A/N: I'm a new and inexperienced writer, and I was inspired by some stories I read on here to write this one, so you'll find some similarities. I will also really appreciate reviews and mainly criticism to better my writing and this story

"Get away from me, hero scum!" screamed the villain, enraged that they were cornered by the young heroes.

They had tried to commit an act of terrorism in the name of hero killer stain, using their warping quirk to mobilize some small caliber villains around the city center. He was sweating after needing to run from the heroes via foot. 'I can still defeat these false heroes' he thought to himself and cracked a smile 'they'll never see it coming', but he knew he had to act quick before Endeavor and the half-and-half bastard finish the others and come for him.

Midoriya's P.O.V

He and Bakugo had finally cornered the warping-quirk user in some alleyway, the villain was sweating hard and had a look of terror on his face. It seemed like he was one of Stain's many devotees, committing crimes in his "hero's" name, and was currently begging them for mercy.

"Please! Let me go! I promise I'll never commit another crime in my life! Just please, let me go! ".

Midoriya felt a little sympathy towards the villain, maybe he just wasn't thinking clearly and was really sorry for what he'd done. Unlike himself, Bakugo shouted at the villain "Stop whining you bastard, you're going to get what you deserve! ", as Bakugo began approaching the villain, Midoriya took some steps forward as well, when they both got closer to the villain, ready to apprehend him, the whimpering villain suddenly cracked a smile and shot his hands forward, blue mist suddenly forming around the two heroes, Midoriya's eyes opened wide as he called out to Bakugo "Look out!", everything around them was blue now, and the last thing Midoriya heard before blacking out was Todoroki calling out his name

Warp Villain P.O.V

'Yes!' The villain thought to himself 'I got those two hero wannabes!' he couldn't help but laugh to himself before he heard a scream "Midoriya! Bakugo! " he couldn't even blink before his whole body up to the chin was covered in ice, he looked in horror to see the no. 1 pro hero Endeavor and the half-and-half bastard standing in the alleyway's opening, "what did you do to them!? " asked the half-and-half bastard, cold fury visible on his face, " I-I sent them away, please spare me! " he whimpered out, "Tell us where, now! " Endeavor bellowed, "I-I don't know, please, just please don't hurt me!", the look on Endeavor's face sent his entire body into shock, " Don't worry, we'll get it out of you eventually, after you spend some time with your fellows in Tartarus" Endeavor answered.

Bakugo's P.O.V

' I can't believe this bastard got me!' Bakugo thought to himself as he woke up as if out of sheer anger, first, he saw clear blue skies, with some birds flying above, and as he mustered the strength to get up, he started assessing the situation he was in, he noticed that damn nerd Deku still out cold next to him, next he noticed his broken grenadier bracers.

'shit' he cursed to himself

after looking around a bit more a noticed he was in the middle of a field, and not some villain hideout like he expected,' ha, seems like that bastard failed miserably', Bakugo's head began feeling heavy, 'probably a minor concussion' he thought to himself.

he remembered seeing two people approaching them from the edge of the field before he lied down and passed out.

Midoriya's P.O.V

Everything was black, before Midoriya woke up, as he woke up he didn't open his eyes, as to not alert the villains, only to feel warmness and a nice soft feeling on his back, not exactly what he'd expect of a villain hideout, he dared to open his eyes and noticed the wooden ceiling, 'nope, nothing like what I'd expect from a villain hideout'.

"A bed? Seems a bit weird, probably not a villain hideout after all', Midoriya muttered before he tried to sit up, but a sudden pain in his back forced him to lie back down.

"Good morning you damn nerd" he heard a familiar voice on his left, turning around he saw Bakugo lying on a bed next to himself, "h-how are you kacchan?" Midoriya asked his childhood friend.

"Hmph" was all Bakugo gave him, and then said "and before you ask, I have no idea where we are, I only woke up a little bit before you" Midoriya nodded, 'so, unknown whereabouts, probably a safe place' Midoriya noted to himself as he looked on the bandages on his body.

He turned around to ask Bakugo something only to realize with a sudden shock he was undressed "U-Ummm kacchan... ", "huh? " Bakugo inquired "Where are my clothes? ", Bakugo looked at him for a second before answering "over there on the chair, are you blind or something you damn nerd?".

"n-no, thanks".

Right as he answered Midoriya heard a creak of a door and looked where it come from.

"Oh! You're both awake?" A voice asked through the door. The speaker fully opened the door to reveal a woman wearing a nun outfit, with teal blue eyes and a mole right underneath her left eye. Midoriya she was beautiful and he slightly blushed at the sight of her. "I was really worried when I saw those two carry you here, saying they found you in one of the fields." She said as she walked over to them.

"W-where are we? I don't r-recognize this place." Midoriya asked still blushing. He tried his best to push it away and instead get answers for his confusion, Bakugo (Surprisingly) was still quiet, only narrowing his eyes.

"You're in the church of Hage." The nun answered, smiling at them.

"Hage?" He definitely never heard about this place in Japan. The exact specs of the warp-villains quirk was unknown, so possibly they were in a remote part of Japan, or maybe even another country? but that still doesn't answer the fact that, why would he send them here? Wherever here is? But since he and the nun spoke the same language, it was probable he was in Japan, even though he never heard of this Hage place, where the hell are they? "Sorry I don't k-know where we are, I can't remember a place called Hage…".

"Oh dear! You can stay here until you remember okay?" She said. Midoriya nodded.

"I appreciate the help." Midoriya said in a hurry. She quickly nodded and stood up from her seat. "Oh wait! Who's your friend?" the nun asked "he was so quiet I almost forgot he was here".

Bakugo finally spoke up "The name's Bakugo, thanks for your hospitality" this last sentence sounded as if it was said very unwillingly.

Midoriya gave the nun a shy smile and got up as he finally had the strength to sit up, "what's your name?" Midoriya asked the nun.

"I'm one of the sisters here, Lily."

Bakugo followed up with another question "you mention that some people brought us here, who are they?"

" they are outside right now" She answered with a nice smile before leaving the room.

Midoriya sat in silence before slowly getting off the bed. He stood up, with some pain in his legs, and got changed into his hero suit, Bakugo doing the same, He immediately thought to himself 'I hope the others back home are okay'. He Followed Bakugo out of the church, the sun blinding him for a second, as he heard Bakugo say "What the hell?!"

once his vision cleared up, he was met with a huge surprise. 'Holy Sh..?!' Midoriya thought as he saw the giant skull in the field. 'we're definitely not in Japan anymore. Where exactly did we end up?!' He thought still freaking out because of the skull. It wasn't even a skull he could identify, it had three eye sockets and horns. Like it's some sort of giant monster.

"LILY!" Someone shouted very loudly, so much so that Midoriya thought he was right next to them. The voice actually came from the side of the church. Midoriya, being confused and wanting an answer, walked over the corner of the church building to see a short boy standing on one knee with a flower as if he was proposing to the girl of his dreams. He has green eyes and messy, ash-blond hair with a single strand protruding upwards from the middle of his head. He has a black headband, which has a red four-sided star stitched on the headband. He has a plain-white tunic with a V-shaped collar underneath a dark blue jacket whose sleeves extend only up to his elbows. He sports a pair of matching shorts which has a stitch marks on the left side.

"MARRY ME!" He shouted with complete seriousness, with a voice that could burst eardrums easily.

"I'm pretty sure she can't be married." Bakugo said as they approached the scene.

"No" Lily answered bluntly as the boy turned white at her rejection and fell down to the floor. And then he immediately got back up. "I'M NOT DONE YET!" He screamed as he was basically in Sister Lily's face. As if out of instinct, she summoned a giant fist of water that hit the boy straight on the back. She quickly realized what she did and immediately went to check if he was alright. Midoriya's mouth dropped a bit at the power the sister used and mumbled to himself "whataquirkineversawsomethingquitelikethatanddidshesaidsomethingtoactivateit?" only to be stopped by Bakugo smacking him on the head.

"shut it you damn nerd".

"I'm so sorry Asta! I used the Grimoire's magic without thinking!" She said. The boy now known as Asta, somehow got up if he wasn't even hit with a giant fist made of water that cracked the ground beneath him, as if out of pure will power. "NOT YET!" He yelled. Midoriya had a bit of respect for the boy's determination, a very high determination for something so dumb, although he is being pretty annoying right now. Then a strong gust of wind knocked Asta away from the Sister.

"Asta. Are you causing trouble for the Sister again? You did the exact same thing yesterday, and the day before that." A younger child said. Next to her, was a tall man with a lean build who had amber eyes, and messy black hair. He wore a pitch-black shirt with a high collar and long sleeves. The sleeves have brown leather that covers the wrists and upper arms. He wears light brown pants that are cut below his knees and with two brown belts crossing each other on his waist, Additionally, he wears a pair of dark-colored socks and a pair of brown boots. He has his finger pointing at Asta, that seemed to be glowing green.

