Chapter 3: Higher-up

Midoriya P.O.V

"This Is your room" Magna told Asta as he opened the door to a crappy-looking room

"Huh"

"Well? Isn't it depressing how small and filthy it is?" Magna said, taunting Asta "By the way, my room is twice as big…" before seeing Asta turn around with his starry-eyed look, understandable considering he grew up poor in a church. "My own room!"

"I-I've never had my own room!" Asta said "At the church, we all shared a room, so we'd sleep lined up next to each other." He then started frantically cleaning the room "I'm gonna get you so clean! Until you're all sparkly and shiny!"

"Better get scrubbin'." Magna told Asta "You're free to do whatever until we get a mission." Before laughing to himself. "Oh, by the way, Asta."

"Yeah?"

"Make sure you write letters."

"Huh?"

"To everyone at that church of yours. They're your family, right? I'm sure they're worried about how things turned out."

"Right!"

"Don't make anyone worry about you. That's how to be a real man. See ya! If you need anything, come see me."

"Right, thanks!"

They then left Asta , Magna guiding them through the corridors, it was pretty silent before Bakugo spoke up "If my room is that crappy, I'll kill you!", Magna then turned around and said "Nope, I gave that room to Asta as a prank, but seeing it made him happy I decided to just let him stay there, Most of us have normal rooms" he flashed a smile at Bakugo, who calmed down now.

After escorting them both to their rooms, which were both pretty standard, he headed to his own room "I'll come by tomorrow to show you around, sleep tight!".

The next morning

Midoriya was sound asleep, exhausted by all that happened to him the previous day. His bed was warm, and he had a dreamless sleep. He then heard a knock on his door. He turned in his sleep, not wanting to get up from his warm bed. After that came another one. And after that, he heard a voice "Oi! Izuku! Wake up already!", after this, his eyes shot open, and he slowly got up from the bed, dressing up in his hero costume, before opening the door, seeing Magna waiting outside with Bakugo.

"Good morning Magna, Kacchan" Midoriya said

"Oi Izuku, I noticed you called each other by other names, are those nicknames?" Magna asked, with Midoriya responding "Ummmm…yes, childhood nicknames, I think" Midoriya said, acting as if he really lost his memory "You can call me Deku if you want, but …" he was interrupted by Bakugo who spoke up "if you call me Kacchan, I'll kill you!".

"O…k? then Deku it is!" Magna said

They then proceeded to go pick up Asta, and as they got there, they saw Asta run out of his room and run into a stone pillar, cracking him. 'This wasn't here yesterday, I'm sure of it' Midoriya thought to himself. "Hey, newbie. Did you sleep well? " Magna called out to Asta.

"Ah, g-good morning! Um, sir, about this pillar…" Asta responded, noticing the misplaced pillar too.

"what about it?" Magna said

"I don't think it was here yesterday." Asta said, "Don't worry about a pillar. The base itself changes its shape all the time." Magna told Asta, acting as if it was normal." Wh-What!?" Asta exclaimed. "Don't worry. You'll get used to it." Magna told them.

"Really?"

Not answering Asta's question, deciding to take them on a tour of their new headquarters "All right, let's go. I'll personally show you around the Black Bulls' cool base!", he then exclaimed "Follow me, shrimps!"

"Got it, Mr. sunglasses!" Asta said as himself, Bakugo and Midoriya started running with Magna, who then responded "Moron! You mean the Great Magna!", with Asta answering "Moron! The Great Magna!" in his stupidity.

"You don't need the "moron" part!" Magna said angrily

He then proceeded to give them the full tour of the base. First , he showed to the cafeteria, which look too big for the amount of people in the squad. He also spotted the small girl known as Charmy, stuffing her face full of cake. Next, he took them to the public bath, which was comprised of a big bath full of water, with the water coming out of a stone dragon head on the wall, spewing out hot water. After Asta and Magna checking out the bath, Magna, still in his underwear, proceeded to show the where the girl rooms were, and explaining "If any of us go in, you'll be killed by trap magic.", which was absurd and made sense to Midoriya in the same time, looking around he could see some string attached to both sides of the corridor, and spikes hanging from the ceiling. After the girls' quarters, Magna showed them the bathroom, opening the door only to find Captain Yami inside, and after he threatened to kill them, they moved on. Now they were in the weirdest part of the house Midoriya had seen so far, which Magna called the "Beast room", when Midoriya asked why they had this room, Magna simply answered "This is Captain Yami's hobby" he then proceeded to appoint Asta as the caretaker of the animals. 'Probably not a good idea' Midoriya thought to himself. They then quickly to a dark library that didn't seem like it was used often. After that they head into a place Magna named the "Playroom", which didn't look much fun due to the fact it was filled with torture devices. After that, he and Bakugo ran after Asta and Magna, who were both laughing maniacally, before Magna suddenly halted, with Asta running into him.

