I don't own any of this Paranorman belongs to Laika and Five Nights at Freddy's belongs to Scott Cawthon
Norman met up with Neil at his house, he had been waiting at his mailbox while behind him his older brother Mitch is cleaning his van with rock music in the background. Seeing his best friend Neil waved happily which Norman did back, Mitch gave him a brief glance and rose his hand. "Sup Norman."
"Hey Mitch, so you ready Neil?"
"You bet Norman!" The two began their walk towards the town square. "So you know why Salma wants to meet us?"
Norman shrugged. "I have no idea, must be something important."
"Maybe it's about Freddy's."
"Could be. You know I actually dreamed about it last night."
Neil's eyebrows raised in interest. "You did?"
Norman nodded. "Yeah, you know how I get those visions?" Now Neil nodded. "I found myself in the middle of it when it was open; the animatronics were preforming, music was playing, the lights were on, the smell of pizza filled the place, and the sounds of arcade games and kids shook the building."
"Wow! What was it like?"
"It was interesting, the arcade was very fun and the animatronics were kind of interesting to watch."
"That's so cool! I wish I had the ability to do that."
"I wouldn't say that Neil, there was a creepy part."
"What creepy part?"
"There was this yellow rabbit there, it was standing in front of this door watching kids."
"It was standing there?"
Norman nods.
"And was watching kids?"
Norman nods again.
"That is creepy, I wonder why it was doing that?"
"I don't know, but it was concerning."
The two reached a busy crosswalk, they waited patiently for a chance to cross though judging by the amount of cars passing by it was going to take a while. "So did you by any chance hear the animatronics names?" Neil asked.
"Yep, the bunny is called Bonnie, the chicken's named Chica, there's a pirate fox named Foxy, and of course Freddy the bear."
"What about the yellow rabbit?"
Norman shrugged. "Have no idea."
Neil placed his finger on his chin and thought for a bit. "How about Yellow Bonnie?"
Norman thought about the name for a bit. "Yeah that sounds good."
Finally there is a break in the line of cars, Norman and Neil took this opportunity to cross the street and continued on their way to the town square to meet with Salma.
Crystal's Bar is usually quite during the late mornings as many of her customers were off at work. The usual customers were those that ended their night shifts or those who had a day off. Crystal is currently whipping one of her green glasses, her three regulars were enjoying their drinks, Mike just finished his and after letting out a loud burp placed his glass in front of Crystal.
"Hey Crystal how about refill huh?"
"Sure as soon as you pay for the last one." She replied with a smirk.
"Come on Chrises, you know I'm reliable."
"Your as reliable as a mosquito."
Everyone in the bar laughed, Mike gets up from his seat with a fake upset look. "Why I should take my business elsewhere!"
Crystal lets out a fake dramatic gasp. "Oh no! What will I do without your five dollar tip." Everyone in the bar erupted in laughter, Mike sat back down and turned to his bar mate as the laughter died down. Crystal returned to cleaning the glass, she places it back in the rack when the door open, looking up she saw a man with baggy eyes, dark hair, white shirt with a tie, black pants and shoes, and had this smile on his face that unsettled her a little.
The man walked up to the counter and took the seat next to Mike, he sat up straight and just looked at Crystal making her uncomfortable, nervously Crystal approached him, his eyes never left her. "Can I get you anything?"
The man spoke with a slight British accent. "Just a small drink miss."
"Coming right up." Crystal turns away from the man gladly, Mike turned to him curiously. "Haven't seen you around before."
"Just passing through." The man replied without giving him a glance.
"First time here?"
"No I've been in this town before. The town has changed since the last time I was here I see, wasn't this town witch themed?"
"It was, but ever since that night with the zombies this town turned from witch to zombie theme."
The man eyebrows rose up a bit. "So the witches curse was real huh?"
"It sure was, man that night was crazy between with the angry mob or the witch storm, yep it sure was a night no one would ever forget if you were there."
The man now turned to him with complete interest. "Tell me about the zombies."
"What do you mean?"
"How did they move? How life like they were? How much put together they were?"
