When I landed after leaving the portal I found myself in a snow covered forest. I was probably somewhere near or in Ragna Ferox. I had no map, no heavy clothing, no food, and no water. What I did have however was some almost used up Tomes, a couple Staves, and the ability to teleport. I still have 5 uses stored up, so I can teleport myself 10 times before I have to wait until it recharges at midnight.

I paused and looked up at the sky, the sun was covered, overcast with gray clouds and snowing. I sighed, I wish I could just lay down in the snow and stare at the sky, but I have work to be done, I need to find everyone and make sure that Grima doesn't win. That or find an inn and sleep for a day…

I was probably going to sleep first, then search for everyone else. I closed my eyes and began to designate a target for Rewarp. I had a technically infinite range as long as I knew exactly where I was going to show up, otherwise, I am limited to about a quarter of a mile around me. I imputed my coordinates for the Feroxi Arena and expended a use. I felt like I was being pulled through a kaleidoscope before being deposited in an alleyway near the arena. The majority of coordinates that I have memorized and places memorized are alleys in the former important cities of the world. It also helps that magic is both mathematical and conceptual based, meaning that I don't have to know every single detail. Mind you, I still had to do a bunch of other things because I wasn't using a stave or a tome to facilitate the casting, but I didn't have to take into account the curvature of the earth, it's rotation, it's location in orbit around our sun, or if there is anything in the area that I was Rewarping to.

I stuck my hands into my pockets. I was wearing a thin robe meant to mitigate the corruptive tendencies of dark magics even more on top of my already amazing natural resistance. I also didn't have any money… I'm just going to rob someone.

I rewarped to the roof of a nearby house before picking a target and using rescue on them. I then knocked them out with a well placed blow, robbed them of their cash, healed them with the last bits of my heal stave before warping them down into an alley across the street.

I have enough money for a night at an inn and maybe a single drink. So with my glorious plan in place, I went to the nearest bar/inn got a single drink, and listened. My idea was rewarded, as I learned that Chrom is representing Flavia, which meant that Lon'qu is representing Baliso. If I remember correctly Chrom gets injured in the shoulder here, cutting down his fighting ability?

Damnit, Chrom NEEDS to be in good shape for when the Conqueror comes around, I need to find Baliso and convince him to allow me to be his champion. I waited for a bit and used this time to buy a log before turning it into the worlds stupidest looking heal stave, that was actually a log. It worked, mostly… alright, it sucked, but the materials I had were shitty, I am pressed for time, and the fact that it even works as well as it does when the only ingredient is a log should be a testament to my skill.

I then set off to find Basilo. It took me a bit, but I was able to find him discussing with… Lucina! Oh thank Naga, she is okay! I waited until they separated before revealing myself.

"Glad to see you're doing fine Lucina" I chuckled.

"As well as I can be doing Adam, have you met any of the others?"

"No such luck, I just got here today, might have even died if I couldn't rewarp, I landed smack dab in the middle of the Feroxian wilderness," I scratched the back of my head "So? Are you Basilo's champion?"

"Yes, I was planning on using this opportunity to test Father and make sure that he doesn't receive the wound to his shoulder."

"Good thinking, I was planning on becoming the champion myself, but it looks like you have this covered. Do you have any plans about what you are planning to do next? I know that the war will be starting soon enough, along with an assassination attempt on your aunt shortly after. Do you want to stick together or split up?"

Lucina hesitated for a bit, clearly torn "I- I would prefer if we stuck together, after everything that has happened, it will be nice to travel with a friend."

I smiled "Alright then, I'll see about getting a mask and joining your team for the battles. Would you mind bringing that up to Baliso?"

"Not at all, I meet you back here in… 3 hours?"

"Works for me, please take care Lucina" I waved as we split to accomplish what we needed to do. I robbed another person and bought a mask from a vendor. I ended up getting a mask that I found a bit familiar, mostly to a mask from my previous life.

I paid for the mask before moving on, if the tournament was comin up within the next week, I think that the Ylisse delegation including mom should be here soon or already be here. After asking about who is representing Flavia, I find out that the shepherds are already here. I am going to have to be careful if I end up running into mom, especially because I look similar to her, which would raise all sorts of questions.

I sighed and robbed another person so that I could afford a sturdy flux tome and a heal stave, I didn't have the time to make a proper one so I would just buy some instead.

After I finished my purchases, I put on my mask and met up with Lucina, who was going by Marth, and to my surprise, Baliso was there as well.

"Huh, so you're the mysterious person that marth recommended to me." Basilo observed me with his one good eye.

"Why should I allow you to join?"

"Besides the fact that I could trump your mages, if you even have any, and while I am definitely less skilled when it comes to melee, I am no pushover. I am willing to prove this to you if you deem it necessary"

Basilo chuckled "it definitely will be, follow me, I will show you to your opponent"

I nodded and followed behind him. I had no idea who I would be facing, but I should by far be enough to take them down.

I walked out into the area and found myself staring at some random mage. I sighed. I took my fire tome from one of the pockets in my robe.

I stood across the arena from the mage, and soon enough the battle began I casted Fire using the remaining 5 or so charges left in the tome, When they dodged, I threw the book at their face, a move that was only possible for a short while after the tome was used up. Disoriented by the hit to the face, I ran over and tried to punch him, he dodged and I went to kick him as my hands grabbed by Arcthunder tome. I began casting as the mage backed off, he tried to hit me with Wind, but I took the hit and some damage before hitting him with Arcthunder. He was knocked out.

And like that I was joining Lucina against the Shepherds in the coming tournament.

[Later that day]

"Lucina, do you have a plan for after the tournament? There is a bit of time before the Assassination… Actually do you even know the date of said assassination attampt, because I don't."

"I know the date Adam, and my plans involve searching preparing for said assassination."

"Do you have a plan for revealing yourself once the baby you is born?"

"Adam, I am not planning on revealing myself to Father and everyone else"

"Lucina… they're our parents, everyone's parents, I have no doubt that the others will want to join the Shepherds… except maybe Gerome… You of all people would love to be with your parents again, so at least think on the topic instead of avoiding it"

Lucina hesitates for a second "I'll keep that in mind Adam"

I paused for a second before giving Lucina a hug, I gave everyone I cared about hugs, or tried to at least, damn you Gerome, you hug hating pain in the ass. Lucina isn't the fondest of hugs either, so I tend to try and avoid giving her too many. I am physical in expressing my care for others, that and hugs were calming for me, physical proof that the people that I care about are still here and alive. I broke off the hug after a couple of seconds.

"I'll see you tomorrow Lucina, sleep well" I smiled at her before walking through the door and moving to my room.

I sighed, I was not looking forward to the tournament.

[Day of the Tournament]

I looked out upon the matchups, for both the individual matches and the group fight at the end. Lucina wouldn't have to face her dad until the group fight, I in all of my bullshit luck somehow got paired to fight my mom in the individual matches.

I was going to have to do my best to beat up my mother. Yay…

I walked into the ring, my cloak a version of what mom had, just changed to fit me, and my mask firmly on my face.