Shortly after Midoriya and Bakugo caught up to them, seeing they were both looking at a girl. she has a slender build and pink eyes. She possesses long, silver-colored hair (which reminded Midoriya of Eri, with a tinge of pain in his heart), which was tied in pigtails, with her center bangs over her forehead. Additionally, she wears a pair of purple stud earrings with a cross shape, and a silver bracelet on her left wrist.

She wears a sleeveless, backless, short purple dress covered by a silver-colored blazer. The blazer has a backless design with sleeves attached at the back that extend slightly beyond her elbows with gold-colored cuffs. Additionally, it has frilly edges and a rounded tailcoat that extends down to her knees. Furthermore, the blazer extends up to her neck where it has frilly edges and is held together by a gold locket. She wears a brown leather belt that supports her pouch, which has a similar color and gold ornaments at its corners. The pouch hands on her right side, and contains her grimoire. She also wears a pair of silver-colored leg warmers with a gold-colored cuff at both ends and a pair of sandals, and to Midoriya's surprise she was sporting a Black Bulls' Robe. 'I wonder why haven't I seen her before with the other members? Is she the other new member Yami mentioned?' Midoriya's train of thought was cut by the others speaking.

"She's the other new recruit this year!" Magna said, confirming Midoriya's suspicion

Asta then walked up to her, introducing himself "Hey! I'm Asta, from Hage Village! Let's do our best together! It's nice to meet you!", offering a handshake, only to have his hand slapped away by the girl, who then said "I didn't give you permission to speak to me. I barely sense any mana from you, you lowly insect.".

'Why is she so rude?' Midoriya thought, stepping in ready to intervene in the exchange

"Insect!?" Asta asked, surprised. "Lowly?!" Magna asked with a confused face

They all got their answer when she said "My name is Noelle Silva, I belong to the royal family of this kingdom.

"What?! R-R-R-Royal family?!" Asta exclaimed

Asta then got on their floor, starting to bow before her, but Midoriya grabbed his shoulder, before saying "Asta you don't need to bow, maybe our status is different, but as magic knights it means nothing, and we should be equal colleagues", and then he saw Magna said in a determined face "That's right, Midoriya! You tell her! Status means nothing!".

In spite of this, the girl now known as Noelle said "Of course it does"

"How do you figure?!" Both Asta and Magna yelled, with Bakugo maintaining a stoic expression

"Are foolish peasants unable to understand this with words alone? I guess I'll have to show you the difference between our magical powers." She said, aiming her outstretched arm at Asta, and creating a sphere of glowing blue energy in front of it, with Asta and Magna taking a step back. 'this could go back, but, Mister Magna is our senior, I believe he'll handle it!'. The sphere then turned into a sphere made of water, with some miniature water tornados going into it. "Know your place" Noelle said, launching the water sphere at Asta, only for the sphere to abruptly change direction, hitting Bakugo instead. Noelle looked frustrated for a split second and then looked away from them.

'Oh no'

For a time that felt like forever, Bakugo just stood there, soaking wet, as if trying to comprehend what just happened. "What was that for?! Attacking your teammate?!" Magna asked Noelle. And then Bakugo spoke up "You little Bitch…" He said, little explosions going off in his palms. 'This time its 100% gonna end bad' Midoriya thought. "…You've got some nerve! What do you think you're doing?!" Bakugo said, giving her a killer look. "I'll kill you" was all he said before charging her, with Midoriya jumping in, needing to activate One for All in order to restrain him, and Noelle, to her credit, managed to keep her cool.

"Let me go! Deku you damn nerd! I'll kill her" He said, with Midoriya thinking 'this is why I can't let you go…'

Magna, remember Bakugo's explosive power from yesterday, said "Look what you've done, you brat!", only to get an answer that seemed to invigorate Bakugo even further, "he was just standing in the wrong spot." she said, pointing at Bakugo, "who gave you permission to stand there?". This comment pushed Bakugo over the edge, and so even though he was restrained, he fired two explosions, one hitting the wall next to him, demolishing it, and the other one hitting Magna.

"Why you little…" Magna started saying, before Noelle said "Don't speak to me so casually, I'm royalty", this comment tipped Magna over the edge too, and so he stopped filtering his mouth. "I don't care if you're royalty or the Silver Eagles' captain's little sister! I mean, the only person who'd accept a spoiled brat like you is Mister Yami! Be more thankful, you moron! I held back because you're a girl, but now I'm gonna have to initiate you, too, damn it!

Noelle looked obviously hurt at that, and so she responded by taking off her rob, throwing it at Asta's feet "Like I want to be in this pathetic squad." Was all she said, walking of and out of the base

"You little…" Magna started "Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

She then turned around, facing Magna "Who cares about the Black Bulls? I don't need that filthy thing "This is the absolute worst Magic Knight Squad, and it's not where royalty like myself belongs!"

