Chapter 6: Opposites

Bakugo's P.O.V

---

Bakugo couldn't believe it, they've finally come for them. 'Took their sweet time, too'. Bakugo was both angry and somewhat happy. He was happy they sent Icy hot and Rich girl to find them, but he was angry that they were going to be stuck here for longer than he thought.

They were now gathered with the rest of the Magic Knights, after Deku took both his friends aside to explain some things to them. He also said he wanted to introduce them to his new friend in this place, but all Katsuki could think about was 'How do we explain two new people who lost their memory, don't have their grimoires, and are magicless, but still use powers? It was suspicious enough with only me and the nerd, but now this?'. And it's not like Katsuki didn't notice the small things, like how Mushroom-head, The Wizard King and even Muscle-head seemed to have some hidden sympathy for him. He hated that. 'Maybe they're on to us? I would if I were them. They probably suspect we are spies, we are too suspicious, for sure. And the mushroom-head's spell, the one he cast on me and the nerd, he said it was trying to locate our grimoires, but maybe it had some hidden agenda?'. For now, no one paid too much attention to Icy hot and Rich girl, but Katsuki was sure that once this crisis is over, they would be all over them.

"Fuegoleon…Leopold…" he heard Mimosa said, her hands clasped. They were all outside of the medical ward where both the Asta, Leopold and Fuegoleon were.

"I hope they wake up soon," Sol said. They were all in disbelief of what happened to the Crimson Lion Kings' Captain. It puzzled Katsuki too, Deku said he had been sent somewhere else and attacked, but still, isn't he supposed to be strong. "Indeed" her captain added.

Katsuki then noticed the insolent Golden dawn members come towards them. "We've strengthened the magic barrier and repaired the communication spells. We've gathered more Magic Knights and are having them scout every inch of the town. To ensure no enemies remain." Alecdora said.

"I'm sure the Royal Capital is fine now." Added Hamon

Suddenly everyone besides the young heroes seemed to sense something, before the Wizard King suddenly appeared out of nowhere. "Hey, everyone. Great work."

"Th-The Wizard King?". They all said, surprised. "Is that the Wizard King you were talking about?" Rich girl asked Deku in a whisper.

"Is that…an enemy?" asked Sol.

The captains proceeded to inform the Wizard King on what was going on while he was gone from the capital. "I see… Despite how strong Fuegoleon is, we don't know when he'll wake up. That was a miscalculation on my part." He said, understanding all that has happened.

"No, this was due to our inexperience. We've confirmed that the pendant Fuegoleon was wearing is missing." The Blue Rose Knights' Captain said.

"Pendant?" The old guy asked. "From what they said, they appear to be a terrorist group with a grudge against the Kingdom. But it doesn't seem to be that simple." He then seemed to be in deep thought, before carrying on "We'll get the details from our captives later. In any case, people look to the Magic Knights for one thing…Peace in the Clover Kingdom. In order to preserve that, we'll keep fighting with everything we have."

"If you'll excuse me." The captain of the Silver Eagles spoke up as he and his two flunkies left

'We're better off without those pricks anyway'

"Has the enemy awakened not a sleeping lion, but a sleeping hawk?" said the Wizard King, a slight smile on his face.

"I hope I never feel this useless again." Said Hamon

"Right" Sol said, agreeing with him.

"We shall become stronger" Said the Captain of the Blue Rose Knights.

"Indeed"

"I'm the one who'll become the strongest!" Bakugo said, walking off "Watch me".

Julius' P.O.V

They were standing in the Interrogation Room that was a part of the underground dungeon beneath the Magic Knight Headquarters. He and the other advisors looked on as Marx used his Magic to try and extract information from their two captives. But Julius mind was wondering elsewhere 'Not only did we have the strange kids' mystery on our hands, but now those terrorists as well. And now it has gotten even more complicated, with the arrival of two new kids, that helped deal with the undead invasion of the capital. According to the captains that were there, one of the kids was able to create a giant glacier in an instant, and without a grimoire, too.'.

"It's no use." Julius' thoughts were interrupted when Marx spoke up "There's some kind of protection on them, and I can't search for information.". This was troubling, they needed to uncover this terrorist organization quickly, they couldn't afford more attacks like that, or the people's trust will start to waver.

"Even if there wasn't, we'd never talk." On of the captives, the crazy old hag, spoke "Our master is the light in the darkness! He's our god!". It was unsettling. 'Such a trust between terrorists, and they called him their god, too.'

"He's the only one who hasn't abandoned is" the other captive said "We will never betray him".

He and Marx left the dungeon, walking through the headquarters. "Apparently, their master has some absolute unifying force and fearsome magical power." Marx said, contemplating what they heard in the interrogation room "I'm assuming the one who defeated Captain Fuegoleon is also their master."

"Indeed." He answered. "When he wakes up, we may learn something. Let us wait for the Lion King to awaken".

"We need a new a captain to replace Fuegoleon while he's comatose. Should I inform his Vice-Captain?" Marx asked.

"It won't be necessary, I have someone else in mind"

"and about the new kids? We've been keeping an eye on them here, but it seems like they are getting impatient. We've done some basic questioning, and we know that they don't have their grimoires, no magic, and no memory." Marx stopped for a second before continuing "and we know their powers".

Excitement filled Julius, he knew that they boy could make ice, but he didn't know what the girl's power was. "OH! What are there powers?" Marx sighed before answering "They boy can appearntly use both ice and fire, and the girl seems to be able to produce all kinds of things out of her skin." Julius was pumped, he never seen a power quite like this. "also, both other boys decided to stay here as well with the them. It seems like they know each other."

"Yes, and I hoped they might know something. But this memory lose is normal for them. Maybe when they come here from wherever they lose it." Julius said.

"Or maybe, there is always the possibility of them lying. They could even be sleeper spies, ones that are conditioned with fake memories to evade magics like mine. There was a rumor that the Diamond Kingdom was trying to make spies like that. Scary." Marx said, surprising Julius.

"Scary indeed. We might need to keep a closer eye on them if what you say is true." Julius said. "Yes. But on this topic, some of the captains do question our trust of the kids, and we can't leave them here forever. I want them to join the Brigades. Yami has already agreed to take custody of them, but the others have doubts, and I have made an arrangement with them."

"What do you mean to do?" Marx asked "The next Magic Knights Exam is next year".

"You're right, that's why I decide to test them on the next Captains' Meeting."

"I see"

"Now if you'll excuse me, I want to go and see those powers for myself." Julius said, again excited for unknown powers.