Mike thought for a bit as those were very strange questions. "They limbed around, were life like as a zombie would be, and kind of held together."
The man clamped his fingers together. "Interesting."
"Why are you asking?"
"I'm just interested in how life works, more importantly life that shouldn't exist like those zombies for instance, they shouldn't be able to move without a nervous system."
"Well it was a supernatural event." Mike shrugged.
The man briefly nodded. "Yes there's that supernatural giving life."
"Are you planning on bringing some corpse to life?" Mike joked.
The man shook his head. "No, I find organic life to be quite dull. I'm more interested in mechanical life."
"Huh?"
"You know like animatronics."
"Oh those do hickey things I seen at Rainforest Cafe that one time?"
"Yes those ones, though the ones I make are much more advance and life-like." The man pulls out a picture. "Here's one of my proudest creations." Looking at the picture Mike felt both wonder and a little freaked out. The picture showed a clown girl with two pigtails, green eyes, a red skirt, and held a microphone.
"What is that?"
"I call her Baby."
"That's an interesting robot."
Crystal places his drink in front of him, the man grabbed it and drinked it rather quickly, he places his glass back on the counter along with the money for it, he then gets up without a word and walked out of the bar leaving everyone in it bewildered over the strange man.
Salma is sitting on a bench as she waited patiently for Norman and Neil to arrive. She had did some research yesterday and had found some interesting yet disturbing things that she believed her friends should know about. Eventually she heard the familiar happy voice of Neil. "Hi Salma!"
Looking over to her right Norman and Neil approached her, she gives them a wave as they got to the bench. "So what did you want to meet about?" Neil asked, Salma cleared her throat and straighten up her posture. "Well guys after our venture to Freddy Fazbear's yesterday, I got curious and did some research where I found some interesting yet some disturbing pieces of information." Both of them looked at her with now raised questions. "What do you mean by that?" Neil asked.
"Well the franchise had started out as a small dinner in New Harmony Utah, the dinner was known as Fredbear's Family Dinner; it housed two animatronics names SpringBonnie and Fredbear himself. The dinner was a great success as it stood out from other restaurants with being the first one to have arcade games. The suits for the animatronics were used as regular costumes and for the animatronics."
"That's sounds awesome!" Neil exclaimed.
"Unfortunately due to two incidents the place was shut down."
"Wait incidents?"
Salma adjusted her glasses. "That's right Neil, one was a incident about a kid getting shoved in Fredbear's mouth and got his head crushed."
Norman and Neil had their mouths open in shock. "And it gets much worse I'm afraid. The second incident that shut down the restaurant was the murder of the owner's young daughter."
"M-murder!?" Norman stuttered.
"Yes unfortunately. After Fredbear's shutdown Freddy locations started appearing across the country growing very successful even with what happened at Fredbear's. One had these toy animatronics but got closed about a week after it's opening due to a bite of 87. The one here is the one that closed all the other locations permanently."
"Why this location?" Norman asked.
"I only caught a few glimpses of a online newspaper before that pop-up blocked it, and from what I saw it seemed to involve children."
Norman and Neil were utterly loss for words from the information they got, they couldn't believe that Freddy's had such a history especially with that shocking murder at the original dinner, how tragic was it to have a kid murdered in a family friendly restaurant, especially since it was the owner's. Then there was that kid who got their head crushed, who would've thought that a animatronic would have the strength to crush someone's skull.
"Man the place has some history." Neil exclaimed.
Salma adjusted her glasses again. "Indeed it is quite shocking."
"So something that involved children shut down the place?"
"Yes Norman, though what it was is still a mystery. A mystery I intend to solve."
"Why do you want to solve it Salma?" Neil asked, Salma suddenly had this troubled look. "I don't know, I just have this feeling that I have to."
"So what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to find some information of the place and the only place that probably has some is the pizzeria." Salma then gets off the bench. "Me and Norman can come with you."
She looked at them unsure. "You sure?"
Neil enthusiastically nods. "Yes! Solving some unknown mystery should be fun."
"Yeah I'm down for it." Norman added.
Without saying anything else Salma, Neil, and Norman started their journey back to Freddy's.
