2030
Lex's son had his own Yautja name, but he enjoyed calling himself Scarface after the amusing American movie. At thirteen, he was full-grown and ready for a decent challenge. His father obliged, sending him to an insect infested world. The Prince had merely dropped him off on the planet, gave him a spear, and then departed.
Not long afterwards, the Prince came back for his son not knowing if he was dead or alive. Arriving at the same spot, the Prince and Lex exited the ship and found their son alive and well with a large stack of insect bones in front of him.
"Thank God he is alive," Lex said annoyed with the Prince.
Scarface removed his mask revealing his humanoid looking face. "You have overcome your human disadvantage," the Prince remarked.
Scarface took a knee before his father. "Give me another challenge," he requested.
"There is a growing concern on your mother's world: Earth," the Prince said to him.
Concrete Jungle
Inside the ship, Scarface was briefed on the situation. "The humans have recovered Yautja weaponry and have effectively used it against our warriors," the Prince displayed video of humans using Yautja-detecting technology to get through the cloak and then firing high-powered lasers to kill.
"Mother has been giving the humans our technology for years," Scarface pointed out.
"It wasn't my intention for violent street gangs to acquire this technology," Lex replied.
"Kill the gangs and retake the technology," the Prince ordered.
"As you wish," Scarface said obediently.
The Yautja ship then deployed Scarface's pod to Neonopolis.
It wasn't long before Scarface saw shootouts in the city streets. Wanting to send a message to his presence, Scarface activated his cloak and then entered the fire-fight. In sneak attacks, he grabbed random gang members and took them alive to the top of buildings only to kill them quickly with his blades. He then strung them up by their feet leaving their dead bodies to rot for all to see. After placing hung up dead gang members at every corner of the city, Scarface turned his attention to the riot police.
At this point, the riot police were primitive cyborgs only capable of basic commands but still able to walk around, apprehend, and shoot. They were in police uniforms but their chrome bodies made them obvious. They were led by bipedal mech robots that were armed to the teeth.
Scarface considered playing a new game. He targeted a cyborg with his plasma cannon blasting its head off. The riot police immediately responded by searching for the shooter. With honor constraints out of the way, Scarface dropped down on a mech unit and used his spear to disable it. With his spear in hand, Scarface went on a cyborg-killing rampage taking out several of them by impaling them with his spear or blasting their heads off with his plasma cannon.
After defeating the riot police, Scarface could go after the Les Serviteur gang without interference. Using infrared vision, Scarface could see symbols on the walls leading to the hideout entrance. He then noticed two guards utilizing cloaking devices. Using an array of different vision settings with his mask, he fired his plasma cannon on the two guards blasting them both to the chest.
Dropping down to the street level, Scarface sneaked up behind gang members in cloak and killed them with his blades one-by-one as he got closer to the entrance. With the door locked, Scarface placed a bomb on the door and blasted it off. Going inside, Scarface engaged the Serviteurs using his spear in his right hand and wrist blades on his left while occasionally using his plasma cannon for long distance.
Scarface then came upon the Les Serviteur boss, a muscular man with a curved blade he held in both hands. "You are the god of death. You come for me?" the boss grinned.
Scarface struck at him with his spear. The two blocked each other with their blades until Scarface eventually over-powered the man by flinging his blade out of his hands. Scarface then sliced through his neck with his left hand and ripped his head off his torso taking a part of his spine with him. Victorious, Scarface went to work hanging the bodies from the ceiling.
Once he was done, Lex decloakd inside the hideout. She looked over the bloody scene indifferently. Scarface took off his mask to speak to her properly and show respect to his mother. "Are you injured?" she asked.
Scarface merely shrugged taking off his chest armor. Lex could see a number of green spots where he had been shot or stabbed at. Opening a medical compartment on her arm, she went to work sealing his wounds. Scarface roared in pain but otherwise allowed her to work on him.
Your father only desires that you defeat a worthy adversary," Lex said. She then noticed the headless body of the Les Serviteur boss and that his skull was now on Scarface's shoulder. "That man won't be enough to please him."
"He was only practice," Scarface downplayed.
