Jaune stood in the middle of the room he and his team had been assigned yesterday. He was dressed in his new uniform, he admitted the new male uniforms for Beacon were smart looking. It was a little uncomfortable since he wasn't used to wearing things like this though.

Finally he slipped on a pair of gloves, he never went anywhere unarmed these days, one of the many lessons Felix bestowed him. After all it was always better to be prepared.

Since this was the first day of school he didn't do his usual morning workout and it looked like Pyrrha had the same idea seeing as she was still sleeping. Well it was a long day for all of them yesterday, so they deserved this break. However the last few years instilled in him a need to wake up early, he never slept in anymore, no matter what. The tort-training that Felix put him through made sure of that. Ren and Nora were lucky enough to avoid that, but they had their own unique training tailored to their skills he was happy to be no part of.

Felix was very thorough in his training, identifying weaknesses and strengths and creating plans to turn their weaknesses into strengths and making sure their strengths only grew further while making sure to drill, sometimes quite literally, the basics into them.

Things only got worse after Jaune learned what his semblance was. The ability to heal pretty much anything, even regrow parts that normally couldn't be regrown along with restoring stamina meant Felix could just up their training.

Stirring knocked Jaune out of his thoughts, Pyrrha was starting to wake up.

"Hey there, good morning."

Pyrrha stared at him with bleary eyes for a moment, she blinked a couple of times before answering. "Good morning."

"Don't worry you still have plenty of time to get dressed, although not to do any morning exercise. We kind of slept a little to late for that but after yesterday I think we all deserve it, and we don't want to be too tired or we won't be able to focus in class." Jaune told her.

"You're right." Pyrrha said as she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to get ready.

Jaune saw Nora quickly shoot up awake before quickly jumping onto Ren waking him up.

Soon enough the four of them were dressed and after having breakfast at the cafeteria made their way to the first class, Grimm studies with Professor Port. She was a stout woman with long grey hair and eyes that seemed to be permanently closed.

Jaune noticed that his sister and her team were already there and there were plenty of free seats around them.

"Have a good first night?" Jaune asked.

"Well we decided to get to know each other a bit, and yeah I think we managed to hit it off, it's still early days but I don't think we'll have any problems. And hey none of them snore so that's good." Rouge said.

Jaune nodded before looking at the rest of his sister's team, his attention was pulled away from them when the door was flung open and Ruby along with her team burst into the room, quite literally, they fell over each other into a stack with their leader crushed on the bottom. Once they got up they found some seats right in front of JNPR.

"Monsters, demons, prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grim have many names. But to me they go by only one name. Prey. And by the end of your time here at beacon you lot will think of them the same!" Professor Patricia Port started. "But first let me tell you a story of a young beautiful woman, me! When I was a child…"

From there the professor quickly lost the class's attention, Jaune at least was still able to pay attention while he was looking through some notes on new designs for dust infused clothing. Multitasking being an essential skill for any would be strategist. At least that's how Felix put it, but he was pretty sure that was just another excuse to cause Jaune more torment. Still it was a very useful skill to develop especially since it let him absorb the story the professor was saying and pick out any important details, so far it wasn't anything he didn't already know.

Looking over he saw his sister had her head resting on her arms on the desk, eyelids already dropping. Her team leader was writing down notes while the other two members of her team were on their scrolls. The rest of the class seemed to be in similar states as Professor Port went on completely unaware of what her storytelling was doing to her students.

Ruby was drawing something on a piece of paper before holding it up to show Weiss. Jaune notices the white haired girl was not pleased at all.

A few minutes later Professor Port's voice raised slightly catching the attention of the class, and waking those who were asleep. "The moral of this story, a true Huntress should be honourable! Should be dependable! And most of all should be wise! Now for a demonstration!"

The professor gestured to a large cage sitting in the room. Jaune blinked, when did that get there?

"You Jaune Arc, I've heard nothing but good things about you from Professor Kingsway. Come and show what one of the new future Huntsmen are capable of!"

Her sincerity had Jaune smiling as he walked down the stairs to the front of the class. Although he was a little worried as well, just what did Felix tell her and the other Professor's? What were they expecting from him? He stood a fair distance away from the front of the shaking cage.

"Professor I don't think Jaune should do this." Weiss said standing out of her seat slightly.

Jaune just rolled his eyes, was she really still going on about how men shouldn't be Huntsmen? Didn't she see anything during their initiation? Then again he did have Pyrrha and Nora on his team, she probably believed they carried him and Ren through it all. Well this was going to prove her wrong. Taking a quick glance at his sister he noticed she didn't look concerned at all, she did get a first hand experience of his skills so would know not to underestimate him.

Grabbing her weapon, a blunderbuss with an axe attached to the stock Professor Port spoke loudly. "Nonsense! From everything I've heard this will be nothing for him!" She then turned to Jaune. "But are you sure you wouldn't want to get your weapon?"

"There will be times when we won't have access to our main weapons for one reason or another. Keeping an easier to carry weapon on you at all times is only common sense." Jaune raised his hands showing his black purple patterned gloves. "Although even if I was to lose my secondary weapons I can still fight, how to beat Grimm with only your body was one of the first things we were taught by Felix, Professor Kingsway that is."

"Well spoken!" Professor Port boomed swinging her axe and breaking the lock on the cage before quickly moving away.

The cage door burst open and out came rushing a Boarbatusk Grimm. As soon as it saw Jaune it charged straight for him.

That was its first and last mistake.