'So, he created the wind.' Midoriya thought. 'Is it his quirk? It reminds me of Inasa's quirk, and what's that about a grimoire, is that what those books are?'.

"YUNO! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Asta screamed at the man as he jumped back up.

"Asta, tomorrow we're heading out for the Castle City to take the Magic Knight Exams." The man named Yuno said in a calm tone with a similar facial expression.

"HOW DOES THAT ANSWER MY QUESTION!" Asta said.

'Magic Knight? Do they not know what a quirk is? Maybe I should have Bakugo pinch me to wake me up from this dream.' Midoriya thought as he turned towards Bakugo, who was heading into the church, so Midoriya decided to follow him inside, lying on the bed to think about the weird situation he has gotten into. 'Maybe some sleep will help.' He thought to himself, He was still pretty tired after the attack on the city center and his eyelids felt heavy. He slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.

A Few Hours Later

"Hey."

No answer.

"Hey..."

Midoriya moved a little in his sleep.

"Wake up!"

Midoriya tiredly opened his eyes. He turned his head to see the boy named Asta standing next to the bed he was on and Yuno trying to wake up Bakugo.

"Shut up or I'll kill you!" well, at least he knows Bakugo is okay.

"What?" Midoriya said confused as he barely woke up. He quickly looked around and remembered his current situation 'so, probably not a dream. what exactly have we gotten ourselves into'. "Oh! Is s-something wrong?"

"Nah. Just that you have been asleep for a long time. My name is Asta! What's yours?" The boy said as he took out his hand with a smile. Midoriya returned the smile and shook his hand.

"Izuku, Izuku Midoriya." He boy responded before adding "and my friend here is Kaccha- Bakugo, Katsuki Bakugo".

"What were you doing laying on the field like that? Did you get in a fight?" Asta asked, and Midoriya couldn't answer, if he did, they'll probably think he's crazy, he gave Bakugo a look, which the latter returned, as if silently understanding Midoriya's idea, Bakugo spoke up "We don't remember".

This statement confused both Asta and Yuno, Yuno giving them a skeptical look, "Asta, everyone is waiting for us at the dining room." Yuno said as he began heading for the door. "They can explain everything there. Is that okay with you two?" Yuno asked.

Midoriya nodded as it would be better to explain with everyone there, and not to each individual. They got up and made it to the dining room. Everyone stared at them at their entrance, focusing on the young heroes because of their weird clothes that made them really stand out, Bakugo even forgetting he still had his mask on. but most were focused Midoriya due to how different he looked compared to everyone else, with his green hair and dark green outfit and bright red shoes, covered with a black layer that looked like metal.

He then noticed the other residents of the church. There were four kids, Lily and an old man who probably was the priest. Everyone took their seats with Midoriya sitting across of Asta and Bakugo sitting next to Midoriya. Midoriya looked at the food and noticed something about it.

'It's All potatoes...'.

"Tomorrow's the day Asta and Yuno set out for the Royal Capital. We have to send them off with a bang." The priest said with joy, but nervousness, and Midoriya could swear there was a tear at the edge of his eye.

"Father went to all the surrounding villages asking for tatoes." Lily said, as Midoriya sweatdropped at the weird name.

'They're just potatoes, enough potatoes for a whole week!'

"Father!" Asta said with a smile and with so much happiness in his eyes that it looked like he had actual stars in his eyes, "What's with that look? This isn't just for you! Actually, it's mostly for Yuno." The Priest, who was referred to as Father, said as Yuno wore his usual blank face. "Father!" Asta said again, only now annoyed.

"Well, you know… Yuno might make it into the magic knights, but you're..." Father paused, as if trying to find the right words, to not hurt Asta's feelings.

"E-Excuse me?" Midoriya asked, catching the attention of everyone in the room, making them all look at him. "What's a Magic Knight?" He asked. Everyone looked at him with a weird look, like a combination of confusion and shock "What?".

"HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT A MAGIC KNIGHT IS?!" Asta screamed as he stood up and started shaking Midoriya by the collar, even though Asta was shorter than him by a good 10 cm.

'H-He's s-strong!' He thought while being shaken around by Asta. The ash-blond was knocked off Midoriya by Lily who used her water fist quirk (magic?). "T-Thank you, Sister Lily." Midoriya said with a shy smile, to which she returned her own small smile "It was nothing. Asta is a... energetic boy." She said.

"I seemed to have lost my memory on what "magic" is and I have no idea what a Magic Knight does." Bakugo said, finally speaking up. 'It seems like Bakugo caught on'. He knew they couldn't tell them they came from another world(possibly?), who would believe them? So he chose his second-best option, pretend to have lost his memory on the most important things, that seemed to be magic and magic knights.

"Oh, dear! I thought you just couldn't remember where you're from." Lily said as she covered her mouth in shock. Midoriya shook his head.

"No, I don't know anything about this whole magic stuff." Bakugo said, which was true. How do they use magic, from what he'd seen up until now, they had some similarities to quirks, with each individual possessing a power of their own, like the nun possessing water powers and Yuno possessing wind powers, maybe they are inheritable like quirks? But that was a question for later.

"Well, everyone can use magic, and at the age of 15 they receive a Grimoire based on the user's magic type 'so at least I was right about that'. They allow the user more spells that they wouldn't be able to with their natural magic." Lily explained. both Bakugo and Midoriya nodded, understanding at least the basics of magic in this world.

'So, everyone can use magic, even if it's weak? I wish that was the same for quirks.' Midoriya thought with some jealously, thinking of the unfair discrimination towards the quirkless back home.

"Except for Asta." The red-haired kid stated. Bakugo looked at the ash-blond boy in confusion.

"JUST YOU WAIT I'LL BE ABLE TO USE MAGIC SOMEDAY! I GOT A GRIMOIRE! Asta screamed as he stood up, Midoriya felt sympathy for the boy, remembering his own childhood.

'That doesn't make sense though.' Midoriya thought as he looked at the pouch to hold his Grimoire Asta had on his waist. 'If he doesn't have magic, then he shouldn't have a Grimoire. Right? At least according to what the nun has told them, so how does he posses a grimoire without possessing magic first?'.

"Enough!" Father said as Asta sat went back to his seat and mumbled something in annoyance. "Izuku, Katsuki, do you have one?", Midoriya was a little confused by being called Izuku instead of Midoriya, back home only close friends called each other by first names, heck, even his classmates called him Midoriya.

Midoriya shook his head. "I don't remember getting one. Or did I even have one in the first place?" He said, Bakugo simply said "no". This surprised everyone around the dining table. "Anyways, please answer my question." Midoriya said.

"R-Right. Magic Knights are people who protect the people of our kingdom." Lily said as Midoriya gained a small smile. 'Just like the pro heroes back home! Well, if I'm stuck here for a while, then I might as well become a Magic Knight. And maybe I could find someone with magic that can bring us back home.' Midoriya thought. "Hey Asta, Yuno." Both boys looked at Midoriya.

"What is it?" Asta mumbled as his mouth was full of tatoes.

"D-do you think we can tag along? we're interested in becoming Magic Knights." He asked. The room went silent for a second.

"What! Without a Grimoire?!" Lily said shocked that Midoriya and Bakugo decided to become a Magic Knight so quickly and he doesn't even have a Grimoire with him.

"We can at least try, right? There is no harm in trying to get in and if I fail, I could try again later. Right? Besides I must have some magic, just not like the others.", Bakugo smiled wide "just watch me" was all his said, his body filling with excitement in anticipation for a challenge.

Asta smiled liking what Midoriya and Bakugo were saying.

"Besides I always wanted to protect people with a smile. To tell them that's it's okay. That everything is fine as long as I'm there." Midoriya said as the kids looked at him with some admiration, "and I" Bakugo said "will show everyone I'm the strongest" his wide smile still on his face.

"SO COOL!" This was surprisingly Asta as he was knocked out of his sad state and was also looking at Bakugo and Midoriya with stars. "Your goal is almost the same as mine! I want to become the Wizard King!"

"Asta." Yuno said getting said boy's attention, " you know I'm going to become Wizard King." He said bluntly with a blank face and a tiny smile.

"EHHH?! I'M GOING TO BE WIZARD KING!" Asta screamed angrily.

"Ummm I have another question" Midoriya said , with Both Yuno and Asta turning towards him, "What's the Wizard King?", Asta brain seemed to have blanked out for a second before he grabbed Midoriya's collar and screamed "HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT THE WIZARD KING IS!" he screamed some more before again being blown away by, this time by Yuno.

"the wizard king is the strongest mage in the whole kingdom" Yuno simply said, which prompted Midoriya to about his home 'so it's just like our hero rankings, with the no. 1 standing at the top!' , Bakugo's smile only widened after hearing this, with a goal set in his mind, he said "I'm going to become the wizard king, and be the strongest!".