He reached one of their rooms. He didn't know which one, but he walked up to the door and knocked. Silence. He knocked again, silence again. 'Weird. Is something wrong?'. He knocked again, this time adding "I'm coming in!". this time, the door opened, and he saw the girl inside. Her face lit up when she saw him "W-Wizard King. Sorry I didn't answer, I was trying to concentrate." She gave him a small smile. "Sorry to intrude, I just came by to see how where you doing. What were you concentrating on?" Julius asked.

"I heard some mages talk about mana, and so I did some reading in your library. I hoped that if I concentrated, I could maybe try and feel it, but no advancements so far." She said.

"I see." Julius said "To most of us, it comes naturally, so I can't really give you any helpful advice, but I can say that, mana supposedly run through all living thing, so maybe meditation is the best direction. But maybe trying to practice magic will bring you closer to your goal." He said.

"Thank you, sir" she answered.

"Where are my manners? What is your name?"

"Momo Yaoyorozu"

"So, Yaoyorozu, I have a request for you" he couldn't help the starry-eyed look on his face "Can you please show me your power?"

"Yes, it's no hassle" she said as she stretched out her hand forward, as it lit up with light. "take this" she said, handing him the matryoshka doll that appeared in her hand. He took it out of her hand. "Wouldn't it disappear after some time?" he asked, curious about the doll. "No, it won't disappear." She assured him. "Well, I better leave you to your meditation." He said as he began to leave.

Yami's P.O.V

---

"Welcome back, Magna, Luck!" Asta said, greeting his squadmates.

"Man, I'm so exhausted from my mission." Magna said. "So tired" Luck added. "However! We got recognized for our deeds and got a star!".

"Our combo attack, the Crackling Magna Typhoon, was amazing, wasn't it?" Luck asked, getting close to Magna's face. "We're never doing that move again!" Magna replied "I'm gonna keep on showing the other Black Bulls how it's done! Asta, my time has arrived! Make sure you keep up!"

"Hey, don't get ahead of yourself!" Bakugo said "As it currently stands, I outrank all of you scum!"

"What!? Who do you think are you talking too?!"

"Ah, yes" Asta said "they promoted Katsuki and me. I'm a Third-Class Junior Magic Knight and Katsuki is a First-Class Intermediate Magic Knight."

"Huh? Wait, what are junior and intermediate Magic Knights?" Magna asked, confused.

"No idea" Luck answered.

"Have you guys been Magic Knights all this time without knowing what that is?" Yami asked, getting up and exhaling some smoke "It's a Magic Knights rank. And since you guys haven't changed since you all joined, you're still fifth-class Magic Knights. That means Bakugo is currently the highest rank in this building except for me."

"What?!" they both exclaimed

"Ha! Bow down to your superior!" Bakugo said triumphantly

"And by the way, Charmy became a First-Class Junior Magic Knight". Yami Added.

"What?!" they both yelled in shock

"Make sure you follow me, you inferiors!" she said.

"Apparently, they were impressed that she captured one of the rebels." Yami said. "Looks to me like she was just trying to beat her up, though." He then turned to Asta "Anyway, well done, kid."

"But Captain Fuegoleon…" Asta said, suddenly looking sadder.

"Huh? Fuegoleon?" Yami asked. He heard what happened to the king of the hard noses, but he was sure he pull through. "Who do you think you're worrying about, punk? That hot-blooded king of seriousness won't die that easily. I bet he'll come back even stronger."

"Of course!" Asta said, a determined look appearing on his face "All right! I'm going to train even harder and get stronger, too!"

"No, you're gonna rest" Yami said. He got a report from the medical ward on what exactly went on with Asta, and he wasn't gonna let him run freely again after that battle. "You're too injured. You're going to die. Are you stupid?"

"Yeah! You need to take a break!" Noelle said

"You too, Noelle?"

"How stupid are you?"

"A break? You're getting time off, Asta?" Finral said, giving him a thumbs up "Then let's head to a mixer!" he gave Asta a wink.

"A- m-mixer?!"

"you get to work." Yami told him.

"I'll set everything up!" Finral said.

"I just told you to get to work."

"Things are getting busy!"

"I'll kill you"

One day later

"All right, all eyes up here." Yami said to his currently kneeling subordinates "We just got paid, so no work today." It was met with cheers from everyone.

"All right! I'm gonna train real hard!" Asta said as he started doing push-ups.

"Thanks, Mr. Yami!" Magna exclaimed "Awesome decision, sir"

"Let's drink! The night's still young." Vanessa called out to him, taking yet another swig of wine.

"Time for second breakfast!" Charmy announced, getting out another tray of desserts.

"I'm gonna hit on all the girls!" Finral said, striking an overdramatic pose "Ocean girls? Mountain girls? All the girls meet…me!"

"By the way, Gauche, good job handling that many guys yesterday." He told Gauche, who was now staring at a picture of his sister. Again.

"Today's my sister's birthday, so could I have the next year off, until her next birthday?" Gauche asked with genuine intent.

"No"

"I'm so bored! I wonder if anyone will attack the Royal Capital again." Luck said, throwing mock punches into the air. "Hey! Maybe I'll attack it!"

"That's a bigger no.". 'What kind of Idea is that?'.

Cotton Creation Magic: Sheep Cooks! Charmy activated a spell, having her magic cooks cook her more food. 'Are those all potatoes? What is wrong with her? Actually, that's a whole different can of worms.'. "Time to eat!" she called out. Seeing the table filled with all kinds of cooked potatoes, Yami lost his appetite. But when Asta noticed the potatoes, he stopped his push-ups and got off the floor "You got tatoes…"

"I procured the local specialty from my meal-saving prince's hometown, Hage Village!" she said with a mouth full of potatoes "Dig in, everyone!"

"Thanks! So good!" Asta said as he munched on some fried potatoes, tears of joy streaming down his face. Seeing this, Yami decided to try one as well, and he immediately regretted it. "It's so dry. Must be full of fiber."

"It's so flaky" Luck said after tasting one.

"It completely dried out my mouth." Magna said

"So dry…"

Despite all of this, Charmy and Asta still continued eating those dry potatoes. "My love for my meal-saving prince provides the best seasoning!"

"All right! I'm gonna get all the cuties-" Finral said as he started going off, only to be stopped by Yami. "Hold it". This made his turn his head back "Oh, right… You want to do some gambling, so you want me to take you into town again?".

"No, before that…" Yami's stomach rumbled "Not sure if it's the fiber working, but I'm about to hit my limit right now."

"That is the one limit you may not hit!" Finral yelled. "Evil begone!" he said as he shoved Yami into a portal to the toilet.

