CHAPTER THREE
"What did they say?"
"Too much. And not enough." Officer Alavez sighed. Laid out on his desk in front of him was a blank report from last night's incident at Jason Dilaurentis' along with other folders from his sister's open murder case.
At Detective Wilden's raised eyebrow, Alavez continued. "It's a mess. I don't even know where to begin with all of this" He waved a hand at the paperwork sprawled before him. Wilden perched on Alavez' desk and peered at the files.
"Well start with the 'they said too much' part."
"The Marin girl said they broke into Jason DiLaurentis house looking for some videos. Breaking and entering is a crime. Jason DiLaurentis is in critical condition so I haven't spoken to him. If he says the girls broke into his house and he was defending himself, well with him having a hole in his gut, his story would be credible and the Marin girl just confirmed. We would need to arrest the girls."
"Okay we all know there is something really suspicious with those four. Maybe we are finally going to get to the bottom of their involvement with her murder." Wilden reasoned as he pointed to a picture on the desk of Alison. He then looked towards the direction of the holding cells before asking, "What's the situation with Thomas?"
"That's where it gets even more complicated." Alavez sighed. "The police went to the Dilaurentis house because of a call saying they spotted Ian Thomas forcing the girls into the house at gunpoint, so kidnapping. The police get there and sure enough Thomas is there and even tried to run out the back door when the police burst in the front. They found Jason unconscious and bleeding in one room and the "kidnapped" girls in another room huddled together on a mattress. They were dirty and injured. Jenkins said it looked like they just been through war."
"So we at least have Thomas. Has he confessed to anything?"
"No. He's only asked for a lawyer and worse, last I checked, he's claiming he was set up."
"Set up how?"
"He won't say."
"But the caller said they saw him force the girls into the house at-
"Gunpoint. I know. Only we didn't find a gun on him and the Marin girl said they broke into the house."
"I gotta tell you, Alavez, this isn't sounding complicated to me at all. To me it sounds like those four girls are the ones that need to be arrested." Wilden said.
"It is complicated…
"Actually it seems pretty simple to me and has from the beginning." Wilden got up from the desk to grab a chair. He set it in front of Alavez' desk and sat down before beginning again but this time in a lower voice. "It's only because they are four really pretty girls from upstanding families that's had us looking at everyone else but them this whole time. I can't tell you how many statements I have from classmates that said Allison DiLaurentis was a conniving bitch who terrorized the school and the other four followed her around like puppies. Well maybe they too were being terrorized by Allison and decided to do something about it. They killed her and then when her body was found went around planting evidence on other people like Toby Cavanaugh and Ian Thomas because they knew people would believe a creepy guy like Toby or an older man not wanting people to know he was messing around with a young girl would be a more believable killer than them. Maybe Jason DiLaurentis was a threat to them so they staged it to look like Ian kidnapped them, brought them to Jason's house, killed Jason, and was planning on killing them too except a phone call that they probably made sent the police to the house to rescue them just in time."
"What about their injuries?"
"They probably did it to each other as part of their plan!"
"Sounds like you've been thinking about this awhile."
"It's pretty much all I've been thinking about. I've liked them for this from the very beginning but my theories kept getting turned down by someone or another and then mama Hastings got me kicked off the case completely probably because she knew I was getting close to proving her daughter was guilty."
"Well as much as I'd love to wrap up this case in a neat bow and your theory certainly does that, it's still complicated for the very person you just said."
"Who? Spencer Hastings?"
"Yep."
"Why? Because her parents are lawyers? So what. If anything, it's why she's such a good liar. I'd bet she's the mastermind behind all this. You can't believe a word she says."
"But that's just it. She's not saying anything. And she may not have to if her injuries support what Marin said."
"Like I said, they probably beat each other up."
"No. Marin said Thomas raped Spencer Hastings. They haven't done a rape kit yet but if we find any evidence of Ian Thomas on that girl, your theory becomes a lot less neat and the whole thing becomes way more-
"Complicated. " Wilden finished.

"Please, please, you don't have to do this." She pleaded as he shoved her down on the mattress on her back, her tied hands making it impossible to soften the landing.
"You should be thanking me." He replied while unzipping his pants. "At least you won't die a virgin." He joked while dodging her flailing legs. Unphased by her attempts at kicking him away from her, he took her ankles in a firm grip and used them to spread her legs and settle himself between them. She tried to brace herself but was still unprepared for the amount of pain he caused when he thrust inside her. He was rough on purpose-wanting to hurt her as much as possible because this was an act of hate, not just lust. She could feel every ounce of his hatred for her and it made her long for the time when he would finally kill her.
When Spencer opened her eyes, the scene in her head was replaced by one that was unfamiliar. Then suddenly, like bolts of lightning, more images invaded her mind. Aria's back running in front of her. A wooden floor rushing up towards her face. Ian grunting on top of her. Hannah crying. Emily crying. Aria crying. An unfamiliar woman dressed in white shining a light in her eye. She squeezed her eyes shut again and then opened them blinking rapidly before scanning the place she was now.
A hospital. Which meant she survived and Ian hadn't killed her. That realization didn't make her happy. It didn't make her sad either. All she felt was empty.

"You couldn't keep it in your pants, you dumb shit!" The voice hissed on the other end of the phone.
"What are you talking about?"
"Spencer Hastings." The voice spat "You fucked her."
"Relax. I didn't get a chance to finish. They won't find anything if they exam her."
"Shut up, you moron. I had the perfect story. As long as you kept saying you were set up and Jason says they broke in and tried to kill him, we'd all be off scot free and those four bitches would be the ones going down for Alison's murder. But you ruined it with your stupid dick!"
"I told you I didn't finish. They won't find-"
"You better hope they don't. Because it's not just your cum, idiot. Unless you're gonna tell me you shave down there, one pube can destroy us all."
"But...I...shit...what do we do? What has she said?" Ian stammered.
"Nothing yet. Thank god. We may still have time. I can either try and find a way to get to her here or I can alter the rape kit report."
"Did Emily Fields get examined?"
"Emily? Why dickhead? Did you rape her too!"
"Not me." Ian defended. "Jason, maybe. I don't know how far he got. I was kinda busy with Spencer."
"God you two are fucking idiots! I'll tell you this, I am NOT going down for this."
"I'm sorry. Look maybe we can say that the girls seduced us as part of their plan. I'll just say Spen-"
"NO! You are not gonna fucking say anything. Just keep asking for a lawyer and exercising your right to remain silent. If they find anything on those girls, I'll take care of it and if I can't well I'll fucking handle that too."
