Sorry it's been so long, but life's been hectic. Everyone knows that right now. I'm back at school and the work has been piling up. I'm doing my best to try and write, but school is a priority right now
So, this was a prompt from a guest, basically a drunk Erin with Jay looking after her. I don't normally write these kinds of stories, but I thought I would try some new ideas. I apologise in advance if this is bad
As always leave a review if there are any ideas you have for a one-shot or if you want to see a multi chapter, drop a PM of any ideas you have.
It had been a good day. They had finally closed a case that they had been working on all week. The criminals were behind bars and the cops were in the bar, drinking more than humanly possible. They had met at Molly's for light drinks as usual, but the buzz of enthusiasm and pride in their work spurred them on. The karaoke machine had been brought out and it was a good night for everyone all round.
Jay was the only one who wasn't constantly knocking drinks back. He liked to keep himself sober so that he could keep an eye out for Erin. He loved her more than anything and he didn't want something to happen to her and him not be able to do anything about it.
His eyes drifted from Kevin and Adam, who were sitting opposite him, to the bar where Erin and Kim sat. They were throwing their heads back in exaggerated laughter, he could hear it from where he sat. She looked so pretty with her brown hair floating down her back and her petite shoulders shaking with laughter.
"Yo, Jay!" he was pulled back by Adam's voice and it didn't sound like it was the first time it had been called.
"You want another beer, lover boy?" Kevin chimed as he stood up.
Jay glared at him as the two men chuckled. "No, I think I'm going to call it a night." he said, standing up and pulling his jacket from the back of his chair.
"Oh, come on, stay a little longer." Kevin slapped his shoulder.
Jay shook his head, "No really, I'm going to go now." he said, taking another look at the two women still drinking.
"See you later then." Adam called out as he made his way over to Erin.
He could smell the alcohol coming off of Erin from behind her. "Hey, I'm going to go now. Do you want a lift?" he asked her.
Erin turned her head towards Jay, "No, I think I'll drive." she slurred, finishing off her drink. She stood up and swayed dangerously. Jay caught a hold of Erin around the waist and held her steady.
"Definitely not." Jay told her with a chuckle. "Come on, let's go. I'll drive." he said, keeping his hand wrapped around her waist as they left the bar. Jay guided her out to his truck and began helping her into the passenger seat.
"Jaaaaay, I can do it myself." she said, accusingly.
"Okay." Jay said, holding up his hands defensively as he stepped back. Erin tried to get up to the seat, but failed miserably. Jay ended up helping her up before going round to the driver's side.
"See, I told you I could do it myself." Erin said as he shut his door, starting the engine.
Jay laughed, "Of course you could." he replied sarcastically, as he pulled out onto the street.
Erin stumbled through her apartment door after stumbling with the key for a couple of minutes before handing it off to Jay. He let them both in and went straight to Erin's fridge and pulled out a bottle of water.
"Let's go to bed, Jay." Erin said pulling at his arm.
"You're drunk." he told her, smirking slightly.
"I'm not. I promise." Erin kept pulling at his arm. She let go and stumbled back, but Jay caught her before she ended up through the wall and in the next-door apartment.
"Come on, let's get you into bed." Jay said, helping her down the hall and into the bedroom. He gently removed her heels and lay her in the bed under the covers. Next, he went into the bathroom and found the aspirin she kept in her medicine cabinet and put it next to the bottle of water on her nightstand. "Good night." he said, moving to leave the room.
"Jaaaay, staaay." Erin slurred and before Jay could respond, she spoke again, "Pleeease!" he pleaded.
"Fine." Jay said, toeing off his shoes and climbing onto the bed.
Erin immediately snuggled up to his side, "Thanks, Halstead." she grumbled before falling asleep with her head on his chest.
"Anytime." he said before falling asleep himself.
