NOTE TO Jason00: Yes, those are correct, but those both have been answered. FF has been having technical glitches for the past week or so, so I'm not quite sure if you can see the newest chapters. I hope you can!
TRIVIA: So I tried searching for a good Aussie term for Bobby to say, but I couldn't find one. If anyone knows a good one to replace my (very dumb and boring) kangaroo placeholder, I'll give you a chapter of the next story!
?-?
"Excuse me, but what are you doing in here?"
"We have a warrant for your computer, and we are inclined to use it." Mya said, holding a piece of paper up.
"Leland, do you have something to do with this?"
"I wish I did." Myles replied. "I wish I did, Randy."
Randy's face turned red from anger. "What could possibly be so important on my computer?"
"A Horse, Randy. A Trojan Horse." Bobby replied as he brought in a dolly, a smirk on his face.
Randy glared at the men as they took his computer off his desk, and onto the dolly. "I have no idea what you're talking about, but whatever it is, it is unethical!"
"No, it isn't. We have a warrant, and a reason." Mya said.
"And what might that reason be?" Randy asked.
"We're not at liberty to say right now." She replied. "And," Mya added as the men carted the computer away. "We might possibly take our time with it. You will have to do all your forms the old fashioned way; paper. Huh, think of that. Paperwork on actual paper!" Mya laughed, walking out of the office, into the hall, where Bobby, Myles, Jack, Tara and Sarah all stood, trying to laugh silently.
"Leland! What did you do! Your supervisor will hear from me! Just you wait and see!" Randy screamed as the team walked down the hall to their bullpen.
"Ooh, rhyming are we, Randy?" Jack quietly said, his laughter hard to suppress.
"We better get this back to him before he has a meltdown, and burns down the whole building!" Mya exclaimed.
"No way. I want him to feel the pain, the same way he's had me feel the pain." Bobby replied satisfactorily. "An eye for an Office Services eye."
"You're mean." Tara replied, smiling.
?-?
"Anything?" Jack asked Tara and Mya later that day.
They shook their heads. "No-wait." Mya said, typing a few things. "I think I may've found something."
Everyone's ears perked up.
"Found you!" Tara exclaimed. "And it traces back," She continued as she typed. "To Cole." She smiled at Jack.
He nodded in response. "It looks like we'll have to have another chat with him."
?-?
"What am I doing here again?" Cole asked.
"Turns out, you weren't so truthful to us, were you?" Bobby asked.
"I, I don't know what you mean." Cole replied, confused.
"We know you're the one who hacked into the FBI, we have your computer trail to prove it." Jack said.
"Huh?" Cole asked, a very confused look on his face.
"Playing dumb, I see. Let's go see if your friend will rat you out first, then." Bobby said, walking to the door.
"Wait," Jack said, not sure that was the right path. "Let's see what Cole has to say first. In detail. Then we can go see if Dale's story matches up."
"Righto. Whatever. I'll take either one." Bobby replied, sitting down next to Jack, waiting for the show.
"I, I told you everything. What we did." Cole said.
"You've told us everything from Monday till yesterday. We want to know what you did before." Jack explained.
"Well, Cole said, thinking hard. "Last week, Dale said it would be cool to impersonate FBI agents. I thought so too, you guys are like the coolest guys in the world."
Jack slightly smiled, then waved for him to continue.
"Well, uh, last week we were doing homework at my place, and uh, he found a route map for some money trucks. He said he'd like to play a trick on them, and switch out some money for counterfeit. His friend's cousin's friend made some a while back, and didn't know where to use it. It didn't look as real as the real thing, but at a quick glance, it did. He got it, and then we pretended to be agents, Dale being the one who did the switch."
"So you're saying Dale's the one who initiated all of this." Bobby confirmed. Cole nodded.
"When Dale found that map, was he on your computer?" Jack asked.
"Ye-yeah." Cole said.
Jack nodded, looking at Bobby.
"Looks like we've just got an accomplice sitting here."