After taking the best shit of his life, Yami went outside to breathe some fresh air, he a figure approaching, once it got closer, Yami could see it was a man wearing a blue robe like the other advisors of the Wizard King. When he got close enough, he spoke up. "The Wizard King has sent me to notify you that he will send one of your subordinates that is currently staying at the headquarters on a mission".

"Ok with me. As long as they come back alive." Yami said, the man bowing before taking his leave. 'What are you up to Julius?'. He pondered. He did hear of the arrival of two new kids, and had accepted to take them into his squad, once they get approved, because the other captains caught wind of this unorthodox recruitment. 'Maybe we can get more information from them'.

The next morning

Midoriya's P.O.V

---

Midoriya was now coming back to base for the first time since he went off to the capital, after he had enough time to catch up with Todoroki and Yaoyorozu, he felt like he could come back to his other comrades. Walking up to the building, he saw Magna polish the seat of his cyclone, with Asta standing next to him. Asta then noticed him, his face lighting up as he waved at him. "Hey, Midoriya!" he called to him "Do you have something to do on your free day?" he asked.

'Free day?'. "No, I don't think so" Midoriya responded.

"So how about you come with me to Nean?" Asta asked

Midoriya gave him a smile "Alright"

"Get on. Let's get going." Magna said.

"Huh? Right now?" Asta asked in surprise

"Otherwise, we're not going." Magna said, giving Asta an angry look. Both Asta and Midoriya got on, "Hold on tight!" Magna said before taking off. After some time flying, Asta told them what he was going to do at Nean. "What?! You're going to see a chick you met at the mixer?!" Magna exclaimed. 'If he's going to do that, why did he invite me?!'. "Yup! I promised Rebecca that I would play with her little siblings." Asta said.

"M-Man, you're already meeting her family? Way to go!" Magna said "Don't mess this up."

"Got it!"

"There it is!" Magna said as the city was now visible in the distance.

"All right! I'm going to play with all the strength I've got!" Asta said. 'I hope it's not going to be weird with me there…'.

"Don't get too crazy!" Magna told him as he sped up towards the city

It was now already sunset. And Midoriya was thankful all they did was play with some children, the little siblings of Asta's friend, it was pretty nice, but it just made Midoriya miss Eri. ´I wonder if Eri even knows I'm gone. I hope she doesn't, it would probably make her sad.'.

Midoriya was snapped out of his thoughts when Asta received a kick to the head, when Midoriya looked at the offender, he saw his comrade Gauche. "Get away from her this instant, you trash!" He told Asta, stepping on his head.

"Hey, you're my senior with the sister complex who's always getting nosebleeds!" Asta said, forgetting his name.

"Don't call me a guy with a sister complex and nosebleeds, meathead runt!" Gauche said, his leg still on his head "I'll stomp you to death!"

"Mr. Gauche, please stop" Midoriya said, as he took his foot of off Asta.

"I train hard, so you'll have to try harder than that!" Asta said, laughing with his starry-eyed look and making Gauche look annoyed.

"I'm only able to see my sister, who lives at the church, once a month!" Gauche said, his nose bleeding again "Today is the one day that I get to release my pent-up feelings, worship the heck out of my sister, and do all kinds of things with her, so why are you worshiping her first, huh?!" he said, looking really annoyed.

"See? You do have a sister complex and a nosebleed!" Asta said. ´Why are you so dense sometimes? Read the situation!'. Midoriya put a hand over Asta's shoulder "Maybe you should stop provoking him, Asta". At that, Asta looked at Midoriya "What do you mean?" before turning back to Gauche.

"So wait, she's your sister?" he said, this prompted Gauche to hold him up by the collar "Don't you dare point at my angel. I showed you her picture before!".

"Did you? I was just visiting Rebecca and she just happened to be here." Asta said, still in Gauche's grip.

"He's scary" one child said

"What does he mean by "all kinds of things"?" another one asked

"Man, Marie sure is cute." Asta said, rubbing the back of his head.

This made Gauche put Asta down and again stomp on his head "Of course she is! More importantly, why do you have your eye on my little sister?"

"Stop!" Marie told her brother "Please don't be so mean, Brother! I'm going to marry him!". 'What? This won't go down well with Gauche.'. Gauche froze, before he started mumbling "I'll kill you…I'll kill you…I'll kill you…" he looked up, smiling although he had tears in his eyes. Getting out his grimoire, it opened before him, glowing. Mirror Magic: Reflect Ray! A mirror appeared, floating beside Gauche, Asta appearing in the reflection. The mirror then glowed intensely, before a light beam shot out of it, Asta barely dodging it.

"Wh-What the heck's up with that spell?!" Asta said, falling on his butt.

"I'll kill you!" Gauche said with determination, shooting off more beams. ´He's really protective of his sister, huh?'. "Brother, sto-" Marie was cut off when Midoriya drove his fist through the mirror, destroying it. "Huh? Nerd, why are you meddling in other people's businesses?".

"It sure is nosy out here." Midoriya heard an old woman say from behind Gauche. Looking at her, he could see she is an elderly woman with short, light-colored hair. She has a large, jagged scar running down over her left eye, extending from her forehead to her left cheek and she wears a nun's outfit.

"Marie, it's time. We must go back to the church." The nun told Marie. Her eyes then set upon Gauche "Oh, so you came, Gauche."

"You old hag!" Gauche said bluntly

"It's not "old hag", It's "Sister"." She told him

"Marie's about to go on a date with me." He said to the old nun, closing his grimoire. "Go back to the church by yourself, Sister Old Hag.". ´What is up with that dude.'.

"Not happening. It's time." She said as if it was already decided "You go home, you sister complex punk. In any case, it's not good for Marie to spend time with a guy like you. Your attitude's always terrible. You have mean eyes and a filthy mouth."

"What did you say, you shitty old hag?" Gauche asked

"See? Filthy"

"Shut up. Die"

"You've got some nerve, saying that to an old lady who's not long for this world, you fool." The nun said as they both advanced towards each other.

"Yeah, right, dumbass. Says the old she-demon who'll probably live another hundred years" he said in retort.

"Don't talk to people like they're monsters, you thug!"

"Shut up, gangster hag!"

"Gauche, I think that's enough" Midoriya said "Calling each other names won't bring you anywhere."

"You stay out of this you meddling nerd!" Gauche replied. 'Bakugo really rubbed off on them' .

"Anyway, go home. Let's go, Marie." The nun said, taking her along to the church. "Brother, Asta! See you later!" Marie said, waving at them.

Seeing this, Gauche completely broke down. "M-Marie!" he said before collapsing and not getting up. "G-Gauche? Are you okay? Gauche?" Midoriya said, kneeling beside him and shaking him a little bit.

"Why don't you come in and have dinner at our place while you wait for him to wake up?" Rebecca asked them "You're welcome to spend the night…if you want." She said, blushing a little.

