"So Calyrex has a horse that he rides? That's honestly sweet." Siege said.

The group had settled into Peony's Lodging, where he gave all of the people their expedition uniforms, and the group three clues to Calyrex's and the two other legends.

"A king ought to have a loyal steed to ride into battle with. I'd definitely follow anyone like that." Sonia added.

"I know, right?" Allison asked. "Sounds like a really legendary Pokémon."

"I think that's supposed to be a statue of it out there." Titanica said pointing to a statue of a horse like Pokémon and a smaller one riding it. "But...it's missing the crown. Oh…" she said finding it on the ground before putting it on top of the smaller creature.

"But what could the steed even be? It looks so hard to discern." David said.

"It looks like a generic horse." Cheetah said.

"Huh?" Chopper said looking past to see a strange creature past the statue. "Look!" he said as they looked over to see it was a small creature with a large green object atop its head and beads around its neck.

"Whoa! That looks like the guy on the statue!" Siege said.

"Is that...Calyrex?" David asked.

"Only one way to find out." Titanica said as they cornered it. "Okay...talk."

"Crown...rown…" it said.

"Hey guys...what's the…" Peony said before seeing it. "A...a...massive noggin!" he said before a wave of psychic energy overcame him. "Hmm...a very sturdy body. He'll do nicely." he said.

"What the hell? What's gotten into him all of a sudden?" Zenji asked.

"Guys, this isn't Peony's doing. That Pokémon is using him as a medium to communicate with us." Cheetah said.

"That is correct. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Calyrex. I am the king of bountiful harvests." he said.

"Calyrex… nice to meet you. Why have you come to us now all of a sudden?" Siege asked.

"Let me ask you this first...do the humans...what is their opinion of me?" he asked.

"Well...you're pretty much considered a fairy tale." Titanica said.

"As I thought. I've been lost to legend. I used to be looked up at for many ages but now...I've been completely forgotten and because of that...I lost a lot of my power...even my loyal steeds have chosen to leave me." Calyrex said.

"Wait… steeds? As in like, Plural?" Mermista asked.

"Hmm… Peony mentioned something about that. Though, I thought it was just an exaggeration just for a title." David said.

"No...he was correct. They were a couple of wild things. A steed born in the frozen wastes...Glastrier. And one who enjoys the eeriness of the cemetery, Spectrier. I tamed both when they caused havoc and ate the humans' crops. We were an unstoppable team." Calyrex said. "But...now they've chosen to abandon me."

"Hmmm...ah!" Frosta said. "I have a great idea! We could get them back for you!"

"Truly?" Calyrex asked.

"Of course!" Frosta said. "Those two steeds are pretty precious to you, so we'll do our part to get them back. Besides, I have a bit of an interest in that Glastrier one myself."

"Hmm...we would have to find them first. Now that I think of it. There was a food that both of them seemed to be fond of. A vegetable." Calyrex said.

"Well...it's probably...carrots." Fluttershy said.

"Right...horses enjoy them as a treat often. So it would make sense." Double D said.

"Yes. Carrots. That was it. However, we'll need two different variants of the vegetable. And the fields of this town will not cut it." Calyrex said.

"If I would guess right here, one field would need to be in a frozen place for Glastrier to come, and for Spectrier, likely a carrot grown from a cemetery would do the trick." Siege suggested. "Unfortunately, I don't know of any frozen fields or fields within a cemetery…"

"I do. I can mark them on your map for you. Simply plant the seeds and I will make them grow with my power." Calyrex said.

"We're on it." Poison Ivy said.

"We'll take the field in the Snowslide Slope." David said.

"Allison and I will head over to the field in the cemetery you mentioned." Siege said.

"Once the carrots seeds are planted, contact us on our communicators. That way, we can have Calyrex grow both carrots at once." Hope said.

"Got it." Siege said with a nod.

The two sides went over to each field as they planted seeds on each plot.

"Excellent. Now...I shall grow each of those seeds into carrots, using this ancient technique that has been secret for ages." Calyrex said. "Crownrownrown! Crownrownrown!" Calyrex said dancing a sort of jig as each plot glowed with only a single carrot growing in each one.

"Agh! That was very sudden." David said.

"But at least the carrots are growing. That should bring their attention." Sectonia said.

"But...I feel shame. All of those seeds with only one carrot growing in each plot." Calyrex said.

"Don't feel so bad about it, man. I'm sure they still appreciate the effort." Agito said.

