TRIVIA: What is a Trojan Horse? (and I don't mean the one from Troy :) )
?-?
Sue happily sighed. She was sitting next to Jack on their swing, something they've done after dinner every evening that was nice since May. She was going to miss it when it started getting too cold to do so.
Jack looked at her and smiled. He missed being able to work with her, but this was good too. In fact, better.
"I'm glad we got to help you, even though it didn't really break the case."
Jack turned so she could see him better. "Big or small, whatever you do helps us." He said and signed. "You helped confirm the drivers' story, something that exonerates them from knowing anything. That's breaking their case."
She nodded. "You're right. I should be more happy about the case. About every case we work on. We help solve several cases a week, by just lipreading a few files. I just wish we could see the cases through, like yours." She smiled widely.
Jack chuckled. "Yes, you are privy to more information that needed. I'm not going to deny you the information if you ask!"
"Yes, both me and Josh. Of which then we pass it on to our teammates, of course."
He nodded in response. "You know, speaking of that, we should probably start planning our wedding, don't you think? Otherwise I think your Mom's going to have both our hides."
Sue chuckled, with a confused look on her face. "What prompted that?"
He shrugged. "Josh, Mya, us, wedding. Easy transition."
She laughed. "Alright. Well, I was thinking about it the other day, and I was wondering, would you object to having the wedding here?"
"Here, as in the backyard?" Jack asked, surprised.
She nodded. "Then I would have all my favorite memories in one place. Well, most of them."
He looked away to think, then slowly nodded. "I think I would like that too." He replied, smiling widely.
Sue smiled as well. "It's settled, then. The wedding and reception will be here, and it will be limited to as many chairs as we can fit, which is good, since my Mom will want to invite the entire state of Ohio."
Jack laughed. "Sounds like Carla."
"How many people do you think we can fit in here?"
He looked around, scanning. It was a nice yard, not too big, and not too small. Besides a small patio, the gazebo, and the medium-sized pool, there was nothing but grass, perfect for parties just such as this. "Not quite sure, but I'm sure it's perfect for our bare minimum wedding."
She smiled and nodded. "Yes, it is."
?-?
Mya frowned. It was the next morning, and since the case was finished, all there was left to do was paperwork. They got them, and they confessed. The money was found at Dale's apartment. But something was bothering her. So much so that she couldn't focus on the paperwork. Teenage boys aren't patient. So why were these two so patient, waiting till the truck picks up a large load of cash, then go in for the kill? She frowned, blankly staring at the page.
"Something wrong?" Sarah asked, seeing the look on the top half of Mya's face, the bottom hidden by the mask.
"Huh?" Mya asked, getting taken out of her little world by her words.
"You're staring so intently at that form, it surely can't be its' fault."
She chuckled in response. "Teenage boys are impatient, right?"
Sarah nodded. "Being a pastor's kid, I can tell you firsthand, yes. They always are the first ones to bolt out of church as soon as it's over. Before, even."
"They don't want to wait for anything. They're lazy, and will just take whatever comes at them." Mya continued, lost in her mind.
"In general, yes." She replied, unsure at where she was going.
"Then why did our teenagers wait for the kill? Why did they wait until the truck picked up the biggest load of the day? They would've had to follow them for at least a day prior to know which was the best. That takes planning, and patience, both of which I don't think these guys have."
"I can vouch for that." Nora added. "I watched their interrogation. They wanted out as soon as they went in. Their turnover was really quick, they basically just confessed right away to get out of there."
"Right." Mya replied, pointing at Nora and her point. Then she turned to Sarah. "How did these guys do it?"
Sarah shrugged. "They had to have known somehow. Maybe someone tipped them off?"
Mya smiled widely. "Tipped them off." She replied, then started typing on her computer.
"What are you doing?" Sarah asked.
"You'll see, if I'm right." She replied, her keystrokes not missing a beat. A few minutes later, she stopped, and smiled widely. "That's it. A Trojan Horse."
