"Okay...time for the last semifinal match. Whoever wins this will move on to face the newbies in the finals. Who will it be? The Alolan and Unovan Champions Twilight and Leia? Or the Galarian Champion and her mentor, Titanica and Hope?" Leon said.
"Well, he's not wasting words, that's for sure." Twilight said.
"Well, he has big shoes to fill after Chairman Rose stepped down and all." Leia said.
"You know come to think of it, didn't Peony kinda look like him or was it just me?" Ajna said to herself.
Both teams stepped up to the field.
"Sorry to say this to you two, but since Jexi's waiting for us in the finals, we're not gonna hold back." Hope said.
"And I do have my image as Champion to protect here." Titanica said. "So...don't be surprised if I come out strong."
"You may send out your first Pokemon!" the ref called out.
"Go, Salazzle!" Twilight said.
"Alrighty. I think I'll start with Swanna!" Leia said.
"Let's go, Boltund!" Titanica said.
"It's showtime, let em' feel the sting!" Hope said before grunting as he threw out his first ball as out came a mass of spikes similar to Mareanie, but larger, longer and more in numbers, as the main body was smaller.
"Hey, Hope's Mareanie evolved!" Leanne said. "...into something disproportionate."
"A Toxapex." Starlight said.
"Okay...let the battle...begin!" the ref called out.
"Boltund! Start out with Dig!" Titanica said as Boltund dug underground.
"Toxapex, hunker down with Baneful Bunker!" Hope said as Toxapex domed itself up.
"Let's pick up some Tailwind!" Leia said. Swanna whipped up a windstorm that increased its speed.
"Salazzle, use Fire Lash!" Twilight said as Salazzle whipped Toxapex with a flaming whip attack.
"Now!" Titanica said as Boltund came right out from under Salazzle and took it out with one strike.
"Dang...she really has trained her Pokemon to a whole new level." Twilight said, calling Salazzle back. "Go, Lycanroc." she said swapping out her Pokemon.
"You good, Toxapex?" Hope asked as Toxapex popped open two of its tendrils and gave a mock thumbs up. "Good, now let's get in there! Use Sludge Bomb on Swanna!"
Toxapex lobbed its attack at Swanna and hit it dead on, poisoning it in the process.
"Oh, that's going to be a problem. Air Slash!" Leia said.
"Support Swanna with Rock Tomb!" Twilight said as rocks started falling around Toxapex, trapping it.
"Hang tough, Toxapex!" Hope called. "Wide Guard, quick!" Toxapex shielded itself again.
"He's on the defensive again?" Glimmer asked.
"Toxapex is a defensive Pokemon, so Hope's making sure it's okay by protecting itself so it can strike back afterwards." Vashyron said.
"Sadly that move he made won't work." Starlight said. "Wide Guard only works against moves that hit multiple targets."
"And since Air Slash is single-target…" David started.
"He practically wasted a move." Cheetah said.
Toxapex was then cut up by Air Slash as the rocks fell on it, damaging it at the same time until it fainted and it was recalled.
"Moves like Wide Guard and Helping Hand are useful in Double and sometimes Triple Battles, but… That's what makes them situational." Cheetah said.
"Well, that was a bad matchup… but at least I was able to poison Swanna." Hope said. "Time to go on the offensive. Go, Cradily!"
Hope sent out his next Pokemon, a green plant like being with petals on its neck.
"Hey, I've never seen that Pokemon before." Indigo said.
"I have." David said as he took out his Pokedex for the entry.
"Cradily, the Barnacle Pokemon and the evolved form of Lileep. A Grass and Rock type. Cradily's body serves as an anchor, preventing it from being washed away in rough seas. This Pokémon secretes a strong digestive fluid from its tentacles." David's Pokedex said.
"Use Energy Ball on Lycanroc!" Hope called as Cradily blasted Lycanroc with said move, garnering a Super Effective hit.
"Switching Targets now? Fine. Boltund, use Spark on Swanna!" Titanica said as Boltund rushed and ran into Swanna at high speed, taking it out.
"Alrighty then… Next is...This one!" Leia said, sending out Virizion.
"I'm always happy to fight for you, Leia." Virizion said.
"Boltund, use Dig once again!" Titanica said as Boltund dug underground before rising up to strike Lycanroc, finishing it.
"Guess I better switch it up to. Go!" Twilight said, sending out Decidueye as her last Pokemon.
"Virizion, show Boltund you mean business with Leaf Blade!" Leia said.
"Of course!" Virizon said, slashing at Boltund.
"Cradily, let's do what we can on Decidueye! Use Earth Power!" Hope called as Cradily blasted Decidueye with the ground type move.