'Wow, she's probably not used to handling other people, since she mentioned she was a royal. Thinking about it, I wonder why she ended up here, if she really is a royal?' Midoriya pondered

"You bastard! Apologize to the robe and Mister Yami! Apologize! Apologize! Apologize, damn it! You moron!" Magna yelled at Noelle, with Asta standing shocked next to him "The robe I worked so hard to get…She just…". Magna then yelled one final time "What the hell was her problem?!".

The next morning

Midoriya wandered out of the base, not being able to sleep and wanting to take the time to train, and so he went into the woods near the building before he started hearing a strange voice, only to see a shadow of something getting closer to him, he sleepily looked up, seeing a big sphere of water about to impact him.

The next thing he knew, he was on the floor, soaked in water 'what the hell was that?'. Well, at least he wasn't sleepy anymore.

He decided to investigate, arriving at a small clearing, with one tree in the middle of it. The clearing was currently full of smoking holes, the tree in the middle, which Midoriya could now see was marked, was untouched. He then noticed Noelle standing in the middle, launching attack after attack on the tree, and missing every one of them.

'So that's why she hit Bakugo yesterday! She's like a small kid who can't control her quirk!' Midoriya thought, reminded of his own time learning how to use a quirk. Then, out of nowhere, an orb head his way, only this time he managed to dodge it.

"Why" She started speaking "Why won't it go the way…" She fired another attack "I want it to?!". She was visibly tired after practicing for what Midoriya guessed was a long time. He was ready to step in and offer his advice, before remember he himself couldn't use magic. He then looked at her, noticing tears well up in the corner of her eye. 'I wonder what's wrong?' he said, before hearing a reinvigorated Noelle continue her attack on the poor tree, but it didn't matter, attack after attack, they all missed.

Midoriya was so concentrated thinking on a way to help, he didn't notice her spotting him, and was alerted when she said "Insect? H-How long have you…" Midoriya's blood went cold as he noticed her alarmed expression, before she got ready to attack him, creating another sphere of water, but this one was different, it was crackling with electricity, and soon started expending, swallowing her whole in the process.

'This is bad' Midoriya thought to himself 'Like a quirk going out of control, she could hurt herself!' Midoriya said, remember Tokoyami's Dark Shadow quirk and wished he had Mr. Aizawa's Erasure quirk. The sphere became giant by now, and Midoriya had to act fast, because Noelle didn't seem to be able to breathe in there 'She'll drown in her own magic!'. By now, Midoriya's hero instincts kicked in, as he activated his quirk One for All: Full Cowl 20%! Red lines appearing on his body, before giving their place for green lightning, that started dancing all over him.

Midoriya gave a mighty jump, smashing the ground underneath him to pieces, reaching withing a few meters of the sphere, Midoriya pointed his outstretched arm towards it, placing his thumb over his middle finger, with the rest pointing outwards. And then, he flicked his finger with the full might of One for All, yelling, Delaware Smash 100%! Unleashing a giant, powerful wind pressure shock wave, blowing away all the water, and letting Noelle breath again. Midoriya cried out because of the backlash of using One for All at 100%, but he didn't have time for that yet, because him and Noelle were falling and she looked to be unconscious, Midoriya stretched out his uninjured arm towards her, letting his black whip bridge the distance between them. 'Now we are just falling, how do I break our fall?!' Midoriya's brain kicked in, panicking, before he saw the other members on the ground, watching them. 'Good, Finral can just open a portal now! Thank goodness' Shortly after that, one of Finral's white, shimmering portals opened beneath them, swallowing them and ejecting them on the ground, with Noelle still ensnared in Black Whip's grip.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Finral!" Midoriya said, thankful to the spatial magic-user. He then proceeded to gently lay Noelle down on the ground, and looking at his bruised and broken middle finger. "What's wrong with your finger, Izuku?" Vanessa asked the One for All user, with him giving her the simple answer "It's broken. When I used too much power on my body or a limb, it tends to break" he finished, rubbing the back of his head.

"That's pretty weird. I've never heard of anyone that hurts themselves with their magic like this. But anyway, come here, I'll fix you up" she gestured Midoriya over.

"Hey, you" Asta called out to an unconscious Noelle, his voice waking her up. "You…have some insane magical powers! That's so awesome!"

Noelle looked up, surprised. "I don't have any magical powers, so I'm jealous, damn it!" he yelled "If you train so you can learn to control them, you'll be invincible, Noelle!". Hearing this, she got up to a sitting on her knees, blushing "Insec-Asta… ". Asta didn't wait for her response, continuing "I'm gonna keep doing my best so I won't lose, either!".

