Chapter 5: Invasion
Todoroki's P.O.V
It was late in the night, everyone asleep, besides Todoroki who was sitting in his room, thinking about that day, about two weeks ago.
'If only I was faster, just a few seconds faster…' he thought, reprimanding himself mentally. Everyone said it was really getting in the way, with him blanking out of nowhere, thinking about that day. "It's not your fault" they said, "We'll get them back soon" they said.
He was interrupted by a knock on his door. "Todoroki, can I come in?" He heard Mr. Aizawa's voice outside of his room. "I have good news" he said. Shoto's eyes widened, as he went quickly to open the door, his heart beating quickly.
Aizawa entered the room, Shoto closing the door behind him, waiting for him to speak. "The hero commission has allowed us to take action in the case of the missing students, and they say they know how to get them back. We want to send you to find them, and relay information to them, to reassure them until we can send a bigger search party. Are you up to the task, Todoroki?" his teacher didn't bother on unnecessary things, getting straight to the point.
Shoto stayed quiet for a bit, before looking up at Aizawa "I'll go." He said, a resolute look appearing on his face. 'This time, I won't be late!'.
Aizawa went downstairs to wait for him while he prepared. Putting on his hero costume, excluding his temperature regulating devices, since he didn't know how much time will he be gone. He then packed a kit bag with food and standard medical supplies, before going down to a waiting Aizawa, seeing Yaoyorozu waiting next to Aizawa, wearing her hero costume, with a black kitbag over her shoulder, and wearing the red cape of her winter hero suit.
After that, Aizawa led them out of the school grounds and to a black car parked outside the school. Getting in the back seats, they saw All might in the car as well, with Present Mic in the driver's seat, as Aizawa got in the front seat, they started driving off.
Arriving at a building of the Hero Commission, Shoto's heart wouldn't stop beating hard, some weird kind of excitement filling his body. Outside of the building, Shoto could see his father, Endeavor, the current no.1 hero, waiting for them with his arms crossed over his chest.
´Everyone is awfully silent' Shoto thought to himself
After walking for some time inside the building, they reached a room, the corridor leading to it isolated and full of security cameras, guarded by four people in uniform, one of them gesturing them into the room. Inside, they could see scientists working on computers and machinery, and in the center of the big room, there was a small one, made of transparent walls, and inside, sat the warp-villain who took his friends away.
"Welcome" said one of the scientists "I'm the head scientist in this project", he was a tall man, with brown hair, eyes and a beaver tail. He then led them to the transparent room, stopping at the door. "The plan is to send the young heroes, and then try to analyze the warp, and get the coordinates, the thing is, even though we have some heroes with warp quirks do tests here, this guy's quirk is a whole different type of warp quirk, we've never seen something like this, so it might take some time. We have guys coming over from I-island to help, we'll solve this as soon as we can! So, get in there when you're ready." He then walked over to one of the work station, everyone preparing for the sendoff.
"You two" Aizawa said "Come back to us, and take care of each other"
"Yeah, Don't get in too much trouble!" Present Mic told him
"Young Todoroki, Young Yaoyorozu, I know you'll come back safe, just, find those two for us" All might said
"Shoto" his father said, putting a hand over his shoulder "Please, if not for my sake, then for your mother's. come back to us safe and sound"
Shoto then put his own hand over Endeavor's "I'll come back safely, for everyone's sake" he then opened the door to the room, seeing the villain sit on a lone chair in the middle of the room.
"So" he spoke "Are you going to teleport us?"
"Y-Yes" he said "J-Just, I want you to know" Shoto gave him an emotionless look "I'm sorry" he said, surprising Shoto, before sending them away, surrounding them with blue mist, swallowing them whole.
And then everything went black.
A couple of hours later
"Todoroki" he heard a voice
"Todoroki, wake up" this time his shoulder was nudged a little.
"Todoroki!"
At this Shoto woke up, feeling some grass under his hands. He was cold, and felt like he was run over by a truck. He sat up, looking around, he saw he was in a field, next to a small village. He saw Yaoyorozu next to him, giving him a small smile. 'We should probably go over there and ask about them'.
"Where are we, Yaoyorozu?" he asked. "I don't know, but there is something you should see" she said, pointing towards a giant three eyed skull with horns.
'What the hell…where are we?'
They then decided to walk down to the village, needing directions, but as they approached, he saw everyone walk around in old-school clothes, like real, well, peasants. Knowing he would stick out in his current clothes, he asked Yaoyorozu to make his a cloak, while she just remained in her current clothing, covering herself with her red cape.
When they came into the village, they saw a nun go around with a couple of children in tow, and decided to approach her quickly, who knows, maybe Midoriya And Bakugo passed through here too?
"Excuse me, miss?" he called out to her, getting her attention, she was wearing a standard nun outfit, with blue eyes and a black beauty mark under her eye, she looked over to him "Can I help you, sir?" she asked.
"Yes, please. I'm looking for people, and wanted to ask if you've seen them, one is short with green hair, the other is taller with blond spiky hair and red eyes. Have you seen anyone like that?"
"Oh, yes. Are you their friends? Those two lost their memory, so I wondered if anyone will look for them." She answered.
'So, they are using memory loss as their backstory? Smart, this way you won't need to answer any questions.'. "Yes I am. Could you please tell me where they've gone from here?" he asked, hoping she knew something about their whereabouts.
"All I know is that they headed to the castle city Kikka to become magic knights". 'Magic Knights?!'. "And then went off to their brigade's base, so you could probably ask at the capital." She said, pointing towards a city on a mountain off in the distance, with castle visible at the very top.
"Thank you very much, miss" Yaoyorozu said, giving the nun a small bow, with Todoroki following suit.
When they walked away, he swore he heard one of the children ask "Sister Lily, are those royals?". 'Royals? I wonder what's that about.'.
He then set out on his way on a dirt road that lead into a forest. the nun telling him it leads to the city.
Deeper in the forest, Shoto felt safe enough to think. 'Magic Knights? I wonder, maybe these people confuse Quirks for Magic?'. But then he was reminded of the giant three-eyed skull. 'And maybe, it really is magic…'. He pondered, as he headed towards the castle city.
"Todoroki, do you think…there is really magic here?" Yaoyorozu asked him
He turned his head to look at her "I…Have no idea…"
One week later
Bakugo's P.O.V
While all the weirdos had their breakfast inside, Katsuki was outside, training. Muscle head taught him to sense Ki, but Katsuki didn't stay in one place. All the nerds talk about mana all the time. Mana that and Mana this. If it can help him improved, he will take his chances. So, instead of normal training, Bakugo was sitting at a clearing, the same one he trained to use Ki a week ago. He was meditating, trying to pick up on this Mana. He even read a couple of books from the base's dusty library, and still nothing. But he believed he could do it, he knew he could. But after about half an hour Katsuki just decided to go back to normal training, Blowing up explosions around the clearing.
That's how it went for the past week, with no results, but Bakugo didn't care, he'll produce results if he doesn't give up.
He came back to base covered in sweat, seeing the loud Asshat finally out of bed. Before the hungry dwarf noticed him "Oh, good morning, Katsuki! Want some food?"
"Bath" he answered, walking off to the showers
Sitting naked in the bath, Katsuki thought to himself 'What am I doing wrong? Maybe it doesn't come naturally to me because I wasn't born here?'.
He got out of the bath, drying himself and dressing up in his new clothes, black shirt and dark brown trousers, wearing his suit's boots and his suit's jacket, plus his gloves, and of course his Magic Knight robe. He came back to the cafeteria.