Siege and Allison then pulled up the carrot at the Old Cemetery. It was called a Shaderoot Carrot, a long, purple and creepy looking carrot while David pulled up an Iceroot Carrot which appeared to be a carrot made of ice. Both sides soon heard neighing. On Siege's side, they saw a black horse with long purple hair and separate hooves running past them while David's side saw a pure white horse with an ice mane running past them.

"So that was Spectrier…" Siege breathed in its sight. "It's mere presence was so ghostly and chilling."

"Yeah. And I just saw Glastrier on my end too." David said. "Wait, this aura… Guys, they're heading towards the village!"

"I see what happened. We grew the carrots and they smelled them, but they couldn't figure out where the scent was coming from. Freezington is in danger." Calyrex said.

"That's not good. I hope the others are on the defensive right now." David said.

The two steeds drew closer to the village before Toya got in their path as they came to a halt.

"Toya? What do you think you're doing?" Mayumi asked.

"What does it look like? I'm protecting this village." Toya said.

"But you don't have any Pokemon on you." Cia said.

"Not necessarily. Barbara lent me one that she had before." Toya said.

"Had before? Wait, you still have that Haxorus from the KOF Stadium, did you?" Mayumi asked.

"It's either that...or that Boltund she had earlier back at the Max Lair." Jessica said.

Toya brought out a Pokéball. "Let's go, Boltund!" he threw it and called out Boltund as it growled at the two steeds. "Use Wild Charge!" he said as Boltund coated itself with electricity before ramming into the two horse Pokémon, knocking them back.

"Whoa! Toya's really holding his own out there." Marco said.

"No hesitation at all." Vashyron said. "But he's in there against two legendary Pokémon. How's this gonna go?"

Glastrier and Spectrier then regained their senses before retaliating. Glastrier used Icicle Crash, which Boltund dodged, but Spectrier caught it with a Shadow Ball to the face.

"Hmm… Fighting both of them at once is going to be tricky. In that case… Use Discharge!" Toya said.

Boltund hit them both with electricity. Both Pokémon neighed before they turned away and ran towards the townspeople.

"Here they come. Get ready!" Toya said as they ran past him. "No!"

As they got close to the people, a sort of power forced them away as tufts of their hairs fell off before they ran off deep into the tundra.

"Whew… That was close." Toya said.

"You alright there, Toya?" Agito asked.

"Besides my poor guarding job, I think I'm good." Toya said.

"Nonsense, dear Toya. Your defensive work was quite a splendid effort." Calyrex said.

"Yeah, Calyrex is right. Plus, the fact that they decided to run past you, after engaging you says a lot." Scarlet pointed out. "Either they decided it wasn't worth it, or they thought they couldn't win. Whatever the case, still impressive."

"That...didn't help much." Toya said. "They still ignored me and almost attacked innocent people. And these hairs…"

"It's good they were left behind. According to the books here...they can be used to make reins so Calyrex can regain control." Sci-Twi said.

"So, really. I'd say that you actually did a better job than you're giving yourself credit for." Cheetah said. "So, we just need to use these to craft into the Reins of Unity."

"And on top of that, we need to make two sets. We need a good craftsman for that." Agito said.

"You're kidding right?" Jexi smiled looking to Rarity.

"Hold it. We still need one more thing. A flower only Calyrex can grow." Sci-Twi said.

"I see." Calyrex said as he focused whatever power he had before emerging was a single petal. "Seems this is all I can muster."

"Meaning we can only make one pair of reins." Titanica said.

"But… which one will Calyrex ride?" Glimmer asked.

"Hmm… This may sound crazy, but I have an idea." Zenji said. "Yoko, I'm going to need your help on this one."

"Me? Well...okay." Yoko said.

"While we were in the Future Universe, we ran into this guy who said he can use the...Alchemy Style or something." Zenji said.

"Alchemy… Ah, of course! You're saying that you can copy that style and replicate the petal, right?" David asked.

"In theory… That's how it's supposed to work. But the fact still lies that there's only one Calyrex, so now that I think about it, there doesn't seem much point in making a second set." Zenji said.

"Mmmmmm….. I've decided!" Frosta butted in.

"Huh?" Hope said. "On what, Frosta?"

"I've made up my mind. I'm going to be the one to tame Glastrier!" Frosta said.

"Hmm...that could work. While Calyrex works to tame Spectrier, Frosta can get on Glastrier and work on taming it." Alphamon said.

"Zenji, we're counting on you." Cheetah said.

"Right." Zenji said. "If I remember right...he can create anything except living things. Just need to focus on the conversion." he said as he worked on some material before it started to shift and change before it appeared as a replica of the petal.