After Asta, Magna spoke up "Really? You just couldn't control your magical powers? You should've told me earlier, you royal failure.". Midoriya thought he was going to insult her, before he continued "We're the black Bulls. We're a whole group of failures! No one cares if you have you have a flaw or two, you idiot." He finished, as Vanessa floated a Magic Knight robe onto Noelle's shoulders. Only then Midoriya noticed Bakugo was absent, and asked Vanessa about his whereabouts, with her replying he "Didn't give a shit if Pigtails is having issues". Same old Bakugo. He then saw all the members asking Noelle question and telling her all kinds of things. Finral offered her a date, Vanessa offered her training and to show her "womanly techniques", and Charmy offered her cake, and Gauche offered to tell her about his sister and how much of an angel she is. 'Even though they are all outcasts and weirdos, that's what brings them together, like a family' Midoriya said, reminded of his classmates. He then noticed tears well up in the corner of Noelle's eyes at the show of compassion her teammates showed her.

Asta then Approached her, offering her his hand "Here. Let's do our best together.", Noelle took Asta's hand, and as he helped her up she said "It's a pleasure to work with you"

The next morning

Midoriya and Bakugo were sitting in the Cafeteria with all the other members, enjoying some breakfast. It was pretty silent in the cafeteria, before Asta spoke up "Noelle, why don't you help me with the cleaning and stuff?", 'it is a good question, because they make all other newbies do chores around the base', to which she answered "Cleaning? But I'm royalty.", which made Bakugo speak as well "No one cares if you're royalty, Pigtails! As long as you're a Newbie here, you'll need to clean as well!". Noelle, unsurprisingly, answered "I've never cleaned or done laundry in my life.", Bakugo responding with "Then start doing those things, you spoiled brat! At least something! Or I'll kill you". Noelle, in her normal blank expression didn't mind Bakugo's threat, and just answered "But I'm royalty."

"Why are you saying it all the time? It's not a viable excuse!" Asta said, with Noelle simply replying "Shut up, Insect".

"On a different topic now" Midoriya said "What do Magic Knights do anyway?". This seemed to surprise Magna "What? Are you seriously asking that? Well I guess it's understandable since you lost you memory", but then Asta asked the same question too, and so Magna grabbed him by the collar. "We protect the kingdom and handle security! It's the most manly job in the world, you dumbass! Why'd you decide to join when you knew nothing about it?". 'Magna sure is taking his job seriously'.

"They sure are lively first thing in the morning." Finral said, with Gordon just mumbling next to him.

"Damn it. Show 'em what Magic Knights do, you drunk witch" Magna said, referring to Vanessa, who Midoriya saw was already down one bottle of wine, "Well…we keep the citizens safe? Something like that." She said as she gulped down another glass. 'She has a serious problem'. She finished her glass and continued "you might even be able to get closer to some noble when you're assigned to protect them."

After her, Luck spoke up "It's a super-fun job where you get to fight with enemies all you want. If they're criminals, you can beat them up all you want and not get in trouble!" he said, throwing some mock punches at Asta's way.

After him, Gauche, the man with the sister complex, Midoriya remembered, spoke up "Most importantly, it's a wonderful job that my sister respects me for having. Isn't she an angel? I can buy her whatever she wants with my pay." He then got a nosebleed "But if you lay a finger on Marie, I'll kill you."

After Gauche's threat, Finral spoke up "It's the best job in the world, since I get to save girls and be popular." He gave them a wink. After which Gordon started mumbling something to himself, unintelligible to everyone else.

After all that, Midoriya was reminded of his teammates' weirdness, before hearing a shriek of terror, that shriek came from Charmy, who was now trembling. "I'm…out of food!" she cried out "I'm nowhere near full!", she then suddenly pulled out her grimoire, flipping through the pages of the now glowing grimoire, 'She's using her magic?'. Cotton Creation Magic: Sheep Cooks!

'Seriously?'

The three bipedal sheep she created quickly cooked some food for her, and as she picked up some food, she said "As long as you're a Magic Knight, you can eat plenty of food!"

Charmy then started eating, and a shadow appeared behind Asta and Noelle, the big shadow turned out to be Grey, which then pulled out his glowing blue grimoire, creating a puff of smoke and turning into Asta, and then spoke in his voice "Well, basically, it's a good job. I'm looking forward to working with you on a mission" he said, with his hand on Asta's shoulder, before turning back into that hug man…thing…and walking off, and Charmy offered Asta some food.

"Well? Do you understand what Magic Knights do now?" Magna asked

"Not at all!"

Then suddenly, the cafeteria door was kicked clean of off its hinges by Yami, who saw this way fit to enter the room, and so got everyone's attention "Let's go, Magna" he said simply, with Magna agreeing and walking towards him, simply explaining there was a mission. 'I wonder what happened, they both looked so serious' Midoriya thought to himself, with the question bugging him.

"A Magic Knight mission? C-Can I come with- "Asta started, before being shot down by Magna "No! we can't bring any kids along. This is a very important mission for adults. All right, we're off.". Yami warned them not to break anything while they were gone, and they were off.

