A/N: Hey everyone! Thanks so much for all of your comments and reviews. In this chapter, we delve a little further into what Carolyn meant when she mentioned the disclosure paperwork to Alex. Enjoy!
Chapter 74
Decision
Alex led the way to her office, unlocking her door and ushering the other three women inside. She closed the door and locked it, making Olivia somewhat nervous. Was there something that she didn't know about that they couldn't talk about until the hearing was over?
The blonde sat down in the black leather chair behind her desk and Olivia leaned next to her, against a small shelf where she kept most of her important law books. Casey and Carolyn sat across from both of them, bewildered looks on their faces.
"Alex, what's up?" Casey piped up first, eager to hear what the problem was. "You can't be upset about the hearing...?" Casey gestured in the general direction of the courtrooms and Alex shook her head.
"No, Casey, no. You guys did a great job. We're both extremely pleased with the hearing." She took a breath—Alex didn't get nervous often, but there was something about the way Carolyn spoke to her earlier that made her worry about the status of her relationship with Olivia as far as the disclosure paperwork was concerned. Olivia could tell there was something wrong: she made her way to Alex's side, placing her hand on Alex's back.
"Al, what's wrong?" She rubbed comforting circles on the blonde's back, encouraging her to answer.
Alex took a breath and looked across her desk. "Carolyn, what did you mean by what you said earlier? You said you were worried about Langan bringing up our relationship—which, he admitted he intended to do—but then you said when you checked the paperwork, you knew we'd be ok. Surely you couldn't have meant that everything was ok just because we signed the document, right?"
Carolyn looked somewhat confused. She opened her briefcase and shuffled through some papers as she started speaking. "Alex, you have nothing to worry about." She looked up, moving her eyes between the two of them. "Neither of you have anything to worry about, I mean. Oh! Here it is." She took out the copy of the disclosure agreement and looked down at the bottom, noting all four familiar signatures. She slid it over to Alex.
Olivia noticed right away. She couldn't tell if Alex had seen it yet or not, but she didn't want her to give anything away. The last thing they wanted was to involve Casey and Carolyn in something that could get Elizabeth Donnelley in a lot of trouble. Olivia grabbed the paper from Alex's desk and started to walk toward the door.
"Thank you both so much for all of your work. Carolyn, if you don't mind, I'm gonna make a copy of this, is that ok? I don't have one for my personal records." Her eyes sent silent messages to Alex as both of the prosecution attorneys got up out of their chairs.
"Olivia it's no big deal, just keep that one. I don't need it anymore." Casey and Carolyn made their way out of Alex's office, the door held open by Olivia. "Thank you both for your help with this hearing. Hopefully we'll have a decision today." Alex and Olivia nodded, agreeing that hopefully they would have an answer sooner rather than later.
As soon as Olivia shut the door she saw a questioning look on Alex's face. "What was that about?" She wasn't upset, but she knew that Olivia had realized something that she hadn't yet. Olivia walked over to Alex and a smile erupted on her face.
"Alex, I know I shouldn't be happy about this, and it's completely wrong, and I think that we need to talk to judge Donnelley about it, but…look at the date at the bottom of this paper." Olivia stood next to Alex and pushed the paper towards her. Alex located her signature and her mouth fell open when she saw the date: August 8th.
"So..." Alex started to speak, but couldn't form any words. She stood up and wrapped her arms around Olivia, hugging her tightly. "Why did Donnelley do this?"
"I don't know, but it wasn't dated when I signed it. So she must have done it after." They looked at each other. All of the sudden, nothing really mattered except the two of them. Olivia started speaking softly. "I know it doesn't really change anything, but," she pushed a blonde hair behind Alex's ear, "it makes me feel better about everything that happened, you know, with the press conference." Alex nodded. "I just didn't want you to get in trouble if somehow people found out that all of that happened before we had disclosed anything."
"Ch'yeah!" The blonde laughed aloud before she continued. "But now, whenever it really comes out, that we're dating, I'm going to look like an even bigger bitch for standing up there and saying what I did when the record will show that, technically, we had officially disclosed before that." Olivia stopped her rambling by kissing her hard, full on the mouth.
Alex's mind went fuzzy. Suddenly, all she could feel was Olivia's hands: one on the small of her back, pulling her unbelievably close, and the other one on her face, supporting her every movement. All Alex knew to do was respond, wrapping both arms around Olivia's neck, merging her hands to the back of the detective's head. She felt her feet leave the ground and sensed Olivia's strong hands gently push her so she was sitting on her desk top.
There was not a single thought that passed through either of their minds that was not focused completely on the other. Alex pulled her hands from Olivia's head, tracing them down the front of her body, caressing over her neck and resting above her breasts. The kisses intensified, both women breathing heavily through stifled moans into the other's mouth. "Mm." Exhale. "Liv." Kiss. "Door." Olivia tore her mouth away from Alex before she turned away, heading toward the door. But, she only took one step before she was back on Alex.