"I want even more from you. Tomorrow, there will be a weapon's deal with the Dead Men gang. Find the weapons and destroy then before the Dead Men can possess them," Lex ordered.
"And the Dead Men?" Scarface asked.
"Do as you wish to them," Lex said unconcerned. "They will be using drugs that dull their pain and heighten their abilities."
"Pain makes us feel alive," Scarface disapproved.
"You are well-trained, my son. They will be no match for you," Lex predicted.
The next morning, Scarface searched around the city looking for the gun deal while cloaked. He finally came upon them in an alley near the bay. He observed the deal with some curiosity. The exchange of weaponry for currency had always been a mystery to him. In Yautja culture, arms were simply given to one in order to achieve a mission.
"Need more special guns," the Dead Men boss said without emotion to some gun dealers.
"I got everything you could need, dude. Take a look in this truck," the gun dealer said confidently.
"Not enough. Need more," the Dead Men boss said unimpressed.
"Man, you know, this stuff is hard to come by," the gun dealer said defensively.
"Bring more, one hour," the Dead Men boss said not buying it.
"Dude, seriously...fuck," the gun dealer said realizing he would be killed if he didn't deliver.
After the meeting was over, Scarface targeted the gun dealers and fired in the center of them killing all three in one shot. He then tossed a grenade at the truck destroying the weapons. With his mother's request accomplished, Scarface dropped down and began slicing up Dead Men with his spear. He proceeded to go around the city blocks killing Dead Men wherever he went. They were obvious to find. They all wore black clothing and appeared completely high. Scarface then watched as a Dead Man went inside a church. A password was apparently required to get in. Scarface waited patiently for another to come near the door. When he entered through the door, Scarface entered with him.
Inside the church was a metal band and people on the floor too high to do much of anything. The pews and religious decoration had been taken out. Aside from the outside, the church was merely a shell. Generally speaking, it was taboo to hunt inside a religious building of any kind. Often, the Yautja would be frustrated once an alien race discovered this restriction. However, the church was no longer used for such purposes and therefore everyone inside was fair game.
Scarface considered the metal band's music. It was different and actually enjoyable. He listened for a few minutes and then got bored of the repetitive play. He then sliced at the legs of all those swaying to the music. None of them were armed or really capable of fighting. Scarface simply dropped them all by slicing at their legs. As he did, those above him shot at him. Their aim was poor often killing the people around him. Scarface then leaped to the second level and took out the shooters. Soon, all of the Dead Men were looking to fight the intruder. Scarface made short work of them and then engaged the Dead Men's Triad. These men had extended finger nails that resembled claws and modified fangs. Scarface fought all three at once and quickly slaughtered them all beheading them.
With everyone in the church dead, Scarface dragged all the bodies to the sewer level underneath the church and put them in a pile. With the church finally purified, Scarface went on his next mission.
Don Giovanni was an old Italian mob boss. He was confined to a hover chair and often had an oxygen mask over his face. At his side was his chief body guard, Vinny di Angelo. He had a mansion outside the city that had the best security a man could buy. Outside his compound were machine-gun turrets, bunker nests, and mech robots at every entrance. He also had a surveillance dome over the entire compound that detected any motion.
Lex arrived at the compound as human wearing a white business suit and a briefcase filled with cash. Giovanni and Vinny came out to see her. "Thank you for coming," Giovanni said hoarsely and then put his mask back on.
Lex took a seat in a large lobby. She placed her briefcase on the table and opened it revealing stacks of one hundred dollar bills. "I represent the interests of the Weyland Corporation. We want the spear you have collected," Lex said.
"Weyland wants a monopoly on alien artifacts, I see. Somethings are priceless," Giovanni resisted.
"Others will want it as well. You don't want to live the rest of your life in fear," Lex said.
"I intend to donate my collection to the public museums after I die," Giovanni said resolved.
Vinny suddenly slashed Giovanni's throat killing him instantly. He took out a gun and pointed it at Lex. "I'm taking the money and the spear," he said.
Lex put her hands up in surrender. Shooting could then be heard outside the compound. "What the fuck?" Vinny wondered.