On his way he could hear Yami talking in the cafeteria, turning to him as he entered.
"Hey, Hothead, you got here at the best time, go with the shrimps to the capital" Yami said, pointing at Midoriya and the asshat.
"Huh?" Katsuki gave him a confused look
After Katsuki grabbed some food for himself, Finral took them to the capital via a portal. Getting there, Katsuki remembered going over there in his first mission as Magic Knight.
"Woah! This is awesome! It's this huge up close?" The asshat said, before seeing Deku and him wasn't surprised.
"What's up with you people?" he asked "Aren't you excited? We are going to the magic knight headquarters! We might even meet the Wizard King!" mentioning that, Asta had a dreamy look on his face.
Deku rubbed the back of his head, not speaking, as Katsuki broke the news to him "We already visited here" he said, and Midoriya added "And we kinda, already met the Wizard king" at that, Katsuki has a triumphant smile on his face.
"WHAT!" Asta shouted, eyes wide, grabbing Midoriya's collar he started shaking him around demanding answers about what he just said. Katsuki then looked up the street, seeing the Jerk face accompanied by two other people, walking towards the headquarters as well.
Hearing Asta shouting at Midoriya, they turned around to look at them, before waving at them. 'Give me a break'.
"Well, hello! If it isn't the members of the Golden dawn!" Asta said, waving to them with his starry-eyed look as he released Midoriya.
"Ah, it's been a week, Asta." Glasses said "Are you here to give a report, as well?" he walked up to Asta, putting a hand over his shoulder "Have your wounds completely healed?"'
"Yeah! My stomach still hurts a little, but I ate lots and slept lots, so I'm fine!" Asta replied to the man.
"What are you, a kid?" Jerk face asked. "Who are you calling a kid?! You're the same age as me!"
Deku then walked up, putting his hand over Asta's shoulder "What Asta means, is the he feels much better because of Mimosa's magic" he said, squeezing the ungrateful Asta's shoulder.
This made her suddenly run away. 'What exactly happened in the dungeon?'. Pigtails tried to tell Katsuki, he just didn't give a single shit.
"Why'd she run away?" Asta asked with a confused look.
"Maybe seeing that even Midoriya is taller than you startled her?" Yuno suggested, a hand on his chin. "What the hell Yuno, you jerk!" Asta said, trying to hit Yuno as he held him back by the face.
Katsuki then so Noelle go up to Mimosa, talking to her." What are they moaning about" Glasses asked, clearly confused. "Maybe they have a headache." Asta suggested.
They were about to keep going before Bakugo finally asked "Who the hell are these people?". Midoriya and Asta then introduced him to them, the girl was called Mimosa, and Glasses' name was Klaus.
When they went to the entrance of the headquarters, before suddenly stopping, seeing the figure standing in the entrance, the Wizard King. Everyone then bowed to him, except Katsuki, Yuno and Asta. "Huh? Oi, old guy" he said bluntly, making a smile appear on the man's face.
"You moron! How dare you speak like that to the Wizard King!" Realizing what he said, both Yuno and Asta bowed down with the rest of them, Katsuki still standing.
"Hello to you, too, Katsuki" The man answered, gesturing them to follow him into the headquarters.
They were now standing in one of the castle's towers, with the Wizard King looking at Jerk face's grimoire." Well done acquiring this. This magic was probably the most important relic in that dungeon."
"You can read that?" Jerk face asked, clearly surprised.
"Somewhat" the old guy answered.
"The most important relic! So cool!" Asta said
The old man's expression then changed, now a starry-eyed look that was completely different from his cool one earlier. "Hey, would you try using this magic?" he asked as he approached Yuno "Please!?"
"I'm sorry. I don't know how to use it" Yuno said, disappointing the old man.
"What? I see…Aw, that's too bad." The old man looked really heart broken, it actually made Katsuki feel for the guy. "All I can say is that this spell will grow with you and, one day, become an extraordinary power." He said, returning the grimoire.
"Wizard King! My grimoire has some weird scribbles in it, too!" Asta said, starry-eyed as he presented his grimoire to the Wizard King. "Please look at it!". "This is…" the old man started, "something I can't read at all. I've never even seen this writing in any documents". After hearing this, Asta took a new sword that Katsuki didn't see before out of the grimoire "This thing pops out of it! Take a look!" Asta said.
"Ah a second anti-magic sword!" The old man said, excited "A-Anti-magic…C-Can I touch that?". Hearing his request, Asta got on his knee, handing him the sword "Go right ahead!". "Thank…You?! It's so heavy! I'm amazed that you can actually swing this around" his expression switching for a second, before going back to normal "I see" he handed Asta the sword "Thank you. You can have this back now. This is beyond my abilities. It appears you're able to wield it because you have no magic."
"How did you know I don't have any magic, sir? And about my sword that cuts through magic?" Asta asked.
"That's a very good question" the Wizard King said "Well, anyway, you all did splendidly. Good work"
"U-U-Um, d-d-do you have a moment?" Asta asked the Wizard King
"What is it?"
"H-How… Do you become the Wizard King?" both Asshat and Jerk face asked'
This made the old man burst into a short laugh "I see. So, you both want to become the Wizard King. Any Magic Knight should have that aspiration."
"You two! It's rude to ask the Wizard King that directly." Glasses said "Listen. The Wizard King must be proud and have the trust of the people- " he was then cut off by Bakugo who said "It's not it. The only way to become no.1, is to be the strongest"
The Wizard King smiled at Katsuki's answer "Yes. You're right. Trust won't protect anyone, and the trust of the people comes with merit. There is only one thing people want from the Wizard King…Merit that proves they are the best. Gain merit. Continuously gaining merit is everything. Anyone who can't do that can never stand at the top." After that, he burst into another short laugh. "Now then. We're actually holding a decoration ceremony for the Magic Knights who've been awarded an outstanding number of stars today."
"Deco…?" Asta asked, confused
"Decoration ceremony. It's a ceremony where we award those who have done exceptionally well and honor them. I would love all of you to join us. Because your friend is a part of the ceremony after all" the old man said
"Who?" Bakugo asked
"You. Did Yami not tell you?" The Wizard King asked with a confused look.
"What!? That Muscle head, I'll kill him!"
They walked through a corridor which was lined up with lines of people in blue and grey robes. Reaching the room at the end of the hall, the Wizard Paused and turned to look at them as he opened the door "Can you give me better results than them?"
Waiting inside, Bakugo could see a bunch of people. Some of them were Captains of some squads, he recognized them from the exam. Next to each captain stood one or more people, 'Probably squad members who got chosen for the ceremony'. They all gave them judgmental looks, mostly to Bakugo, as the others stayed behind while the old man gestured him to follow. He also noticed the blue-haired he met last time he was here. "Hey, Mushroom-head" he said, earning more looks, but he didn't get. The mushroom looked annoyed for a bit, before calming down "It's Marx…"
"He's a bit late, but he's here for the ceremony" The Wizard King informed Marx, earning Bakugo even more looks, 'If looks could kill…'. The old man then gestured Katsuki to stand of the far-right side beside the others.
"Now then…let us begin the decoration ceremony." The Wizard King announced.
"With seven stars earned, Leopold Vermillion of the Crimson Lion Kings, I grant you the title of intermediate Magic Knight, Second Class." He said. The kid with the orange spiky hair and braid approached him. With the old guy handing him a medal. "You use the same flame magic as your older brother, the Captain of the Crimson Lion Kings. Your power is overwhelming. Make sure you don't go overboard." The Wizard King gave him a smile. 'So that's the Hard nose's brother?'.