"One more." Olivia curled her hand around Alex's neck, unexpectedly pulling her into another passionate kiss. The blonde smiled into the kiss, moaning at the unexpected desperateness from Olivia. Alex could feel her core growing wet from the moan that Olivia exhaled as their lips collided against each other again. They parted and Olivia winked at Alex: the blonde could remember when that's all she hoped to look forward to—a wink or a smile from the detective she knew so well, but thought that she'd never be with. She thought about what she just said moments before—'whenever it really comes out that we're dating...' 'Dating' just didn't seem like the right word. They seemed too serious for that. Hopefully Olivia could change that sometime soon, Alex thought gleefully.
Alex watched as Olivia sprung over to the door, shutting it completely and locking it. She started to come back when Alex turned to say something else. "Is Sean out there?" Olivia opened the door and poked her head out of Alex's office. She craned her neck out in the hallway, leaning so far that one of her legs left the ground. Sean was the legal assistant for both Casey and Alex, and he always knew if they were in their offices. Olivia closed the door completely and locked it back, shaking her head no. "Turn the lights off." Alex whispered so quietly that Olivia barely heard her.
She was back on Alex in a second. The blonde reached down and pulled her tight blue pencil skirt up, shimmying it over her thighs as she maintained contact with Olivia, kissing her deeply. She spread her knees apart, dangling her legs off of her desk. Immediately Olivia moved forward, taking the place of the empty space between her legs. Alex wrapped her legs around Olivia's waist, pulling her closer as she tugged on the detective's shirt, eager to feel her body. She ran her hands through the short brown hair as she broke their kiss—both women swallowed and tried to regulate their breathing mere inches from each other. "God I wish we had time to go home." Olivia smiled at Alex as the blonde whined this thought out.
"Me too." Olivia ran her hands up and down Alex's legs. "You know, I think your legs are my favorite part of your body."
"You think? Yeah right. I see the way you look at them." Alex spoke seductively, and Olivia couldn't deny the arousal pooling in her core.
"Yeah? The same way you look at my arms?" Alex looked back into Olivia's eyes and, without blinking, responded.
"Yeah." She pulled Olivia's shirt off her body, tossing it on the desk next to her. Alex ran her hands up Olivia's arms, moaning approvingly. "And your abs." She trailed her fingertips down the solid muscles rippling under her olive colored skin. "And your back." Alex's hands wound their way around to her back, pulling her closer.
The detective leaned her head down, brushing Alex's blonde locks out of her way, and sucked tenderly on that spot on Alex's neck she knew drove her wild. Olivia felt Alex's hand hold her head there, her own desire reaching a peak. "Couch, Liv." Olivia's lips pulled Alex's creamy skin from her neck, releasing it with a soft pop. She helped Alex down off of the desk and took her hand, leading her to the couch on the other side of the room. "Now, detective," Alex spoke softly, unbuttoning Olivia's pants, "we're going to have to be very quiet. Do you think that will be possible?"
Olivia leaned in to Alex, the attorney expecting a kiss. However, the detective stopped an inch away from Alex, whispering softly, almost speaking directly to her lips. "I don't know, Ms. Cabot. I'm generally not the one who makes very much noise." Their eyes met and Alex smiled as she felt Olivia pull her down to the couch, desperate to touch her. Olivia sat, pulling Alex onto her lap. As she did so she ran her hands up Alex's legs, pushing her skirt inside out, bunching it all together atop her waist. She dipped her hand between them, pushing Alex's white thong to the side as she heard Alex moan through a whisper.
"Olivia." It was a surefire way to get the detective's attention—she almost never called her by her full first name. Brown eyes shot up to meet the blues above them.
"Yeah, honey?" Alex's hands supported Olivia's chin, tilting her head upward to meet her own eyes.
"I love you." Alex smiled as she said it, feeling Olivia's hand cupping her core.
"I love you, Alexandra. More than anything in this world." Olivia whispered this as Alex shrugged her jacket off and unbuttoned the top 4 buttons on her dress shirt. The detective separated Alex's shirt with her head, finding the swell of her breasts and sucking lightly above her nipple as her hand met the warm liquid awaiting her.
Alex doubled over, unable to hold her own weight upright on Olivia. She tucked her head into the crook of Olivia's neck, smelling the familiar, natural scent of the detective: a citrus, earthy scent mixed with just a hint of chlorine. She moaned softly when she felt Olivia enter her lovingly. It was surprising to Alex how tender and soft Olivia could be sometimes—the blonde didn't even need to be looking at her to feel the love in her movements. "You feel so good, baby." Alex whispered this directly into Olivia's ear, causing a tremor to rush through her body. Olivia repositioned Alex, lifting her up and laying her down on her back, the detective over top of her.
