Once again, our heroes have returned to the Galar Region once more, in order to keep the promise made at the end of the Olympic Games. Meeting up in the recently unblocked train path to the Crown Tundra, a massive location located south of Galar where many pokemon who prefer isolation live.
"Wow...so much snow." Chopper said looking out the window of the train as they got closer to the station.
"This is absolutely incredible. A whole location south of the mainland full of snow." Frosta said
"So...pretty." Nuna said in a trance.
"I wonder why Zacian and Zamazenta called us all the way out here." David said.
"It must be important if it has something to do with the Crown Tundra being opened." Miriam said, reading a book.
"It's probably best not to speculate." Titanica said as the train came to a halt. "Oh...we're here." she said as they got off and saw the other three groups at the station.
"Seems everyone else beat us here." Jexi said.
"Man, what's up with that? She got a leg up on us again." David said.
"You can thank our new transport for getting us here so quickly." Cheetah said.
"And I see you've gathered quite a crew since we last saw you." Himeno said.
"Yep. Those are some faces I never thought I'd see again." Marco said.
"So they're your…" Stahn started.
"Yep. We're the…'other' half of SEALED, if you prefer to call us that." Toya said.
"Alternate Timeline or not, you're still Himeno and the other's teammates all the same." Al said.
"We're happy to hear that." Agito nodded.
"So, how did you meet up with Richard and Siege anyway?" Francisca asked.
"Well, after we finished up a galactic-wide war in the Future Universe, we asked the crew of the Archangel to drop us off here since we said we'd meet you here." Poison Ivy said.
"Well, it was more of a coincidence." Richard responded back with a fairly sheepish rub of the back of his head. "We were just about finishing up with a bit of a war of our own, and we headed right down, after discussing a few things. We met the others here, and then you guys came, so here we are."
"Yep. Not to mention I brought along a couple of friends for the journey." Siege said, gesturing to a girl in a white battle suit, as she had on an orange and white coat over it to keep herself warm. Alongside her was a girl in a pink battlesuit, wearing a pink parka.
"Hey there! My name's Kiana Kaslana!" Kiana said with a friendly smile and wave.
"I am Mei Raiden, it's nice to meet you all." Mei introduced with a bow.
"And how could I stay out of things this time?" Allison asked with a smile. "It's been forever since I was last on a Pokémon adventure. I thought I might join in this time!"
"Although, according to his friends, Siege here almost didn't make it." Captain Cold mentioned. "He said somethin' about dueling some kid from another dimension."
"Hehe, yeah, someone wanted a duel so I couldn't turn them down. I almost didn't make it because it took so long… ehehehe…" Siege chuckled while rubbing the back of his head.
"This late in? And we thought we were cutting it close." Agito said.
"If you're going to introduce your pals, Siege, let me do mine." Richard stated. "You already know Sanae and Gus, but the fourth member with me… is someone that you might be surprised to see."
From behind Richard, a girl with long black hair and brown eyes walked up to the group, as she was dressed in a black snow coat with a moon symbol on one side, and a mural of rabbits on the bottoms, as well as brown boots. She then smiled at the group and waved. "Hey, so you're the hero groups that Richard has been talking about?" She stated. "It seems that Richard met some interesting friends around here. My name is Kaguya, Kaguya Houraisen."
"It's nice to make your acquaintance as well." David said.
"Well, it seems that everyone is finally here." a voice said as two familiar figures came in.
"Zacian, Zamazenta. It's been quite some time." Alphamon said.
"Oh, don't be so modest. It hasn't been that long since Tokyo." Zamazenta said.
"We know. But competing in the Olympics was quite the blast after all of that constant fighting we went through." David said.
"Indeed, especially after that Isle of Armor incident...which we sincerely apologize for. We know how disappointed you were about that." Zacian said as David pets his head and he starts to purr a bit.
"Cheeky… Anyway, we're hoping that this next adventure will more than make up for that little escapade." Zamazenta said.
"How so?" Cheetah asked.
"Let's just say that you're about to experience something truly…" Zacian said before a figure knocked the two of them far away.
"Hey!" Jexi said.
"No time to stop here and there. Now's the time for a mega ultra exciting adventure!" said the man. He wore bright orange expedition gear.
"What was that for, jerk?" Ajna said.
"Come on, my darling Nia!" he said to a young girl in a school uniform.
"No way. I wanna go on a Dynamax Adventure." she said to him. "Hey, bother them instead."
"Oh boy… Here we go again." David said as he got a Pokéball out.
"David, hold back." Titanica said. "I can handle this. We don't need to go all out on this guy."
"Oh...so you think you got what it takes to adventure here?" he said. "Very well...let me show you the power in the Tundra!" he said. "Go...Copperajah!" he said, sending out a Copperajah.
"Go, Cinderace!" Titanica said, sending out her Pokémon.
"Now don't you dare go limp on me. I was a one time gym leader after all." he said.
"That so? Let me show you my skill." Titanica said. "Cinderace...Pyro Ball." she said as Cinderace took down Copperajah with a fireball.