Outside, Scarface took out some of the guards patrolling. The machine gun turrets then went off randomly shooting everywhere in an attempt to get to him. Scarface stayed cloaked and used visual scanners to avoid the motion detectors. He then got past the turrets and found a guard near a control panel. Quickly disarming the man, Scarface slammed his face in the iris scanner. The security system then went down.
Scarface then went to the entrance and slaughtered the squad of guards with his spear. After he had killed the last guard, Scarface fired his plasma cannon at the door blasting it open. A mech unit was waiting for him with Gatling guns ready to gun him down. Lex quickly activated her wrist band covering herself in nano-machines that gave her a full-body Yautja armor. With her several plasma cannons, she fired on the mech unit destroying it before it could fire on her son.
Scarface then went inside and battled the guards. Lex ignored the panicked Vinny and looked for the spear. Finding it, she broke open the case and took the spear. Scarface cleared all of the rooms of the mansion and then took Vinny himself. He fired his automatic rifle spraying the room.
Scarface rushed Vinny and slashed him to the neck. Lex deactivated her suit and watched passively as Scarface ripped Vinny's skull and spine out of his body. Scarface roared pleased with his kill. He then noticed his mother in human form.
"We have a new target. Her name is Lucretia. I don't know where she is, but I know her associate, Fidel Perez. He's the leader of the Matadores. Find him and make him talk," Lex ordered.
Scarface nodded and placed Vinny's skull on a chain alongside that of the Les Servituer boss. Lex then took her briefcase filled with money and left the ruined compound. Scarface went to work hanging up bodies by their feet on the roof of the house.
That night, Scarface tracked down Fidel and followed him around the city while in cloak. As he did, he occasionally killed off a few of his enforcers and pimps he associated with. The spooked Fidel finally gave Lucretia a call out in the open. Scarface listened in carefully.
"Mistress Lucretia. It's me, El Hongo. The gang bosses, everybody. They found them hanging on hooks like animals. The invisible demon killed them all and now he wants me. Mistress, I'm begging for your help," he said freaked out.
"The invisible demon?" Lucretia wondered. "I don't have time for this shit. Someone is fucking with my business. Is that what you're telling me?"
"There's nobody left alive on the streets to do your business," Fidel told her.
"You want me to send the Russians. These people view murder, torture, and rape not as crimes but as Olympic events. Do you really want me to send in the machine-men?" Lucretia told him.
"Fuck yes. It's a fucking demon," Fidel agreed.
"No demon is scarier than me, El Hongo," Lucretia assured him.
Scarface then chuckled in an inhuman voice and continued to follow Fidel to the docks.
At a stadium, Scarface was suddenly ambushed by the machine-men who were able to detect his cloak. They used an energy discharge from their fists to take out his cloaking device. Half-human, half-machine, these Russians were difficult to kill. Scarface used the staff recovered at the compound to swipe at them spraying blood on the rooftop of cargo containers as he jumped from one container to another. The machine-men quickly recovered and continued to fight him. Scarface found the even more thrilling when the prey was able to fight back. With their energy discharges, Scarface started using his plasma cannon to blast off heads and limbs. After he killed the last one, Scarface collected his skull.
At her desk, Lucretia got a true shock. "Where is Viktor?" she asked referring to her Russian leader.
"They're all dead," Fidel told her.
"What?" Lucretia asked stunned.
"The invisible demon slaughtered them and took their skulls," Fidel said fearfully.
"Fuck! Just went I thought I could get away from this fucking city," Lucretia said peeved.
"Mistress, you have got to get me out of here," Fidel begged.
"Go down to the Working Girls at the dock," Lucretia ordered.
Fidel ran down to the dock with a briefcase filled with cash. "Lucretia sent me. I need to speak to Baby Blew," he said and then showed her the money.
"Baby Blew? You're a man that knows what he wants," the prostitute guard said amused.
"Yes, I got all of her movies back home. Plus, I know all about the special weapon's shipment," Fidel said.
"You come with me. I'll show you the special deluxe package," she said bringing him inside.
Scarface watched the conversation with amusement. A Yautja male would never request or pay for sexual favors. A male would always fight for greater honor and validation until a female would beg for the chance to mate with him. Females would never mate with an unworthy male no matter the price. Still, Scarface knew he couldn't make any honorable kills here unless these females had a weapon on them. Fortunately for him, as he scanned the area, he found some decent targets.
