After the light receded and the two could make out details in the room again they saw a peculiar sight. The pokemon in front of them was shaking out it's short, sleek fur after having emerged from the egg. It appeared to be a Rockruff but not quite. They matched the color of how the sea filled with algae would look if you were to look down from above, a mix of blues and greens showed prevalent in the Rockruff's coat colors. The next peculiarity was where the fluffs of fur and stone gems usually took residence around the neck instead there were petals of underwater plants with shells in the middle. It had little ridges spiking their way down its back to just before the tip of its tail where more petals and another shell in the center made themselves known. The tail was not the fluffy curled tail that Rockruffs usually held either, it was long and smooth and split in two at the end like a Vaporeon's tail. Finally there were a few more spines one on the back of each foreleg at the elbow.

As Bloom took a closer look at this Rockruff she saw how slender and small it was compared to normal ones from the same species but she was still able to figure out that this newly hatched Rockruff was a female. Without even thinking she started to smile and whispered the name of her daughter.

"Chlorophynta." She had thought long and hard for a female name and had decided to name her after the algae that had grown on her egg in the time underwater. The Elder made his way over to Bloom while she was awestruck with the hatchling and surveyed Chlorophyntas' appearance. It was quite evident that she had adapted while in the egg and had become a Delta but whether she was just a water type or a dual type was unknown as of yet. They would have to keep an eye on her development to find out what she was capable of.

Perking up her ears Chlorophynta looked up toward the noise that caught her attention and noticed the two pokemon standing there watching her. Not really knowing anything she just blinked her eyes before flattening her ears and shrinking back from the pokemon before her.

"It is okay young one do not be afraid." The Elder stepped forward and lowered himself to his belly to touch noses with the newly hatched delta pokemon. "I am your grandfather and the Lurantis here with me is your mother. We are your family." Chlorophynta didn't shrink away from the Arcanine this time, rather she tilted her head curiously and started sniffing at him and circling him while she did so. He just closed his eyes, crossed his paws, and let her inspect him as much as she wished. After finishing she turned to Bloom and followed the same process of inspection before she was satisfied and gave them a big smile while gently swaying her aquatic tail.

"Family!" Bloom was startled at how quickly her daughter had picked up a word after just hatching but the Elder just chuckled and assured her it was different for every hatchling and though her pronunciation was somewhat off it was evident she had paid close attention to their speech in the time before her inspection. Bloom couldn't help but beam back at her daughter and hug her tightly.

"Yes, sweetheart we are your family and you are ours." Chlorophynta nuzzled Bloom's cheek and gave it a lick showing that she was more than okay with this family. Rising the Elder came over and nuzzled the new addition to their family as well. Looking her child in the eyes Bloom told her the name she had picked out. "You are Chlorophynta, just like the algae that persists in the depths of the water so too did you persist in being able to survive."

Chuckling again the Elder looked between his daughter and granddaughter and made a decision. "Yes she is our sweet Phy. While her name is a mouthful it wouldn't hurt to decide on a nickname early on and I believe Phy is suitable." Bloom nodded in agreement and once again the new addition wagged her tail.

"Phy, Phy, Phy!" She repeated her name excitedly and bounced around her mother and grandfather in joy. It didn't take long for everyone in the port town to learn of their newest member and many brought congratulatory gifts and toys for the young Rockruff. Phy came to love swimming and anytime she disappeared from the house it was never hard to track her down as she could be found floating or diving into the bay to explore and play with the pokemon below. Bloom had much joy in having a child around and mellowed out from her impatient self from before she took in the lonely egg from the bay.

Sea Faire continued on in the way it always had with one rowdy new child around and in the blink of an eye four years had passed. The Elder retired from his position and Bloom took over. Phy spent lots of time with her grandfather while her mother was busy with her new duties managing the town and loved him immensely. He had been an explorer in his younger years and taught her the tricks of the trade, told her many stories and described how travels and just how large the world was.

Chlorophynta took all of his words to heart and held great interest in the career he described. Travelling many places, meeting lots of pokemon, and finding her place in the world. Deep down her soul greatly yearned for that life but she couldn't just up and leave Sea Faire. She was her mother's only child and would have to take over the position watching over the town one day. Thinking of this she was disheartened, she knew it was tradition and was expected of her but to her it didn't feel like the future meant for her, yet she ignored her intuition for the four years she lived with her family. At least, she ignored it until the day she gained a new sibling.
