Kitani shows a determination to bring Itachi Uchiha to Justice, but not to execute him, as such, it is the opinion of Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi and the Konoha Council that he be given missions to bring Itachi to Justice, over Itachi's Brother, Sasuke Uchiha. He shows an attachment to the Village and it's people, and while willing to cross lines, does not condone betraying the Village. His skills and potential make him an ideal ptoential ANBU Recruit, but it should be taken up should it potentially compromise his Loyalty to the Village.

There you have it, the first official Kitani Dossier!!
Kitani had gotten discharged after the doctors determined it was just a bout of illness, nothing that could be helped, but they told him to come back if the blood leakages worsened, something he didn't plan on doing, since hospitals reminded him too much of his mother, which naturally brought up his bitterest emotions. Any who he found himself leaving and running into Kakashi. "Oh, there you are, you ought to know, Naruto raised a fit with Lord Hokage, and he's now given us a C-Rank mission." Says Kakashi, causing Kitani to frown.
"I don't know whether that's for good or ill." Kitani says.
"Well, look at it this way, if nothing else it means your qualified for the Chunin Exams eventually." Says Kakashi.
"Why does it matter? I'm only just out of the Academy, I may have my Sharingan, but even if I get it down, I have no other missions under my belt, then there's my illness, thought the one good thing Mother gave was her genes, but apparently not! What's the job?" Asks Kitani, sighing before asking his last sentence.
"We'll be escorting a Master Bridge Builder to the Land of Waves, his name is Tazuna, I suggest you pack for a long mission." Says Kakashi before disappearing in a puff of smoke.
"Great." Says Kitani in a groan. Don't get the wrong impression, he was thrilled to get a C-Rank, but he had no clue as to the current status of his Team's strength or unity, then his illness, there was no way to discern what it was, or when it'd appear again. or if it would. More than that was the fact his first mission was a C-Rank, to a foreign country. He'd have to really get his stuff together for such an out of the way place.
After Kitani met Kakashi it was a simple matter to head to the Family Armory. Kitani knew to expect the unexpected, so, he packed multiple Kunai, Shuriken, and Senbon, he also, albeit reluctantly, took up his Father's Sword. After the Blades were down pat, he simply focused on his Traps, Paper Bombs, Storage Scrolls, and other little goodies he had on hand that could be easily carried. With this stuff in and on hand, Kitani simply walked his way to the Village Gate, with any luck he wouldn't be the last one to arrive.
Kitani was third to arrive, and he didn't like the client one bit, a drunken and ungrateful old man, not a fun combo. On top of that he was disrespectful, and Naruto often tried and vocally declared he was going to kill him, and while he could sympathise, he'd only agree to it after the job had been completed, because at least then he'd get paid for a sucessful mission. Then again, Kakashi wouldn't allow it to happen, so this was a useless thought.
Any who, they were maybe a few clicks out of the Village when Sakura piped up. "Hey, Tazuna..." She asks, curiosity plain in her voice.
"Huh? What is it?" He asks, and clearly has no interest in whatever it is.
"Your from the Land of Waves right?" Asks Sakura.
"Yeah, what of it?" He asks, in even less interest, if it were possible.
"Kakashi-Sensei, there are Ninja in that Country too aren't there?" Asks Sakura, and Kitani is also curious judging by his face.
"No, there are no Ninja in the Land of Waves, but...in other Countries there are Hidden Villages, each with their own distant Customs and Cultures, where Ninja Reside. To the people of this Continent, the existence of Shinobi Villages means strength Military Strength. In other words, that's how they protect themselves and maintain the balance of power with neighboring countries. The Ninja Villages are not controlled by any government, their...independent and have equal status. Now a small nation like the Land of Waves has natural protection from the sea so there's no need for a Ninja Village." Says Kakashi, causing Kitani to wonder whether if that is true, and also to begin to like the idea of a Shinobi Village of his own, but he sets it aside for now, to listen to Kakashi's continued explaination.
