Chapter 1 – Downfall
The world was in chaos. The oceans raging, the sky full of thunder and lightning, rain pouring the from the cloud covered sky. You couldn't tell if it was midnight or the middle of the afternoon. The Empire State Building was reduced to a pile of ash and ruin and Olympus with it. Gaia shook the ground with enough force to bring it crumbling down piece by piece and broke every throne and killed all the gods. Few managed to escape, only to fade away slowly without Olympus.
Hestia escaped while not having a seat of power, her life is tied to the hope of the demigods and the hearth. While the hearth on Olympus was destroyed she still lived barely. Hades not being connected to Olympus was only slightly weakened by the loss of the rest of the gods. Hades saved Hestia keeping her safe in the underworld where Gaia had no control.
The only other survivor was Artemis, who stumbled into the hunters' camp.
Line break
Percy was cold, despite the seven being huddled together. They were caged like the rest of the demigods and left out in the rain where the monsters could see them. Gaia kept them alive, why? Percy didn't know but he knew that his life was over. Percy looked to the sky and for the first time realized why he was so cold. The rain was hitting him, falling in his eyes and making his clothes wet. His passive ability over water not working. He tried focusing to stop the rain from hitting him and his friends but he never got the familiar pull of his gut. The rain didn't obey him anymore. That's when he knew that the gods had died and along with them their godly blood in him no more than a clear sighted mortal with impressive swordsmanship. If this was any other time he would've been happy to not be a demigod, to not be lined up for the next great prophecy. But now his life has only one thing left in it that's certain. It won't last very much longer. At least that's what he thought until he heard a hunting horn. Artemis' hunting horn, the battle call of the hunters.
So this is just a little teaser chapter because I felt bad putting up the new story without something for it but it probably won't be updates for a while because I'm still planing out most of the plot. I'll be updating The Dragon Hunter but this story will most likely not be updated for a while.