Later that day

Bakugo's P.O.V

As much as he didn't want to admitted, Bakugo somehow kinda liked to have the nerd with him in this world, as a reminder of home, and of better times. They were now in the lounge, nibbling on some cupcakes the midget has given them, but Bakugo felt strange, he wanted battle, excitement, he wished for a mission to come along, so he'll have a chance to show the people here who is the strongest one around here. He hated the arrogance of the nobles in this world, but somehow, he saw himself in them, and he understood their view, but god damn it, he hated being on the receiving end.

Soon after that, The muscle-head entered the room, followed by the delinquent, the asshat and pigtails. The captain sat down on the couch, with the delinquent standing next to him, on one side of the circle table in the middle of the room, on the other side stood pigtails and the asshat, waiting attentively.

"Hi Deku, Katsuki" Asta said

"we're giving you your first mission." Magna told the two

"Hey! Delinquent!" Bakugo called out to Magna "What kind of mission are you talking about?"

He answered Bakugo by saying "these two will be hunting wild boars in Saussy village!". 'Oh, as if I care' Bakugo thought, with his excitement now extinguished. "How is that a mission worthy of a Magic knight!" he said, with both Yami and Magna shooting him a look.

"Wh-What in the world is this lame mission?" Noelle asked, with a confused face

"What are you calling lame?!" Magna yelled

"I can beat a wild boar with my bare hands!"

"Don't you dare underestimate wild boars!"

Magna proceeded to argue with them, saying wild boars are dangerous, and lecturing Asta about rushing into things. But then, Yami exhaled smoke out of his mouth and spoke "We both ended up losing to the mayor of Saussy Village.". "You two lost to some village's mayor? Seriously? "Bakugo asked, confused. Yami then said "It was cards. He basically stripped us of all we had" and Magna added "And six months' worth of pay, too!". "Then why are you bragging, moron!" Bakugo yelled at him, and Magna replied "shut up, newbie!". "Well, anyway, we ended up promising him we'd do anything if we lost, so he asked us to take care of some wild boars for him.", Magna again chimed in, adding "Apparently, a herd showed up near the village, and they're ruining the fields.

"Hi, question! That has nothing to do with us, right?" Asta asked, with Noelle joining him "Yeah! You two are the ones who lost! Then…". Suddenly Magna had an angry expression on his face "You idiots! You're asking Mister Yami to clean up his own mistakes?! We're the ones who clean up Mister Yami's mistakes". Yami then silently got up from the couch, exhaling some smoke, and then calmly asking the two recruits "Are you going to go, or are you going to die? Which will it be?". After this, they agreed to go.

"Hey, wait" Noelle said, receiving a look from Yami, "What about those two?" she said, pointing at Midoriya and him, "Aren't they recruits too? They should come too". "Oh, now you want equality, pigtails? That's what you get!" Bakugo said, and Yami spoke up "They'll have their own mission, they're coming with me."

After Noelle and Asta departed with Magna, Yami turned towards Bakugo and Midoriya, and Bakugo asked "you mentioned a mission, what is it?!" renewed excitement pumping through his veins.

"You'll see when we get there"

After that they went over to get the spatial magic-user, finding him in the cafeteria, Yami spoke to him "Hey, Finral, we need to get to Kikka, come with us" After hearing this, he left his conversation with a drunk Vanessa, and came with them, opening a portal, white and shimmering.

Exiting the portal, They found themselves in the middle of the city Yami called "Kikka", Katsuki recognizing it was the same city they went to for the Magic Knight exam, seeing the Colosseum in the distance. The city was bustling, with people going between all the small shops scattered around, Finral even buying the two young heroes a small fried snack, which Bakugo unwillingly took, "…Thanks". They soon reached one of the town squares, when Yami stopped, turning around to face the recruits. Pulling out a drawing from his pocket, which he showed to them.

"What the hell is this?" Bakugo asked, finishing his snack.

The drawing was of a woman, she seemed to be in her twenties, with long, light-brown hair tied in a ponytail. She had reddish eyes, and fair skin. She sported what seems to be her brigades' uniform, with so armor and a blue cape.

"Your mission" He answered "This is a rogue magic knight and a noble. One who had defected from the Blue rose knights Brigade. Since we are the worst brigade, I was tasked with bringing her in, and earlier in the casino I got some info she was around the city, but not for long." He puffed out some smoke "This is strictly a capture mission. Apprehend her and get bring her there" he said, pointing at a big castle in what Finral told them was the capital. "It's the Magic Knight center headquarters. I'll meet you there, don't keep me waiting" he said, as he gave them the drawing and headed to the capital with Finral.

