Kara's Pov

I couldn't remember flying back to the DEO that night it was all a blur, all i could hear was Barry's agonizing scream playing on repeat in my head as I flew, when i landed at the DEO i immediately shouted for help, and as no one likes to keep Supergirl waiting a few nurses came running over with a few stretchers, and took Barry from me, I immediately followed but a Doctor stopped me at the door, i knew I'd be in the way if they allowed me to enter but I just wanted to be next to Barry's side.

I couldn't help but start to blame myself, how stupid was I? I should of dealt with it myself, I'm the indestructible one, though I don't know how much damage I would of taken from a blast that big. It was at this moment Alex walked over like she knew what I was thinking, she stopped inches away from me with her hands on her hips.

"Stop that" Alex exclaimed giving no context of what I should be stopping.

"what" I asked confused, as I was just sat outside Barry's room, waiting for news on him.

"That thing you always do" Alex continued expecting me to know what she was on about, she must of noticed my confused look as she continued shortly after, "stop blaming yourself, quite frankly I think Barry made the right move."

What? is she serious? Barry is on a hospital bed with serious injuries and she thought he made the right move? I was about to talk when she put a hand up to me, to stop me.

Alex sighed before continuing again, "now stop glaring at me and let me explain, he made a choice to get you and him out of Harm's way, I know you think your indestructible, but your not, you can die too, we don't know what a blast that size would or could do to you, you could of died, he knew the risks going into it, and he made a choice that would be the best chance of reducing injury" Alex paused before continuing in a more gentle voice "Kara I know you…" before she could say another word the Doctor came out.

When I heard the door to Barry's room open, I immediately turned towards him, I was already expecting the worse, they haven't even spent ten minutes in there, but my fears was misplaced, he gestured us into the room, I saw Barry's face and was surprised of what I saw, his face didn't even look like he had been burned, well it did but not the 3rd degree burns he had earlier this just looked like someone throw boiling hot water on him, I turned towards the doctor and gave him a baffled look

He must have understood the un asked question I was asking, he then proceeded to pick up his clipboard of off Barry's bed and began stating "Barry Allen should be fine, his eye may remain red for a couple of days, or it may be gone by the time he wakes up, his healing is off the charts, it would have been a different story if he took that actual blast to the face but where it was just the heat, it peeled of a couple of layers of skin, for a normal human it would have been impossible to not leave a scar, but his healing abilities are quite remarkable and will heal him as if nothing had happened" he then looked up from his clip board and smiled at me and Alex then he quickly added "I will now make my leave" without giving me or Alex time to reply or thank him he was gone.

I inwardly sighed and let out a breath I did not know I was holding, It was then that i noticed Alex fidgeting next to me, she looked really nervous, so I directed my attention towards her.

"what's up Alex?" I asked getting slightly worried, I noticed Hank come over and lean on the door with a knowing look on his face.

Before Alex could reply Hank beat her to it "Alex don't"

Alex didn't give Hank chance to talk more "no Hank I can't keep this up anymore, it's not fair on Kara and it's not fair on you"

I was now very confused, what wasn't fair on me, I kept looking between them, I saw Hank's shoulders droop and he shook his head as if to disagree but didn't say another word, Alex was still fidgeting where she stood, a few moments went by and she had still said nothing.

"so, what isn't very fair in me" I ask in curios tone.

Alex takes a deep breath before starting "first I don't want you to hate Hank, he thought you had lost to much and thought his decision was the best course of action, but the guilt was slowly drowning me and I couldn't take it, Hank didn't kill Astra Kara" Alex paused allowing time for what she said to sink in, she then sobbed as she continued, " it was me Kara" I could see her hold a shaking hand over her quivering lips and my heart broke for her " I just don't want you to hate me" she had finished in between sobs.

I quietly and quickly made my way over to her and wrapped my arms around her to comfort her " I could never hate you" I whispered In her ear, I look over at Hank and see him leaving "don't" I almost shouted at him before continuing "get over here" I told him adding a glare just daring him to disobey, I was glad when he complied, I pulled him into a three way hug before speaking again "I'm so sorry Hank, I don't think I ever hated you, it was just easy to take all my anger out on you, and that was wrong, I should know better, and with what happened tonight, with what happened to Barry, I've realized I can't lose anyone else, not you, not Alex and not Barry, I hope you can forgive me", I have to admit with Alex still crying in my arms it had made me a bit emotional and found a few tears of my own making their way down my cheek.