"really?" Asta asked, excited, as Midoriya hefted Gauche over his shoulder with ease.

They went in to the restaurant Rebecca owned, and sat down with her siblings. When she put food on the table, Asta began eating like usual, and Midoriya felt a little uncomfortable. "Asta…" Midoriya said, gesturing him over to whisper in his ear "Was it really the best idea to bring me with you to meet with a girl you met in a mixer?".

"Yeah of course, Midoriya! My friends are your friends by extension, aren't they?" he said, munching on some food. "By the way, I hope you can introduce me to your friends that came over from the same place as you, I also want to thank the one that saved me" He said, constantly eating. "All these dishes are so good that I can't put my spoon down!"

"Really? I'm glad to hear it!" Rebecca answered, serving another customer.

"You'll be a great wife one day, Rebecca!" Asta said with his dumb smile.

"It's no big deal…" she answered, blushing.

Hearing this, Midoriya looked aside, a little uncomfortable, and he saw a girl sit in a table next to their, who seemed to be frustrated about something. They kept on eating, until the restaurant closed and they headed home.

Rebecca showed him to an empty room in her house, and he fell asleep almost immediately.

Midoriya jolted out of his sleep by a loud noise of something crashing in the house. 'What is happening!?'. Midoriya quickly got out of bed fully clothed and headed in the direction of the noise. 'Asta's room?'. Kicking the door open, he saw Gauche stand in front of the now broken wall. "Gauche! What the hell?!" Midoriya yelled, before noticing the snow outside. "What is going on?".

"Die!" Gauche said, firing out another one of his light beams before jumping out into the street, Midoriya following suit. "I'll never let you marry my sister." He said.

"Now's not the time for that!" Asta said.

"There's nothing more important than Marie, damn it! I'll kill you!" He said with an angry look.

"Hey, what the heck's going on in this town?" Midoriya heard a familiar voice say. "Why is it snowing this time of year? This is absurd!" Noelle said.

"Noelle? What are you doing here?" Midoriya asked, surprised.

"I-I just happened to be in the area. It's just a coincidence." Noelle replied.

"Who's that, Izuku?" Rebecca asked.

"She's from our magic knight squad." He answered.

"Listen, I saw a whole bunch of kids go up to the mountains earlier. What's that about? Do you guys have some festival this late at night?"

"I'm going to make you bleed." Gauche said from behind Asta.

"Stop it" Midoriya heard the nun from earlier say, and he turned around seeing her approach them. "I feel magical power in this snow. There is magic at work here. Magic that can control others…and that only affects children whose magic hasn't matured. A number of ours were taken, too. What do they mean to do taking all these children?"

"Hey, old hag, what do you mean, "taken"?" Gauche asked, suddenly interested in the missing kids. "Don't tell me Marie was, too!"

"Sadly, that is what I'm saying."

"You old hag!" Gauche said, anger in his voice, as he ran forward and grabbed the old nun by the collar, lifting her up into the air. "How could you let that happen, you stupid old hag?!"

"So quick to resort to violence…You really are a failure. If you want to hit me, go ahead. But that won't bring the children. It won't bring back Marie." She said. "You're right, But I won't feel better until I do!" he said, cocking his fist. 'Ok, this is where he crossed the line, he can't go around hitting old nuns.'. Midoriya then activated his quirk at low power, smacking Gauche into the snow, and leaving the nun untouched.

"Izuku, you bastard." Gauche said with a mouthful of snow.

"Oh, come on, Gauche. You know you can't go around picking fights! You're a Magic Knight!" Midoriya said "Just calm down for a bit and then we can talk".

"Calm, eh? You're right." Gauche said, getting up "I'll calmly kill you." He said, his face covered with blood. "That hurt, you stupid little brat!" he said, kicking Midoriya in the face. "S-Sorry Gauche! I miscalculated!"

"Miscalculate this!" he said, bringing out his mirror.

"Wait, wait, wait! Now's not the time for this!" Asta said, getting in front of Gauche "We need to find some clues!"

"What? As if it'll be that easy!" Gauche said before remembering something "The magic mirror that I have Marie keep with her at all times… I wouldn't be able to transmit to it because of this snow, but if I search for the mana in that mirror…I should be able to figure out where she is." He said.

"That's great Gauche! Do that!" Midoriya said

"All right! I may have figured that out, but I'm still killing you." Gauche responded

"Seriously, Mr. Gauche?!" Asta asked.

"I'm going, as well. I'm going to get the kids from the church and the town back." The old nun said.

"Old sister, leave this to us." Asta said, being cut off by Gauche "No. As much as it pains me to say it, this old hag will be useful."

"Huh? She's not just an ordinary old lady?" Asta asked, confused.

"I'm not going to lose to you young'uns just yet." The nun said with a smile.

"Asta…Marco's an idiot and Luca's too headstrong, so I'm worried about them…What should I do? If something were to happen to them…" Rebecca said, kneeling on the snow, tears welling up in her eyes.

Suddenly, Asta karate chopped her on the head "Get a hold of yourself, Rebecca! It'll be fine! I'll get them back, no matter what! They'll laugh at you if you're all panicky when we get back.". Asta said as he hanged from Gauche's broom while Midoriya got on the old nun's.

"Hey, I'm going, too!" Noelle said.

"You can't fly on your own either, can you? Do you want to dangle, like him?" Gauche asked.

"The town might be attacked again." The nun said "Would you mind staying behind?"

"And could you report back to the Magic Knights?" Midoriya asked as they were flying away

After flying for some time, Gauche finally spoke up. "I sense mana in there." He said, looking at some caves.

"A cave. That must be where all the abducted children are!" The nun said.

"Gauche, could you let me down a sec?" Asta asked. "Not my problem. I don't care about anyone besides Marie. If you want to go, then jump off." Gauche answered. Asta took his offer, releasing his grip on the broom. "Asta! How can you call yourself a Magic Knight?!". He didn't hit the ground however, as Midoriya caught him in his arms, landing safely on the ground.

When they got closer to the kid, they could see it was one of Rebecca's siblings. "This is awful. He's covered in wounds, and he's frostbitten." The nun said, and Asta tried calling him. "It's no use. He's under a spell and still unconscious." She said.

"All right, leave it to me!" Asta said as he got his sword out of his grimoire. "What are you-" the nun said, and Asta gave the kid a small knock on the head with the sword's guard. "Huh? Asta...Sister…" Marco spoke. ´He erased the spell! with this we'll free the others in no time.'.

"Are you all right, Marco?"