Bakugo flashed Midoriya a sinister smile "Come on, Deku! We'll capture the traitor and show them what the strongest are like!". "R-R-Right…" Midoriya answered, as they headed off, deciding to go on the roofs for maximal view, and so they won't be easily spotted. "Deku" Bakugo called out to him "She probably ditched her uniform and robe." Midoriya nodded at him "and we'll need your black whip in order to apprehend her". Bakugo gritted his teeth, he had hoped for a fighting kind of mission, not a manhunt, but whatever. His body craved action. "Ummm…Kacchan" Midoriya called out to him, "What?" he asked, "You can't really use your quirk to its fullest in such a crowded street, so be carefu-" he was cut off by Bakugo who said "You don't need to tell me that!" he said, before jumping on to another roof.

Katsuki scanned the streets beneath them, looking for the face, which he memorized from the picture. 'Where is that defector? I wonder if she's even still hanging around here, I know I wouldn't'. and then suddenly, Bakugo noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Inside of a small shop labeled "Magic Items", he spotted her, instead of her uniform, she was wearing a brown clock, covering her entire body, but she didn't pull the hood over her head. Katsuki smiled as she got out of the shop, pulled the hood over her eyes and headed down the street. "Deku…Let's Go!".

Yami's P.O.V

"Are you sure it's ok to let these two handle it alone?" Finral asked him

Yami sighed, exhaling smoke, "Of course, are you doubting my judgement?". 'of course, I believe they can capture the target, after all, they are skill and trained, this will be a way to test them'.

When they finally arrive at the Magic Knight headquarters, he dismissed Finral, who went off to flirt with some girls, before continuing into the castle. Walking through the hallways, Yami was deep in thought, after all, he was going to get Julius' advice about his new interesting recruits. But his train of thought was interrupted when someone spoke too him "How are you, Yami?" He recognized the voice, turning around to see Fuegoleon, Captain of the Crimson Lion Kings standing behind him with one of his squad members, which he saw in the recent exam, the one with gold magic.

"I'm good. You?"

"I'm feeling fine, thank you"

Then the shrimp decided to speak up "U-Ummm… Captain Yami, I just wanted to know how your new recruits are doing, mainly the green-haired one.". he finished, rubbing the back of his head, relieved when Yami told him they were fine.

"well then, Jesse, why don't you go wait for me at the garden?" Fuegoleon said, with the shrimp saluting before going off. He then accompanied Yami on his way, "I saw you got the two weird kids in the exam. Do you recon it was a good investment?". "Weirdness isn't something new on my squad, and I don't recon anything." He said, giving Fuegoleon a look. "So why are you going to meet The Wizard King? I assume it's something important" Fuegoleon inquired, with Yami giving him the honest truth "I'm going to consult Julius on the weirdness of the both of them. It's not normal weirdness. They're a bit too sketchy".

"Who thought you'll be the one to say something like that"

"Shut up, hard nose"

As they both arrived at the Wizard King's office, they saw two people standing outside, one was Marx, head advisor to the Wizard King, and the other one was William vangeance, Captain of the golden dawn, the leading Magic knight squad, That was now departing, from the Headquarters greeting them shortly before continuing on his way. 'I wonder what he was doing here…' Yami thought, not paying much attention to him. As soon as Marx saw them, he walked towards them, informing them that the Wizard King was not present, and invited them to stay in his Office and wait for his return.

When they were alone, Fuegoleon finally asked "So, what kind of weirdness were you talking about?". Yami, looked at the trustworthy captain, exhaling some smoke before speaking "I'll tell you, and only you, hard nose. And I don't want anything to get out before everything is confirmed and decided." Fuegoleon solemnly nodded, and so Yami continued "Those two, where do I begin. First, their clothes and names are really out of place. Second, they both seemed to have lost their memories, and both say they waked up in this one village, where another one of my recruits have found them, and he said it's true. third, they seem to have gotten official training and have experience fighting, because they are really good with their power, even above some Magic Knights. Fourth one, they can use magic, even though they possess no mana, which is impossible, and they also don't have their grimoires. And also, I'm pretty sure one of them has two Magic types, the green-haired one, he seems to be able to use lightning magic, like in the exam, but also summon some… black vines…?"

Fuegoleon had tried processing all this information until he finally spoke up "I see your point, I'll keep it to myself until we know for sure. But there is a rumor that in the diamond kingdom they artificially give people two magic types, could it be they are from there?" Yami was a little annoyed, he didn't his brigade members to be seen like traitors. "Maybe, but until proven otherwise, they are Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom. In fact, I sent them to capture the rogue magic knight we were told about". "Really? You trust their abilities that muc- "Fuegoleon started before he was cut off by the faint sound of commotion going off. "I wonder what's that about he said", with Yami agreeing to go check it out.

Bakugo's P.O.V

"Hey! Bastard! Stop right there!" he called out to the woman as he jumped from the roof on to the street bellow, Midoriya following suit. "You're under arrest! Come with us peacefully and this won't have to get messy" Midoriya told her. "But please do, make my day!" Bakugo added, craving a battle.