With his spear, Scarface went around executing prostitute guards holding rifles. From a high position, he fired plasma bolts at prostitute guards blasting their heads off. He then dropped down and sneaked behind two guards. He swiped one girl's head off and then stabbed the other in the back ripping her spine out. Scareface leaped around a bit looking for Fidel. He blasted off the heads of two more girls and then finally spotted his target.
"What makes you think you're worth my time?" Baby Blew asked in a scantily clad uniform and cowboy hat.
"Lucretia sent me. She said you could protect me with all your guards you have for this special shipment," Fidel said. "You have to help me. The invisible demon is after me. He slaughtered all my men."
"Don't worry. Lucretia sent you to the right place," Baby Blew assured him. "Just relax and enjoy," she said getting close to him. Her skin then started to change becoming more reptilian.
Scarface blasted off more heads off with his plasma cannon, then fired a burst at three male guards lighting them all on fire at once, and then started slashing through other guards at the ground level. For Scarface, it didn't matter if the target was male or female. It was often the case that females were larger and more dangerous than the males among animal populations. As long as they were armed, they were fair game. Scarface followed one of the prostitute commanders to a security control center. He followed her inside he facility, sliced her in half at the midsection, and then proceeded to grenade the station taking out the base's security system.
Scarface then moved towards the ship killing guards as he did in various ways whether it be slicing them in half, snapping necks, beheading, or ripping their hearts out. He got on board the ship and fired his plasma cannon at energy cells stolen from the Yautja. The energy cells quickly overloaded gutting the entire ship.
"What are you?" Fidel screamed as Lex held him off the floor. As a Yautja, she was now taller and bigger than he was. She tossed him out the window where he stumbled to the ground. Lex leaped down and casually followed him as he tried to crawl away. Scarface then arrived and knifed him several times.
Lex morphed into Baby Blew and called Lucretia using her cell phone. "Mistress, we lost the shipment. Something happened, and we're still counting the dead," she said using Baby Blew's voice.
"You lost the shipment!" Lucretia shrieked. "I have customers waiting in war-zones all around the world, you moron. I have a reputation!"
"I don't know. Someone...something got on-board the ship and blew it up and killed all my men," Lex replied.
"What bastard thinks he can fuck with me like this? I want his head in a box! As for you, Baby Blew, you lost my shipment...so for that you're going to lose an eye and both of your hands," Lucretia ranted.
"It's not my fault," Lex excused.
"Get those drone trucks back to depot now. Maybe, I can salvage something from this fucking mess," Lucretia ordered. "Nobody fucks with me. Nobody!"
Lex hung up and turned to her son. "You're creating quite the death toll," she said to her son.
"Just relax and enjoy," he mocked her.
"You know what to do," she said seriously.
Scarface got onto a drone truck and followed it to the depot.
At the depot, Scarface got to work disabling the security system terminals, killing guards wherever present, and engaging mech units by leaping on top of them, ripping the hatch off, and slaying the individual inside. Moving into the power core room, Scarface avoided the motion detectors and started sabotaging the power cores. Each of the power cores appeared to be tanks of fluid used for the fusion reactor. After destroying four of these cores, Scarface went for the main core destabilizing it. Realizing the place would soon melt-down, he ran quickly to escape the blast. He took an elevator to the upper floor to escape the blast barely surviving.
He then found himself surrounded by a hundred personal. Looking around, Scarface didn't hesitate to attack. Unfortunately, he became overwhelmed and beaten to near death. Instead of killing him, Lucretia's father, Hunter, brought him inside.
"You've never hunted us before," Hunter mocked him.
"What does it want from me?" Lucretia asked.
"Imagine deer picked up the rifles and started hunting the hunter. The Prometheus tech we have been using comes from them. We've stolen the secret of fire from the gods," Hunter said to her.
"Let's just get out of this business. We can sell Prometheus Tech for billions!" Lucretia said enthusiastically.
"Don't even think about it. We build this city and it belongs to the Borgia family, understand?" Hunter rebuked. "I would never give it up to faceless corporation."