"It hurts…" the child cried, suddenly noticing his wounds. 'To think someone would hurt children like this…' Midoriya's blood was boiling. "We have to go save the others, or they might get hurt as well!" Midoriya said "But what can we do about Marco?".

"Just a second…" The old nun said, pulling out her grimoire. Flame Recovery Magic: Sacred Healing Light. The spell made a bunch of magical candles appear out of thin air, floating next to the boy and getting rid of the cold. "It's so warm…" the boy said, mist floating away from his body.

"You're amazing, old lady! You can even heal wounds?" Asta said, surprised.

The nun ignored the compliment, more focused on the situation at hand "What in the world happened?" she asked the boy.

"I…don't know." He answered.

'Whoever did this is going to pay. Once you hurt children, you cross a line even most villains wouldn't.' Midoriya's fists clenched. "Marco. We have to go and save everyone else" Midoriya said, putting on his 'Everything will be fine' smile "Could you wait here by yourself until we save everyone?" Midoriya asked.

"Huh? No! I'm scared, Izuku. Stay with me, please."

Hearing that, Asta spoke up "What are you talking about? You're a man, too, aren't you?" Asta asked, taking off his robe and putting it on Marco "Just this once, I'll let you borrow my Black Bulls robe!" he said, kneeling and putting his hand on the child's shoulder "As long as you have this on, you'll be fine! It's got Magic Knight courage in it, after all!" hearing this, the kid's face lit up, as he looked up at Asta, Asta said "You can wait until we get back, right?"

"Yeah!" Marco said, ready.

"But don't forget! I'm only letting you borrow it!" Asta said "You're going to give it back to me later! You'll give it back, right? And don't get any snot on it!".

"Y-Yup."

"Alright, we have to hurry and get to the others, we can't tell what danger are they in." Midoriya said as they all got up and started heading where Gauche went.

Earlier that day

Bakugo's P.O.V

---

"Icy hot! Come on! We have a summon!" Bakugo was knocking on Todoroki's door. It was early in the morning, but they had gotten a summon and Bakugo had to take both Rich girl and Icy hot. Deku had left this morning for the base, but Bakugo decided to stay, wanting to do more missions and advance his rank. "Icy hot-" Bakugo was cut off when he opened the door.

"What do you mean by summon?" Todoroki asked, wearing his hero costume just like Momo was wearing hers. They were issued some clothes while they stayed here, but preferred their hero costumes. "Just come, Icy hot" Bakugo said as he walked away, Rich girl in tow.

They walked up until they reached the garden, where two people were waiting. One was the Wizard King, and the other was Mushroom head. "Hello there, how are you feeling?" The Wizard King greeted the three. "We are well, thanks to your hospitality" Momo said, giving him a bow. "Well, I'm glad to hear that. I'll get to the matter at hand. Our scouts have reported a gathering of Diamond Kingdom Soldiers at a town near our border with them. We predict an organized large scale attack, so I want you to join some other Magic Knights I have already informed and storm the enemy force at once, before they have a chance to attack.".

Bakugo smiled at that "Of course! Count me in". Julius gave him a little smile, before looking at the others. "We'll go too." Todoroki said. After all of them accepted, Marx took them with him over to someone who will take them.

It was now noon, as they and the other magic knights stood on a hill overlooking the town they were about to launch an attack at. Military personnel were walking around the town, with tents erected in the streets to house the soldiers.

"Look at the diamond scum, this could be a firm blow to their army" a member of the Golden Dawn said from behind Bakugo. "Everyone, listen!" Alecdora from the Golden Dawn called over the other Magic Knights, standing tall and calling their attention over. "We have confirmed what we needed, we will now commence attack on the Diamond Army. Does anyone have anything to add?" he asked, getting silence in return. "Ok then, charge them! Leave no soldier standing!" Alecdora said as they all started heading to the town. Bakugo blasted off, flying towards the enemy camp.

"What are you doing, fool!? You'll alert them to our present!" Some Crimson Lion Knight called out from behind him.

"It doesn't matter! I'll crush them all!" Bakugo yelled back.

Bakugo knew exactly what he had to do, he'll crush the enemy before the others have the chance. He saw some soldiers looking his way in confusion, before realizing what was going on. They scattered and sounded the alarm. A sinister smile appeared on Katsuki's face when he saw three of them start launching spells his way.

"Kill the intruder!" Katsuki heard one of them shout, as he was now close enough to them. He prepared to launch a counterattack, only for the three to be overwhelmed by ice. "Icy hot! Don't get in my way!" Bakugo yelled, proceeding to throw his explosions around the camp, taking out several unsuspecting enemy mages. 'The surprise attack was a total success, they don't even know where this is coming from!'.

Some of the scattered mages managed to regroup, one off them was different from the rest. 'Their commander? If so, I'll crush him right now.'. he heard Todoroki run up to him from behind. "Bakugo, don't go off alone all the time." He said "The others went after the other camps."

"Icy hot, take on the small fries. I'm going after him." He pointed at the man.

Hearing that, the man in question chuckled to himself "You? You will fight me? You Clover Kingdom brats think a lot of yourselves." He said "I'm Pathosa, one of the eight shining generals. I will wipe your little attack force out myself."

"You sure are confident. Come at me, with everything you've got" Bakugo said, erupting at the mage as his soldiers cleared the way, closing in on Todoroki. "DIE!" he yelled, launching an explosion at the general. Marble Creation Magic: Chiseled Barrier! A white, neatly chiseled barrier made out of white marble erupted from the ground, taking the explosion instead of the mage. "I see, you're a defensive type, huh? Then I'll just have to hit again and again, until you die!" Bakugo said, proceeding to throw explosion after explosion at the mage with increasing speed. The mage was producing barrier after barrier. 'It doesn't seem to dent his magic supply that much. In that case…' Bakugo launched into the air, distancing himself from the mage.

"Haha, thanks for the opening, now, I'll show you the full might of the Diamond Kingdom. Marble Creation Magic: Pure White Fangs. This made white spikes appear on the ground, heading towards Katsuki. "Don't underestimate me!" Katsuki yelled as he started blasting off in the direction of the magic, flying in a circular motion and created a black tornado made out smoke, collection oxygen for the following attack. Evading all the spikes, Katsuki closed in on the general. Howitzer… he pointed an open, glowing orange palm towards his enemy, who was erecting a new barrier Impact! The ensuing explosion created a giant fireball, consuming his enemy whole. He toned it down as to not hurt the surrounding to much, but the building next to the attack were blast open. As the smoke cleared, Bakugo saw his enemy getting up far away from him, where the explosion flung him into a wall. Marble Creation Magic: Crystalized White Armor… Bakugo could see the man protected himself with a white armor of sorts, covering his body. The armor was broken in so places, and those places were bruised and scorched.