She gave them a frightened look, her blood running cold. Turning around slowly, she spoke up "I don't trouble, but" She turned to them "Its either you catch me, or save the citizens!" she yelled as she pulled out her grimoire, flipping through glowing pages, she suddenly created a bunch of dagger looking sharp thorns made of water. She started running as the thorns were launched at the civilians eating in a restaurant next to the two heroes. Bakugo made his decision quickly "Deku! The citizens! I'll capture that Bitch!" he yelled, blasting off into the air, charging after her. Midoriya Activated his quirk One for All: Full Cowl 20%! He then lunged at the thorns, kicking them with the might of One for All. However, Bakugo had one target in front of him as he shouted at the citizens "Clear the street, shrimps!".

The girl saw he was catching up quickly and so decided to use her magic once again, Water Creation Magic: Swift Tide Walker, creating an constant tide beneath her feet, making her faster then before, and so Katsuki, seeing the citizens clearing up, and Midoriya catching up behind him, decided to go faster. He soon reached within a few meters of her, releasing an explosion at her back. She barely managed to turn around before his attack hit his mark. 'Yes!'. When the smoke cleared, Bakugo's instincts saved him as the desperate rogue launched another flurry of daggers at him. Bakugo's retaliation was swift, as he propelled himself close enough to her, before putting his two outstretched hands together, as if he was holding an imaginary ball. She was preparing to cast another spell, But unfortunately for her, Bakugo's palms glowed brightly, as he unleashed his attack, Zero Distance Stun Grenade!

When Midoriya caught up, the battle was over, with Bakugo standing over the girl's limp body, her clothes scorched and torn, her mouth drooling and her eyes white. "Good job Kacchan!" Midoriya exclaimed behind him. "take her and let's get going, Deku" he said, starting to walk towards the capital with Midoriya in tow, carrying the girl.

Bakugo smiled when people got back on the street, thanking them and praising their work.

Later in the Magic Knights headquarters

Bakugo and Midoriya finally arrived at the Capital's gate, and once the gatekeepers saw they were magic knights they let them through. They were now on there way through the capital's streets, getting stares from the citizens all around, with them whispering between each other.

"The Black Bulls, what are they doing carrying this girl around?"

"Are they peasants? They shouldn't even be here"

Bakugo shrugged of the comments, not paying much mind to the nobles. Arriving at the Magic Knights headquarters, the went through into they main complex, arriving in a court yard, Bakugo spotted two people, which Bakugo presumed were Magic Knights. The wore the robe of the silver eagles, one having blond hair in a ponytail and the other one being bold, with a rich blond beard.

"Hey! Peasants! What do you have over there?" Bakugo ignored them, but Midoriya decided to answer "We've got a rogue knight our Captain instructed us to capture"

"Oh, Really? Why don't you hand her over to us, and go back to the hole you crawled out off?"

"Why, so you could take the credit? You two weaklings" Bakugo replied, visibly angry, some people around the courtyard caught wind of this exchange, and turned to look.

"You have some nerve, you lowly peasant. You know, we have to punish peasants that don't know their place" the one with ponytail said.

"Kacchan, I don't think fighting here is a good Idea"

"Bring it, you spineless noble!" Katsuki yelled

This comment angered them both, as they pulled out their grimoire, the other people started to intervene, trying to calm both sides down. The yelling however attracted unwanted attention, as the captain of the Black Bulls and the Captain of The Crimson Lion Kings came out of the building and into the courtyard.

Yami's P.O.V

Yami and Fuegoleon exited the castle, seeing some magic knights and other mages argue, specifically, his tow recruits and two of Nozel's squad members. As soon as he saw this, he spread his aura and yelled "Stop Yelling!". Hearing this, everyone froze, stopping to argue and looking at him. He ordered two mages to carry they defector to the dungeon beneath the castle and then he turned his attention to his recruits.

"Good job, both of you" he said. Before behind him, Marx called over to him and Fuegoleon, and telling them the Wizard King came back, and so they both headed inside, Yami calling out to the recruits to follow them. They walked silently until they reached the Wizard King's office, when they did, Yami instructed the two recruits to wait outside with Marx, before entering with Fuegoleon into the office.

Inside, the Wizard King stood next to his desk, waiting for them. "Yami, Fuegoleon" Julius greeted them. "I was told by Marx that you two wanted to see me." Fuegoleon was the first one to speak "I wanted to inform you we had chased the invading diamond kingdom forces, and we captured some mages as well". Julius nodded and then looked over at Yami "What about you Yami?" he asked. "I, contrary to whatever you'd think, I came to consult you" this surprised Julius, this didn't seem like Yami "Two of my new recruits' background is a bit too troubling for my taste" he said, and then proceeded to Explain just what he explained to Fuegoleon earlier, making a thoughtful look to arise on Julius' face as he turned around to face the window.