Hank released himself out of the three-way hug, not being one for hugs in the first place, "there is nothing to apologize for" he had stated with a smile "you were grieving, I understand".

I let go of Alex and turned towards Hank "no that is no excuse for how I treated you, and I'm sorry"

Hank chuckled "then I will accept your apology, and Supergirl good job today" he then looked at Barry even though he was unconscious Hank still addressed him "and Barry thanks for bringing her home safely."

I almost burst out laughing when Barry snored as if replying "and to think I was worried about you" both Alex and Hank had laughed at that and after a second, I joined them.

Barry's pov

Ow, what the hell happened? As my mind became less misty as I became more awake I remembered what happened, damn I forgot about the heat, that had hurt like hell, but Kara was safe, and that means I'd do it again even knowing what would happen, I finally decide to open my eyes, and immediately shut them again due to the light, this time I open them slowly allowing my eyes to adjust, I feel a warm sensation in my hand and look down to see Kara holding my hand, now usually in movies, the hand would be attached to a beautiful girl whose fallen asleep waiting for the one she loves to wake up, but not Kara she was wide awake

She hadn't noticed I was awake however, I shut my eyes and prepared myself to prank her but what she did next surprised me, she was still holding my hand but she had decided to intertwine are fingers, even though it was a simple gesture I couldn't help that it felt intimate, then she began to speak.

"you fell into my arms, quite literally, at first I thought you could have been a threat, as soon as you woke up I could tell you wasn't, I don't know how, or why I just did, there was something about you that just made me smile, you were so relatable, you understood the struggles to juggle two lives, the struggles of being a superhero and the weight that brings, and somewhere along the lines I started falling for you, okay that's a lie, if I really thought about it, as soon as I saw your eyes I felt something, I never believed in love at first sight, but now I'm not so sure, and then I promised to help you home, and I will, but I feel so guilty because there had been times where I don't want to, I don't want to because then you will leave, and you're a superhero so even on the small chance that you like me back, you will leave, and I know that because I would, I wouldn't put innocent people at risk cause I want to be happy"

I noticed tears starting to land on my hand and I wanted to comfort her, I wanted to say I felt the same, but I couldn't she was right, I will have to leave and I don't know if I can find a way back, so I decided to shut my eyes tighter and lock up these feelings I had for her, not for me, but for her, because I don't want to break her heart.

I heard Kara sniffle before she continued, "today you showed me what a true hero is like, we've only known each other for just over two weeks, and you risked your life to protect me, you make me want to be greater, and in this short time you've made me a better person, so I thank you"

I heard her get up and assumed she was going to leave but she didn't she leant over me and kissed my forehead softly, my heart was beating out of my chest, I know she has super hearing, I just hope she doesn't find out I'm awake, I heard her turn and her footsteps got quieter and quieter as she was leaving the last thing I heard was "good night Barry" from Kara before I fell asleep once more.

Kara's pov

The next morning started of great I helped a girl against some bullies, I could not help but smile at the girl wearing the house of El crest on her chest, I love how I can inspire people to be greater, a flash back of me telling Barry how he made me a better person popped into my mind and I couldn't help but blush, when I got into work I found an interview of Cat playing on the tv's talking about how Supergirl inspired her and a sense of pride rose up within me.

My mood quickly turnt south as Cat asked me to find Winn, I did not expect him to be doing indecent things with Siobhan in the broom closet, sometimes I wish I didn't have x-ray vision.

"I know this looks bad and it feels wrong but when it's happening…" Winn awkwardly tried explaining before being cut off.

"eww Winn, your both consenting adults and you can do what makes you happy"

As me and Winn got back to our desks Cat Grant called everyone into her office and within seconds everyone was inside waiting for Cat to begin on the next scoop.