This prompted looks from everyone around the table, the room falling into silence, before the priest broke the silence by saying.

"Asta, you know there's no need to be embarrassed even if you fail the exam." The priest said seriously said as Asta was confused.

'That must've stung.' Midoriya thought knowing what the priest said. 'They basically told Asta that they didn't believe in that he could be a Magic Knight.' , this hit home, with Midoriya remembering his own childhood.

"Huh?" Asta was confused.

The priest then made a less serious face. "No one believes you're going to pass, anyway."

Along with the sad memories from his childhood, he also remembered all might giving him hope and encouragement, and helped him become a hero, and so he spoke up "I believe in you, Asta!".

This prompted a smile from Asta, "thank you very much, Izuku!". Before the priest spoke up with another comment.

"You can come home at any time." The priest said, a pity smile plastered on his face. "Your home is this church, no matter how crappy or poor it may be, it's your home."

"That's right Asta." The oldest girl of the children said.

"I'll be lonely without Asta and Yuno here" Said the youngest girl, her face dropping downward, with a sad look.

"We're all family!" Shouted the youngest boy which brought a smile onto Midoriya's, thinking on how happy they look together.

"Y-You should say that to Yuno, too." Asta stuttered pointing to the boy he mentioned. "Tell him he can come back whenever he wants."

"Yuno will be fine" The priest said turning his face away from Asta not wanting to see his reaction, which was a look that was a combination of betrayal and shock. Midoriya however was really caught off guard.

'I guess magic is everything in this world. Without it you are basically doomed to fail, It's really is just like back home with quirks.' Midoriya thought with a sad smile.

"What do you mean?! Besides, I'll be fine, too! I'll become Wizard King and then I'm gonna come back for Sister!" Asta said with pure determination. Midoriya sweatdropped at Asta's motives. "So when that happens, marry m-AHHH" Asta started to say before being punched into the wall by Lily and her water fist, Bakugo gave him a look and said "you can't marry a nun, asshat!".

"All right, let's eat!" She said, ignoring Bakugo's comment and pretending like she never punched Asta in the first place. Everyone wasn't bothered by the fact Asta was smashed into the wall, except for Midoriya, which was a little confused 'is that normal here?'. "We have stewed tatoes, tato tempura, grilled tatoes, fried tatoes, stir-fried tatoes, streamed tatoes, Hage-style boiled tatoes, tato juice, and even special tato pudding!"

'It's all potatoes...' Midoriya thought with a sweatdrop, confused with the strange menu.

"Yay! Let's eat!" Yelled the two youngest children as everyone else started grabbing tatoes. "So flaky and delicious!"

Midoriya swore to no longer eat tatoes ever again.

The Next Day

Bakugo's P.O.V

Everyone woke up early to see Yuno, Asta, Bakugo and Midoriya get ready to leave for the Magic Knights Entrance Exams. Himself, Yuno and the nerd didn't carry anything since they didn't have anything of importance, but the loud bastard carried a bag over his shoulder.

"Take care, all of you." Lily said.

"You better write to us, Yuno." Said the oldest girl.

"Sure" Yuno answer with a small smile.

"Asta will be back soon." Said the red-haired boy in a bit of a rude tone.

"Nash!" Asta said, very annoyed that they constantly say he'll fail the exam. Bakugo felt weird because of the similarity between the loud bastard and the nerd.

"But you know...if, just if, and it's a very huge if, if you get into the Magic Knights" The boy, Nash raised his fists up with a face of determination. "I'll believe in possibilities. I'll believe I can become anything. And then one day, I'll get into the Magic Knights, too." He said before turning away. "No, never mind."

"I think he's trying to say, he believes that you can do it, asshat." Bakugo said to Asta, which embarrassed Nash a bit, "where is that coming from?!" Asta asked Bakugo with annoyance.

"I'll be waiting for you." Asta said, smiling at Nash, already knowing what he really meant.

"Well, I'll be off." Yuno said as he started walking away.

"Hey, airhead, wait up!" Bakugo said before trying to walk towards Yuno. The nerd smiled and walked up to the nun.

"Thank you so much for your hospitality." Midoriya said as he bowed and ran towards Bakugo.

"Well, bye guys!" Asta said as he walked backwards and waved goodbye at his foster family. They returned the goodbye.

"Have a safe trip! See ya!" They all said as the four boys walked towards the sunset, filled with excitement towards an unknown adventure.

It was currently summer. And so Bakugo decide to take off his suit jacket and remained in only his suit's sleeveless shirt, he was filled with only one thought 'I'll show all the bastard at that capital who's the strongest one around', with a smile on his face as they started their journey to the royal capital to where the Magic Knights Entrance Exam is taking place.

Midoriya's P.O.V

"Hey, Izuku," Asta called out to Midoriya.

"Huh? What is it?" Midoriya said.

"What's with your outfits?" Asta asked while they were walking through a forest. Although Yuno was quiet, he listened to their conversation, being curious as to what the answer was.

"Oh! These are our combat suits. We use it for battles. And we are wearing these because we were in a battle" Bakugo shot him a look "…I think?" Midoriya rushed to say, with the answer leaving Asta confused.

"You said you had magic, right? Then why would you need a combat suit if you can mostly attack from a distance?" Yuno asked, with Asta reiterating it was a good question. "Most never start using magic in close-combat unless they are forced to do so. Sure, having armor is good, but your suits look more flexible and seem to offer little to no protection.

Bakugo answered before Midoriya could do so "The nerd's magic mostly can't be used from a distance, and I prefer close range myself."

"Its close range and it combines with my body. So, if I want to use it in a fight, I actually have to get up close and punch, and sometimes I can use a ranged attack, but I mostly use close range." Midoriya added. they decided to make the excuse that their quirks are their magic, because there seems to be a similarity between quirks and magic.

"Can you show us your magic?!" Asta asked, now interested in the type of magic Midoriya and Bakugo possessed, with Yuno giving both of them a look, clearly curious as well. "Sure" Bakugo said, with Midoriya adding "I guess we can, let's find a suitable place".

"I'm so excited for the entrance exam!" Asta said with a grin as he ran up ahead and jumped on top of a tree stump.

"Excited? Aren't you scared?" Yuno asked but despite what he said, he didn't seem worried at all, with his blank face.

"Huh? Why would I be?" Asta responded, confused. Why would his rival say something like that? Wasn't he supposed to cheer him on?

"What about you two?" Yuno questioned

Midoriya answered "somewhat excited, it seems familiar to something I did in the past." Midoriya answered remembering the hero entrance exams. He was very nervous and afraid that he didn't earn any points. He was honestly very lucky that U.A. had rescue points or he wouldn't have been standing here right now, but he feels like the Magic Knights Entrance Exam will be easier as long there aren't giant robots roaming around a city, or maybe, giant monsters?

"Come on, let's hurry! The royal capital is super far away!" Asta said as he started running. "I got to hurry up and become Wizard King!"

"Just because you get there quickly doesn't mean you'll become the Wizard King earlier." Yuno said still walking. Midoriya looked at Asta with a big smile.

'This Wizard King thing is very important to Asta. He's kinda like myself. He's willing to not give up until he reaches his goal. Asta seems that kind of guy to have a good reason to be Wizard King, and he was sure Bakugo has already made it his goal as well, after knowing him since childhood.

"I'm gonna become Wizard King and then..." Asta grabbed a stick from the floor and pretending it was a magic broom, he told his fantasy of having Lily fall in love with him.

"You can't marry a nun, you loud asshat" Bakugo said, Midoriya deadpanned at the boy. He was really confused about how and why Asta was so determined to try to marry a sister of the church.

"It could happen." Asta finished his story while still riding his "broom"

"Can you even ride a broom if you don't have any magic?" Yuno asked. This caused Asta to drop his stick in shock and Midoriya to chuckle a bit at Yuno's bluntness.

"I'll make it work!" Asta said as he picked up his bag from the floor and quickly threw it over his shoulder.

"Will you now?" Bakugo replied unconvinced, "you're too loud for anyone to bear".

"EHHHH what are you talking about" Asta said looking back at Bakugo. "I can do anything as long as I put my mind to it",

Bakugo then asked Yuno "How do you live with him? " with Yuno shaking his head as a response.

'Although they seem to fight, they really do care about each other. Even if some of their responses are pretty harsh, but I did grow up with Bakugo, so maybe they don't have it so bad' Midoriya thought as Asta started running down the path again.

"I'll leave you guys behind, Slowpokes!" Asta said stopping for a second. "Let's train all the way to the royal capital!" He said and continued running. Midoriya sighed knowing Asta was probably being serious and they all started running after him.

"Hey! It's not a bad idea." Midoriya yelled as he quickly paced himself. 'Wait. Does Asta mean the entire way? Surely not…' And much to Midoriya's dismay, Asta did mean the entire way to the capital.

