The Final Installment of a six part series.
To save a world, I need to KILL a Hero to REVIVE them?
The Hero's Death
The sun rose over the horizon to shine on a field of flowers, the rain from the previous night clinging to the petals before falling to the earth below. The skies above clear without a cloud to block the light, an idyllic sight for all who would come across it and the last morning before it would be forever scarred.
Upon this land, before the sun sets over the horizon, a great battle will have taken place that would decide the fate of worlds. As a mobile school of heroes made their way across the land, a horde of dragons lay in wait with only one mission in mind.
To kill a hero.
Target the arms used to lay new tracks and force the thing to a stop, use Water and Light attuned Dragons to flood the thing in holy water and keep the thing pinned down to stop and quick escapes. That was their opening move to kill Izuku and it seemed to work, for a time.
There was a long discussion on how they were going to go about it all, together they realized a harsh truth, their first attempt would likely be their best and potentially only chance to kill Izuku. If he survived he would actively focus on getting stronger and there was no telling what he would become then.
His students would be an issue, even if they somehow managed to succeed in killing him there was a high chance his students would seek vengeance for their teacher. Despite that, doing to them as little harm as possible was the agreed upon route.
Using what they could Salvage from the Lizard People's ancient tech and powerful alchemy kept locked away in the Dragon Castle Kyle was able to combine the knowledge base of both to create powerful personal weapons with the most of them being firearms and androids.
They were able to recruit the survivors of the Lizard People to join their cause for this one battle, in total they numbered a little over one thousand souls.
They could only spare just under a hundred souls for the fight, a more than fair number considering the limited number of weapons available.
Counting their team, the Lizard People, Androids and Dragons they numbered two hundred and sixty six strong army.
Even then, it was barely enough.
Izuku taught his students well and they were able to hold their ground, those who became teachers of the hero school led their students against the attackers to the best of their ability with some shining more than others.
Still, the hero killers were able to make headway.
Kyouya led the main attack force with Butch, regaining his old body through the mixture of Alchemia Particules and Eldwater with his armour acting as an incubation chamber, as Vanguard. Kyouya used a spare sword to battle with his cheat item sealed in a sheath to prevent thieves from stealing it, Butch for his part made liberal use of the guns provided to him to provide cover fire and pin down those that stood against them.
Kyle stood with the rear guard, repairing fallen androids to the best of his ability and healing the wounded who returned from the frontlines, his artillery raining down holy attacks to saturate the area with it. With Kyle was the lancer who was with Kazuma's party originally and his bard turned life partner, they were mainly there to protect Kyle and secure the perimeter to make sure no one snuck out.
Shadow kept to the skies, on their rear the image of a radio tower was on prominent display, working with smaller dragons to feed battlefield information, the sky was covered in black clouds that hid the light of the sun and the dragons above.
Meghan meanwhile used the chaos going on to sneak in to track down Izuku, Ophidian's Cube chained to her waist to keep it secure so she could use its power to get the opening she needed.
However, when she felt the entire building began to shake she knew something was wrong. The first clue to what was happening was the rainbow of energy moving through the entire structure like veins, the second clue was with Shadow using their magic to share what they were seeing.
The whole skeletal school train was changing, reshaping into something else, becoming distinctively humanoid with the front car slipping into the middle of a torso with a head. Four lights could be seen in the now giant made of bone, one in each major limb, it began firing magic attacks.
The only real course of action left was to openly use the power of Dragons, the Lizard People transformed into Dragons first with several Androids climbing onto their backs.
Using Shadow's information Meghan saw that the four lights all converged into the main torso, looking at the floor she followed the pulsating rainbow veins to their source as attempts were made to destroy the crystals supplying the power to the giant bone mecha.
In the end, Meghan was able to stab Izuku in the brain and heart simultaneously with Ophidion providing badly needed help as the combined force of Kyouya's finishing move and the Dragon King Lious's Exalted Glory hit the control room both Meghan and Izuku were in. The combined attack engulfed them both as Izuku's school fell.

Izuku woke up with a start, springing to his feet he looked around as he found himself in a strangely familiar area covered in mist and a checkered floor. Looking around he saw the prone form of the assassin who attacked him from behind when he was defending his students and staff.
The assassin groaned as they began to push themselves up, Izuku reached out to his magic to find it gone. As he tried to call upon it he realized why this place seemed so familar, it was the same place he met Eris after he died.
"Welcome, aspiring Hero"
Looking up Izuku saw a pink haired woman descending from a pillar of light, her red eyes met his green with relief and regret.
"I am the goddess Sali, she who will return you to your proper time and place, as well as-"
"Girl, quit with the grand standing" Izuku turned away from Sali to see the assassin had gotten back on their feet, getting a better look he saw the assassin was a cute girl "I didn't go through with killing him just for you to go over the time limit at the finish line"
"Wait!" Izuku turned back to Sali, taking a far more cautious stance with her "What she mean? It almost sounds like you were the one who sent her and her goon after me and my school"
The Goddess Sali fake coughed into her hand "Well, you see there was an administation mistake in Heaven and-"
"Izuku!"
Emerging from the darkness that surrounded them a girl with silver hair wearing a blue dress, a dress that distinctly looked thrown on in a hurry, panted as it seemed like she ran. She looked relieved when she spotted Izuku but that relief quickly turned to panic when she spotted Sali "Ah, Lady Sali. How nice to see you again. We really need to catch up, after I take care of some things here" Eris moved closer to Izuku but was intercepted by Sali who got up close to Eris's face with a barely restrained rage.