"Too bad Decidueye is also a Grass Type. Use Leaf Blade!" she said as Decidueye slashed Boltund with its Leaf Blade, finishing it.
"Return!" Titanica said. "Go, Magmortar!" she said swapping out her Pokemon.
"Oh, they're in trouble now." Catra smirked.
"Let's show them your power! Use Lava Plume!" Titanica said as Magmortar hit all nearby Pokemon with its flames, doing great damage to all the grass Pokemon out, including Cradily.
"That is a risky move, I know it's also a Rock type, but Cradily's defenses aren't that good against something like Lava Plume." Sectonia said.
"Guess we'll have to take the initiative. Strike down Cradily with Sacred Sword!" Leia said.
Virizion cut down Cradily with Sacred Sword as it returned.
"Down to my last one. But thankfully I saved the best for last. C'mon down, partner!" Hope called to the sky.
A loud screech was heard as Lunala flew down from the sky and landed in front of Hope.
"Let's do this, Lunala!" Hope said as Lunala screeched in approval. "It's payback time for Toxapex and Cradily. Use Night Daze on Decidueye!"
Lunala let loose a pitch black wave of energy that hit Decidueye dead on, effectively damaging him and finishing it.
"And I am out." Twilight said.
"Meaning...we can double team Leia. Now, Fire Blast!" Titanica said as Magmortar fired large flames at Virizion.
"Doesn't look like we're gonna win at this rate. But…" Leia said returning Virizion. "I have to at least try." she said as she sent out Terrakion.
"For you Leia, I'd gladly fight till my last breath!" Terrakion said. "Bring it on, kids!"
"You asked for it! Lunala, Moongeist Beam!" Hope called as Lunala fired her signature attack.
"Since it's just me battling...I think it's safe to use this! Earthquake!" Leia said.
Terrakion made the earth tremble as it damaged Lunala and Magmortar.
"Follow that up with Rock Slide!" Leia said.
"Fly up and dodge em, Lunala!" Hope said as Lunala took to the air and evaded the boulders with Expert flying. However, the same could not be said for Magmortar as it fell.
"Return!" Titanica said. "Well...it's come to this huh? Let's show them our power, Calyrex!" she said sending out Calyrex riding on Spectrier.
"At last we meet, Calyrex. To be quite honest...I've been looking forward to a chance to face you in battle." Terrakion said.
"Really now. Suffice to say...don't feel too disappointed if you end up on the ground before I start trying." Calyrex said.
"Heh. Like type effectiveness is going to stop me from trying." Terrakion said.
"Good." Calyrex said. "Let's go! Astral Barrage!" he said unleashing a barrage of ghosts at Terrakion.
"Let's start things off with Stone Edge!" Leia said.
Terrakion grunted as he fired back at Calyrex's attack with a wave of stones, clashing against it.
"Don't forget about me, you two! Lunala, Shadow Ball!" Hope called as Lunala blasted at Terrakion from above.
"Energy Ball!" Calyrex said firing a ball of grass energy into Terrakion.
"Only got enough energy for one attack. Guess I better make this count. Another Rock Slide!" Leia said.
"Hey, Alice. Let's finish this with some style." Hope said.
"What do you mean?" Titanica asked.
"A Combo Attack. Lunala's Z-Move fused with Calyrex's Astral Barrage." Hope said.
"Okay." Titanica said.
"Astral Barrage!" Calyrex said.
"Go, Lunala!" Hope said activating his Z-Ring as Lunala powered up Menacing Moonraze Malestrom. "When the Beast that Covers the Moon unites her power with the King who Rides in Shadow, the power of the darkness fends away all evil!"
"Fusion Move! Astral Moonraze Stormflare!" all three called as Calyrex's ghosts fused with Lunala's beams as they became a meteor shower of dark energy that exploded all around Terrakion.
"Heh… Sorry, Leia. Guess I couldn't cut it after all." Terrakion said. He then fainted under the pressure of the attack.
"Winners! Our Champion Titanica, and Hope the Victor!" the ref called.
"Phew…" Hope breathed. "That was a great battle. I guess I kinda put myself at a disadvantage starting out, though."
"You did, but what matters is we made it into the finals." Titanica said.
"You'd better be careful there. Jexi and Cheetah may be new to battling, but they've been picking up on strategies by watching us. I don't think they'll be willing to just hand the win. Especially with the kind of people they're like." Leia said.
"Don't worry. I know Jexi well enough to know it won't be easy to beat him. He and I fought a ton of times before, but now he's getting a little more serious with me." Hope said. "So I'm not backing down."
"Besides, we haven't even shown our best stuff to the crowd just yet." Titanica said.