They sprinted nonstop for a few minutes before stopping to take a breath. Asta resting on the ground and Yuno with his elbows on his knees, with only Bakugo still looking stoic, and Midoriya standing up straight, taking deep breaths.

"Not done yet...not yet!" Asta said before starting to run again. "Ehh?! Already?! Seriously?! Wait up", 'what's up with him?!' Midoriya thought as he immediately chased after him with Yuno and Bakugo slightly behind them.

"Stop. We've got a long way to go." Yuno gasped very tiredly sitting on a rock as Asta was laying on the floor, looking drained of energy. Midoriya and Bakugo were both leaning on some trees, taking in large breaths. And then, as if out of pure will power "Not yet! I'm not done yet." Asta said very tired somehow getting up quickly and started jogging. But before he could get any further, he was grabbed by Bakugo making him run in place, before he threw him to the ground, Asta landing on his back with a grunt, effectively stopping him.

'This will be a long journey.' He thought.

After resting for a bit, Asta regained some energy and asked "So, can you show us your magic now?", they were in a small clearing with no one else around, and so he decided it was ok, And he said "Sure, I guess we can show you two". Midoriya and Bakugo both stood up, "First I'll show you mine" Midoriya said, grabbing the attention of Yuno, who gave him a curious look. Midoriya shifted into a stance, green lightning started buzzing around his body One For All: Full Cowl 5%!

Asta gave him his starry-eyed look "OOHHH! What this? lightning magic? I've never seen someone use magic like this! What can you do with it?" Midoriya smiled before launching a roundhouse kick at a nearby tree St. Louis Smash! easily smashing it to smithereens. "Wow!" was all Asta said, with Yuno adding "So you coat yourself in magic to strengthen your physical abilities?".

"Yes, kinda", Midoriya answered, as he shut off his quirk, Asta then turned his attention towards Bakugo "So what about you? Do you have some super awesome magic too?", Bakugo smiled at the question, and answered by activating his quirk, he pointed one of his palms at the forest, with his palm glowing orange before an explosion erupted from it, destroying some trees in its wake, "COOL! Explosion magic! And it looks so strong too" Asta said with his starry-eyed look, with Bakugo looking back at them, smiling.

For the next few days Asta, Midoriya, Yuno and Bakugo walked miles and miles, covering themselves from the rain, sleeping for the night while Asta accidentally burns his hair from the campfire and Midoriya helping him put it out while Bakugo shouting at them, and Asta using his giant sword to hunt a giant boar-like creature. While they were eating the boar-meat they cooked Midoriya had a question.

"Hey Asta." The ash-blond haired boy looked at Midoriya. "Does your sword do anything special? Other than being a giant boar-hunting sword?"

"I think it cancels magic." Asta answered as he took another bite of the boar meat. "When I first got it, it was when I was fighting this one guy and my sword just cut through his magic like nothing." Midoriya nodded.

'That's very powerful in a world where supposedly everyone has magic, Like Aizawa Sensei's Erasure quirk' Midoriya stared at Asta as he ate with a curious look. 'Not to mention the fact that Asta must be very strong to hold that giant sword like it's nothing. "From what I saw, Asta seems to swing that sword pretty fast for its size. So, he probably thought physical training will help him get stronger when he didn't have magic, I wonder what his training regime must have been to make him that strong?" He muttered out loud as both Asta and Yuno awkwardly stared at him in silence.

"Hey Yuno" Midoriya said, getting his attention "How exactly do the Magic Knights work?"

Yuno answered "The Magic Knights are separated into Brigades, and each brigade is lead by a captain, after the Magic Knights' exam, candidates are offered places on a brigade, or even several, they then can choose whether to accept or not to"

"Thanks, Yuno" Midoriya then thought 'then it's more like the sports festival, where heroes can offer internships'.

They continued their journey getting lost in a fog before Yuno used his magic to get rid of it, almost being crushed by a rockslide but was blocked by both Yuno and Bakugo, striking before he or Asta had the chance. They gathered fish to eat for the day by catching by hand except for Yuno, slept in the open under the bright stars, walked through a scorching desert and ran some more because of Asta's antics.

As they climbed the top of a rocky mountain, they all saw something amazing. An open field with a giant mountain in the middle that had a spiral uphill circling it with a giant town on top of it.

"Whoa, The royal capital is huge!" Asta saying what they all thought at the sight of the capital.

"So that's the royal capital?" Yuno said as Midoriya looked at the city, and remembered the huge bustling cities from back home.

"That's where the Entrance Exam takes place? On top of there?" Midoriya asked.

"All right! I'm gonna do this! I'll be right there! Just you wait!" Asta said as he started running down the mountain they stood on.

"Yuno." Midoriya said. Said boy turned his head at Midoriya. "Thanks for bringing us along even though you didn't have to." Yuno smiled a bit and nodded as he looked at Bakugo, "hmph" was all the gratitude he'll give him apparently, not unlike Bakugo, Midoriya guessed, they both ran down to catch up with Asta.

Once they made it to the town, they headed towards the coliseum in which the exam is taking place, and on the way, they looked at the buildings and people of the capital in amazement. Without anyone realizing Asta sneakily bought a weird snack while they walked around town despite the warnings he received from Yuno. When they got there, they could see the entrance was crowded by people cheering on the candidates.

"Do your best!"

"The kingdom's fate is in your hands!"

"You are the Kingdom's hope!"

"Don't you worry! I'll do my best!" Asta said as he waved at the crowd with a clueless smile.

'So, we are in the Clover Kingdom? Are there any other kingdoms?' Midoriya thought, still confused about what this world is. 'Learning about this world will have to wait, for now, I have to focus on the exam.' He looked at his hand 'this time, it will go differently', They got in line to get registered to take the exam with Yuno, Asta, Bakugo and Midoriya, in that order. Then it was Yuno's turn.

"I'm Yuno from Hage village" Yuno stated.

"Yuno from Hage...could I see your Grimoire?" The man behind the desk asked. Yuno took out his Grimoire from his pouch and showed it to the man.

"A f-four-leaf clover..."The man said in shock. The candidates around them sounded surprised and started whispering among themselves.

"is a four-leaf clover grimoire better than a normal one?" Bakugo asked Asta, with him answering "yes, it's very rare, the first wizard king also had one, the clover symbolizes hope, faith and love, the Kingdom's principals, and the fourth leaf represents good luck!". Bakugo nodded at the explanation.

Bakugo followed up with another question, "So asshat, wouldn't we need a grimoire to register ourselves?", both Midoriya and Asta were shocked, realizing that all the other candidates carried grimoires with them. And all of them used them to sign in for the exam. 'Crap! we'll need a Grimoire to even take the exam!'.

Asta recovered and said "crap! We never even thought of that! But I'm sure that if you'll ask nicely, they'll let you, maybe, I hope?" that wasn't what Midoriya wanted to hear.

"You're #164. All right, next." The man said as Yuno moved out of the way for Asta.

"I'm Asta, also from Hage village! Here's my Grimoire!" Asta said very excited as he took it out. Midoriya couldn't see it that well. He was able to see it was very dirty, and looked weird compared to the other grimoires he saw around with the other candidates.

"This is really dirty. Is this really a Grimoire?" The man asked leaning a bit close to inspect it.

"Huh? Of course, it is! Take a good look at it." Asta said as he shoved his Grimoire into the man's face. "See? See?"

"All right, all right..." The man said annoyed as he touched it and it glowed white for a second. "You're #165."

"Got it!" Asta said as he ran off, probably to find Yuno.

It was now Bakugo's turn "Katsuki Bakugo, I don't remember where I'm from, deal with it", the man looked a bit annoyed, but asked "what do you mean?", to which Bakugo said "I don't remember, that's all there is to it", the man let out a sigh "well whatever, grimoire".

Bakugo gave him a sinister smile and said "I don't need one, I'll crush everyone here with my own power", the man gave him a look and said "well whatever, you're #166" Bakugo responded with "hmph" and walked away.

The booth man said "he's 100% failing"

'Crap! Should I do the same as Kacchan?!' He mentally screamed. He thought only of two options, either imitating Bakugo, or trying to ask nicely, he chose the latter. The man looked up at Midoriya "name and place of birth?".

"M-My name is Izuku M-Midoriya from...I don't remember." The man raised an eyebrow.

"Again, with this, what are you people talking about?" The man asked.

He started mumbling to himself "I lost some of my memory a while back, so I don't r-remember where I live". The man gave him a weird look and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Whatever. Grimoire?" The man grumbled out, clearly already tired of doing his job.

Midoriya rubbed his head. "F-Funny story, I l-lost mine." He said. The man sighed but wrote something down on the paper before looking back at the boy.

"Whatever, you're #167" the man said as he checked that he wrote it.