"Evil needs no mercy" he responded
Next in line was the girl with the tan skin and blue cape. "With six stars earned, Sol Marron of the Blue Rose Knights, I grant you the title of Intermediate Magic Knight, Third Class. You're as dynamic as the men, and your creative earth magic is amazing. But you might be a bit too much of a free spirit."
"The only one who can tie me down is my sis, the captain" she answered. 'Sis, really? They look nothing alike.'.
"With six stars earned, Solid Silva of the Silver Eagles, I grant you the title of intermediate Magic Knight, Third Class." This time it was the young guy with silver hair and weird haircut. 'Wait, Silva? Is he related to Pigtails?'. "The maneuverability of your magic is amazing, but I think you'd be even more amazing if you stopped showing off your powers and cooperated with others."
"I'll keep that in mind, sir." He replied
Next up was the girl with silver hair. 'Are all those people related to Pigtails? And what's up with their smug faces? I'd like to wipe it off if I ever get the chance'. "With nine stars earned, Nebra Silva of the Silver Eagles, I grant you the title of Senior Magic Knight, Fifth Class. The skillful illusions you create with your mist magic are splendid. Just make sure you don't play with the enemy more than necessary, or you might get bitten."
"I thank you for the warning." She said with her smug, punchable face.
Next was a fat guy from the Golden Dawn, with a weird haircut, very weird. "With seven stars earned Hamon Caseus of the Golden Dawn, I grant you the title of intermediate Magic Knight, Second Class. Just by looking at you, the enemy would never expect your glass magic, and I bet they're completely boggled"
"I thank you, Your Majesty" he said with a wink.
"With eight stars earned, Shiren Tium of the Golden Dawn," The Wizard King said as a tall man with a braid came up "I grant you the title of Intermediate Magic Knight, First Class. Unlike your eloquent magic you're a very quiet fellow"
"Understood" he said.'
"With eleven stars earned Alecdora Sandler of the Golden Dawn," This time, a guy with green hair came up "I grant you the title of Senior Magic Knight, Second Class. You amaze me with your diligence and flexible magic. You can probably relax a little more once in a while."
"I am honored, Your Majesty" he said
Now it was going to be Katsuki's turn, and his heart was going to explode. Even if they weren't looking at him anymore, he could feel them. Katsuki stuck to his promise to elevate his brigade above the rest, and so everyday he would make Finral take him here, and he asked Mushroom-head for mission, waiting for them every day. He worked his ass off, he deserves it, despite what those stuck up nobles thought.
"With eight stars earned Katsuki Bakugo of the Black Bulls," as soon as he said this unspoken word, Bakugo could feel their eyes on his back, almost making a vein pop in his head. "I grant you the title of Intermediate Magic Knight, First Class. Your dedication and battle prowess are a cut above the rest, and your Explosion power makes battlefields shake. Keep on working hard." He finished, handing him a medal.
"Thanks, Old Man" Now he could feel their looks trying to pierce him through the chest. That comment made the Wizard King chuckle. "Fight on, Katsuki Bakugo.". he then made his way back to his place.
"The Golden Dawn has earned a total of 71 stars. They are the clear leaders" The Wizard King said "I hope the rest of the squads do their best not to fall behind. Well done, all if you." Spreading his arms "Now then, there's a simple reception set up for you, so go enjoy yourselves. Oh, I almost forgot. I've invited some special guests today. Make sure you get to know each other very well." He said, before mushroom head came up to whisper something in his ear, and so he spoke again "Something came up, so I have to excuse myself, but have fun!"
"Leaving already?" Bakugo asked in a mocking tone, with the Wizard King nodding back before disappearing.
They then walked to another part of the castle, where there was a big room, with tables stacked with food scattered throughout.
Katsuki picked up some bread, munching on it as he approached the nerd and company. Noticing that a lot of the stares have moved from him onto his teammates, and he didn't like that either. 'Only I tell those dumbasses how stupid they are, I swear if one of them opens their mouth…´.
"Why is the Wizard King entertaining us like this" Glasses asked, clearly noticing everyone staring at them. "Not the mention the Wizard King went off somewhere…". Bakugo could notice Pigtails' uneasiness. 'Why is she uneasy? Aren't those people related to her? She, out of everyone here should be the least uneasy. Those two nobles too, this should be right up their alley…'.
"Ummm…M-Midoriya, do you care if I join you?" The golden dawn girl asked Deku. "Sure, come over here Mimosa" he replied.
"The heck is this?!"He heard the loud asshat say as he ate in a barbaric manner.
"How can you be so bold? You're amazing, Asta." Glasses asked and he was right. 'Why is that asshat acting like that, do these stares mean nothing to him?'. "No. he's just unrefined." Jerk face answered.
Bakugo saw the other Magic Knights whispering to each other. 'At least they have some decency'. And so, he decided to edge closer to them, under the guise of picking some food.
"Vulgar peasants" he heard the green haired dude ,Alecdora, say. ´What…What did he just call me?'. Katsuki now was barely restraining his need to release explosions at the man. "Why did the Wizard King invite such lowborn scum?"
"I can't sense any magic from any of them" The girl with silver hair joined him, Nebra, was her name. "Them capturing the dungeon must've been sheer luck." She said with a smug look. That comment angered Katsuki even further, thin smoke rising from his gloves now. Maybe he didn't care, but he did know that the asshat worked his ass off, and he'll recognize his will to improve, even if he didn't have power.
"The way he eats is disgusting". Said the fat Golden Dawn member, Hamon, he remembered from the ceremony, he then chuckled to himself.
"It's unnatural for people like them to be here. Filthy rats." The arrogant Silver Eagles man said, Solid was his name. By now, a vein was about to burst in Katsuki's head.
"You also have a peasant in your squad." Leopold, The Crimson Lion Kings' boy told Alecdora "The peasant who's forgotten his place since everyone fawns over him because of the four-leaf grimoire. I could've handled capturing that dungeon even better."
"That's quite confident, crimson brat." Alecdora responded "It's not like we expect anything from that peasant. We are the ones who embody Lord Vangeance and the Golden Dawn's ideals.". 'What, so now they don't even recognize his strength just because he was born a peasant?'.
"W-With all due respect…" Glasses spoke up, before being cut off by Alecdora. "That goes for you as well, Klaus. Aren't you ashamed, being here with your lack of skill?". 'What the hell is this guy's problem? Even though they're his own teammates?'. "And Mimosa! I heard that you were wounded early on in the dungeon and left the front line. To think that you are royalty of the Vermillion line is laughable."
This prompted Deku to speak up "E-Excuse me, sir, they are your own squad members, are they not? Y-You really shouldn't be shaming them like that." The man shot him a look, silencing him due to the nerd's shy nature.
"I think you clearly don't know your place, peasant. Someone who has no magic or grimoire isn't even aloud to talk to us." He said. Now Katsuki's blood was boiling, small explosions going off in his palms. 'Keep your cool, the Old man wouldn't like it if you messed up his ball room.'.
"Now, now. The most useless fool here…" Solid said in a mocking tone, going towards pigtails "is you. Wouldn't you agree, Noelle?" He said, pouring his beverage over her head. Now. Verbally abusing his comrades was already too much for Katsuki, but seeing this kind of shaming, whatever little sanity Bakugo had disappeared.