"What about Weyland? I thought you were friends with Peter," Lucretia pressed. "I want to be rich. I want to be free."
"You have no idea what you're talking about. You're a clever girl. When I am gone, all of this will be yours. Until then, you follow my orders. Get the gangs back up and start moving the merchandise," Hunter ordered her.
Scarface awoke and found himself a bloody mess while having all of his limbs caught in energy clamps. Suddenly, power went down in the facility. Scarface fell to the floor as his restraints dissipated. The scientists in the room quickly retreated from the room. Lex, in her Yautja form, decloaked in front of her son. She looked over her son's injuries and injected a healing serum into his body.
"I was captured. I am still unworthy," Scarface said to her.
She touched his face with her clawed hand. "Even if you don't ever get the respect you deserve, you will always have my love."
Scarface stood up and saw her take off her mask. The two gave each other a genuine look of affection between mother and son. "Gear up," she instructed.
Scarface nodded with renewed resolve. With the equipment Lex had recovered for him, he put his blades back on, his armor, his plasma cannon, and finally his mask. He then tore through the facility as Lex cloaked herself.
Seeing that Scarface had escaped, Lucretia waited until Scarface was outside the facility. She then ordered a lock-down of all the doors. "If man can't kill him, the weather will," she said and then activated the weather machine at the top of the building. The night sky immediately became inhospitable with powerful rain and wind. Scarface could barely keep his footing as the intense winds hit him. The guards were not nearly as strong with some of them flying off to their deaths. Scarface located the weather towers and fired plasma bolts destroying it.
After slaughtering more of the guards, Scarface hijacked a flying car and slammed into the building allowing himself back inside.
A panicked Lucretia ran through the facility looking for her father. She found him inside a medical pod. Desperate for his help, she aborted whatever procedure he was undergoing. "Caution! Genetic augmentation incomplete!" the computer warned.
"It's coming. I couldn't stop it. It's coming to get us," she said apologetically.
"Extreme caution! Genetic augmentation process interrupted!" the computer warned again.
The doors of the pod opened revealing a very changed Hunter. His muscles had increased dramatically, he had gained a few inches in height, his eyes were now yellowish, and his skin had gone through an incomplete metamorphism between human flesh and Yautja giving him a slightly yellowish complexion. Hunter gave a Yautja roar, his vocal cords having changed making it difficult for him to speak normally.
Lucretia backed away stunned. "What have you done to yourself?"
Hunter was no longer of right mind to see Lucretia as his daughter. He smacked her hard to the floor. "I'll see you in hell, daddy," Lucretia said as she died from the blow.
Scarface then leaped down and looked over Hunter's monstrous forms. Scarface had been a human/Yautja hybrid from birth, had been scorned for it, mocked for it, ridiculed for it, and compelled to prove himself above and beyond for it. Hunter had merely adopted it as a science experiment.
"There's only room for one monster in this town. You ugly son-of-a-bitch," Scarface said through his mask's voice synthesizer.
Hunter detached the Yautja death Frisbee and threw it at Scarface. He barely dodged the disc and went for an attack. Hunter also utilized Yautja blades and the two dueled while the Frisbee went for another pass. Scarface disengaged just in time before being hit with the disc. Scarface kept moving circling around Hunter going through a stab with each pass around him. This proved ineffectual as Hunter was able to block or dodge almost all of his attacks. Scarface then got hit to the arm with the Frisbee and disengaged. Running around the facility, Scarface worked to evade the disc of death by leaping to the second floor then back to the first floor. Even while cloaked, the disc kept coming towards him.
Scarface then decided he needed his plasma cannon. With his mask, he targeted the disc and blasted it to nothing. Injecting himself with a healing serum, he went after a retreating Hunter. Crashing through a window, the two were now outside the facility on the top floor. Hunter leaped away onto a series of helicopter pads hosted by large pillars. Scarface pursued knowing that if he miscalculated he could fall to his death.
