* Lots of violence and gruesome imagery

Prologue

Orihime's mouth fell open in a silent scream when she felt herself be impaled from behind from the tree branch she had been thrown into. The pain was agonizing and unspeakable. Her vision swam as the cold, piercing feeling over took her. Her head hurt and her lungs were burning as the demon she was facing once more charged at her.

It seemed the Wandenreich's warning had come true. The Barragon's demon army had come at last.

She was going to die.

As the grotesque creature grew closer, however, it was suddenly engulfed in a familiar, bright green light and annihilated. The red head found herself blinking and trying to focus around her pain.

Ulquiorra. He was alive!

Or at least she thought it was him. Never before had she seen him in such manner. His black hair was longer. His green eyes had turned yellow and black. There were two bone white horns protruding from his head and the tear scars on his face had turned from a faded lines into big black angry marks. The most alarming features, however, was the gaping hole, protruding with black ichor where his heart should have resided and the two bulbous wings folded over his back.

The sight was a truth Orihime finally had to admit to herself. Ulquiorra was a demon.

Behind him stood another creature with a similar hole in his chest, although his hair was blue and there was a partial bone like mask on part of his face.

"You know this bitch, Murcielago?" the blue haired creature asked crassly as the two came to stand over her prone form.

Orihime wanted to say his name and reach out, but it was getting to difficult to breath and her mouth was full of blood.

"Yes," Ulquiorra answered dispassionately, while continuing to study her and her fatal wound. Up close, Orihime realized that he was not wearing pants, rather the everything below his waste was covered in thick black fur and that his hands and feet had taken on animalistic qualities with talons and more black fur.

Without warning, she released a blood curdling scream when Ulquiorra reached down and non too gently pulled her off of the tree branch that had pierced her. Instantly her chest began to seep out with blood as her heart staggered in her chest and her lungs burned. She was helpless to resist when Ulquiorra gathered her up and began steadily trekking towards the hoard of demons and flames.

"She is my mortal wife."