"How could you…" Glasses said, clearly surprised by the man's action.
"you can't even control your magic. You're such an embarrassment." Solid said, with Nebra coming to stand beside him, joining him "You're basically been exiled from the Silva family". 'So, they are related. They are family and yet they treat her like that?'. "I'm surprised you had the nerve to return to the Noble realm." She said.
"You got a big head from one achievement." The Silver Eagles Captain spoke "Did you come here intending to bring shame upon the Silva name? you do not belong here. Begone, failure that killed our mother.". this insult seemed to stab deep, as Noelle tried to get away from her siblings. 'Mother? They are siblings? How can they be siblings and act like that? And they are supposed to be the heroes of this country? Don't make me laugh'.
As Noelle got away from her siblings, she ran into Katsuki, with him blocking her way. "Don't. People like that feed off you acting like a weakling. So, grow a spine! If you lose your spirit" he gave a quick look at Deku's way "You'll lose sight of your goal.". he said, with hair looking out at his murderous look. As he left her, seeing the rest walk up to her, he walked towards the two smug looking siblings. "So, for now," he approached them "Apologize" he looked at them with what was now a murderous face "Or I'll kill you".
The room went silent, only Alecdora breaking the silence, activating a spell that trapped Bakugo inside swirling sand, with him seeing Deku hold down Asta a split second before he was completely surrounded. "That's enough, you lowlife thug!" he said, his glowing grimoire opened before him. "You magicless, grimoire-less, lowlife scum like you shouldn't even be allowed to talk! I don't know what you did to get on the Wizard King's good side, but your I'll punish you for not knowing your place!".
But of course, he knew it was coming, his Ki training wasn't for nothing, but now, he would give them some of their own medicine.
To everyone's surprise, Bakugo effortlessly destroyed the construct with an explosion, his right hand raised up with his smoking palm open. "Let me answer your question, Mr. Self-Importance" he said with a mocking tone "Dedication and hard work, you scum! That will be how I'll become the strongest.". He then turned to the arrogant siblings. "And you, I hope your rat-sized brains understood what I said. Apologize, OR die, which will it be?".
Katsuki's statement made everyone speechless. As they just stared at him. "You…insolent scum…who do you think you are?" solid said. his statement didn't seem to have the wanted effect, as both Solid and Nebra started chuckling. "Don't make us laugh!" they both said, their grimoires open and glowing before them. Water Binding Magic: Sea Serpent's Coils! Solid activated his spell, creating a big serpent made of water that shot out from behind him, lashing at Bakugo. "DIEEE" he yelled blowing an explosion in its direction, disintegrating it.
"W-What?" Solid said, clearly surprised.
His sister didn't hesitate, activating her own spell. Mist Binding Magic: Mist Spider's Threads. A cloud of mist shot out in his direction, completely surrounding him.
"Don't make me laugh" he yelled, his rage still holding up. Swiping his hand, he released a chain of explosions, easily scattering the Mist.
Sand Creation Magic: Sand-Armored Guard!
A knight made out of sand materialized around him, trapping him in his arms.
"Bakugo!" Deku called out "I-I think that's enough, sir"
"Keep your mouth shut" Alecdora responded, clearly annoyed by Bakugo's behavior
"I won't" Deku answered, jumping forward in an inhuman speed, bringing an axe kick down on the sand knight, breaking it apart.
"Damn nerd! Why'd you do that?! I had this" Katsuki said, turning around to look at Deku.
"S-Sorry K-Kacchan…"
"You're too soft Golden Dawn. Anyone that self-confident needs to be taught a lesson" Solid said, preparing to cast another spell, creating what looked like a bullet made out of water in the air next to him. "So that they can never talk back again."
Bakugo didn't give him time, and arrogance, as Katsuki learned firsthand, will be your downfall. He launched himself forward with his explosions, being only a meter away from Solid, he put both of his hands together, creating a sphere of intense light in between them, before it exploded, creating blinding everyone who looked at it. Zero Distance Stun Grenade!
Everyone covered their eyes except for Solid, who got hit head-on, collapsing on one of the food tables, his eyes white and his mouth drooling, "Serves you right, scum!". To Bakugo's surprise, Solid still managed to launch his projectile, as it headed towards glasses, but Asta blocked it easily with his sword.
"You lowly peasant!" Nebra cried out, clearly annoyed, before her Captain stepped up to her, clearly intimidating all other rookies, but Bakugo wasn't fazed, he wasn't fazed by the Yami, so he would be scared by a weird braided dude. 'Does he have a servant do that braid for him? It's really weird.'.
"Nebra, don't be so quick to use your magic on a mere peasant." He calmly said.
"B-But" she said.
"Silence. Do you plan to shame the Silva family?" He then turned to Katsuki "A peasant that foolishly tried to defy royalty…How shall I punish you?"
Bakugo, with his undying pride, replied, "Bring it on, you creepy braided dude". He then heard Deku from behind him "K-Kacchan, M-Maybe it's not a goo- "he said before getting cut off by Bakugo "Shut up, I'll kill you".
"that's enough" Katsuki heard someone say from behind the Silver Eagles' Captain. With both him and Nozel turning to look at Fuegoleon, the Captain of the Crimson Lion Kings. "You're getting so worked up over a little boy. Are you forgetting the Wizard King invited them himself? It would be rude to harm his guests. You should be ashamed of yourself, Silvas."
Bakugo noticed someone staring at him, seeing the crimson brat, Leopold, before he burst into laughter. "You're quite amusing!".
"Huh?" Bakugo said, confused
"All right, rejoice! I, Leopold Vermillion, declare you as my rival!"
"Huh? If you're my rival, prepare to be crushed!" Bakugo said, and he could practically field Deku cringing behind him.
"What was your name? Katsuko?"
"Katsuki Bakugo. you'll get that wrong, I'll kill you."
This prompted more laughter from him, as he put his hand over Bakugo's shoulder "I'll remember then. That's a great name, my rival!"
"But don't feel to special. Both the damn nerd and Icy hot are my rivals." Katsuki said, trying to mock hi. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to work, as Leopold just continued tapping on his shoulder "No worries! One can never have too many rivals!". 'What is up with this guy?'.
Look aside, he saw Nebra call over Mimosa to help her brother recover. "I think you overdid it with this Solid Guy" Midoriya said, coming up to him when Mimosa went to help the arrogant prick.
"Hey, you" Leopold said "Are you his rival too?" he asked.
"Yes, and so is that kid over there" he pointed at Asta, who was now helping Noelle dry her hair.
"Ha, I get it. So that means you're all my rivals too!" Overhearing this, Asta had a dumbfounded look on his face. "Huh?"
"A royal acknowledging a peasant as his rival?" Nozel asked
"Lord Julius allowed the boy to be here. In fact, he outranks you little brother, so I see no problem" Fuegoleon retorted "He may be a peasant, but doesn't he deserve a little credit?"
"I never thought I'd hear such nonsense from a royal's mouth" Silva answered "It appears that the Vermillion family has gone soft. You're a disgrace to us all."
"What?" Fuegoleon asked
"How am I, an eagle that soars the sky, supposed to give any credit to an insect that crawls on the ground." He said, the room starting to shake, the glass windows cracking. Most of the people in the room seemed to stare at something, but he could sense or see anything. 'Probably mana again' Katsuki thought, frustrated.
Suddenly, the doors of the ball room opened up, with a man in a blue robe standing in the entrance. "Th-There's an emergency!"