The two eventually made to the highest platform. There, they were at chest level with a giant statue of Hunter. With nowhere to go, Hunter made his stand. Scarface decloaked and upon seeing Hunter as a worthy adversary decided it would be necessary to drop his gear. Taking off his plasma cannon and then his mask, the two were now on equal footing. Scarface's face looked human in appearance but with tough leathery skin and yellowish eyes. His cranium was human in shape as well with his hair in tight dreadlocks.
Hunter merely roared at him, beyond reason at this point. Extending his blades, Scarface charged Hunter for a final duel. The two clashed with both getting hits on the other. Finally, Hunter retreated to the statue leaping onto the outstretched hand. Scarface followed and the two fought to the death with their blades high above the ground. Scarface expertly sliced up Hunter until he fell to his feet.
"Strength cannot be manufactured. It must be earned," Scarface said to him.
Hunter cowered before him totally defeated. Scarface then beheaded him in a quick swipe and gave a jubilant roar of victory. "I am the boss of this city!" he declared.
A Yautja ship then decloaked near him.
On-board the Yautja ship, Scarface finally got some rest. He had managed to kill a few hundred armed humans within the span of a few days. Lex tried not to think about her son's killing spree. He had achieved for her the ultimate goal of acquiring all the stolen Yautja gear. The vast majority of those who were killed were scum anyway. Looking over the crime-filled city of Neonopolis, Lex couldn't help but think the entire world was going to hell.
Soon thereafter, a human Lex met with Peter Weyland in London. "Borgia Industries is finished. You again have a monopoly on Yautja technology."
"Very good. I heard what had happened. Was it really necessary for so many to die?" Peter asked.
"Hunter Borgia was unwilling to be bought out. Besides, he intended to sell the Prometheus weaponry to other clients. That, we couldn't allow," Lex said.
"Prometheus, huh?" Peter smirked. "Now, with their leadership gone and many of their personal killed, they should be easy to buy out."
"That's your business if you want to invest in Neonopolis," Lex shrugged.
"As always, I am incredibly grateful to you," Peter smiled. "David, bring some tea," he ordered.
David, the android, brought two cups and filled them both perfectly with tea. Lex stared at David noticing something off about him. "An android?" she guessed.
"How did you know?" David asked curiously.
"I know how humans move. You're a bit stiff," Lex smiled.
"David is new a prototype designed to mimic humans. He's like the son I never had," Peter said thoughtfully.
"How do you like your tea, Miss Woods?" David asked.
"Delicious," Lex smiled at him amused.
"You may go, David," Peter dismissed him. Peter then turned to Lex. "I must thank you for giving us the hyper-sleep technology. Even so, it will take decades for us to reach the nearest star. For those still on Earth, that is a long wait."
"You will soon have faster-than-light speed soon enough," Lex said and then gave him a small thumb drive. "With this, your scientists can figure out the inverse relationship between velocity and the flow of time. It's the start you need."
"Why not just give us everything now?" Peter asked impatiently.
"If you grow too quickly, the Yautja will destroy this world," Lex warned.
"Fair enough. So you know, I fully intend to unlock human immortality," Peter said to her. "So, I can wait as long as necessary."
"Very good, Mr. Weyland," Lex smiled condescendingly.
Yautja Prime
Lex and Scarface arrived back at Yautja Prime at the mansion. The Prince came out to meet them with Naira (Eye) and the twins, Kimi (Secret) and Kanti (Sings). Scarface whose real name was Ahiga (Fighter) knelt before his father.
"The mission was accomplished," Lex reported not bothering to pay her royal husband any respect.
"Killing humans is child-play. Your humiliating capture will have to be edited out," the Prince said scornfully to Ahiga. He then turned whipping his cape as he did and left unimpressed. His three older sisters followed the Prince back inside.
Ahiga got back to his feet and sighed. "Don't worry about it. Let me tell you the stories of how many times he has been captured and defeated," Lex consoled him.
The two then walked together through the garden with Lex telling her son all about her adventures with the Prince over the years, the good, he bad, and the really ugly.
Author's Notes: Chapter is based off the video game Concrete Jungle. A number of absurd story-line elements were cut and the main character replaced. Youtube user Acidglow was very helpful in walking through the entire game. There is a huge gap between this story taking place in 2030 and the events of Prometheus in 2093.