"alright so a source tells me we got a new super in town, apparently said figure helped Supergirl escape from a missile explosion, so we need a name, is he Supergirl's sidekick or rival? James you go get a picture of this new superhero everyone else try and find out where he came from"

As everyone was leaving I stood shell shocked, how has she known about this, the only ones who know about Barry is the Deo agents, she then saw Lucy with a confident smirk on her face, she then knew what happened, it's not an un likely story that Lucy Lane had used some of her contacts through the army to get this information.

It was a slow news day at Cat Co as no one knew where to get started on finding this new hero, so as all my work was done, I may or may not of used some of my super speed to speed it up, but can you blame me? After all it gave me more time with Supergirl activities, so I got up and told Ms. Grant I was going for my lunch.

I stopped at a nice little café right next to Cat Co and grabbed a coffee and a donut and quickly consumed them, and before long I was on my way to the Deo, before I got their I decided to do a patrol of the city which I always find myself doing, if I don't find crime I occasionally help out with children getting bullied, getting cats out of trees or even sometimes just to say hello, I liked that part of the job, I liked connecting to the people.

Before long I was back at the Deo, I was walking with Alex towards the cortex and I couldn't help but see a sly smile on her face, we kept walking a few more steps and she still hadn't said anything, she was even occasionally glancing at me with a knowing look at me, I stopped walking trying to hold in a groan as it's never good for me when Alex makes me ask what's on her mind.

"is everything okay" I asked her trying my best to look concerned.

Alex didn't reply straight away instead she turnt her body towards me with a sly smirk on her face before she began "I heard" was all she said.

She heard? "what did you hear" I found myself questioning, Alex's grin got bigger if that were even possible, it then dawned on me, but no it couldn't? could it? She is not talking about what I said to Barry last night is she, before I could spiral any further into my thoughts, she confirmed my suspicions.

"I came to get you last night, to go home, I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I didn't want to interrupt you either, but I couldn't pull myself to leave, after all my little sis is in love", as Alex was talking a warm gentle smile over took her features.

I sighed "well I guess there is no point denying it now, but there is nothing I can do!" I exclaimed, I could see Alex open her mouth but I continued cutting her off, "but we can't be together, he's going to go back home and leave me forever, plus we've just met it's crazy to think he'd like me as well" I sighed again, it was nice to talk about it with someone even if it was bit embarrassing.

Alex's face became a bit more serious as she replied "if you really love him, you'd fight for it, he managed to get here once, so there must be away to figure this out, and plus he'd be crazy not to like you, if he makes you happy, then don't give him up, it's that simple, your Supergirl, you make the impossible, possible."

I looked at Alex with awe and wonder, I was trying and failing to keep myself locked off from Barry emotionally, who would of knew all I needed was some words of encouragement to make my mind up, even if this happiness is short lived, I at least got to tell him my feelings for him, then it's up to him to make his mind up, instead of replying, I walked over to Alex and gave her a hug, minding my strength as not to hurt her, then I whispered in her ear "thank you." As we start walking towards the cortex again I see someone new there, "senator Crane, it's good to see you again" I addressed to the woman standing next to Hank as me and Alex make it to the round table in the middle of the room.

Barry' pov

I slept restlessly last night, my mind kept going over what Kara had said last night, I knew now that I'm healed, she would want me staying with her again, but I can't, I'd get to attached, but I also know how stubborn she will be about me declining, so I need to get a job and start earning some money so I can find a place to stay whilst I'm here.

After an hour of searching the web to see if I existed in this world, which by my findings I do not, or well at the very least I'm not called Barry Allen in this world, it didn't take me long to start searching for people who could help me get home, but no, there is no Harrison Wells, no Cisco Ramone and no Caitlin Snow, I am screwed.

After finding out I don't exist here, it made me realize one other problem, if I want to get a job here I need degrees, identification and a passport, It didn't take me long to realize I know someone that can do that, I was glad I got Winn's number off of Kara, I clicked on his name and waited for the ringing to stop.

"hello" I heard Winn say from the other side of the phone.

"hey man it's me, Barry, just got a question, can you possibly make identifications for me? And also any degree's that would enable me to get a CSI job here in national as I don't know how long I'll be here" as I finished I could hear him hum in satisfaction of my request.