"What's wrong?" Fuegoleon inquired, the room stopping to shake.
"Th-the capital. The capital is under attack!" The man said, surprising everyone in the room.
"The Royal Capital is under attack?!" Fuegoleon said in surprise.
Stone Creation Magic: Stone Model of the World. The braided Golden Dawn guy, shiren, activated a spell. The spell created a model of the Royal Capital out of stone, emulating it one for one, even the fire who burned in the streets and the screaming people.
The captains started talking attack plans, but Katsuki and Deku didn't care. "If there are people in trouble" Deku said running towards a window with Bakugo in tow "A hero has to save them!" he said a they both jumped through the window.
"Katsuki! Midoriya!" Their friends cried out to them
Todoroki's P.O.V
As they finally managed to get to the Castle City after a week of traveling, he had hoped for peace and quite, but what he found was a city on fire, with people running away. And as a hero, when people run one way, Todoroki had to run in the opposite direction.
"Come on, Yaoyorozu! Let's hurry!" he told Yaoyorozu, as they both ran towards the city.
Midoriya's P.O.V
Ok, so maybe it was a bad idea to jump out of a window. Midoriya will admit that. As they fell towards the ground in free fall, Midoriya could see the city on fire, and hear the people screaming bellow them. 'This is our time. Those people need a hero! If I can't protect them, I'll never be able to call myself All might's successor!'.
Katsuki landed with his explosions, and Midoriya Bounced of a wall with one for all, rolling on the ground for a little bit before getting up. "Ummmm…Kacchan, where do we go?"
"Where the screaming is loudest, you damn Deku!" he said, blasting off in the direction of people screaming. 'Of course. A little rash, but better than nothing.'.
Going through the streets, Midoriya finally saw who was the enemy. The streets were plagued by what seemed like zombies. "Kacchan…Are these what I think they are?" he asked, with Kacchan nodding back, a smile appearing on his face. "If they are already dead, we can kill them!" he yelled as he started bombing the streets, blowing the zombies apart. Finishing with the zombies on that street, they moved to another street with people screaming in it. And so on and so on.
It went on until Midoriya heard what sounded like a little girl cry out in fear "Kacchan!" he called over the attention of Bakugo "I'm going!" he said, seeing Bakugo nod, he took of in the direction of the sound. Arriving at the place, he saw piles of dead zombies as Asta fought to protect a little girl in a yellow dress. He saw him pointing his sword at another man. The man is of average height with long, messy, light purple hair and a blue eye. He wears dark red bandages that covers his forehead and left eye with a light green eye ornament on top of the latter. Similar bandages are also tightly wrapped around his neck with the tattered end dangles in front of him. He has a scar on his right cheek where Asta's cut him,[4] and his left eye appears bloodshot. His attire consists of a dark red tank top with a right sleeve and trousers of similar color. In addition, he also wears an elbow sleeve and a glove on his left arm. Moreover, he wears a big belt around his waist with a strap attached to it on both sides. He also wears a dark-colored bracelet on his right arm and two light-colored bracelets on his left arm. He wears a pair of boots with two light-colored stripes on each of them. Lastly, he wears a tattered cape that covers his body. The cape is held together by a button on his right shoulder.
"Why are you attacking innocent people you jerk! I'm going to defeat you, no matter what!" Asta yelled at him, charging him with a war cry, before a bunch of purple bullets shot out, one of them scratching Asta's cheek.
And then Midoriya saw what launched them, as some kind of mummy stepped out of a black portal in the ground. "Number Four, Jimmy…" the man said.
"Innocent? Everyone who doesn't understand my magic… is a sinner!" the man, clearly deranged, yelled at Asta.
'What are those disgusting things!? He is probably the one making them' Midoriya thought in disgust.
"That brat's you prey this time, Jimmy!" the deranged man told the mummy
"Not on my watch!" Midoriya said as he appeared beside the mummy, delivering a kick to it's side the sent it flying.
"Oh! Deku, we have to get rid of that bastard!" Asta said, pointing at the man
"Yeah, I figured" Midoriya responded with a smile.
"What are you blabbering about?" the man asked "Jimmy got you with one of his specially made curse shells. It's loaded with curse power. Even scratched won't stop bleeding, you're done for! Jimmy!" he called out to the mummy, with it returning to stand In front of him, his right arm now dangling beside him, broken from Midoriya's attack.
Seeing the mummy prepare to attack, Asta switched to his smaller sword, preparing to counter his bullets. "You sure are a pain for a brat that doesn't have any magic. But Jimmy's still got lots of curse power left" the man then gave them a sinister smile "Oh, before we deal with you two… Jimmy, finish off that eyesore of a brat back there first!" he yelled.
Midoriya had a horrified expression on his face as the cold realization settled in, as he turned his head to look at the small girl, the image of Eri flashing in his head. 'Asta won't make it in time'. "Watch out!" he cried out to the girl as he jumped at her direction, grabbing her and carrying her out of harm's way. But he then felt the pain, a bullet managed to him in the left side of his stomach.
"Deku!"
"Uh-oh. There's no point in getting hurt just to protect others. Is there?" the man said
"Mister…" the girl said, tears in her eyes, looking up at him as he put his hand on her head "It's ok now…"
"What do you gain from protecting a little brat like that, you hypocritical loser?!"
"Because I am here!" he said, turning his head to look at the man, a resolute look on his face.
"We'll protect her, even if we don't gain anything from it!" Asta told the man
Midoriya ten turned around "Who are you aiming at?" he asked, disappearing as a blur of motion, appearing right before the mummy. Shoot Style – St. Louis Smash! He delivered a roundhouse kick to the mummy's midsection, her going through it like a hot knife through butter.
"Jimmy!" the man cried out "How dare you! Ignore him! Kill the girl!" to Midoriya shock the upper half of Jimmy shot out more curse bullets, Midoriya getting away to not get hit.
"The weak will always die weak!"
Asta did his best protecting the girl, but two curse bullets slipped through his guard, flying towards the girl. However, they were stopped by a water barrier that suddenly appeared. Looking behind the bubble, he saw Noelle with her open grimoire and hair hands pointed forward
"What are you doing, Stupidsta? I can't bear to just sit and watch this, I'll help you, so you'd better be grateful!"
"Got it!" Asta answered, raising his sword, ready to continue battling. "There's no way he can stop you if you can move freely. Go!" Noelle said
"Looks like you're back to normal." Asta said
"I was never feeling down!" Noelle said, blushing
"you stupid brats!" the deranged man cried out, summoning more zombies around Asta, only to have them burned to cinders, as Leopold released spiraling flames at them. "I shall assist you, rivals!" he said, a smile on his face "Get that bastard good! Show me you true power!"
Hearing that, Asta thanked him, and charged forward, spinning himself with his swords to block the mummy attack, before reaching the mummy, striking its upper body into the air "Not yet! I'm not done yet!" he said, striking it multiple times before launching it backwards with the last striking, killing it.
"you don't fight like any other mage! You're just too interesting!" Leopold said before laughing.
"Huh? Don't let that ridiculous attack get to you, Jimmy! Hey, Jimmy!" the man called out to the now dead mummy.
"stop blabbering." Asta said "Come at me yourself!"
"Wha? Don't get cocky, you little brat!" he shouted, as electricity started buzzing around him, and purple light shone from him "Come forth, Alfred." He said, as another mummy rose from the ground, surrounded by electricity. "Number Two, Alfred. Go Alfred!" he commanded it, before summoning another beast, a hulking mummy with muscles bulging out of its bandages. "Number six, Henry! A master of reinforcement spells while he was still alive, now he would keep you insolent scum busy!" the beast went after Midoriya, giving no consideration for anyone else.