The soft, alabaster skin peeked through Alex's separated white and blue pinstriped shirt, the attorney grasping her own breasts over her bra. Olivia continued her pace inside Alex—she was amazed how welcoming her girlfriend was all the time for her. She was always ready, always wet, and it turned Olivia on immensely when her fingers delved into the waiting velvet, stroking Alex's insides. After a few moments and a few whispered moans, Olivia knew Alex was growing close. She removed her fingers and lowered her head, tasting Alex as she hummed in approval.
"Oh! Liv, baby." Her hands found the back of Olivia's head as her legs rose up off the couch, allowing Olivia's tongue to please her at a new angle. Alex's moans were growing louder and louder, so Olivia traced a hand up to her mouth, partially covering it. Alex took Olivia's hand into her mouth, sucking on two of her fingers as she felt herself beginning to climax. "Liv. Liv baby." She moved Olivia's hand over her breast, the detective kneading it for her own pleasure.
"Hmm?" Olivia knew Alex could feel her humming against her wet lips and felt the blonde squirm underneath her.
"I'm gonna cum baby." Olivia smiled and awaited the release, which came shortly after the whisper left Alex's lips. Olivia replaced her thong back over Alex's center and trailed three or four wet kisses over the blonde's thighs, wiping excess wetness from her mouth and chin over those legs she loved so much.
"God, Olivia." Alex grabbed Olivia's face, pulling her up, wrapping her legs around the detective's open pants, grinding against them. "I love kissing you after you go down on me." She delved her tongue into Olivia's mouth, moaning as she did so. The detective's eyes rolled back in her head—when Alex talked like that, it did something intense to her.
"Switch me, baby." Olivia stood, obeying Alex. The attorney stood and smoothed out her skirt, leaving her shirt unbuttoned for Olivia to look down on. Olivia removed her pants and black lace boy short underwear, leaving her in only her bra. Alex made quick work of that, attaching herself to the brunette below her as quickly as she possibly could. Olivia hissed in pleasure as she felt Alex's tongue circle her erect nipple before she took it into her mouth, sucking it lightly.
At the worst possible time in the history of cell phones, Alex's rang out. She reached to silence it immediately, and when she picked it up to look at the screen, she had two missed text messages. "Shit! Donnelley's back." Olivia's head fell back over the arm of the couch, with a sigh. "We've got four minutes." Before the whole sentence even left her mouth, Olivia felt Alex enter her, eliciting a surprised moan and smile from the detective. Immediately, Alex began her rhythm as she whispered into Olivia's ear. "I promise I'll take my time with you tonight," she licked Olivia's earlobe, tugging at it with her teeth, "if you cum for me quickly right now."
Two minutes later, Olivia came underneath Alex. They both jumped up and redressed, helping the other straighten out any clothes that may have shifted or become misplaced. They frantically ran around the office, finding spare pieces of clothes and papers that they needed to take to court. By the time they left the office, they had exactly one minute to get to the courtroom.
Casey and Carolyn smirked when they saw Alex and Olivia enter the courtroom at a light jog, taking their seats they had sat in before. Donnelley cleared her throat and began to speak as they sat down.
"I examined each part of this hearing while I was deliberating, and it is, in my opinion, obvious that detective Benson responded with equal and necessary force during the events of September 5th." Alex could feel Olivia let out a breath she had been holding in. "Mr. Conrad, there is indisputable evidence, both eyewitness and medical, that you initiated this tussle in an attempt to evade the police. Detective Benson acted accordingly in her pursuit. Also, if I could, I'd indict you for perjury while we're at it for claiming you did nothing to provoke such an attack." She paused and Alex squeezed Olivia's hand. "The assault charge will not be dropped from your criminal court case scheduled to start in February. You will be remanded to Rikers until your court date." She banged the gavel, stood up and exited the courtroom. A wave of relief swept over Olivia as she stood up, shaking Casey and Carolyn's hands.
Conrad was escorted out of the courtroom, handcuffed and taken to Rikers Island. Trevor Langan approached Olivia and Alex, extending his hand to both of them—neither took it. "Listen, can we call a truce, here? I like you both, you guys know that." Alex and Olivia looked at each other, and then back at him. Olivia took the blonde's hand into her own, walking down the courtroom aisle.
"Whatever, Trevor." Alex waved her hand over her head, exiting the courtroom with Olivia.
The brunette turned to Alex, speaking softly. "So, what was that you said about taking your time with me tonight?" Alex smiled and turned toward her.
"You have anything to finish upstairs?"
"I should probably go up there, yeah." Olivia furrowed her brow and rubbed the back of her neck, disappointingly.
"Well, I'm gonna leave here in about ten minutes." Alex closed the space between them, lowering her voice significantly as Olivia glanced at her watch. "And, if you can get home within the next hour or so, I promise I'll make it worth your while." Olivia's eyes grew wide as they smirked at each other. Alex leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek before she turned around to walk back to her office, her ass swaying a little more than it normally did.