"E-Eh? Really?" Midoriya said surprised by this. The man nodded "I don't have the time for this, do as you like", Midoriya slowly walked away.

'That kid is also definitely going to fail.'

Midoriya was in a crowd of people who all were waiting to take the exam. Everyone was standing around, chatting to pass the time, when suddenly a bunch of dark-blue birds with white bellies, black beaks, and red-colored faces started flying around the candidates. Some of the candidates were surrounded by more birds than others, some of them even pecked by them.

"Hey! Ow! What the heck are these birds?!" One candidate asked, waving his hand to try and scare them off, but didn't work.

"The infamous anti-birds of the exam venue." One answered back.

"Really? these things?" The man sounded both annoyed and shocked that these birds were special.

"The weaker your magical powers, the more these guys flock you." Another one informed.

"Hey look at those guys" The guy said, ignoring the birds. In the open Yuno had no birds surrounding him. "None of the birds are going to him."

"Hey! It's the guy from earlier!"

"He's from some remote village called Hage, yet he's got a four-leaf Grimoire!" One said pointing at Yuno.

"A four-leaf? Seriously?"

"What about the other guys." Obviously talking about Midoriya and Bakugo.

"The thing is, he doesn't even have his Grimoire with him!"

"Wait seriously?! No wonder so many birds are going to them, if they are so weak, they don't even have their grimoires!".

"ha, who do they think they are, coming to the exam like that"

"and what's with those weird clothes?".

Midoriya was embarrassed from all the attention and the things the other candidates said, Bakugo, on the other hand, was visibly pissed, veins popping up on his forehead, and tiny explosion blowing up on his palms.

"Oi, damn nerd" Bakugo said, referring to Midoriya, "We'll make sure to kick their asses later". he gave Midoriya a sinister smile, it was unlike Bakugo to not immediately burst out at anyone that insults him, but he probably considered that he shouldn't do it, since they were at the exam venue, and he didn't want to damage his score.

"One of us is going to become the Wizard King. Our legend's beginning now, Yuno!" Asta said covered from head to toe in anti-birds with one even sitting on his head like a nest

'well,' Midoriya thought 'maybe we don't have it that bad, unlike him'

"I'm gonna show you just how much I've grown in six months, ow, ow, ow, ow!" Asta was interrupted by the constant pain of the birds pecking him and started running away from the birds to avoid getting pecked.

"What's with that kid?", "Talk about a loser!" One said as some started laughing at him. Midoriya was a bit annoyed at the comments, but he knew he couldn't really do anything to stop it and he didn't want to risk making a scene at the venue.

"GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU STUPID BIRDS!" Asta screamed as he continued to run around the area, yelling in pain, before bumping into someone that knocked him to the floor, but the other man still stood. As soon as the birds followed Asta near the man, they got scared and flew away. "They finally flew away. sorry for bumping into you." Asta said before looking up at the man.

"I'll kill you brat." Said the man with a very murderous intent, even looking like he had an aura of death. The man was tall with a very muscular build and had a cigarette in his mouth. He has black eyes and black hair of medium length that is messily combed backward, making it stick outwards. Additionally, he has a stubble mustache and beard, His attire consists only of a white tank top and black trousers. The trousers have an extra layer of leather that covers his outer thighs and his knees. He wears black high boots that cover most of his calves, and is wearing a black banner with a bull's skull insignia on it. He wears it over his right shoulder and it is attached by two strings to his left shoulder. The banner also has tattered edges, seems to have been ripped off from a bigger banner, or perhaps a cape?

'He doesn't look like a candidate, more like a gangster' Midoriya thought to himself, 'I can feel his overwhelming aura and strength with my own instincts!' Then Asta, completely obscure about who the man might be, place a hand on the man's shoulder and put on a smile.

"Man, you look old! You must've had a hard life!" Silence from everyone around him, even Midoriya who had a face of disbelief at the act of stupidity he had just commit. Then the man reacted by grabbing Asta's head with one hand and lifted him up like he was a ragdoll.

"It appears you're ready to die." The man said with his eyes tired, but showing he's ready to ruthlessly kill his prey. Midoriya walked towards the man ready to interfere before two men came from behind wearing a similar robe to the gangster-looking man.

"Oh, there he is! What are you doing down here?" Asked a brown-haired boy. The boy wears a white undershirt, and a light green, loose-fitting tunic with long sleeves and long tails at the back on top of it. He also wears dark trousers and a green pair of wide, knee-high boots that lace up the front. He wears his grimoire holder on his left hip and he is also wearing a pair of green earrings.

"I'm about to end this shrimp's life." He responded as Asta continues struggles to escape the man's grasp even with his muscles growing viable veins as proof he was using all his strength.

"Hey isn't that..." A candidate said looking at the brown-haired boy.

"Is that the great Finral Roulacase? The user of rare spatial magic?" A girl finished. Finral gained a smug smile as he heard this and walked up to the girl.

"Hey, you're cute." He said as the girl grew a faint blush either from how close he was or that he called her cute. Midoriya couldn't tell each it was.

"He's famous for being so girl-crazy that it gets in the way of his duties!" One said. Midoriya was surprised by this, it didn't sound like a good attribute for someone tasked with protecting the kingdom and keeping the peace.

"And that's Gordon Agrippa! The expert on incarnation magic!" He is a slender, young man with pale skin and short black hair that is slicked back. He wears black eyeshadow in large circles around his red eyes. He also wears black lipstick and nail polish. He wears a dark grey jacket red trimming and red cuffs. His pants are a matching grey and are tucked into knee-high black boots. He wears a black belt over his jacket and a black pouch for his grimoire hangs on his left hip. His dark grey peaked cap has a black band and bill and a Bull badge. Both of the men have black robes showing they're in the same squad as the tall man, that was still holding Asta by his head.

"I heard that he's impossible to talk to... and also scary." One commented while looking at them.

"Whoa! Cut it out! A Magic Knight squad captain shouldn't kill an exam candidate!" Finral said, surprising all the candidates.

"Squad captain? You mean he's..."

"The Lord of Destruction, Yami Sukehiro?!" One said as Yami started counting down from ten.

'Lord of destruction? Wonder what got him that name. Hopefully not for a bad reason.' Midoriya thought, sighing, hoping he would let go of Asta's head.

"WHAT ARE YOU COUNTING DOWN TO?!" Asta yelled as Yami slowly started to use more pressure to squeeze his head.

"The end of your life." He said very calmly, but with somewhat an annoyed tone. At this point Midoriya decided to step in and help the boy.

"Yami? The captain of the Black Bulls?!" Once they figured out they were from the Black Bulls they mostly had the same reaction. Everyone knew about the reputation of the Black Bulls and backed away from the members, except for Midoriya, which walked toward the Black Bulls' captain.

"Um. C-Captain Yami?" The man looked at him in annoyance, but kept his firm grasp on Asta's head. "Can you l-let him go please?" Midoriya asked with a smile that made him look like an innocent child. For a second, Yami didn't do anything before grabbing Midoriya's head with his other hand "Eh?"

"Might as well kill you too." Yami said calmly as Midoriya didn't know what to think of the situation, but as soon as he felt Yami's fingers claw at his head he was able to think again, just not clearly.

"W-Wait w-why?!" Midoriya stuttered as he tried breaking out of Yami's grasp. 'He's strong!' Asta also tried breaking out, which surprised Yami of the amount of strength both boys were using trying to escape with their muscles even visibly tensing up. Despite that, Yami kept counting down to their deaths.

Midoriya was just about to activate One for All to escape his current predicament, when Yami counted down "One…" before being interrupted by fireworks, signaling the start of the exams.

"Come on, the exam is about to start." Finral said as Yami let go of both boys, dropping them to the floor. They both immediately started rubbing their heads due to the pain they just experienced.

"Guess you get to live a little longer, shrimps" Yami said as he walked off. "Better take good care of the life you just got back. Or I'll kill you." He said.

'WHAT?!' Asta/Midoriya thought since that statement didn't make really make sense.

"Wish the captain would kill me, too." Gordon whispered, unintelligible to all others, as he left with his squad. Midoriya then got up, with Asta following suit.

"Thanks for trying to help Izuku." Asta said as he continued rubbing his head.

"No problem." Midoriya said. Asta thought for a second.

"Izuku. Why did you want to be a Magic Knight?" Asta asked andMidoriya gave a small smile. "It was always my dream to become a hero and protect everyone, even if I get hurt or even die in the process, as long as I can save and protect people." Midoriya said.

"har-har! You okay?" Someone said. "Must've been rough, having captain Yami of the Black Bulls in your face like that. Oh, I'm Sekke. Sekke Bronzazza." The man said.