"The Five Ancient Lands that are the Lands of Fire, Water, Lightning, Wind, and Earth. They Each occupy vast Territories, and together they are known as the Five Great Shinobi Nations. The Land of Fire has the Village Hidden in the Leaves, the Land of Water the Village Hidden in the Mist, The Land of Lightning the Village Hidden in the Clouds, the Land of WInd the Village Hidden in the Sands, and the Land of Earth has the VIllage Hidden in the Stones. Only the leaders of these Villages are given the name Kage, which means Shadow: Hokage, Mizukage, Raikage, Kazekage, and Tsuchikage, these five men are THE Leaders, the Five Shadows who reign over thousands of Ninja." Kakashi explains, and Kitani considers carefully.
'Huh, as I recall the Kazekage is the only Kage whose remotely trustworthy. The Fourth Mizukage is a Tyrant, the Tsuchikage is a paranoid fencesitter, and the Raikage is real piece of work by all accounts. Makes me question if I really want to be among their number, still it would if nothing else, prove a point that Uchiha can become Hokage.' Kitani thinks, before Kakashi pupes up.
"Hey! You all just doubted Lord Hokage didn't you?! That's what you were thinking?!" Demands Kakashi, unusally seriously, causing Naruto and Sakura to deny it in a rather panicked head shaking. "Well, anyway there are no Ninja battles in a C-Ranked mission...so, you can relax." Says Kakashi, patting Sakura's head, but the body language of Tazuna confuses Kitani at the last sentence Kakashi said.
"That means we're not gonna encounter any enemy Ninja or something like that." She says happily, which causes Kitani to deflate, since he'd been hoping for some kind of fight.
"Hehehe, not likely." Says Kakashi, and Kitani is not too happy about it.
'There goes the fun.' He bitterly remarks in his head.
After a while of walking, Kitani is clealry agitated, he is itching for a fight, and the constant surveilance by less than subtle Shinobi suggests a B-Rank at the very least of what the Mission should be! Nevertheless, the fact that the watchers are skilled is enough to satisfy Kitani for now. Suddenly two men of identical clothing appear, and wrap Kakashi up in chains, before crushing him. Kitani quickly intercepts the duo from getting to Tazuna, Naruto, and Sakura, before kicking each in the face he sends their chains into a tree which after foot meets face, breaks their chains.
Kitani Turns to face one, turns to look at the other and furrows his brow. 'These two are The Demon Brothers, Rogue Ninja from the Hidden Mist. Their skills aren't noteworthy enough to warrant a small bounty of twenty five thousand Ryo. Huh, maybe I can cash in on that.' Says Kitani in his mind before charging the Demon Brother to his left and Using Genjutsu: Sharingan on him. The momentary lapse in movement is sufficient time to get him point-blank with a Kunai to his eye. Kitani senses Killing Intent, turns and barely blocks the Remaining brothers attack. He's bearing down on him, and in an act of desperation, Kitani Thrusts his Hand into the Remaining man's chest, infused with Lightning Chakra of course. The two now dead, and Kitani looks upon his hands, dropping his Kunai in the process.
''I actually did it...'' Kitani says realising just what he'd done. He stumbles backwards, against a tree, and quickly pales, as he looks from his hands to the two corpses. He doesn't even notice Tazuna eying him in a manner that conveys his respect for the young Uchiha, respect, and regret.
''Kitani, are you okay?'' Asks Kakashi, his lack of death forgotten as the rest of Team Kakashi looks upon him with looks of worry, fear, and respect. It's not dificult to determine who gives which look.
''I just need a minute.'' Says Kitani as he stares hard at his palms before standing, walking over towards each body and Sealing them in Body Scrolls for cashing in later. Kitani looks out distantly, a knot in the pit of his stomach, which makee him feel sick to the bone. Kitani shakes off whatever he is feeling, intending to confront such feelings later.