The general noticed Bakugo was edging towards him, and got up faster. "G-Get away. Don't come any closer." He got up. And ran away towards another street. "You bastard! Don't run away!" Bakugo said, heading after him. "I'll blow you apart!" Katsuki said, preparing to unleash another explosion, only to see what the general was doing. "Come any closer. And I'll kill her!" the general said, holding a woman in a chokehold and holding up a marble dagger.

"How can you hold one of you own as a hostage?! You bastard!" Katsuki shouted at him "But what did you think? How can I be a hero if I can't save hostages?" Katsuki said. He knew what to do, he quickly stretched out his right arm, using his left hand to make a circle on his right palm, launching an explosion from the circle. AP Shot! Bakugo let out two shots, piercing both his shoulders. He cried out in pain, releasing the girl, who ran away immediately. Katsuki walked out to the man, delivering a kick to the man's face rendering him unconscious. 'I hope there are stronger people around here…'.

"Bakugo" Todoroki called out from behind him "Let's go clean the rest up and finish this". He then began walking away, Bakugo following suit. After walking for a while, they reached the only place where there was still fighting. Mana Enhance: Creation! They both saw Momo make several blades erupt from her right arm, breaking through an enemy's rock magic and pin him to a wall, as another Magic Knight knocked him out. "That was the last of them!" Alecdora announced "A major victory for the Clover Kingdom!" some knights cheered at their victory. "You two" Alecdora called out to Todoroki and Bakugo "How did you fare?".

"We're all good, I took out someone who said he was a shining general. I have no idea what was he talking about though.". the ones who heard this were amazed at hearing that.

"I heard he was strong, but still…" one of them said.

"Well, why aren't we leaving? Todoroki asked.

"We have to round up all the enemy soldiers and take them with us, we'll gather information and prevent any attack on the Clover Kingdom" Alecdora said, turning to some other Magic Knights "So get to work!"

"Hey, Rich girl! How did you do that?". 'There's no way she managed to actually do that, right?'. "Show me how" he said.

"Sure, if you say "Please"."

"P-Please show me how to do it"

"Of course, Bakugo."

Midoriya was mad seeing what happened to Marco, and he was angered further when he entered the big cavern where all the children were held. In the corner, next to a large glass container, he saw two people. One is a lean man with long white hair that extends past his shoulders and with some hanging down in the front towards his nose. He wears an open, long-sleeved white shirt, white pants, and white shoes. He also wears a blue scarf around his neck, and a blue belt that has a link of puffballs on his left side that connects to a blue grimoire pouch.

The other is a big man, he has long hair and glasses. He wears black clothing and boots, with a white scarf and a white grimoire pouch. Midoriya's blood boiled when he saw he was holding Marie in a chokehold, threatening Gauche with her life. "What are you going to do If I get annoyed and put a little too much strength into my grip?" he said "Neige, beat him to a pul-". He didn't get to finish the sentence though, when Midoriya, now a blur, took Marie out his hands with one hand and punched him with the other on square n the chest. He cried out in pain as he flew through the glass container and into the wall behind him, getting embedded into it, creating a crater.

"I-Izuku?" Marie asked from behind him. He turned around, giving her a smile. "It's ok now".

"No, it's not. These children have had their magic sucked out of them." The nun said, kneeling beside the children with her grimoire "If left like this, they may never be able to use magic again."

"That man was saying how it'd be worth a lot of money" Marie said.

"H-How could you…" Midoriya said, approaching the man with a dark look "How could you steal the bright future of kids?". 'Me and Asta have been unlucky to be born with now power, but this man stole it from them. Does he not care what happens to them?'. "I'll never forgive those who prey on the weak". Midoriya grabbed him by the collar.

"Like I care, you moron!" the criminal laughed "It doesn't matter to me if someone else dies or loses their magic!". Midoriya's froze at that. "You really have no sympathy, do you?" Midoriya said "You're a trash of this world" Midoriya got up and left.

"Midoriya, how are you letting him off this easy?" Asta asked, enraged.

"Our fists will be wasted on him, leave him be. We'll let the law deal with him." Midoriya answered.

"You're right" the nun said, binding the criminal with her magic "more importantly, we have to do something about those kids."

"Hey, tell us how to give them their magic back!" Asta asked, enraged.

"At least let me go! Then I'll tell-" he bargained, but was cut off by Asta "Don't mess with me!"

"He's rotten to the bone." The nun said "Asta, first, undo the spell that's on the children.". Asta proceeded to go around, undoing the spell on the kids, freeing them of their trance like state. "There, there. Come here, all of you."

"hurry up and treat Marie's wounds, you old hag." Gauche said.

"You don't have to tell me to do it, you sister complex punk." The nun replied, getting out her grimoire and Casting her healing spell Flame Recovery Magic: Sacred Healing Light. The spell once again made a bunch of magical floating candles appear next to the children, covering them in warm light that healed them.

"Hey, you brats in the middle." Gauche said, pointing at them "Make some room for Marie! That way she'll get better faster."

"Oh, stop it, Brother!" she said, walking towards the healing light.

"Bless you, Marie. You're as kind as an angel." Gauche said "Angels belong in the middle!"

"The magic will work just the same wherever she stands." The nun pointed out

While they talked, Midoriya went up to the equipment the criminals used, next to the glass container. 'I wonder what are all those test tubes and chemicals for. I wish Yaoyorozu was here, she would probably know…' He then noticed something flashing red on the table. 'What's this?'.

Midoriya was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Gauche talk behind him. "Marie told me that you were the one who hit her." He told the white-haired man "The only way to atone for that is death". Even though the others pleaded him to stop, he kept on kicking the man. "I will eliminate anyone who might hurt Marie now, before they have the chance!".

"Asking them how to return the children's magic is more important." The nun said, turning around to face the black-haired criminal "You two. Why did you do this? These children are the future of this kingdom. They're the three-leaf sprouts that grace this nation!".

"I just wanted friends…" the white-haired man said, crying underneath Gauche's foot "It hurts… What should I do, Baro?"

"Wow" Midoriya heard a new voice say, and his blood froze. He recognized that voice.

"Took you long enough, for someone who travels with spatial magic!" the criminal said. 'Spatial magic? So it is her. One of the mages from the invasion of the capital.'. "They got in the way of our magic collecting! Help us!".

"Jeez, you're so whiny. But you get a pat on the back this time." She said, emerging from the portal, waving at them. "Asta! I'm so happy we get to see each other again so soon!" she said "I came here because you called me with the magic transmission item, but you haven't gathered that much magic yet.". 'So this is what the glowing thing was! I won't let her throw her weight around this time around'.