He has a lean build and medium-length blond hair. His hair is combed backward and held together with a black hairband, leaving only several strands left hanging in front of his forehead. He wears a grey shirt with a dark grey vest with a wide V-shaped collar on top of it. He also wears white trousers and a pair of black high boots that have a pair of tan belts on each of them. He has a tan belt that is connected to a pouch that he uses to carry his grimoire. The pouch is placed on his left-hand side. On top of everything, Sekke wears a magenta coat with long sleeves and black horizontal stripes around the forearms.

"Nice to meet you! har-har!" Sekke said.

"I'm Asta! Nice to meet you! This is Izuku." Asta said pointing to himself first and then pointing at Midoriya. Before Midoriya could speak, all the anti-birds flew away and the captains of the squads appeared.

(I was planning on writing this down, but nah.)

After all the captains showed themselves, Asta looked as if he was searching for a certain someone.

"Where's the Wizard King?" Asta said still looking around.

"Har-har! The Wizard King wouldn't bother coming down to the exam. It's a miracle in itself that all the captains have gathered in one place." Sekke said.

"Candidates." William Vangeance, leader of the strongest magic knights' brigade, the Golden Dawn, spoke. Everyone looked at the masked captain. "Sorry to keep you waiting. I will be conducting this exam." He took out his Grimoire and it started flipping through the pages by itself. It then stopped on a page, before his grimoire glowed green. "Magic tree, descend!" The sky darkened, and a bright green light appeared in the sky. There was wind blowing and a giant tree fell from the sky, stopping a few feet above their heads. The roots started to grow longer, and twisted itself, forming brooms. Each person was given one.

'So, this is the man who's closest to the Wizard King.' Asta/Yuno/Midoriya/Bakugo thought as they looked at the man.

Bakugo got his broom and said "What're we supposed to do with these, clean the floor?", with Midoriya questioning the exam himself.

"We will now begin the Magic Knights Entrance Exam." William said as his Grimoire closed by itself. "We will have you all take several tests. The nine of us will evaluate your performance and then we will select the candidates that we would like to add to our squads. If chosen, you will join that squad. If you're chosen by more than one squad, you may choose the squad you would like to join. On the other hand, those who are not chosen by any captain are not qualified to join the Magic Knights." He explained which must have been pretty obvious.

'I'm gonna get into the Magic Knights, no matter what!' Asta thought. Midoriya was interested in how they chose candidates for their team 'maybe there are combat trials? I hope there isn't a magic test, because neither I, Bakugo or Asta have magic…'.

"For the first test, we will have you get on those brooms and fly 'F-Fly? On brooms? That's a magic-powered world for you' Midoriya thought. Mages who can control their magical powers should be able to do this instinctively. It is the most basic way to travel. If you cannot fly a broom, you shouldn't even be here." William said as most of the candidates understood what to do. "All right, begin!" As soon as he said that, Midoriya sighed, and waited around for the test to end, seeing Bakugo do the same, realizing they can't pass the test without magic. Asta and the captains noticed this.

"Izuku? Katsuki? What's wrong? You have magic, right?" Asta questioned.

Midoriya answered "I do, but..." he paused for a second. "For some reason it's not exactly…working." Midoriya half lied since he wasn't sure it was everything, of course it wasn't working, it wasn't magic in the first place. Asta nods slowly and the captains decided to keep an eye on the three boys for the rest of the tests. Everyone was flying except for Midoriya, Bakugo, and Asta who was trying his best to fly.

"What's the meaning of this? No matter how much one might be lacking in talent, they should be able to at least float." Said Fuegoleon Vermillion, leader of the Crimson Lion Kings, having his hand on his chin.

"Talk about pathetic." A candidate floating on a broom said.

"I guess we were right to think they were pathetic after all." This was pointed towards the three of them.

Midoriya saw how close Bakugo was to burst out, but thanks to some sort of divine intervention, he kept cool, for now, a sinister smile spreading on his face "just you bastards wait" he said.

"Guess we're down three rivals already." Midoriya ignored the comments while Asta still tried using magic.

After the first Broom-Flying test, came several other tests, all consisting of magic-related abilities, so, naturally, Asta, Midoriya and Bakugo failed all of them, while Yuno was busy amazing everyone, breaking new records in every test.

All the captains were watching Asta, Bakugo, and Midoriya the most. Asta, because it seemed like he couldn't even use magic at all and they were watching Midoriya and Bakugo for multiple reasons. They were all told they both entered without a Grimoire, and they weren't attempting any of the tests. Those two… were definitely abnormalities.

"All right. The next test shall be the last one. You will engage in actual combat." William said. Everyone was surprised, and Bakugo looked as if he was boiling with excitement, ready to burst at any second, a sinister grin plastered on his face.

"You'll be battling! You will pair off and fight with your partner. You may use your Grimoires to attack." Fuegoleon explained, as everyone talked among themselves. "Fighting is our duty! Show us your true abilities!"

"As soon as one of you yields or become unable to fight, the test will be over! There will be mages who can use healing magic on standby." William explained as Midoriya grinned.

Midoriya was off to find a partner to fight, seeing everyone talking to each other. He saw Asta looking stressed and trying to find someone to fight with. 'I can understand no one pairing up with Asta, they are probably thinking they won't be able to show their true strength to the captain while fighting the magicless kid', Midoriya thought to himself, only to see the weird-speaking guy from earlier approach Asta.

"Har-har! Fight me Asta!" Sekke said from behind Asta. Asta fell to the floor.

"Sekke! You're willing to fight a loser like me?" Asta said happily.

"But of course! Har-har!"

"You're such a great guy!" Asta said.

Midoriya had some doubts. He had a thought in the back of his mind telling him that he probably wanted to fight Asta only because he looked to be the weakest one around, but he was in for a surprise.

Midoriya was about to ask Bakugo to be his partner, but instead he saw Bakugo shouting, looking for the Strongest opponent that "had the balls" to fight him, then, a guy stepped out of the crowd, he has long, blond hair, tied back in a long ponytail, mostly-slanted green eyes, and wears a white shawl and small stud earrings, "I'll be your opponent" he said.

"Isn't that Salim? From the famous Hapshass family?"

"You think you're all special being a peasant taking the exam without your Grimoire, but your nothing compared to me. I'll show you are far below us nobles, and you peasants can't compare to us nobles, both in status and power." Midoriya flinched a bit for the rude thing that man just said. "Oh, and of course, in wealth too."

"hmph" Bakugo retorted, sporting his sinister smile, "Bring it on goldilocks".

"First combatants, come forward!" The referee said. Asta and Sekke went first. Everyone had to clear from the middle of the coliseum since that was where the fighting was going to take place after all.

"Let's both give it our all and fight fair, so we can achieve our goals!" Asta said with a smile. Sekke then got closer and seemed to whisper something to the boy before walking away to distance each other. Midoriya noticed that Asta lost his smile and knew Sekke is trying to take advantage of him.

"Sekke chose the weakest looking guy" A random guy commented.

"Never underestimate an opponent" Bakugo said "Underestimating any opponent could lead to defeat", another guy laughed at that "as if a magicless peasant could defeat anyone"

"Begin!" The referee started the match as Sekke's Grimoire came out of his pouch.

"No holding back, all right? Let's do this, Asta! Har-har!" Sekke said as his Grimoire had a light blue aura, the pages flipping as if in the wind. Suddenly, transparent-cyan pieces started forming around him to create some sort of bubble around sekke, with some cannon barrels on the surface of the bubble, pointing outwards. "Bronze Creation Magic: Sekke Magnum Cannonball!"

'that's a neat spell' Midoriya thought to himself 'both offense and defense in one package, and it would be an incredible battle spell, that Asta couldn't beat, unless his sword cancels magic, that is'.

"There's no need to hold back. Come at me! Har-har!" He said winking at Asta.

"Sure thing. Here I come." Asta said calmly as his Grimoire had a very dark red aura. He took a step back and ran, breaking the solid concrete floor as he lunged forward. While he was running, he reached towards his Grimoire that had a handle popping out and took out his sword.

'He's fast. Is he using some kind of high-speed movement magic?' William thought.

'No... he's just physically powerful.' Yami thought as well before figuring it out. Both captains were surprised by the speed.

'Wow' Midoriya thought 'he is strong! Probably compared to me when I use 5% of One for All, even though he has no magic!'.

Asta raised his sword above his head before bringing it down forcefully down onto Sekke bubble, cutting the shield in half effortlessly, The ground shattering under Asta's immense strength. Everyone was speechless that a short boy from the sticks like Asta was able not only to break sekke's spell easily but also beat him so quickly.

Bakugo could only grin in an "I told you" moment, looking at the people who stood next to him.

"I'm not joining the Magic Knights so I can have a good time and avoid working hard." Asta said talking to an unconscious Sekke. Asta swung his sword and placed it on his shoulder. "I'm here to work my butt off and become Wizard King!" He had a dead-serious expression. It felt as if it was the moment in which Asta could prove himself, but then the comments came.