"I see" Julius said "Maybe we can have Marx look at their memories? I bet this will clear up any suspicion."

"Hmmm…let's ask them, they're waiting outside" Yami said. He then opened the door, calling both boys and Marx inside.

"what with the old guy?" Bakugo asked, making Yami grab him by the head "This, is the leader of all Magic Knights, the Wizard King". He then saw Midoriya do a 90-degree bow "I-I'm honored to meet you, sir!". This made Julius chuckle a bit, and then he spoke "I heard quite a lot about you from Yami, and I want to try something, if you agree?"

"Yes, sir!"

They two boys then sat down of chairs, before Marx started explaining to them "Just close you're eyes and relax, ok? Don't fight it, you're in good company" he said before activating his spell, and soon they were both unconscious. A little after that, a white "screen" shimmered into existance above them.

After getting a briefing from Yami on what to ask, Marx started.

"Now, I'll ask you a couple questions, is that okay?" Marx asked the two boys , who answered unanimously "Yes"

"What are your names?"

"Katsuki Bakugo", "Midoriya Izuku"

"Do you come from the diamond kingdom?"

"No"

"Do you have a grimoire?"

"No"

"Do you possess magic?"

"No"

"Where your power comes from?"

"My quirk" they answered simultaneously

At that answer, everyone in the room were confused. With Fuegoleon speaking up "I wonder what's that about. Are you sure your magic is working correctly Marx?" to which he answered "Of course, they only tell me what they know!". "Keep questioning them then!" Yami said

"O-Of course"

"What is a quirk?"

"A quirk is a certain superhuman ability a human can have"

That confused everyone even more, "Maybe where they come from, Magic is called a "quirk"?" Julius suggested.

"What are your quirks?"

"Explosion", "One for All"

"This is getting weirder with every piece of the puzzle we have" Fuegoleon said "Explosion magic is a derivative of fire magic, but One for All? Maybe it's a reference to him having more than one magic type"

"Where were you trained?"

"U.A Highschool"

"wha- "Yami started, getting cut off by Marx

"Where is U.A Highschool located?"

"Japan"

"Yami, you come from there, right? Did you ever hear about a place like that? Or about quirks?" Julius asked, with Yami replying "of course not, but it could be in a remote part of Japan that I have never heard of, unlikely, but possible."

"What were you training there for?"

"To become heroes"

"Become heroes? That sounds…unlikely, but still, they ARE telling the truth, aren't they?" Fuegoleon asked Marx, who nodded back in return.

"Who trained you?"

"All Might", When they said this, the image of huge man appeared on the screen, he has a muscular and well-defined physique. He has short blond hair, swept backwards, with two distinct tufts that stick up above his head, leaning slightly to each side, which often casts a dark shadow over his face, hiding everything but his bright blue eyes. He wears a costume consisted of a skin-tight blue bodysuit decorated with a red symbol that somewhat resembles a "Y," designed with a white diamond at its center, with white lines connected to it that trace from his chest to his back shoulders, the lines trimmed with the aforementioned red symbol. The symbol appeared to have wings on the side that ran from the atop his torso before ending around his back, over which was a similar red and white design absent of the white diamond. Large white patches lined with red covered each side of his hips before ending at his lower thighs, and he wore a gold belt that had a silver buckle with red eyes. His forearm sleeves were colored in gold that each had white lines covered in blue accents over his wrists, and had spiked fins on the sides of his arms, his feet were covered in shin-length gold boots trimmed with white and red accents.

After that they said "Mr. Aizawa", and the image changed, showing a slender and tall pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and often half-opened black eyes. His facial hair unkempt and his eyes almost looking tired and flat. he sports a ragged black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that tuck into his boots. He also wears a belt and a weird looking scarf.

After that they said "Endeavor", the image now changed again, showing a tall, sturdily-built man with a very muscular physique. He has short crimson hair which he wears spiked up around his head, and sharp turquoise eyes. His beard and mustache appear to be made of fire. Actually, the fire burning on his face and next to his shoulders and back was unignorable. He wears a tight, navy turquoise body suit. He has sharp looking armored bracelets that completely incase his arms. On the back of his hands are grill handguards that have a set of holes, and his fingers are exposed from the base knuckles. His bodysuit has large stripes running across his torso, with the spaces in-between being completely engulfed in his flames. He also had shoulder pads and a belt, which appear to be made of the same material as his bracers. Yami told them the design on his belt is the Japanese writing for flames.

"what's with those weird people? This Mystery goes deeper then we thought" Yami said

"When did you get here?"

"about two weeks ago"

"How did you get here?"

This time, instead of an answer, the shimmering screen starting showing the event from both of their mind.

And then they both woke up