"It's all their fault!" the criminal now known as Baro cried out

"Well, it's not like I care."

"All of you stay right here. You hear me?" the nun told the kids before getting up "The eye of the Midnight Sun…The terrorist group that attacked the capital?"

"That's them!" Asta said.

"So basically, you're the one who put Marie through all this. I'll kill you" Gauche said, launching a beam from his mirror. Gel Magic: Sticky Salamander! The girl casted a spell, creating a big salamander made of gel. 'This won't work, the attack will be refracted for sure!'. As soon as the beam made contact, it was refracted inside the salamander's body, exiting through its head. "Could you not interrupt out moving reunion?" the girl said. 'It Kinda reminds me of the sludge villain, it's gel body will negate physical attacks like mine. Think, think.'.

"While I'm at it, maybe I'll dissect you all!" The girl said. 'Maybe I'll try speed? But I don't know what other spells she can use…'.

"What is that ominous magic?" the nun said, surprised at the ease in which she deflected the attack.

"Be careful, Gauche, Granny!" Asta said

"Here I come!" the girl announced, entering the salamander, with the latter lunging at them. Asta took to attacking, Jumping straight at the salamander, sword in hand. But to Midoriya's surprise the salamander curved his body to avoid the attack. Asta jumped again, this time the salamander's head popping off to avoid the attack. 'She can even avoid Asta's attacks. We must come up with a strategy. Perhaps absolute speed and power are the key.'

"Anti-magic is no problem at all if it can't hit me!" the girl said with a smile

"Impudent pest!" Gauche said, preparing for another attack Mirror Magic: Reflect Refrain! Several mirrors appeared next to the salamander, floating in midair, before they all reflect a single beam, multiplying the impact. Unfortunately, this attack was completely refracted as well, missing the mage entirely.

"That's some fine magic, but it gets refracted inside Salaman, so there's really no point. Things might be a bit different if you have something stronger!" the girl said, launching a gooey projectile at Gauche. Trapping him and sticking him to a wall. "Here you go, Asta!" She said, launching a tendril to capture Asta. 'What can I do? Maybe my air bullets will be effective? All might would've dealt with this easily with air pressure, but I can't just do it. Damn it!'. Midoriya could just look on as she trapped Asta, pulling him to her. "Gotcha!" she said, hovering above him. 'Is she…licking him?'.

"Stop it!" Asta cried out. 'No more of this!'. One for All: Full Cowl 15%! 'I'll need all the speed I can muster!'. Midoriya jumped with all his might, creating a crater in the ground where he was standing moments ago. He passed through the Salamander's stomach, landing on the ceiling. The girl barely had time to look back, but as he was about to jump back, he saw something inside the Salamander, glowing orbs appeared out of nowhere. Flame Magic: Brilliant Flame Cross! the nun launched an attack spell, a cross made out of fire appeared, melting the salamander completely. After This, Midoriya jumped back, grabbing Asta and delivering a backhand strike to the girl.

"That's enough of that! I won't let you have this boy!" the nun said, standing before Midoriya and Asta.

"Hey, don't get in the way." The girl said.

"Thanks, Granny! You're super strong!" Asta said with a starry-eyed look.

"I may be old, but I'm a former Magic Knight!" the nun announced "I'm Theresa the Crimson She-Leopard!". She was suddenly all pumped out for a battle.

"Wait…Former Magic Knight?!" Asta said "Crimson…Then do you know Captain Fuegoleon?"

"Oh, Fueggy? Sure." She said with a slight smile.

"Fueggy?"

"When I served at the palace I was his tutor." The nun said. 'Wow, with someone like this that can take care of the girl's gel magic, we can win for sure!'.

"But Granny. Captain Fuegoleon was…By them" Asta said, remembering Fuegoleon's current predicament.

"Yeah, I know" the nun said "We'll catch this one, no matter what. Izuku, with your speed, we can keep her on the defensive, until her magic gives in." she told him. 'Finally, a strategy, as expected of a magic knight.'.

"Do something about this, you old hag!" Gauche called out

"What are you doing over there, you sister complex failure?"

"You stupid old hag…"

"Four against one, huh?" the girl said "that doesn't look so good"

While the nun went over to free Gauche, Midoriya saw the girl turn around to the Baro, the black-haired criminal. 'What are they talking about?'.

"Hey! What are you two whispering about?!" Asta called out

The girl walked up to the man, before pulling out a giant syringe and sticking it in his neck, Inject all the fluid into him. At first, he didn't move, but then, all of a sudden, he started bulging and crying out in pain. Then, to Midoriya's disgust, Mud started spilling out of his eyes, nose and mouth, covering him.

"What is that?! His magic is swelling!" the nun said in horror. Seeing what the man turned into gave Midoriya a flashback of the sludge villain that nearly killed him and Bakugo. He was now a giant made of mud.

"Whoopsie! Looks like I messed up a little." The girl said, rubbing the back of her head "He can move now, and his magic's recharged, but it looks like his personality wandered off somewhere.". The mud raised his fist, slamming into a wall and making the children cry out in fear.

"Protect the children, Gauche! Asta! Izuku!" the nun said. But instead of listening, Gauche got on his broom, took Marie and started running away.

"Forget him! We must take this villain out before it can hurt the children!" Midoriya called out to the others.

Suddenly, the mud man struck the ground next to Asta, sending him flying. He landed and stuck his sword in the ground to slow himself down. "I'm going to take you home for sure this time, Asta!"

"We can't handle something this big!" the nun said "First of all, we have to get the kids out of here." The nun cast a spell, creating a leopard made of fire next to the kids "Kids, take turns riding out of here on that!"

"I won't let you get near them!" Asta said

"Die…All of you…" the mud man muttered out, walking up to neige.

"B-Baro? What's wrong?" the white-haired criminal asked, seeing the mud man raise his fist "Y-You don't know who I am?". The mud man struck his fist down, but Asta used his sword to sever it. "Why…did you save me?".

"You haven't taken responsibility for any of this yet!" Asta replied "I'm not letting you die until you do!". "Also, what's your problem? You're trying to kill your own brother?!" Asta said, turning towards the mud man, before charging it. "Looks like my sword's working, so I'm just gonna quickly take care of-" Asta gasped, seeing the giant regrow the hand that was just cut off.

"Now your anti-magic won't be able to defeat him so easily!" the girl said with a smile "The dark magic item I just injected him with eats the subject's life force and produces an explosion of magical power!"

"How could you do that!?" Midoriya said, enraged "What is life to you?!" he said, charging the mud man along with Asta, breaking off large chunks by kicking them away, but it was endless.