"Whoa...now that's some power. Return!" he said. "Go, Aggron!" he said, sending out an Aggron.
"Now it's an Aggron this time. This guy must be a Steel Type specialist." Hope said. "But… the weakness is all the same."
"No doubt about that." Siege mused. "Steel types are heavily formidable foes. But like all Pokémon, they aren't invincible."
"Cinderace..Pyro Ball." Titanica said as Cinderace landed another hit and took out Aggron.
"Gah...Hahaha! Now that is some power young miss." he said. "Don't you think, N…" he said before seeing the girl was gone. "Gah! She ran off! Wait...maybe she went to that place." he said before running off into the tundra.
"That guy is nuttier than a fruitcake." Francisca said.
"Wait...where did those two go?" Thorani asked.
In the distance, the two legends watched over them.
"Think we should tell them?" Zamazenta asked.
"Hmm...I was considering it. But then I remembered..it's better to have one that's not so easy to predict." Zacian said.
"Heh. I guess you're right. Better they go through this whole thing for themselves." Zamazenta said.
They followed the guy till they arrived at a strange looking lair where the guy was stopped by a scientist.
"Come on, my little girl is in there!" he begged.
"And as we keep telling you, you can't go in there. It's extremely dangerous." she said.
"She's right about that, I'm getting an unusually strong reading of Dynamax Energy coming from inside." Mari said to the group, using her comm to scan it.
"Hmm… I'm sensing a lot of presences. Could this mean that this is…" Cheetah started.
"Yes...this is the underground of every single well in Galar. This is the Dynamax Lair." she said. "Allow me to explain...it's a place where we provide Pokémon to you who are resistant to the vast amount of Dynamax Particles inside." she said.
"Resistant? Is it really that bad down there?" David asked.
"Let me put it in a way you'll understand. This place makes those wells up top...look like kiddy pools full of toddlers." she said.
"So, because our Pokémon aren't resistant to those particles, we can't use them. Is that what you're trying to say?" David asked.
"Pretty much." she said.
"Wowza. That sounds super serious." Siege said. "But… there wouldn't be a way we could bypass an issue like that, would there?"
"As she said, she is able to provide Pokémon for these excursions. Think of it like some sort of rental system." Cheetah said.
"Oh! So it's kind of like what you're doing with Mei and I, Siege!" Kiana said.
"Yep, until you two catch your own that is. But even then, I doubt Skirtha and Xena would want to go down there, so I suggest you two rent the Pokémon that the scientist provides." Siege said.
"Okay." Mei said. "Understood."
"Now keep in mind...we can only allow four at a time." she said.
"Me and David will go in then." Titanica said.
"I guess I'll go as well, just to see it for myself." Cheetah said.
"You sure? I mean, you're not exactly the Trainer type." Agito said.
"Don't worry, this system has her covered. Thanks to this, even people who aren't Trainers naturally can assist as well." the scientist said.
"I'll fill up this last spot. I want to get a feel for how this works, so that I can give the information to Kiana and Mei, because if I'm honest, this seems like the best way they could successfully catch Pokémon." Siege offered.
"Okay...you may begin now." she said as the four ventured into the den.
"Hmm...she's not kidding. The energy in this place is incredibly dense." Titanica said.
"We should see which Pokémon we have available to rent." Siege said. "If we can each choose Pokémon to cover different types of weaknesses, we'll stand a good chance at getting far in here, to try and find Nia."
"I already got Pokémon when we were with that woman." Cheetah said, passing out the balls. "Now lets…"
"Wait...what's with this energy...it doesn't feel like a normal Pokémon." Titanica said as they ventured into a pocket before they saw a large blue dog creature with bright purple hair.
"Suicune?" Cheetah said.
"Holy shit, it is a Suicune!" Siege yelled. "But… Allison brought a Suicune, Odella… so why is there one here…?"
"But...how? What's a Suicune doing here?" David asked. "Azura...has Kamui with her."
"Hahaha...so you've finally understood." a voice echoed as Zamazenta stood on the edge of a hidden cave. "This place is indeed special. Every few years, legends from other timelines and dimensions end up in the Crown Tundra due to the appearance of a certain trio. This...is the Legend's Bounty!"
Suicune howled as it radiated Dynamax energy.
"So in a way...who has what legend already doesn't matter in this land." Titanica said.
"I guess not. Either way, we better take this thing on!" Siege said. "You guys ready?"
"On it. Let's go, Bellossom!" Titanica said sending it out.
"Let's light it up, Luxray!" Siege yelled, sending out his rental.
"Well, here we go. Ready for this?" David asked.
"As ready as you are. Lets begin, Ishihara." Cheetah said. "Come out!" she threw her ball, and popping out of it was a Boltund.
"Here goes." David said as he threw his ball, revealing a Hitmontop.
"Okay...here we go." Titanica said. "Bellossom, use Giga Drain!" she said as Bellossom drained a lot of energy from Suicune.
"Luxray, follow that up with a Thunder!" Siege commanded, as Suicune lost a lot more HP from the critical hit Thunder hitting, not to mention Type Advantage and STAB boost.