Seeing Kitani is mostly fine, Kakashi turns his attentions to Tazuna. ''By the way moster Tazuna?!'' Says Kakashi, catching Tazuna off guard. ''Y-yeah? W-what?'' He stutters. ''We Need to talk.'' Says Kakashi sternly.
The two corpses Sealing Scrolls were held up by Kakashi and Kitani, as Tazuna leaned against a tree, his beer no longer in hand. ''The two who attacked us are Chunin from the Village Hidden in the Mist, whose specialty was relentless attack, they would keep fighting no matter what the sacrifice.'' Says Kakashi.
''If I remember rightly, they were often used as a precursor group to the Seven Ninja Swordsman of the Mist. Basically, these two and their fellow Relentless Attack-Nin would go in and gather hard to get intel on enemy numbers, fortifications, and general equipment, helps make a far more surgical and precise bloodbath for the Seven Ninja Swordsman. Also, given that little fact, it's safe to assume that whoever wants the old man dead, is either a current, former, or protégé of a member of a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsman. Which means were fucked.'' Says Kitani darkly.
''Bad language aside, Kitani is correct, and in that is a serious problem. You see when Tazuna put in the mission, he asked for minimal protection, against threats such as robbers or highwaymen, standard protection. You didn't say there were Ninja looking for you, hunting you down. If we knew this, it would be at minimum a B-Rank Mission, if not higher do to what Kitani has said. Our task was simply to get to your destination and protect you while you were building your bridge. if we knew we'd be fielding attacks from enemy Ninja, we'd have staffed differently, and charged for the rank of the a B-Rank Mission...Apparently you have your reasons, but lying to us is not acceptable, we are know beyond the scope of this Mission.'' Says Kakashi, and throughout the lecture, Tazuna looks progressively more guilty.
''We're Genin, this is too advanced for our level of training. We should go back...and I really think we need to treat Naruto's wound and get the poison out as soon as possible. Back in our Village we can take him to a doctor.'' Says Sakura, but Kitani has his doubts.
Ignoring the conversation, Kitani focuses on Naruto. The blonde knucklehead takes a Kunai and stabs himself and spouts of about his Nindo. Kitani simply turns his attentions to Kakashi. ''Uncle? A word?'' Kitani asks Kakashi, and he nods before they walk away a short distance to chat. ''It goes against the Will of Fire to abandon those beneath our protection, plus to very well cancel the mission half-way is not only unprofessional, but will compromise the Village if word gets out that a High-Tier Jonnin canceled a mission halfway. Besides, considering the fact that the Land of Waves is prosperous, we should be able to recoup any payments for an Rank upgrade, and if nothing us, the two corpses will fetch a good bounty and likely cover the costs we should be receiving for this mission.'' Says Kitani.
''Yes, your right, but I'm not certain if we should stay or not.'' Says Kakashi, and Kitani considers the alternatives.
''What if we requested an Additional Genin Squad? As well as a small Squad of Special Jonnin? Squad-wise, I recommend team Asuma, since Uncle Asuma is Probably the Jonnin best suited to blade-on-blade combat should the two corpses still follow a Seventh Swordsman, also, Shikamaru despite the shared laziness between you, is as smarter if not smarter than you. As for Special Jonnin the only ones off the top of my head coming to mind is Genma and Aunty Anko.'' Says Kitani.
''Huh, that should work, I'll send Pakkun out to fetch Asuma.'' Says Kakashi.
''Maybe let Lord Third Hokage know before hand, we're liable to get an earful if we don't?'' Kitani suggests as Kakashi gives him a sheepish eye-smile...
Team Kakashi was on a boat, paddling silently towards their location. ''The bridge is just up ahead, our destination, the Land of Waves.'' Says the boat driver in a whisper, as a bridge comes into view from the dense fog.