"Whoa. It really worked!" Mayumi said.

"Now we just need to make both reins, and we'll be able to tame Glastrier and Spectrier." Yoko said.

"I should be able to handle that. I am good at making clothes." Rarity said as she started weaving the reins.

"Now we just need to figure out where they're living." Usopp said.

"There is one place that comes to mind. My old home...the Crown Shrine." Calyrex said.

"If I had to make a guess, the shrine is at the top of the mountain under that frozen tree, right?" Adora asked.

"That's right. I've been avoiding it to avoid pointless nostalgia. But why would they live there...reminiscing of our days together?" Calyrex pondered.

"Perhaps they might have made their home there, because they do remember you… Although it's more like a provocation, rather than nostalgia." Sanae answered back. "Or maybe they might have genuinely missed you, but they just can't bring themselves to simply accept that you're back."

"Now that you mention it, it did feel like a sort of force hit them before they got too close." Toya said.

"That was me. I was using my power to protect those people." Calyrex said.

"Aw man. And I thought for sure that my theory still held fruit." Scarlet said.

"In any case, we'll be in for quite the reunion once we get up there." David said.

And so the group climbed up the mountain before they arrived at an old temple with an old frozen tree inside and a stable inside as well with two spots for food.

"So this was the sight where you ruled over Galar as King in ancient times." Adora said.

"Yes. This was once my home." Calyrex said. "Now it's come to me...maybe it wasn't the people losing belief in me that caused me to lose my power. Maybe it was because of my own loneliness."

"Regardless, we're here. And you're not alone anymore, Calyrex." Siege said.

"I see that. Now...place the carrots in the holders. Once they get in, I'll jump on Spectrier and force my power into it, uniting us." Calyrex said.

"Meanwhile, Frosta will work her magic with Glastier." David said.

"Now hold up." Siege said. "I may not be an expert on a subject like this, but both of those horses seemed like they still were pretty energized. One more battle and that should bring them down enough to allow you to subdue them. And I got just the Pokémon for it."

"There is no need to worry. I can handle this." Calyrex said as they heard clopping. "They're coming."

"I hear that. Clear the way!" Allison said as everyone moved for Calyrex and Frosta to face the steeds.

The two horse Pokémon entered the shrine as they went to the carrot holders. Calyrex then went into action and jumped onto Spectrier as it started to buck and shake and move around the shrine as Frosta did the same to Glastrier. Both rode their respective steeds for a bit before flowing their energy into them. Both steeds, now recognizing their riders, stopped and stood tall.

"I…I did it!" Frosta raised her arms in victory.

"All of you...I must thank you for all you have done for me." Calyrex said.

"It was no trouble at all. We were happy to help you." Hope said.

"Yeah, it was nothing." Siege said with a smile.

"I've lived in loneliness for so long. Living back my days as a unifier and a ruler of harvests. I'm done living like that. I have decided...I want to go with you on your journey." Calyrex said.

"Whoa, you're… You're serious?" Agito asked.

"Whoa there bud… Something tells me it ain't that simple." Siege said. "Being a legendary, he must need proof of our worth."

"You are correct. I do want to join you all but...I never said I would make it easy." Calyrex said as Spectrier neighed. "One final battle...before I decide to join with all of you."

"In that case… I accept your challenge, on behalf of all of us!" Siege declared. "And I'll even make this honorable, and use one Pokémon for our match!"

"Actually Siege, let me have this one. Though I, too, will only use one Pokémon." Allison stepped up.

"Well, let's let Calyrex decide. Who do you see fit as your opponent, Calyrex?" Siege asked.

"It does not matter to me. Honestly, any of you would make fine opponents." Calyrex said.

"Fair enough. Allison, you haven't gotten a chance to show your abilities yet. Go show Calyrex your worth!" Siege said.

Allison nodded, stepping up to face Calyrex.

(Cue - Cynthia Theme - Pokémon Masters)

Allison challenges Calyrex!

"Alright, Odella! Let's show him our true power as a Perfect Link!" Allison yelled, sending out her Suicune, as her Suicune seemed to have a few icy crystals around her, alongside Suicune's usual appearance. "I hope you are prepared, Calyrex! We aren't holding back!"

"Neither shall I. Lets go Spectrier, as one!" Calyrex said as their energies synchronized. "Astral…" he said as small ghosts surrounded him. "Barrage!" he said as they were all fired at Suicune.