Jaune maneuvered his body quickly to avoid the Boarbatusk's charge and lashed out with a punch. It landed right on its mask, which shattered instantly as the rest of the Grimm just exploded. Everyone stared wide eyed at the scene, Jaune with his arm outstretched as the scattered remains of the Boarbatusk quickly evaporated.

"Bravo! I was right in thinking this would be nothing for you! A true Huntsman in the making!" Professor Port enthusiastically said. "I look forward to seeing your future exploits, now that's all we have time for today. Class dismissed!"

Team JNPR, RWBY and KSHR walked together through the school halls after leaving Professor Port's class.

"That was amazing! I could feel that punch from where I was sitting!" Ruby gushed moving closer to Jaune. "How did you do that, was it the gloves?"

"No I didn't use the gravity gloves, just some aura manipulation." Jaune told her.

"That was impressive though." Pyrrha chimed in with a smile. "Aura manipulation of that level is not an easy thing to achieve."

Jaune, Ren and Nora nodded.

"It was hell, but worth it. Felix is…" Jaune trailed off turning pale and shaking slightly.

The rest noticed that Ren and Nora were also sweating.

"Professor Kingsway is a harsh teacher then?" Opal asked.

"He's generally easy going, but is a sadistic troll, he'll take care of those under him but won't hesitate in knocking a few skulls around if you are being an idiot in his eyes. When it comes to training, well he doesn't show any mercy. He'll train you until you drop then force you to keep on going after that." Jaune explained.

"Sounds rough." Yang said.

"It-"

Jaune was cut off as they turned the corner and spotted a sight that had all their eyes widen. Students who looked like they just came back from a war limped, crawled or were carried down the hallway moaning in pain. Only one of them looked to be in decent shape and was carrying two people, one over their shoulder and the other in a princess carry.

Jaune, Nora and Ren recognised that person. "Flynt?!"

The tall figure stopped in front of them, standing at six foot four with green eyes, black messy hair smiled at them. "Hi guys."

"You know him?" Rouge asked.

"Flynt Solar was another one of Felix's students, I didn't know you were also coming here." Jaune smiled back at him.

"Well I wanted it to be a surprise. Felix talked to the headmaster and I got put in with a second year team. The others have gone to different schools, we'll hopefully see them during the Vytal festival." Flynt told them.

"What happened here?" Blake asked staring at a faunus and human holding onto each other as they limped away, supporting each other.

"Felix." Flynt, Nora, Jaune and Ren said at the same time.

The four stopped and stared at each other amused.

"Felix had his first class this morning, there were a few students who were…not satisfied in having a male teacher. They thought he would have been a pushover and wasn't worth listening to. So he offered to take on the whole class." Flynt shook his head with a sigh. "He took them all out in seconds. Then healed them and told them to come at him with true intent to kill…then took them out in a few seconds. You know how he is, no mercy for idiots. Well I need to get these two back, speak to you later, introduce you to my team when they're actually conscious."

Flynt walked off with his teammates. The first year group watched him and the last of the injured students disappear around a corner.

"That pretty much sums up Felix." Nora said with a sagely nod. "I'm hungry, let's grab some pancakes!"

"Yeah some food sounds good right now." Jaune said with a laugh.

"Me and my team need to get our stuff sorted." Rouge told them. "See you later."

With that team KSHR walked off, leaving only JNPR and RWBY, or at least Jaune thought so until he turned around and saw RWBY had disappeared.

"I guess it's just us then…oh come on." Jaune muttered seeing his own team had disappeared.

Nora's head poked from around the corner. "Come on fearless leader, we've got pancakes to get to!"

Jaune shook his head with a smile. "I'm coming."

After grabbing something to eat the four of them decided to make their way back to their dorm and sort out their belongings. Not having the time yesterday or that morning, luckily they didn't have any other classes that day due to a teachers meeting.

After a little while they heard Weiss nearly screaming outside in the hallway.

"Should we go and see if we can help?" Pyrrha asked.

Jaune took a moment to think before shaking his head. "No, they would need to sort out their problems as a team or they would never truly become one."

Pyrrha just nodded but looked at the door for a few more moments before turning away to finish putting the rest of her stuff away.

Once they were all done Jaune stood in the centre of the room and nodded. "This is going to be our home for the next few years, we should probably get a few more decorations to personalise it, and no we're not getting a sloth." Jaune quickly cut Nora off when he saw her opening her mouth, she pouted at him.

Jaune smiled, he knew just the thing to cheer her up. "Now that we're all settled in how about we have a pancake party to celebrate? Ren think your up to making some of your famous treats?"

Nora disappeared from where she was reappearing in front of Ren with speed that surprised Pyrrha.

"I guess I'm up for it." Ren said with a slight sigh, before giving Nora who was staring up at his face with glittering eyes a small smile. He then started to lead the bubbly ginger haired girl out of the room.

Jaune looked at Pyrrha with a smile. "You really should try some of Ren's pancakes, they are like some kind of magic given form as food."

"Are they dating?" Pyrrha asked curiously, seeing the way they acted with each other.

Jaune shook his head. "No, slightly disappointing since they both are obviously in love with each other. But I think it's one of those things they'll come to realise soon enough. We're all just waiting for the moment, if you want to get into the betting pool it's twenty lien." Pyrrha lifted a hand to hide a smile.

The two walked out of the room to join the rest of their teammates. The redhead champion looked at her blonde partner with a soft smile, this looked to be an interesting year, and maybe these were the people she had been hoping to meet after all this time. Those who wouldn't put her on a pedestal for being the invincible girl.