"Is that sword magic?" someone said

"He just...said something about the Wizard King." Another commented

"What the heck?"

"Who is he?"

"isn't he just some loser from the sticks?"

"SHUT UP ALL OF YOU! I TOLD YOU I'M GOING TO BECOME THE WIZARD KING! YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?!" Asta said, annoyed by what everyone was saying.

"Is he stupid?" some noble said

"What the heck is that peasant saying?" another added

"Must've embarrassing being a completely delusional idiot."

"Just get outta here already, you stupid brat!"

"WHO'RE CALLING A STUPID BRAT?!" Asta screamed at the candidate who said that as mages came to carry Sekke's body away from the field.

Yami's P.O.V

"Could it be some kind of creation magic?" Finral asked his captain as they watched the unconscious boy being taken away. "Judging from the other parts of the exam, it didn't seem like he had that much magical power."

Yami took out his cigarette from his mouth, "He's not using magic." Yami stated, confusing finral. 'Actually, maybe it's not that he's not using magic. It's that he doesn't have any magical power.' Yami thought as he remembered when he grabbed Asta's head. 'Come to think of it, I didn't sense any mana from him. And yet he wants to become the Wizard King, huh?' Yami stared at Asta before moving his eyes to the two boys who arrived at the exam without their grimoires 'the green-haired boy didn't have mana either, but I don't know about the blond one. They both came here without their grimoires. how exactly do they expect to pass this test?'

Midoriya's P.O.V

More and more candidates partnered up and fought their battles. Midoriya was interested in watching them since they kinda reminded him of quirks which he loved to take notes on.

"Midoriya was it?" A voice asked from behind him. Midoriya turned around to see a man with Short blond, almost white hair in a neat haircut and light amber eyes. He is well built and tall, and sporting a white long-sleeved shirt, with the sleeves folded up to just beneath his elbows, with black trousers and black knee-high boots, plus a golden bracelet with an elaborate design of his left wrist.

"Y-Yes?" Midoriya stuttered due to the sudden appearance of the man.

"Why don't you pair up with me? My name's Jesse by the way" He asked as Midoriya nodded. He had a small grin on his face, and said "lets both do our best alright? To make our dreams come true!" Midoriya smile and said "Of course, I'll give it all I've got", to which the man responded "great! Then let's go after these two" he pointed at Bakugo and Salim, both of which were now going to the center for their match.

"Begin!"

"You should know that it's going to be an honor being beaten by me, the great Salim de Hapshass." He stated cockily as he fixes his hair. "I'll beat you with the best spell here! The Holy Lightning Rising Salim!" A big ball of lightning formed above Salim, but before he had a second to launch it, Bakugo was already in the air, propelling himself with his explosions.

"What is he doing? No mage ever fights like this!" A candidate said watching the fight.

"I'll pay for your trip home." Salim said as he launched the attack straight at Bakugo.

The attack didn't faze Bakugo, he easily evaded it, using an explosion to redirect his course

"What a unique way of attack, I've never seen something quite like it" Captain Fuegoleon commented.

"what I want to know is how he can do this, but couldn't complete any of the earlier tests" Captain Nozel added.

Bakugo, seeing his opportunity, used another explosion to propel himself towards the noble, and then, being only a couple meters away from him, he pointed both of his arms, with open palms, towards Salim. "you should've never underestimated me, bastard!" His palms glowing orange in the tell-tale sign he was about to release an explosion.

"DIEEE" he sent out a medium-sized explosion at the noble, the shockwave sending him flying , knocking him out cold. This spectacle impressed some of the captains, and making the examinees' jaw drop.

"D-Did he j-just..." one spoke out, stuttering

"B-Beat a n-noble that quickly?!"

"Y-You can't be serious!"

Asta had his mouth opened in pure shock and Yuno eyes widen seeing that their new friend had some serious magic, in their case. Bakugo stood there for a second before basking in the glory of proving everyone wrong.

The captains were surprised by the quick attack and power dealt by the Explosion boy, but mostly by his unique fighting style.

"He beat a noble in a couple of seconds and with one attack." said Charlotte Roselei, captain of the Blue Roses, shocked, a notable feat for someone from well…" nowhere" was written as his place of birth, and without a grimoire.

"If he would maximize his potential, who knows how much stronger he can be." Fuegoleon commented as Bakugo was currently being praised by Asta.

"He also seemed to barely put any effort in that attack. He's holding himself back. I could tell." Yami said as he puffed out some smoke. The captains, were now a bit more curious about the strength of this boy. Everyone at the exam venue learned not to underestimate anyone ever again.

After the recovery mages took Salim's unconscious body from the fighting grounds, it was Midoriya and Jesse's turn, as they both walked to the center, Jesse offered Midoriya a handshake, which Midoriya promptly took. "you know" he then said "my dream is to become a strong magic knight that gets rid of the discrimination at the capital and protects the people".

Midoriya then looked at him with admiration "really? I myself want to be a hero that protects everyone, no matter the cost".

Jesse grinned at Midoriya's statement and responded, "Then let's put our dreams on the line in this fight!".

After they put some distance between them, the word was heard

"begin"

Jesse's grimoire floated next to him, his pages flipping as if a wind was blowing on them, as the grimoire started to glow a warm golden color, before Molten gold Appeared before Jesse and started forming a shape, Gold Creation Magic: Greedy Dragon's Lair! , a golden spike wall solidified before Jesse as he cried out to Midoriya "Bring it on!".

Midoriya responded by shifting into a stance, green lightning started buzzing around his body, as Midoriya grinned at Jesse, One for All: Full Cowl 20%.

Midoriya then lunged forward, pulverizing the ground beneath him with sheer force, he then started sprinting towards Jesse, who decided to use his magic again, with a couple of golden blobs taking shape beside him, Gold Creation Magic: Fallen King's spears! They then took the form of golden spears with elaborate design, who came flying at Midoriya's way.

"He's done for now" someone in the crowd said

"That's what he gets for thinking he can take down a noble" another commented

Bakugo didn't even bothering to turn around when he said "that damn nerd always knows how to break out of a tough spot"

Midoriya let the spears get relatively close to him before counterattacking, One for All: Full Cowl – Shoot Style! He then kicked around in mid-air, creating air pressure to repel the attacking spears.

Then, Midoriya took his opportunity to strike, swiftly evading Jesse's Spike wall, and coming within striking distance to Jesse, "You've been a great opponent, Jesse!" Midoriya said, Jesse seeing he didn't have time to counter, could only smile, before Midoriya landed his final strike, 3% St. Louis Smash! finishing the battle by delivering a roundhouse kick to Jesse, which knocked him out cold.

Midoriya stood over Jesse's unconscious body, turning off his quirk and heading towards his friends, although he had a feeling he just made a new one.

That last battle invoked a lot of chatter among the candidates, and some talking among the captains.

"What's with those guys without the grimoire?! How can they be so strong?!"

"They both defeated nobles with no effort…"

"Who are these peasants?!"

Bakugo was enjoying the current attention he was getting from the other examinees' who now took their distance from him, while Midoriya was mostly embarrassed by all the attention.

"What's with these two boys? When I heard they didn't even have their grimoires, I was sure they'll be swiftly defeated in the combat trials" Said captain Fuegoleon

"I can understand that green-haired kid getting stronger and faster by coating himself with lightning magic, but how did he blow those spears away is what I wanna know" said jack the reaper, captain of the green mantis.

Captain Nozel then spoke up "although they have shown us their battle prowess, remember they failed all other tests"

(After this, Yuno fights and beats some cocky noble, I decided not to write this since it would have been pointless anyway cause he'll beat them in one second and having another fight scene would be exhausting)

Battle trials end, Timeskip!

"This concludes the exam. Now candidates whose numbers are called, please step forward."

"The squad captains will raise their hands if they would like you to join their squads" Charlotte said, standing up from her seat. "The candidates will decide if they would like to accept or decline, and if they are chosen by more than one captain, they may choose which squad they'd like to join."

'I hope someone chooses us' Midoriya thought to himself, he knew him, Bakugo and Asta proved themselves during the combat trials, but they did still fail all previous test, which probably hurt their chance. 'and I hope Jesse gets chosen as well, the guy had a righteous goal and deserves to follow his dream'.

"But if no one raises their hands the candidate will not join the Magic Knights and will leave immediately."

"Candidate #1, step forward."

People were called one by one, and no one got accepted until candidate #71 by the Purple Orcas giving the examinees some tiny hope, but not really. This went on as people either joined or not until it was Jesse's turn.

"Candidate #98, step forward"

"All who wish to offer, please raise your hands." Surprisingly, captain Fuegoleon raised his hand.

Jesse looked as if he was brimming with joy "let me join the Crimson Lion Kings", Fuegoleon nodded and Jesse walked back towards the crowd.

The process went on again, with Midoriya mostly tuning out, until it was Yuno's turn.