''Whoa! It's Huge!'' Says Naruto, all but screaming. earning a knock to the back of his head from Kitani for breaking Mission protocol so blatantly. ''Why don't you just go to the Enemy Ninja with a sign that says 'We're here to stop you, start killing us?!' huh?! Idiot.'' Says Kitani in an angry whisper.
''Mister Tazuna, before we reach the dock, I want to ask you something...the men who are after you, I need to know why? If you don't tell us I'm afraid we'll have to end this mission when we drop you ashore.'' Says Kakashi, despite having requested back up.
''I have no choice but to tell you...no, I want you to know the truth. Like you said, this is beyond the scope of the original mission. The one who seeks my death is a very short man, one who casts a very long and deadly shadow.'' Says Tazuna. ''A deadly shadow? Hmm, who is it?'' Asks Kakashi. ''You know him, at least I'm sure you've heard his name before; he's one of the wealthiest men in the world, the shipping magnate: Gato.'' Says Tazuna, shocking Kakashi and causing Kitani to grow thoughtful.
'A man like Gato could finance a Ninja Village for generations, and if I can acquire his wealth, I will be able to easily secure funding for my own Village should I lean that way. But more importantly, I would be in a position where I could do anything I wanted to, financially at least.' Kitani mentally thinks.
''Huh, Gato? Of Gato Transport? He's a business leader everyone knows him!'' Says Kakashi in disbelief. Naruto gets excited for whatever reason and asks who and what three times.
''Gato, is very powerful tycoon from a powerful company, that's true. But below the surface, with the same ruthless methods he uses to take over businesses and Nations, he sells drugs and contraband, using gangs and Ninja. It was exactly one year ago today, when Gato first set his sights on the Land of Waves, he came to our island and used his vast wealth to take total control of our transport and shipping. Anyone who stood in his way simply disappeared. So in an island nation, the man who controls the Sea controls everything; finance, government, our very lives! But there's one thing he fears: The Bridge! When it is complete, it will join us to the land and that will break his control. I am the bridge builder.'' Says Tazuna and Kitani is very certain in his path right now.
'That's what I will do, I will become a Ninja Village Founder, all I need is the Money, a few Clans, and the Feudal Lord's permission. Clan wise, I'd definitely want the Kodon, Uzumaki, and oh, we're here.' Says Kitani in his mind before realising that they'd arrived at a beautiful little village. After bidding the boat driver farewell, they continue to Tazuna's home.
As the five-man team continues, Naruto and Sasuke's petty rivalry rears it's ugly head. ''Kill me now.'' Kitani begs, not wanting to have to deal with such stupidity, especially on a mission. ''Is it really so bad? Sasuke will win for sure!'' Says Sakura, causing Kitani to give her the stink eye.
''How can the smartest Kunoichi of our year happen to be so naive? Honestly, I'll make you a bet right now, the first chance Sasuke gets to get greater power outside the Village, he'll defect! If he does, you have to face the truth.'' Says Kitani grumpily.
''What?! How can you say that about your own family!?'' Asks Sakura in defense of Sasuke.
''Because I don't want my own brother dead! I want him put in prison for his crimes.'' Says Kitani in aggravated ire.
''Sasuke, wants his brother dead? But why?'' Asks Sakura.
''Because he made the both of us orphans.'' Says Kitani sadly, as he picks up the pace, leaving Sakura to that thought and her own naive ideals.
Eventually Naruto decides to try and fail to act cool and almost kills a rabbit. Only problem is, it's fur is not in line with the season. It isn't long before something happens. ''Look out!'' Shouts Kakashi as a huge ass sword is thrown at them. Kitani reacts quickly, and grabs the hilt and stops it in it's tracks.
''I knew it! Show yourself Seven Ninja Swordsman!'' Kitani shouts, and he gets his wish when the thrower reveals himself.
''Well, well, if it isn't Zabuza Momochi, Rogue Ninja from the Village Hidden in the Mist.'' Says Kakashi.