´those were real people once, how can he treat them like that!?' Midoriya thought, angry 'From what I understood earlier, they only have a limited amount of power, so I'll just wear it out!' he launched a fish into its face, hearing something crack and tear, the sound almost making him throw up. He then saw in the corner of his eye the man summoned another corpse, this time a slimy, bag wearing one, who went on to attack Leopold and Noelle. 'I'll finish here and go help them'.
He went on to strike the beast multiple times, with its reinforcement spells keeping it together, it reminded Midoriya of the Nomu, and so Midoriya would beat it the same way, where out it defenses. Cocking his arm, he prepared to launching a final strike at the monster. Detroit Smash! He launched a mighty fist at the chest of the mummy, launching in into the building behind it, demolishing it. The corpse didn't get up. Seeing he was finished, Midoriya went back to help the others seeing that Fuegoleon had already burned this "Alfred" mummy to a crisp.
He saw Fuegoleon put his hands over Asta's shoulder "I apologize for horning in on your fight." He said with a calm tone "But I thought it would be a shame to let a man like you die here." He turned his head to look at Asta "Forgive me. You fought well for a peasant with no magical powers. I hate to admit this, but it looks like Yami's foresight was better than mine.". he then left Asta, walking up to the villain. "Asta, wasn't it? I heard from Yami you were always saying you were going to become the Wizard King."
"Huh?! Become the Wizard King?!" the villain asked "There's no way a stupid brat like you who's way weaker than me could become that!"
"Then, I guess you're my rival, too." Fuegoleon said, looking back at Asta, before continuing to go towards the villain.
"So you're gonna fight me? Finally, someone worth fighting…" the deranged man said, laughing to himself "Captain of the Crimson Lion Kings, Fuegoleon vermillion."
Fuegoleon turned his head towards Asta again "Asta, Leave the rest to me!" he said, enveloping himself in flames.
Meanwhile Fuegoleon fought the villain, Midoriya decided to go help Leopold and Noelle, who both didn't do to well against their opponent. Seeing him whip his muddy whips towards Noelle, and she couldn't dodge the two of them, "Noelle!" both Leopold and Midoriya cried out to her. And just then, the ice came.
Todoroki's P.O.V
Todoroki couldn't believe his eyes when he reached the burning city. The streets were filled with the undead roaming around, attacking the innocent people. He could see Momo put her hand on her mouth in disgust, almost throwing up.
"Yaoyorozu, Let's go!" he said, as Yaoyorozu grew a pole axe out of her arm instead of her usual Bō, as she charged in to help the citizens, with him covering a lot of ground, wiping out hordes with his flames.
"I guess you're better for this job then me, Todoroki" Yaoyorozu said, as a couple of zombies approached her from the back, but she just grew some blades out of her back, tearing the back of her costume, impaling the zombies.
"You're not too bad yourself" he replied, with her nodding at his answer.
They went through the streets helping people and wiping out hordes of zombies, hearing explosions at distance, and seeing lightning gather over some building in the distance.
"Todoroki, I think something big is going on over there." Yaoyorozu pointed out to him. He gave a look and nodded. "After you". They them started heading in that direction, running as they had more explosions in the distance. 'Could…Could it be? Have we…found them? Finally?'.
They reached their destination only after the lightning stopped, and they couldn't believe what they were seeing. It was a big space surrounded by building on all sides, and inside people were fighting, there was fire on some places, and piles of dead zombies and burned zombies everywhere. On one side, a short guy with swords and ash-blond hair and a tall guy with orange hair and a cape faced a ragged looking man, probably the villain, surrounded by a spherical shield of some kind, and next to him a robed figure floating in the air. In the other side, some figure wearing bags was fighting a boy with orange hair and a girl with silver hair. And then he saw him, Midoriya rushing towards the girl as the bag-wearing figure shot out to slimy looking whips at her. It was as if Shoto awoke from a dream when he heard Midoriya cry out "Noelle!" and his instincts knew what to do, unleashing an ice barrage at the blink of an eye, encasing the two whips and the bag wearing figure in ice.
Midoriya looked at his direction, his face lighting up and so was Shoto, a smile appearing on his face as he and Yaoyorozu ran towards him, both crying out "Midoriya!". Reaching him, Shoto stopped, putting both his hands on Midoriya's shoulders, as if checking if he's real. "Midoriya…" he said, releasing him, Momo giving him a small hug. "Midoriya! We missed you so much! she said. He then pulled them both into an embrace. Whispering I their ears "We can talk later, for now, act as if you lost your memories" he then released them, giving them both a huge smile.
"Izuku" the silver girl said as she reached them. "You know them?" she asked. Eyeing them both, before seeing Yaoyorozu's hero suit. She then blushed, looking away.
"That attack wasn't half bad!" the boy with the orange hair said before laughing.
"Yes, Noelle, I know them somewhat"
"Midoriya, where's Bakugo?" Todoroki asked
"He's over there where the explosions are" he said towards where the sound of explosions was coming from "I know it's a bit much, but could you go there and see how he's handling? Then come back here with him."
Todoroki didn't want to leave, and right after he found Midoriya too. But still, Bakugo was here too, and the reunion won't be complete without him. He nodded "Yaoyorozu, stay with him, make sure he doesn't disappear until I'm back" he said, waving to Midoriya as he ran off in the direction from which the explosion sounds came from.
Midoriya's P.O.V
He couldn't believe his eyes, they came, finally, and what he could believe even more, was that he just sent his friend away after not seeing him for three weeks. What kind of friend is he? But it wasn't time for chit chat now, as he glanced towards Asta and Fuegoleon, he saw the villains puppet already incinerated, as expected of a captain.
When Fuegoleon and Asta turned around, surprised expressions appeared on their faces as they saw the big ice construct where the enemy used to be. "Wh-What?" Fuegoleon asked, clearly surprised, as he saw Yaoyomomo his surprised went even further. "Girl, is that your power" she gave him a small smile and shook her head "No, a friend of mine" she answered.
"Whoa, who are you? I've never seen you before" Asta said, confused as well.
"She's a friend of mine" Midoriya said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Whoa! Seriously Midoriya? Maybe she remembers where you came from" Asta said, excited.
"I don't" she replied shortly, playing the part. This made another expression replace Fuegoleon's surprise, probably suspicion.
"I-Impossible! My number One was defeated so easily…" the villain spoke behind them "Damn it! Damn it!"
"Rades, wasn't it" Fuegoleon said, turning to face Rades "Even if you possess extraordinary abilites and polish to them to their fullest, without a righteous spirit, your deeds are nothing but violence! No one will acknowledge something like that."
Flame-Binding Magic: Leo Palma! Fuegoleon cast a spell, making hands made out of fire wrap around the villain, rendering him immobile, making the man drop his grimoire beside him. "L-Let go of me! I'm still-" he said struggling, as Fuegoleon approached him "Damn it! Damn it! At this rate, I…"
"There are many questions I'd like to ask you." Fuegoleon said, making the man stop struggling "But before that, I will be confiscating your grimoire."
The man looked horrified "Don't!" he yelled, as one of the fire hands picked up his grimoire, handing it over to Fuegoleon. "Don't touch my grimoire!" he shouted in desperation.
