So, the other day I received a very sweet request from ehedgemond for more Lukanette stories, and so I decided to do this one. I hope you all enjoy.
Jay cuddled closer into his blanket on the couch as the storm brewed outside. He quivered slightly with every roll of thunder, and tried to listen to the steady strumming of his father's guitar as the rain began to beat against the roof.
"When is Momma coming home?"
"Very soon." Luka answered, pausing his melody to follow his son's eyes out the window. "Don't worry, Your momma is a very capable woman. There's not a storm in all of Paris that can stop her. She'll be home before bedtime."
Jay took a deep breath and shivered slightly, but Luka sensed the pounding of his heart and understood his fears more intimately than words could express. Gently, he fixed his eyes on his small son and strummed a gentle chord absentmindedly
"You know..." he began, "your mom and I had one of our first real dates on a night like this."
Jay turned his eyes from the window to his father as a lightning strike momentarily illuminated the sky.
"Would you like to hear about it?"
Jay nodded, his small mess of black hair bouncing to the rhythm of his nod.
"Alright, let's see..."
Luka played a few major chords before beginning the melody of the last song he had heard that night. It was fixed in his mind, intertwined with the memory so tightly he could not recall one without the other.
Oh, btw, the story is going to be set up in 2-part increments. You will have one chapter that is a present day snap-shot, and then it will be followed by a story from Marinette and Luka's past.