Jack nodded. Dale was the one to convict.
?-?
"So?" Tara asked, Jack and Bobby walking into the bullpen.
They smiled at her. "We got them. The whole kit and caboodle." Jack replied. "Even got the name of a guy that made the counterfeit bills."
"Dale turned over very quickly, like a dingo scarfing his food, all in one bite." Bobby confirmed.
"Yes!" Mya said, high-fiving Tara.
"So? You feel better now?" Sarah asked, knowing how she felt the last time they thought they had finished the case.
She nodded. "Yes. All my questions have been answered! On to the next case!"
?-?
"Monique will be here in 10 minutes." Sue said, putting the last of the diner dishes in the sink. They had dinner at their house, so Monique could see the venue. Just then, they saw and heard the doorbell ring.
"I will finish the dishes. You go start." Bob said.
"I will help you. You two, go." Carla replied.
Sue smiled, then went to answer the door, the two of them putting on their clear masks before doing so. "HELLO!" She signed.
"HELLO! SUE?" Monique asked.
Sue nodded. "NICE MEET YOU."
"YOU SAME!" Monique said, coming into the house. "WOW, NICE." She said, looking around. Then she saw Jack. "FIANCE?" She asked, pointing to Jack.
Sue nodded. "YES, JACK."
"HELLO!" She signed to Jack.
"Of course she's Deaf." Jack said to himself. "WELCOME." He signed, then pointed to the living room. All three walked over, and sat on the couch.
The two women started signing away, shooting off ideas for the wedding.
"Hello!" Carla exclaimed as she and Bob walked into the room, pausing at the doorway. "Oh!" She said, seeing Sue and Monique signing away, Jack trying to get a word in edgewise, rather, sign. He was slightly lost in the very fast signing.
"Well, you know what they say, wedding planning is a woman's job." Bob replied.
Carla frowned. "I won't be able to plan any of the wedding now."
Bob laughed. "Believe me, you will get your way. You always do."
"Now what's that supposed to mean!" She exclaimed.
"It means Sue will ask for your advice sooner or later. You'll see." He replied, then kissed the top of her head, then walked away. "Or you'll just give it." He mumbled to himself.
Carla glared at him, hearing part of what he said, then she sighed. "I hope you're right."
?-?
"Well, it's been the most amazing week. I have a lot of great story ideas." Nora said as she packed up her temporary desk the next afternoon.
"It's been great having you. I can't wait to read the story that our team has inspired." Sarah said.
Nora smiled. "Available at all bookstores near you within the year. And you," She said, turning to Mya. "If you ever decide you want to pursue a writing career, call me."
Mya took the card she held out to her and looked at it.
"Maybe you're not ready right now, but you do have potential. Jack sort-of gave me an excerpt of one of your stories."
Mya glared at him.
"What? She asked. I couldn't say no." He replied, shrugging.
She pursed her lips in response. Then she turned to Nora. "Maybe one day."
Nora smiled, then turned to the rest of the team.
"Always nice to be represented by the good people." Bobby said. "I always have respect for the journalist types."
"Maybe that's because your girlfriend's a reporter." Jack said, laughing.
He cocked his side to side in response, not disregarding the comment.
Nora turned to Myles. They stared in silence for a few seconds. "She's a good woman, you know. Keep her as long as you can."
Myles slightly nodded. "It was good to see you, Nora."
"You as well." She replied.
With that, she left the bullpen. Myles sighed, watching her walk away.
"Wondering what might've been?" Bobby asked, watching him.
Myles didn't reply. He didn't say anything as he walked out of the bullpen through the other doorway.
"What? I say something offensive?" Bobby asked.
?-?
"Hi."
Cathi wheeled around and smiled through her mask. "Hi! What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to say how amazing you are." Myles replied.
"Thank you. I think you're pretty great, too."
They stood there in silence for a few seconds.
"Dinner tonight?"
She smiled widely through her mask. "Perfect."
He smiled back, walking back to the bullpen. It was a good day.
The End.