"Eris, dear" Sali gripped Eris shoulders to ensure her fellow goddess couldn't escape "Who was responsible for handling Izuku Midoriya's case?"
"Um, me" Eris answered weakly, her uncertainty turning into fear as Sali developed a throbbing vein on her forehead. "I know he wasn't properly resurrected but-"
"Did you read his file?" Sali asked, Eris thought about it and shook her head "Good, that means you won't be banished for your wrong doings. Merely punished for your incompetence. Because-" Sali points to Izuku dramatically "That boy is a hero who has yet to complete his destiny!"
Eris eyes widened as she looked over everyone in shock.
[Long Explanation Later]
"I can go home?" Izuku asked in disbelief.
Eris nodded, standing beside a throne Sali lounged on with a cup of tea "Heroes or those with world changing destinies tend to have more benefits than others, so we can revive you to before your death and have things go the way they should have" Eris looks over Izuku's file she held in her hands, in it was a video of his fight with a man with exposed muscles. Eris winced, in part due to what she was seeing and her own failings for not checking his file "You'll survive your battle with that man, though you will still need to deal with the other villains"
Izuku went quiet, not showing much reaction and merely staring ahead at nothing.
Meghan looked over to Izuku concerned for his well being, rather ironic considering she was the one to kill him "Hey, you doing okay?"
"I'm just, processing it all" Izuku turned to Meghan with a hard look "Why didn't you just tell me what happened, why go through all of this?"
Meghan sighed "If there was a better option, I would have taken it" she turned to Izuku with a tired expression "What could I say?" Meghan's tired epression changed into one with a chirper tone "Hey, Izuku right!? Name's Meghan, so nice to meet you cutie. Ya see there was a little mix up upstairs and you were meant to be revived in your own world. So, could you hold still while I plunge these holy daggers into your skull and heart to kill you so you can be revived in your own world"
Izuku winced before nodding "Okay, that's fair, normally people wouldn't let themselves be killed. Though, I am curious if you told me something to let me know you were being honest"
Sali slapped her forehead, the act causing a loud echo to ring out "Why didn't I think of that!?"
Eris gave Sali a shaky smile before turning to Izuku "So, are you ready to go back?"
Izuku was silent for a moment as he lowered his head, when he raised again he looked to Eris with a fire in his eyes "I, don't suppose there's anyway to let my students know I'll be okay"
Sali seemed ready to say something when Eris interrupted "I'll be sure to do that"
Meghan suddenly clenched her chest in pain, falling to the ground on her hands and knees "What. The. Heck?"
Izuku ran over to Meghan to see what was wrong with her while Eris and Sali used their magic to check on her soul to see what was happening, turns out she was being brought back to life by her team and the process they were using is incredibly painful.
Eventually all that remained were Eris and Izuku, Sali going with Meghan to ensure her impromptu resurrection went well and to honour her end of the deal, Izuku and Eris stood there awkwardly for a moment.
"Eris, there's something I need to know" Eris tensed slightly as Izuku stared intently at her "When I die again, for real, will I end up back here?"
Eris blinked, caught flat footed at Izuku's question. No one had asked that and she wasn't entirely sure if he would return. Summoning a massive book Eris scanned it's contents to find the answers "Uh, from what I can see if you wish we can make it so you return here after your next death" she looked up to Izuku, her eyes hopeful "Do, do you want to come back?"
Izuku smiled "Yeah, even if the Demon Lord is defeated by then I'd want to touch base with my students again and see how they'll turn out. And" Izuku raised a fist "If your still in need of a Hero, I'll be there."
Eris heart skipped a beat, like many times before as she was in Chris mode. She smiled as she stepped forward, deciding to take a calculated risk. Izuku was going to have his memories suppressed so his time in the other World wouldn't affect him too much, especially his time within the Crossroads of Worlds.
"In that case, I wish you the best in your life and eagerly await for our next meeting" Eris reached out her hands to take Izuku's own, without warning she kissed Izuku. Lasting for several long moments before they parted, both their faces were beat red with steam being visible from their heads.
"See you later, Izuku"
His mind raced as he tried to understand why a cute girl, a literal goddess on top of that, would kiss him. As a light began to appear at his feet for a moment Izuku thought he saw someone else standing where Eris was.
"Chris?"
Eris 'Chris' looked at the spot Izuku disappeared from, she looked herself over to see if there was anything that might have hinted to her mortal persona.
"Okay" Eris stiffened as Sali returned "They've been paid off, cost me more then I thought, and the Hero has returned to his proper time and place. Over all I'd say this incident is finally o- Why are you glowing?" Sali asked as she saw The Goddess of Fortune.
"Nothing! Nothing at all!"
Author's Notes:
Bit rushed, but it gets the job done.
This is pretty much all I got for this series of snippets, for those curious at HOW Butch returned to life. Basic idea is Ophidian's powers based on The Alchemist Code's Alchemy and Alchemia Particles mixed with Dragon King Louis's Draglia Lost's Eldwater healed his body with Butch's armour keeping the restoring body sealed and safe. Butch discovered his restored body and life when he began itching all over.
Izuku is revived into the World of MHA with canon taking place, only with the slightest change with Izuku being more spiritual aware. I added a little Izuku x Eris/Chris at the end. I debated adding a bit with, due to god/goddess physiology, a kiss/holding hands with someone they love romantically is enough for a god/goddess to have a child. If I did go through with it, it would have Eris/Chris basically being a single mother as the Izuku she knew essentially didn't exist anymore until he regains his memories after his natural death. Regaining his memories Izuku returns to the crossroads of worlds and is greet by his and Eris/Chris's child {A Child with silver/white hair with forest green highlights}