"Next, #164." They called as Yuno grabbed his pendant as if it was for good luck. He sighed as he walked up to the center, standing before the captains.

"All who wish to offer, please raise your hands." Slowly, all the captains raised their hands as everyone was in complete and utter shock.

"Th-That's amazing. I-I thought that only royalty and nobles could join the Golden Dawn." One candidate said.

"Even the Silver Eagles?! Seriously?! But he's a kid from the boonies!"

"Please allow me to join the Golden Dawn." He said as William looked pleased that Yuno joined. Yuno walked off and it was Asta's turn. He walked forward as Midoriya gave him a thumbs up.

"I'M READY!" Asta stood up completely straight and was anxiously shaking, but he kept his confidence.

"All who wish to offer, please raise your hand." Asta sweat in anxiety as he waited for anyone to raise their hands. But after a few seconds, the results were clear. No one wanted him in their brigade.

"Number #165, no offers." Asta stood there, not believing what just happened. Midoriya was annoyed.

Midoriya was saddened at that 'but that is the nature of the world, just like back home, maybe it's just that those without power really can't accomplish anything…'. He clenched his fist and grits his teeth. 'Why is power the thing that makes someone worthy of recognition?!'

"Well that's no surprise. No matter how high your combat skills are, if the source of your power is unknown, no one wants anything to do with it." Yami said as everyone waited for what he exactly meant. "In the end the only thing desired from a Magic Knight is their magical powers.". Everyone looked at Yami to see him surrounded by a purple aura and the ground seemed to shake.

'What i-is this? Is this his magic power a-alone?!' Midoriya thought, feeling strength flowing from the gangster-looking man. Yami jumped off the viewer seats and onto the battle area where the candidates are. He stared at Asta with intimidating eyes that would scare anyone.

'S-So much pressure!' Midoriya thought to himself, 'Is this what villains felt when confronted by all might?!' Yami walked slowly, but in an intimidating way towards the Asta, until he was just a few feet away from Asta, who was still standing strong, somehow keeping cool in the face of the captain's intimidation.

"And since you have no magical powers, no one wants you. That's the harsh truth." Yami took out his cigarette from his mouth. "You said earlier that you wanted to become Wizard King, didn't you?" Asta gritted his teeth, trying his best to keep cool, as much as his insane willpower allowed him. "Which means you're going to surpass the nine captains, here right? Now that I'm standing before you, do you still have the nerve to say that you're going to be Wizard King even without magical powers?" Asta clenched his fist and looked down, but his eyes seemed to burn with passion for his dream.

"Even if I can't join the Magic Knights today, no matter how many times I fall, no matter what anyone says to me..." Asta looked straight into Yami's eyes as he spoke. "I'M STILL GOING TO BECOME THE WIZARD KING SOMEDAY!" No one moved or spoke. Midoriya was smiling, admiring Asta's huge amount of determination and confidence to be able to say that he's going to be the best no matter what, even at the face of all odds and everyone saying he can't become a magic knight, which kinda reminded him of himself. Yami stared at Asta for a few more seconds before he stopped glowing, as he stopped exerting his magical powers. He grinned and started laughing, which left everyone dumbfounded.

"You're funny, kid. Join my squad." Yami said pointing at the boy. Everyone was shocked by this. The boy who that everyone thought was going to fail, with absolutely no chance of passing, passed, even though so many others failed to get accepted. Sure, he was accepted into the worst brigade, but he still passed.

"Huh?" Asta said, seemingly confused at what he was being told.

"I'm telling you that I'll let you join the Black Bulls." He said before sending a look that would kill. "By the way, you can't decline."

"What?!"

"I'll make life so miserable for you in the Black Bulls that you'll be torn to shreds so be ready for that." Yami said, as if it was a normal thing to say.

"WHAT?!" Asta seems to be very lost on what's going on.

"And then, someday become the Wizard King." Yami said out of nowhere. Asta seemed to daydream for a bit as Yami had a grin plastered on his face. Asta then smiled back at him.

"Yes, sir!" Asta responded

"Quick question." Yami said turning to the captains. "Who wants those two?" He said pointing at Midoriya and Bakugo. No one said anything.

'Those kids are strong and all, but it seemed like they couldn't use magic at all in each of the previous tests. Really strange, but it's something to investigate in another time' Yami thought to himself.

"Good." Yami said as there was no response. "Cause I want you to join the Black Bulls. And again, declining isn't an option".

"Eh?" Midoriya could only say, as Bakugo just simmered, unable to express gratitude, Midoriya supposed, as Yami returned back with the other captains. Yuno could only smile that Asta and the two strange boys were able to join a squad.

"#152, no offers. This concludes the Magic Knights Entrance Exams." Everyone who failed the test had to leave and return to their homes, and the people who passed went with their new captains. Yuno, Asta, Midoriya and Bakugo all grouped up outside the exam to say a goodbye to Yuno before he went away with the captain of the golden dawn.

"Yuno! You're a Golden! And all of us are Bulls! This is where our true battle begins!" Asta claimed. Yuno and Midoriya had a smile, while Bakugo still simmered, although he mostly accepted his fate by now.

"Yeah. Let's see who'll-" Yuno was interrupted by the grumbling of Asta's stomach. Asta quickly, and comedically, ran off screaming along the way.

"What?" Midoriya said, visibly confused.

"I think it was the thing he eat earlier." Yuno said as Midoriya remembered seeing Asta buy something to eat on the way here, even after being told not to. Yuno headed in the direction Asta went, Deku seeing Sekke, Asta former opponent, entering the restroom after Asta as well.

"You got some nerve, making me wait." Yami said when Asta returned.

"How long does it take you to take a dump?" Yami said.

"Actually, it was really something!" He got up closer to the captain to emphasize. "It was long and huge..."

"That's not what I meant!" Yami picked up Asta by the head again, Asta trying to wiggle out of his grip. "Who asked you to start talking about your turds, you moron!" Yami turns to Finral. "Let's go, Finral."

"Right-o" He said as he had his Grimoire in one hand and opened a portal with the other. The portal was very white, shimmering, and it was impossible to see the other side of it, it kinda reminded Midoriya of the warp-villain's quirk 'so maybe it's possible for us to return home after all!' he will have to ask the man now known as Finral about his magic later on.

"What's that?" Asta said in pain since Yami keeps adding pressure to his head.

"Since you three can't magically fly you're going to have to learn some transport magic, too. Oh, wait! You don't have any magical powers" Yami said laughing at the end as he realized the real truth of Asta. Bakugo lashed out at him "I can fly, muscle- head!" before Yami grabbed his head with his other hand "who do you think you're talking to?". both Bakugo and Asta struggled to get out. Midoriya really wanted to help, but didn't want the anger his new captain either.

"Sorry to bug you Yami, but it's a bit hard to keep a gate this size open so could you just go through quickly?"

"Who do you think you're ordering around? Tough it out, and surpass your limits." Yami ordered as Finral struggled to keep his portal open.

"Plus Ultra?" Midoriya said, now thinking he kinda resembled a muscly Aizawa, at least appearance-wise, Yami then looked at him with a strange look on his face.

"Off you go." Yami threw Asta and Bakugo through the portal as they both screamed. The screams disappeared as they went in. "You too." Yami said as he picked up Midoriya as well and threw him through the portal.

"W-What?!" Midoriya was about to land face first in the dirt, but thanks to his fast reflexes, he landed with a roll before standing upright. Yami and Finral both came walking through the portal, as three boys looked at the building in front of them, the one that is going to be their new home. It had a very odd shape and seemed to be made out of smaller buildings meshed together in an illogical manner.

"This is the Black Bulls'..." Asta couldn't finish the sentence, amazed at the sight of the weird building.

"Well? Pretty magnificent, isn't it?" Yami said, proud of his base,

"It's actually pretty run-down." Finral commented in the background.

"it looks like trash" Bakugo added, getting a look from the captain.

Midoriya rubbed the back of his head and gave a shy smile "it looks really nice, thank you for accepting us".

"Welcome to the Black Bulls."

"Starting today, I'm also going to be..." Asta was amazed. He got off the floor and ran up the door. Midoriya and everyone else staying back. Asta slammed the door open..."I'm Asta from Hage Village! I'll be joining the Black Bulls tod-AHHHHH!" And was interrupted by an explosion that launched him right back to the feet of Midoriya, who was a few meters away from the door. He landed headfirst and it was stuck in the ground, Midoriya immediately went to check if he was alright.

"Welcome to the absolute worst Magic Knights Brigade, the Black Bulls." Yami said with a grin as the fire continued burning in the building behind him.

'What have we gotten ourselves into?' Midoriya thought.

I did plan on bringing one or more characters from my hero into the mix, but I'm having second thoughts, if you'd like to see that tell me in a review, and maybe even suggestions on who should I add, although I already have an idea.