"What is this grimoire?" Fuegoleon asked, a surprised expression on his face. As he opened the grimoire, Midoriya could see why. It had only one page, unlike the thick grimoires Midoriya had seen up until now. "There's only one page?"
"Don't! Don't look at it!" Rades cried out, now sweating profusely "Damn it!". 'Huh. Is he embarrassed about his small grimoire?'. "Give it back! Don't you dare look down on me!"
"Who's gonna look down on you?" Asta asked, approaching the man slowly "Couldn't you think of any other way to get people to acknowledge your power?"
"Midoriya, I'm really confused. What is this robe you're wearing?" Yaoyorozu said standing next to him. "Don't worry, I promise I'll tell you both everything later" he said "But for now, let's just make sure this is over. And find a safe place to talk."
"You have amazing magic, and you were strong enough to claw your way up…It's such a waste!" Asta said, sweating and tired from the battle. Noelle then walked up to him, offering him help to walk.
"What you lacked to overcome adversity…" Fuegoleon said, a stoic expression on his face "Was a righteous heart. Pay for your crimes."
"I-It's not impossible…I…" the villain suddenly mumbled. 'What?'
"What the…" Fuegoleon said
"The Magic Knights' mana…" Noelle joined
"I can't feel it anymore." Leopold finished
"This is unprecedented spatial magic. Was there another spellcaster?" Fuegoleon asked the villain who was now smiling. 'This is bad. If they were able to get rid of most of the Magic Knights, that's probably when they'll execute whatever plan they have.'.
"What do they mean by mana, Midoriya? Is something wrong?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"Yes. That means our other fighters are gone, and we are the only ones left. I hope they didn't get Bakugo and Todoroki…" Midoriya answered.
"You're working with at least one other." Fuegoleon said, the situation getting weirder every second "A spatial magic user must have infiltrated the Royal Capital. Where are they?". No answer. "Have they already fled?". No answer "No matter where you might've sent the rest of the Magic Knights, you don't have enough power to take over the Royal Capital. I can't imagine that this was just to go after the king. You've made it clear that your motive is revenge, but what are you and the others after overall?". This time, he got an answer, in the form of laughter as Rades started chuckling to himself. "Out true motive…is you Fuegoleon Vermillion!"
"What? What do you-" he started, before spatial magic appeared beneath his feet, creating a portal. "This is spatial magic. Very well. Nothing ventured, nothing gained." He said, before being swallowed whole by the magic, disappearing.
"Fuegoleon!" Everyone cried out.
"You bastard! What have you done with my brother?!" Leopold asked, grabbing the villain by the collar, only for the villain to start laughing.
"Leopold! He's not the spatial magic user" Noelle said "That spell pinpointed him, so there's no way the spellcaster cast it from far away. Where could day be?"
They then saw Yaoyorozu approach one of the zombie piles. "I am sure I heard a voice from hear, not what you'd expect from dead people", Asta, picking up on what she said, ran her direction, the villain's face going dark. Asta swung his sword, flinging some corpses into the air, but one of them got out a grimoire and disappeared in spatial magic.
"He was hiding among the corpses?!" Noelle said, surprised
"I'm impressed you found me." The spatial magic user said, appearing on top of a building "I figured I'd be found if I used magic to transform, So I went to trouble of making this filthy disguise. What are you, animals?" he said, ripping of his mask, revealing a man with very pale skin and weird tattoos across his face. "But it appears that it's over now." He said, opening another portal, dropping Fuegoleon's limp body out of it, his right arm missing.
Midoriya was horrified at the sight, everyone was. No one said a word as they all looked at the body in disbelief. Noelle breaking the silence with a horrified scream, Asta joining her. "Fuegoleon!" Leopold cried out, horrified from the sight. Both Midoriya and Yaoyorozu ran up to the injured man, kneeling beside him she started producing bandages from her body in order to stop the bleeding. "Midoriya!" she looked up at the villain "I'll take care of him, capture the villain!". Midoriya didn't need to be told twice, as he activated his quirk, jumping up to the villain.
"H-His arm…" Noelle mumbled, still in disbelief of what she was saying
"Fuegoleon…" Leopold said, sweating. "Fuegoleon…Fuegoleon!" his voiced quivered "That's impossible…There's no way Fuegoleon would lose. My brother wouldn't…"
"Listen, you two" Yaoyorozu called out to them "On the battlefield, there is no time to stand and mumble to yourself. You want to save him? Then help me!". Noelle snapped out of it, kneeling beside Yaoyorozu to help.
"Impossible…That's impossible…" Leopold still stood there, mumbling
Midoriya then heard Noelle say "Oh, no…His grimoire is breaking apart!". At that, his mind went blank. 'Does that…Does that mean…'. He looked at the pale villain, landing on the roof. Hearing a crash, Midoriya turned around, seeing Leopold impacted a wall, creating a crater. "Leopold! Yaoyorozu, watch out!" she simply gave the villain a glance "We don't have time for this!" a blade erupting out of shoulder, piercing the villain through the stomach, making him gasp. "I laced it with a synthetic numbing poison" she said, as the villain began stumbling, before falling to the floor, unconscious. Seeing this, Midoriya turned back to the spatial magic user.
"Rades!" the villain called out to his unconscious friend. He then tried opening a portal underneath him, to get him to safety, but before he could, Asta ran up to him, throwing his sword into the portal, disabling it, and then charging at him. Midoriya wasn't going to give him time, lunging at him with a kick, as the villain teleported onto another building top. 'It won't work. I can't touch him.'. seeing his opportunity, Asta started punching the villain around. As Midoriya went for the spatial mage.
"Valtos! Do something!" Rades called out to his friend.
"If I could, I would've by now" he said, teleporting away from Midoriya again "Those kids are more troublesome than I'd imagined. Looks like we're going to have to take care of the anti-magic kid first.". He said, gathering magic in one hand, opening a portal with other. 'What is he doing?' Midoriya looked at the ground, seeing a portal behind Asta. "Asta, Look out!" Noelle cried out to him.
However, the spatial mage, Valtos, didn't manage to attack, being interrupted by a spiraling flame, as Leopold joined the fray. As they both approached Rades, it seemed to Midoriya as if the spatial mage was planning something. It looked as if he opened a portal, but Midoriya couldn't spot it.
"D-Damn you all! Get away! Stay back!" Rades said, being driven into a corner by the two Magic Knights, his back against the wall.
"Pathetic." A male voice said "We received orders from the Master to come here, and look at you…" he continued, as everyone looked around, trying to find him "You're struggling against this lot. How Pathetic." He said, before misty wind suddenly appeared, flowing around and incasing all his friends on the ground. "Everyone, look out!" Midoriya called out to them. They will probably be attacked, and then Midoriya would have to either help or continue chasing Valtos. 'Asta can't fight anymore, if he does, he'll die for sure from blood loss.'.
Out of the wind, five robe-wearing people appeared, all dressed the same.
"No one asked for your help!" Rades said, ungrateful for being saved.
"Aw, you should be thanking us." One of them, a girl, said. "If we hadn't arrived, you definitely would've been captured and dissected alive.". 'I don't think they would have done that…'. "And if you're gonna be dissected, I want to be the one to do it.".
"Shut up! Anyway, it looks like the tables have turned!" Rades said, only for Asta to start chuckling, before slashing himself with his own swords. 'Is he…Is he trying to get rid of the curse like that!?'. "Now I can keep fighting!" he said, a resolute smile on his face. "Please watch me, sir!"