"yeah man should be no problem, though it may take a while" he replied quite cheerily back to me.

My smile faltered however, I knew I'd have to stay with Kara for about a month after I get my job for my first pay check, and I don't know if I could keep these feelings of mine locked up for more than that even a month was pushing it, so trying not to ungrateful I replied "yeah that's fine, thanks man, just out of interest how long we talking?" I could not help but ask.

I heard him humming as if he was concentrating on the other side of the line, " 3 to 4 weeks I'd say, if I didn't have work probably could get it done sooner, but I got a lot on at work so I'd have to do it in my free time." He finished.

I sighed "that's alright, thanks for the help man, I guess I will see you when I come to collect the files" I heard a quick "no problem" and a "see you soon" but I wasn't really paying attention as I hanged up, I just saw Kara walk into the cortex with her Supergirl outfit on, I would lie if my heart didn't skip a beat when I saw her.

I walked over after taking a few breaths to calm my nerves, I heard them talking about a fire downtown, without hesitation I ran out in my still tattered flash outfit, I needed the fresh air anyway, I stopped by a shop to pick up a map as I didn't really know where I was going, however I shouldn't have bothered, as I got further into town it became obvious with all the smoke coming over the roofs.

I quickly ran in to the building and started evacuating all the people out of the building, when I was sure no one was left inside I started turning my arms in circles making two wind funnels that sucked all the oxygen out of the room extinguishing the fire, I ran outside and stopped next to the fire truck momentarily forgetting this wasn't my earth.

I was startled out of my thoughts when I heard a voice to my left "who are you" I quickly turn around to find a fire fighter standing there with a starstruck look on his face.

I couldn't help but smirk as I replied "I'm the flash" as soon as I finished Supergirl landed next to me, " beat you here Supergirl" I couldn't help but laugh when she stuck her tongue out at me.

Kara looked me up and down making me a bit flustered, "you're not giving off the best first impressions Flash" this time she smirked as she gestured to all of me.

I looked down at my attire noticing patches of skin showing through the holes on my outfit, " I think I need a new suit", as I looked at Kara she gave me this coy grin that said "oh really" I shook my head and let out a chuckle, then without warning I was gone in a Flash.

When I arrived at the Deo I quickly returned to where my civilian cloths were and changed, by the time I was ready to leave Kara was already walking into my room.

Kara smiled at me before speaking "you know that wasn't such a good first impression" she sighed before adding "nice job, maybe next time i will see you in action, I'm kind of curios on what the flash can do.

I smirked at her "don't worry, I'm sure there will be plenty of times we can team up while I'm here" I exclaimed excitedly, and I could see my excitement mirrored in Kara's expression, she was smiling wider than I ever saw her smile before, I was mesmerized by it, we stood in a comfortable silent until Kara cleared her throat.

"so, now that your all healed, do you feel like being my room mate again?" Kara asked nervously.

I know she asked just out of politeness and that she wouldn't, let me decline her offer with having nowhere else but the Deo to stay, so I put my guards up, trying to seal my emotions off as I replied, "yeah sure that would be great, until I find a place of my own that is." I replied after a few seconds of silence.

Kara tilted her head in confusion, "until you have a place to stay?" she repeated.

I gave her a kind gentle smile before explaining "I love being your flat mate, but I can't let you waste your money trying to house and feed two people with super metabolism, that isn't fair on you Kara, it would cost a fortune" I could see she was trying to interrupt and I put my hand up to stop her "I know what you're going to say, that it's no big deal but I know how much I alone spend on food, it's a lot, I already spoke to Winn to get identification and the right qualifications, so when they arrive I can start job hunting" i finished never once losing that gentle smile, I see that Kara looked saddened by this news, but I could also see that she understood what I was saying.

After a few seconds Kara tried to reason against me moving out "you could always pay rent" she replied meekly.

I chuckled "you only got a one bed room apartment, I could be here for months, I think ill need some where more permanent" I said whilst bumping my shoulders with hers, she smiled gently at me but it was nowhere near as big as the smile she showed me earlier.