"Let's see...What attacks can Hitmontop do?" David asked in thought. "Hmm… I guess I'll try...High Jump Kick!"
"That's a risky move David, especially if he misses!" Siege yelled in concern as he saw the attack be executed.
Hitmontop spun at a high speed before landing a powerful strike to Suicune's face.
"...Okay never mind." Siege deadpanned.
"Heh. See? I know what I'm doing." David said.
"I guess it's my turn to follow up, then." Cheetah said. "Boltund, attack with Crunch!"
Boltund charged and delivered a powerful bite to Suicune. Thanks to its Strong Jaw ability, the damage was even greater.
Suicune was hanging around yellow health at this point, as Siege saw Suicune preparing an attack.
"Brace yourselves, counter incoming!" Siege yelled.
Suicune then attacked with a Max Geyser attack, hitting Boltund but not doing much damage.
"Alright. Time for Round 2. Triple Kick!" David said.
"Thunderbolt!" Cheetah called.
"Charge Beam!" Siege said.
"Giga Drain!" Titanica said.
All four attacks landed on Suicune before there came an explosion from it as power surged.
"Now's our chance!" Titanica said.
"I've got it!" David said as his Pokéball enlarged before he shot it like a basketball.
The ball opened up and sucked Suicune right inside before slamming onto the ground with a thud. After one, then two, and finally three rumbling shakes, the ball shrunk down and clicked.
"There we go. We succeeded." Titanica said as David collected the ball and they headed back.
"Weird we didn't see the explorer guy in there." David said.
"Think I know why." Cheetah said pointing to the guy lying on his back at the front entrance.
"He hasn't moved since you guys went in." Ajna said, poking him.
"What happened?" Titanica asked.
"He ran inside and tripped on a rock." Jexi said.
"PFFFFT!" Siege spewed, trying not to burst in laughter.
"Seriously?" David asked with a sweatdrop.
"Wow...that was so much fun." said the girl coming out after them. "I may hang here for a long while. Oh...it's you blokes. Thanks for the help earlier. The name's Peonia." she said.
"Uh… Pleasure to meet you. I gotta ask, is he always like this?" David asked.
"Yeah. And my dad was a gym leader once. Now he's got me trying to go on this stupid adventure tour of his to see all the old legends here." she said.
"Shall I wake him up?" Thorani asked.
"Are you dense? No way. He's embarrassing." she said.
"Don't say that!" he said jumping up.
"Holy cow, that was quick!" Zephyr said.
"Hmm...ah! Got it! You all can take my place." she said.
"Say what?!" Bakugo asked.
"Wh-whaaaa!?" Kiana asked as she heard this.
"Yes indeed. We'll see plenty of legends together. Elemental giants, three massive birds, oh and maybe this rumored Pokémon with a huge noggin!" he said. "We'll have lots of fun while my little girl explores."
"Uh, uh, bu- Uhh…" Kiana said, trying to find a rebuttal, but Mei soon stepped in to talk to Peonia.
"Uh… Is she okay?" Zenji asked.
"Well, the news was so sudden. I think Kiana wanted to actually explore on her own and catch some Pokémon of her own before she and Mei got thrown into this." Siege said, before seeing Mei talking with Peonia. "...Unless Mei must be asking Peonia if she and Kiana can adventure with her."
"Sure. Do whatever." Peonia said.
"Thanks! Er… Siege, if we may?" Mei asked, soon gesturing for something, which made Siege sigh and shake his head.
"Fine. But give me Skirtha and Xena back, that way you two don't get confused with rental Pokémon." Siege said, handing Mei and Kiana each a good amount of Poké Balls while taking his Pokémon back. "Go on and have your adventure with Peonia."
"Wow! Thanks!" Kiana said with an eager smile.
"Now then...an intro is in order...I am Peony and from this moment on...the rest of you are the expedition team!" the guy said.
"Heh… All of this reminds me of my days as an archeologist. How nostalgic." Cheetah said.
"Ooh, this is gonna be so much fun!" Nuna said.
"Now then...we're off to Freezeton where the base camp is. It is also...where we'll start our first legend...the rumored ruler of this land. Considered a fairy tale. They call it...Calyrex!" Peony said.
"Calyrex? Wait, didn't Orbeetle mention something about that back in Chrysalia?" David asked.
"Yes, I believe so." Cheetah said.
"Caly...rex?" Nuna said.
"It's a legendary Pokémon called the King of Bountiful Harvests." Titanica said.
"King of Bountiful Harvests, eh?" Siege asked.
"We're listening…" Allison added.
"Actually, we don't really know much about it other than its name and title." Titanica said.
"Which is why you all are gonna uncover more about it!" Peony said. "I call this Legend…"
THE SACRED BONDS OF SOVEREIGN AND STEED!
"A little over the...wait...did he say...steed?" Titanica pondered.
"So...there's more to Calyrex than just Calyrex?" Hope said as the group was unknowingly being watched by a figure in the shadows.
"So...these are the ones the sword and shield have told me about. Maybe they are able to help me after all." they muttered.