"Bringing out a strong move like that early, huh? Time to show him our specialty then, Suicune! GO! KORI HANTEI!" Allison yelled.

Her Suicune nodded before summoning large icy winds, forming large icicles around and above Suicune, as they fired, piercing through the ghostly barrage straight for Calyrex and his steed.

"Crap! Allison's already drawing out the Link Move! Never seen her this serious before!" Siege remarked.

"Lets go, with Great speed, Spectrier! Agility!" Calyrex said as they sped up. "Future Sight!" he said as a small glow came from him for a moment.

"Odella, Calm Mind!" Allison declared, as her Suicune closed her eyes, focusing deeply, raising her Special Attack and Special Defense stats greatly.

"So, she's preparing for the eventual strike from Future Sight." Sci-Twi said.

"Of course, why else would she use Calm Mind?" Siege asked with a smirk. "That's exactly what she's doing."

"That shouldn't be the only thing that worries them. Mega Drain!" Calyrex said draining energy from Suicune.

"Ha! Unluckily for you, you left yourself wide open! Pounce on your moment Odella! Strike him with ExtremeSpeed!" Allison yelled, as her Suicune dashed at incredible speeds, as everyone thought she was crazy going for a Normal Type when… "You have him! Point Blank Ice Beam!"

Suicune reappeared right in front of Calyrex, before letting rip a Super powered Ice Beam that hit them both dead on.

"That may have taken me out when I was separate...but...we are one. Astra Barrage!" Calyrex called out as multiple ghosts hit Suicune up close.

"Ha! Right where I want you then! KORI HANTEI, NOW!" Allison yelled, as Calyrex was blasted with the same power back from Odella, all of the icicles crashing into him and his steed. It may not be super effective, but it dealt a large amount of damage regardless.

"Seems the sword and shield were right. Every one of you is quite skilled." Calyrex said.

"So, Zacian and Zamazenta really did tell you about us." Cheetah said.

"They did...but...I could care less about the individual heroes. I was rather interested in the group as a whole." Calyrex said. "Going to such lengths...is the stuff legends are made of."

"That much is true. And to make it proper, let's continue this duel of legends!" Allison said, preparing for the next attack. next attack.

"Right. It's about time we ended this." Calyrex said as the Future Sight hit its mark. "Now. Let's end this! Astral Barrage!"

"Not bad but...I will still come out the winner." Allison said as Suicune had powered up Kori Hantei yet again.

"Hmm...well...not bad." Calyrex said as both Pokémon took the attacks with both of them collapsing to the ground. However, Odella managed to make it back to her feet, despite the hard hits from Future Sight and Astral Barrage.

"Way to go girl!" Allison said, petting her Suicune. "Great match, Calyrex."

"You did really great, Calyrex." Nuna said sitting down near him.

"Yes...I did well but so did she." Calyrex said as Titanica approached.

"Are you ready?" she asked.

"Indeed." he said as a ball was tossed at him as he and Spectrier went inside it. It rolled for a bit before dinging. "From this moment on...we'll continue our travels together." his voice said. "One other thing...a message from the Sword and Shield. Once you have finished with the Legends Bounty...head to the Slumbering Weald before going to Wyndon."

"We'll be sure to do that. As for now, though… There's still a lot more exploring to be done." Francisca said.

"That's right. The whole tundra is ours to explore, with so many species of pokemon to capture. It makes for great training." Hope said.

"And while we're here, I guess a few of us can form teams as well." Cheetah said, motioning to her own group.

"Then it's decided." Hope nodded. "I'll use this time in the Crown Tundra to catch as many Pokémon as I can… and hone my skills as a Pokémon Trainer!"

"I'm gonna find the strongest Ice-types that live here, and build myself a little something I like to call "The Frost Guardians"!" Frosta said.

"Allison and I are gonna build up our teams. We already caught a couple while we were working on this quest." Siege said.

"I want to become friends with Pokémon who are connected to nature just as much as me." Nuna smiled as her cheeks brightened.

"Well then, guess we're going to be busy with the Legend's Bounty, that's for sure." Mark said.

"Tell me about it." David said.

"So Alice, which of Peony's legends should we explore next?" Bow asked.

"I was thinking we could hunt down the Elemental Giants next." Titanica said.

"Sounds like a plan to me." Siege said.

"The Elemental Giants, eh?" Richard remarked with a hand on his chin. "From what I gathered, the way to them is locked behind riddles. I might be able to help you out with them."

"Then let's keep this thing going." Titanica said. "We'll solve every legend here...and then...we'll compete in the Galarian Star Tournament."