"Wow, he's fun. Can I dissect him later?" the girl asked
"Quiet" the man told her
"Boo. You're such a spoilsport." She said, as she and all the other robe-wearing mages readied their magic to attack.
"All I've ever faced since I was born…was adversity." Asta said "No matter how many come at me, no matter what happens, I'll blast them all away!" he yelled "All right! Come at me!". 'This is bad, he and Leopold are in no shape to fight, and Yaoyorozu and Noelle are tending to Fuegoleon. Think, Deku, Think!'.
As they all fired, Asta simply spun in place, sword in hand, nullifying all attacks sent his way.
"You need to learn when to give up" Rades said, staying on the sidelines.
Midoriya decided enough was enough, even if Asta removed the curse power, he was still bleeding, and lost to much blood already. "Hey," Midoriya called out from the building top "You forgot about me!" he said as he launched himself from the building side, destroying it with sheer force as he jumped towards the wind magic user.
"What's with this speed!?" he said as he flew into the sky, but Midoriya didn't let him get away, pointing his left arm at the man, black mist appeared from it, as his Blackwhip shot out, grabbing the man. "What the-" was all he managed to say before Midoriya pulled him in, punching him in the gut and sending him tumbling and gasping for air.
Flame Magic: Exploding Flames! Leopold casted his own spell, scattering explosive fireballs in the direction of the mages. "You think I'm going to let you people throw your weight around after what you did to my brother?!" he yelled, unleashing more attacks. "Let us join forces, my rivals!".
"Sure! Go right ahead!"
They were both yelling as they threw themselves at the enemy. ´They're feeling deperate, and are fighting, like well, animals.'.
"What the hell are you doing?! Hurry up and kill them!" Rades yelled at the mages
"We know" answered one of them
"They aren't our targets. But we'll kill them now!" Said the flame wind magic user, getting up from the floor.
"Who are you going to kill?" Midoriya asked, increasing his power. ´When they'll concentrate their attacks, I'll hit them with everything I have.'. Noelle made a shield over the injured duo. "Don't think that you can kill my friends so easily!" she said. ´Now is the time!'. Midoriya charged his opponents striking down two of them with one kick, before needing to get away from the fire magic user, as he launched a wall of fire his way.
"Wow…you're fast! Is that Lightning magic that you use? But then what was that black stuff?" the glasses-wearing girl asked with enthusiasm. "And where is your grimoire?"
He was about to go back for another round, but he saw one of them pull out his grimoire. "I'll use my grimoire against you. I wouldn't want to be rude." He said, his grimoire glowing intensely. Tree Creation Magic: Magic-Draining Roots! He cast his spell, making tree roots grow out of the ground, nullifying Noelle's spell as they sucked its magic.
As soon as the barrier went down, the two charged their enemies again. "Your fighting instincts are admirable." The wind magic user said, his grimoire out as he prepared to cast a spell, Wind Creation Magic: Tornado Needles! 'That's bad, I hope I can get there in time' Midoriya thought, sprinting towards his allies, and carrying them out of harm's way, although Asta wasn't as lucky, as he was pierced by some of the magic needles.
Midoriya ran away with both of them in hand, placing down next to Noelle. "Put up your shield!" he said as he prepared to engage his enemies again.
"R-Right" Noelle said, putting up another shield.
"You never learn, do you?" said the tree magic user, preparing to cast his spell again. This time however, Midoriya knew he was going to do that, and he charged him first, knocking into him shoulder-first. The man gasped as he was thrown into a wall. But then suddenly, a big silvery sphere landed in the middle of the courtyard. As it evaporated, Midoriya could see the magic knights inside. 'Thank goodness'.
"How dare you send us that far away?" Asked Alecdora "We really didn't want to, but we all worked together to get back. I suppose you could call it super compound magic."
"Joining forces once in a while isn't so bad." Hamon said.
"Well, I guess men aren't completely useless." Sol said, scratching her neck. "I'll acknowledge their abilities. Nothing more." Said the Captain of the blue rose Knights.
"I'm never working with them again." Solid muttered, with his sister adding "We really don't play well with others."
"But our nine Magic Knights squads exist solely to protect the peace of the Clover Kingdom!" Said the Captain of Silver Eagles.
Midoriya saw Mimosa run up to the injured Fuegoleon.
And then his heart skipped a bit when he heard a familiar voice say "Midoriya", looking back, he saw Todoroki and Bakugo coming towards them as well.
"It'll cost us if we keep fighting. Let's retreat." Valtos said, appearing behind the wind magic user, that by now collected his injured comrades with wind currents.
"Don't be in such a hurry." Nozel said stoically, his grimoire open and glowing before him. Mercury Magic: Rain of Silver! The spell made silver drops of mercury fall on top on the mages.
The glasses-wearing girl responded with her own magic. Gel Magic: Sticky Salamander! This made a huge, purple salamander made out of gel stand above the mages, protecting them.
"My magic will just pierce through magic like that." Nozel said confidently.
The girl then proceeded to pull out a giant syringe filled with some dark red liquid, and then injected the salamander with it. Dark Magic Item: Special Properties Plus Alpha…absorbed! This made the salamander absorb the droplets at if it was nothing.
Midoriya's blood cold as he saw the salamander snatched Asta, and they were starting to teleport. Midoriya turned towards his friends "Todoroki!" he cried out to him, and hearing this, he knew exactly what to do. The ground around him was covered in frost as a tremendous amount of ice erupted from the ground, quickly approach the mages. Heaven Piercing Ice Wall!
"What the-" some of the magic knights exclaimed as they saw the glacier, who was twice as tall as the surrounding building. But Midoriya was only interested in his friend, as he walked towards the ice, he could spot a little blob in the ice, frozen over. 'Todoroki's control is amazing!'. Todoroki came with him to melt the ice and free Asta when Midoriya heard. "Some captain he is. How pathetic." The arrogant Solid said, chuckling. And it made Midoriya's blood boil. "The Vermillions sure aren't what they used to be. Makes me embarrassed to be a royal.".
"Hey" Midoriya called out to him, walking over to him "How could say that, while you were away from the battle?". It wasn't normal for Midoriya's rare temper to show, but now, he was furious with the man. He put up with his behavior earlier in the reception, but now, he wasn't going to let him run his mouth like that.
"Who do you think you are talking to-" he was cut off when Midoriya punched him in the gut, Making him double over and throw out instantly.
"How dare you!" Nebra said, only to be silence by her brother. "He's right. We were not present at the fight, we are even less than he is. Strengthen the defenses so that there won't be further damage."
"R-Right" she mumbled, tending to her brother.
"They've spread around magic that blocks transmission spells, and the chain of command is in chaos." Alecdora said "Because of that, reinforcement from outside the Noble Realm couldn't arrive. We can't let our guard down yet." He then proceeded to assign jobs to the magic knights, but Midoriya didn't care anymore, he wanted to talk to his friends. "Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, Bakugo" he called them over "Come here" he said, pointing at a corner of the courtyard, so they could talk.
He told them of everything he and Bakugo had been through, about magic and mana, and about the magic knights and the Wizard King. "I think that this all you need to know. But remember, if anyone asks where we are from, we lost our memory." He said. "Now it's our turn to talk" Todoroki said. "We've been sent here in order to see that you're all right, and tell you that the others are coming. Once they figure out how to travel here safely, they'll send a bigger search party of pro heroes. But Midoriya, Bakugo" a little smile appeared on his face "We missed you" Yaoyorozu finished his sentence.