''Kakashi of the Sharingan Eye, did I get that right? It's too bad huh? But you'll have to hand over the old man and my sword!'' Says Zabuza.
''No, I want this blade, and seeing as I killed your two henchmen, I'd say I've earned the right to challenge you for it. I am Kitani Uchiha, grandson of Kurotana Uchiha, the Demon King of The Hidden Leaf.'' Says Kitani as he leans against the blade.
''Is that right? Well then, seeing as how he gave half our number the big push, I'd say your right, but only he who defeats us in combat may wield our swords'' Says Zabuza, and Kitani looks from Zabuza to the blade and nods, before throwing it back to him.
''If we're going to fight, I'll need this.'' Says Kitani, Drawing the family blade. The sword is a short Katana. ''Extend!'' Kitani shouts, and the Katana grows to full size, he holds it in a reverse grip, before activating his Sharingan.
''I see, so the King's grandson bears his fangs, so be it boy, come atme with everything you've got!'' Says Zabuza, and Kitani takes a deep breath, before charging at Zabuza. His Katana meets Zabuza's Executioners Blade and creates a noticeable chip in it. ''Impressive, not even your grandfather managed to chip the Executioners Blade when he fought the wielder before me.'' Says Zabuza.
''Shut up and fight!'' Says Kitani as he lands blow after blow against the Executioners Blade, specifically the spot he chipped it. Kitani copies every movement with the Blade, every swing, every technique utilised. Before he Launches a bigger offensive. ''Uchiha Clan Secret Technique: Dance of The Rabbit Goddess!'' Says Kitani as he Channels Wind and Fire-Style Chakra into his Katana and sends the equivalent of a Wind Scythe at Zabuza several times over, before he creates an after image of Chakra, he quickly thrusts the Katana through the centre. ''Uchiha Clan Secret Technique: Wrath of the Dragon Prison!'' Says Kitani as he sends a three-headed Dragon at Zabuza which locks him in a Chakra Prison.
''Not bad, you softened me up, then jailed me, I can't break through this without risking my life.'' Says Zabuza.
''It's the same with me unfortunately, that technique carries a cost, temporary blindness in the Sharingan. The effects can be reduced with Kotaro, but it'll never have the same light, unless it evolves into the Mangekyo of Legend. Explosion!'' Says Kitani as he buries his Katana in the dirt and it causes the prison holding Zabuza to erupt in a fiery mass of pain. Zabuza's still alive, but the sudden surprise of Senbon flung at Kitani, cause him to drop...
''Where am I? Am I dead once more?'' Asks Kitani.
''Hello son, it's been a while.'' Says Kuroki as he appears before Kitani.
''How? You died?!'' Says Kitani in shock.
''The founder of our bloodline granted me the chance to speak with you, and to impart a gift. First, your anger at your mother is misplaced, she is not to blame for her absence. She and I argued in the hours before the attack, and she left, so if you must be angry at a parent, be so at me.'' Says Kuroki.
''What gift?!'' Asks a teary-eyed Kitani.
''When Itachi killed your grandfather, you awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, but you remained unaware of it, that is the cause of your illness. With your right eye, your able to use a Short-Range Kamui, which once mastered can be used to make yourself intangible, or for any number of purposes. I do not know what your left eye can cast, but I Must assume it can only be Kotoamatsukami as it was with myself and your uncle Shisui, or the Amaterasu as it was with myself and your grandfather. Speaking of which, you have my permission to Take my Mangekyo Sharingan and transplant them when ready. You'll find them under lock and key in the black box in the Armory. They're awaiting you.'' Says Kuroki.
''I don't think I'll ever be ready for such a thing.'' Says Kitani as he snaps awake.
With a Crash, Kitani awakened, his Sharingan a fully awakened Mangekyo Sharingan blazing awake, looking around he found himself in a small room in a bed. Beside him, was something he did not expect...Ino...