Kara's pov

At this moment in time I wish I went with the more expensive apartment, when I was getting my apartment I was stuck between two, the one I got now, and the one with a spare room, at the time I thought I didn't need a spare room, I wasn't planning on living with anyone or looking for a roommate, I deeply regret that now, and as much as it hurts me to admit Barry was right, we don't know how long he's going to be here, and Its not fair to Barry for him to be sleeping on my couch for the better part of a year.

When I snapped back to the present, I saw Barry holding his tattered suit, I smiled at him, "follow me" I commanded before turning around and leaving, we came to a room a lot different to most of the rooms around the Deo, this one was filled with fabrics and materials and lots of different uniforms hung up on hooks, I finally turned back around glad to see that Barry did indeed follow me, "this is where all the suits are made, me and Winn came up with the initial design for mine but it was here where they added all the fine details, they even added the house of El crest for me as It was a bit outside my skill range to make clothing"

I could see Barry smile at me he then turned his attention to the young female sat at her desk "um hi…" he started before stopping.

I laughed as he looked at me for help "Claire" I mouthed silently.

Barry immediately turned back to Claire, " hi Claire, is it possible to get the same suit as this or as close as this as possible, make sure it's made with reinforced tripolymer as it stops it burning up" he finished taking a deep breath as he remembered to breath.

"sure thing" Claire replied already going over his previous outfit and coming up with new designs, her smile said that she loved this job and I needed to suppress the giggle as I saw her gently and carefully go over Barry's old suit which was already past repairable.

As Barry left I turned to Claire "could you make the red more bright, like the color of my cape" I questioned in a whisper, when Claire nodded I also added "also instead of all the gold lines and streaks could we change them to blue?" she gave me a questioning look before nodding, but all I did was nod back and mutter "good".

It was later in in the night and me and Barry had just finished our dinner, Barry had cooked it and I must say he is an amazing cook, we were sat on the sofa scrolling through Netflix, I had let Barry scroll through, as he was curious to see if there was anything in this earth that wasn't on his earth.

Barry startled me out my daydreaming when he gently throws a pillow at me, "what was that for I questioned getting ready to throw it back.

He put his hands up before speaking "hey I called your name twice, you weren't answering"

I throw the pillow at him anyway "sorry you were just taking sooooo long to pick something" I joked

He smirked at me "well I'm sorry your universe is boring" he continued with the banter

I gasped, "TAKE, THAT, BACK" I mocked threatened whilst turning my heat vision on slightly, which made my eyes glow with the heat making me look more menacing.

However Barry didn't back down like I expected him to " make me" he said through clenched teeth also trying to sound angry, I could see the lighting that usually trails behind him flashing in his eyes, I never knew he could do that, it looked quite amazing up close.

We sat glaring at each other before we both broke out into laughter, when we calmed down Barry spoke first "I either watched or I'm not interested in what's on here, but it's mostly the same as my Netflix back home, we don't have Harry potter on Netflix but we still have those movies that's the only different I see" Barry had explained before yawning

I looked up at the time and realized it was getting late, " we better be getting to bed, before we both fall asleep again" I got up and made my way towards my bedroom as I got there I said "good night" to Barry

"good night Kara" I hear Barry say back as I entered my room.

No one pov

At the building where the fire happened earlier that day stood a figure in a blue outfit, it looked oddly similar to Barry's outfit accept it was blue and all the fine details were red, the said figure was going through the wreckage before finding what he was looking for, he picked up this red rock before smirking evilly to himself, once he accrued the rock he sped off in a blur of blue and red, as red lightning followed behind him.

The figure arrived at an abandoned building that he had made into a lab, on one of the tables was a glass of what looked like water but it had dozens of bolts of lightning in what looked like they were trying to escape but none could get past the surface of the water like substance, he carefully submerged the red rock into the substance.

The figure then started to write down his calculations on to a paper "okay good" the figure said "the small sample of the speed force I managed to harvest from the Flash is starting to merge with the red kryptonite, if The flash comes into contact with any kryptonian who has been affected by this rock, which he most definitely will since he's living with one" he paused as he laughed "the effects would be as if he was a kryptonian as well, this will give me enough time to collect the remaining pieces of tech I need to return to my time, the Flash cannot find out who I am, not yet anyway".
