story absorber: Thanks for your review! I do have a beta reader, even though I'm sure we've missed several things. If you notice anything glaring, please point it out!

Chapter Eight - Moving and Learning

'Claim the manor? Just how advanced was the Uzumaki's sealing?'

I look at Naruto before saying, "Tell it yes."

Naruto nods, looking back towards the statue. "Yes."

Frowning, he turns back to me and says, "It's asking if I want to add you as a co-owner. What does that mean?"

Smiling, I respond, "I think it's asking if you want to share your house with me. You should think about-"

"Yes." I'm cut off as Naruto agrees to the prompt and I suddenly feel the statue pulling in my chakra.

My mind is flooded with a massive amount of information. I suddenly know everything about the compound. What facilities are within, how the defenses work, the state of it all, and much, much more. It's such a flood of information that there's no way that I would even be able to process it without my enhanced mental capabilities.

As that thought occurs, relevant information is brought to the forefront of my mind. The information that the manor sends is provided at the rate that the mind can handle. With my capabilities, I managed to absorb all the information within the span of a few seconds, while most people simply receive information as needed.

'At least I won't have to worry about this thing frying anyone's brain… This system is incredible. The Uzumaki clan reached a level higher than anyone could have ever imagined. I doubt this is even their greatest work. Naruto and I need to take a trip to Uzushiogakure and see if we can find anything hidden from people not of Uzumaki blood. I simply can't believe that people able to create something this great were wiped out without any traces being left behind.'

'Now, let's free the Hokage.' After thinking this, I mentally command the manor to release him and have him registered as a guest.

I then speak, activating a set of seals that projects my voice to the gate, similar to an intercom system, "Lord Hokage, we've got control of the defenses, you should be able to come in now."

Feeling a tug on my sleeve, I look over to see Naruto staring at me. "Why were you talking to Grandpa? He's still outside."

Sitting down and leaning against the base of the statue I reply, "Your house is really cool Naruto! There are all kinds of things that it can do. One of them lets us talk and be heard anywhere on the property. That's how I talked to the Hokage."

Wide-eyed, he nods, then beams at me, "It is! Really cool! It's your house, too, though. You own it with me!"

Smiling, I look to Naruto. "Thank you, Naruto. I'll try to be deserving of your trust."

Frowning, Naruto responds, "You already deserve my trust. You're my friend! And Grandpa trusts you!"

Caught off guard, trying not to tear up I manage to reply, "Thanks Naruto, that means a lot."

'How does Naruto throw me for a loop with a simple statement? Maybe it has something to do with what I know of his future self. His sense of self-sacrifice and his desire to do anything for those he considers friends... Either way, this just reinforces my thoughts that I need to do more to protect him and the others.'

Naruto and I sit together in silence for several minutes before the Hokage enters the manor and smiles down at us, "I see that you've figured everything out already."

I nod, "The Uzumaki were masters of sealing beyond what I imagined. They have a whole system that controls the manor and everything on the property. I can even tell what's in the vault without having to go check. There's enough money here to last us several lifetimes."

The Hokage nods and asks, "Is there anything we need to do, or is everything ready for you two to move in?"

After thinking and checking through the seals several times, I respond, "Everything seems to be fine. We could move in now."

He thinks for a moment before responding, "Okay, let's do that then. I'll have Naruto's caretakers gather his belongings, while I go with you to the orphanage to take care of the paperwork for you."

I stand and bow to the Hokage, "Thank you, sir. For believing me and going so far to help me."

He smiles and pats my head, "No need to thank me. I'm only doing what's right."

"Still, you don't have to do all this for me, It truly means a lot to me." I respond before standing straight and looking at Naruto, "Are you ready to move into our new house?"

Jumping up and down he responds, "YES!"

Chuckling the Hokage says, "Well Naruto, we need to go pack up your belongings first."

A week has passed since Naruto and I moved to the Uzumaki manor. I spend most of my time in the library, gathering all the knowledge I can.

It's the first night here that I discover another aspect of my bloodline ability that has huge potential.

I don't require sleep. My body still needs rest after physical exertion, but I don't sleep unless I desire to. So far, I've been awake for the entire week reading in the library and haven't noticed any negative effects.

Naruto however seems to be the opposite. Due to the Uzumaki trait of incredibly high life force, he has almost endless physical stamina and runs around like he's on a permanent sugar high, never stopping until he eventually falls asleep.

Uzumaki children seem to have a hard time sitting still and paying attention to things for extended periods. Similar to children with ADHD.

Hopefully, I can come up with a way to help Naruto out when we start the academy. He had a hard time in the canon timeline and ended up barely passing. I don't intend to let that happen on my watch.

I've learned a lot from the Uzumaki library. It has a full course on commonly known sealing arts. As well as advanced sealing knowledge that was known only to the Uzumaki clan, that was thought to be lost when Uzushiogakure fell. The library also has a vast collection of jutsu, some of which are labeled as forbidden jutsu by the village, and enough general knowledge books to rival the Konoha public library.

My greatest find wasn't in the library, however. One evening when playing hide and seek with Naruto, I found a hidden compartment in an office. Inside were several books left by Minato. These books were full of his research and notes on the Flying Thunder God Jutsu.

It always struck me as strange that nobody was able to learn the jutsu after Minato died. He would have left notes or research that he did while he was learning it himself. It turns out that he did, they were just left under the protection of the Uzumaki compound, which was locked when he and Kushina died, and therefore inaccessible to anyone not of Uzumaki blood.

Minato took very thorough notes. With them, I believe that anyone with decent ability in sealing could learn the basic form of the technique. To get to the level Minato showed, requires a greater knowledge of sealing, and high chakra control.

Finding Minato's notes gave me a huge step ahead on my path to power. The Flying Thunder God should mesh well with my spatial abilities, and I should be able to take it even further than the ideas that Minato left behind, but never got a chance to work on.

For now, to achieve any of my goals, I need to put hard work behind my bloodline abilities and master all the knowledge I can before the academy, while my body is still growing. Doing my best to help Naruto along the way.

I have so many ideas on how to improve my skills and power beyond anything this world has ever seen. It won't be long before a new legend rises in Konoha.