"You're wide open, Asta!" the girl said, launching another binding attack his way. The attack was stopped by the old nun's fire magic. "Aw, you got in the way again! Quit butting in, would ya? I'm not interested in an old lady whose magic's all dried up." The girl said, annoyed at the old nun's intervention.

"Looks like you've got a mouth on you, whippersnapper." The nun said "It's true that as you get older, the magic you can generate internally weakens. But the power to work with the mana that dwells in nature can be increased at any age." The nun condensed some fire magic in her hand "I have years of experience and technique. I won't lose to a youngster like you!" she then shouted out "Don't you dare underestimate us old hags!"

"Jeez, you're an annoying old lady, aren't you?" the girl said "Don't blame me if you kick the bucket today."

"Go ahead and try it!" the nun replied, shooting several magic fireballs at the mud man. They continued fighting for a while, but there was no end to the mud man's regeneration. 'When all the kids are out, we can finish this.'. "Not yet…I'm not done yet!" Midoriya heard Asta declare yet again.

"Jeez, you're so stubborn." The girl said with her arms spread "Why don't you stop protecting them and let me catch you already?"

"Stop protecting them? I'm a magic knight!" Asta replied, raising his sword again, ready for combat "Not a chance! Even if it kills me!" the mud man struck his fist towards Asta "And I'm not going to die until I become the Wizard King!" Asta yelled, slashing through the fist.

"Asta! On your right!" Midoriya called out, rebounding from the wall towards Asta. 'I won't make it in time'. Fortunately, Gauche appeared out of nowhere, kicking Asta in the back and out of harm's way. "You yelled something stupid like "I'm not going to die", and then you actually almost died." He said.

"Gauche! Why'd you run off like that?" Asta questioned

"Shut up!" Gauche replied as he knocked Asta to the ground.

'At least he's back'.

"I didn't run. I only helped Marie escape." Gauche said, flying up to the monster "I'll deal with you myself!"

"You joining in isn't going to help!" the girl said, summoning her salamander again. 'Not good, even if he's back, she'll just negate his magic.'.

"Whatever. I'm going to fight…for the sake of Marie's love!" his mirror lit up "And so she'll say I'm cool". Real Double! Gauche summoned a clone of himself, and then they both flipped through their grimoires. 'He's going to double his attack and try his luck? I hope this works'. Double Refrain! Both Gauches sent out a whole lot of mirrors to surround both the mud man and the girl, launching a massive attack.

Even though the attack damaged the monster heavily, it regenerated soon enough. 'How can we overpower it? Certainly not with who we have here'. "It's no use!" the girl said, wagging her finger. The mud man then swung at Gauche several times, before managing to take both him and his clone down.

"Gauche!" they called out, seeing he was about to be crushed by the mud man. This time, Midoriya arrived at time, kicking the hand apart. "Gauche! If you're here to help, we have to come up with a strategy!" Midoriya said "We are a team after all!"

"Deku's right, Gauche! If we all protect each other, we can fight forever!" Asta said, before looking at Midoriya "An epic strategy, if I do say so myself!" he said before turning away and charging the mud man again.

"Granny, how many kids are left?" Asta asked.

"Just a few more!"

"I guess I don't have a choice." Gauche said, blasting the mud man again "Marie will be sad if you all die" he looked at them "I'll protect you"

"What are you acting all tough for? We're teammates! What else would we do?" Asta replied.

"You stupid little brat! You need to learn how to talk to your seniors!" Gauche said, before pointing at Asta's grimoire "And something's shining over there." Asta looked at his grimoire, pulling out his second sword, who was now glowing purple. Asta examined it for a little bit before swinging it, launching a crescent of purple magic at the mud man's way, severing his hand.

Unfortunately, he regenerated soon enough. "Aw, man! Even that didn't work?" Asta said, disappointed.

"Wait, what was that? A flying anti-magic slash attack?" the girl said, popping out of her salamander "How did you do it? How did you do it?"

"Hey, old hag!" Gauche said "Buy me a little time! Please!"

"You need to learn how to treat old hags." She said "I'll only last a minute, so make it fast!" she launched fire blast after fire blast at the mud monster.

"Leftover magic like that isn't going to work at all." The girl said "Anyway, Asta! Do that thing again!"

"Aw. How boring." She said, returned to inside the salamander.

The mud man tried stomping on Asta, but Midoriya destroyed it once again. "Asta!" he heard Gauche called out "Look at me!". Mirror Magic: Mirage Brigade! This spawned a whole bunch of Astas, with all of them charging the mud man. They threw crescent attack after crescent attack, slicing the mud man apart before it could regenerate before moving on to the salamander. Mirror Slash!

'Enough with the "I'm not done yet". It's not necessary'

After the attack was done, all clones disappeared, leaving only the Asta standing. "all right!" he cried out.

After reminiscing in the victory for a bit, Midoriya saw the white-haired criminal cry, clutching his brother's clothes. "Baro, I won't forgive her for turning you into this monster. But the one I can't forgive most of all is myself for leaving everything to him and just doing what he said!" he got up, looking at Asta. "Just as you said, I haven't taken responsibility for anything. So I'm going to pay for both of our crimes."

"Yeah. And when you're done with that, let's be buddies." Asta told him, shocking Midoriya. 'How can he have such a forgiving heart. After what those two did…'. "You can use really cool magic, so you'd be really popular!". Asta gave him a smile, closing his eyes and not noticing that Neige has collapsed to the floor, a spear of light stuck in his back. Midoriya's eyes widened 'Who…Who?' He started looking around for the adversary.

He didn't need to look far, as brilliant light shone from a corner of the cavern. Soon after, two spears hit Gauche. The next attack was gunning for Asta, but was stopped by the nun, who threw her body in front of his to protect him. "Old hag!" Gauche called out as the nun collapsed.

The next attack came towards Midoriya, and he dodged it with the skin of his teeth. 'What the hell is that!?'.

"They hurt my comrade. They got what they deserved." The mysterious glowing man said.

"W-Who is that?" Asta said.

"I guess I haven't introduced myself yet. I am the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun…Licht". Asta was staring at him, his grimoire in particular, looking at it, Midoriya could see it was a four leaf grimoire. 'A four-leaf grimoire…that indicates a strong mage, doesn't it…'.

"Granny! Get a grip!" Midoriya heard Asta say, kneeling next to the dying nun.

"Don't you dare die, you old hag!" Gauche said "you're going to make Marie sad if you die! I wouldn't like it very much, either!"

"T-Take care of the children for me…" the nun uttered, bleeding from her mouth "In any battlefield… the victims were…always the weak. It was always the innocent children. It's because I wanted to protect the children that I left the battlefield and became a sister.". 'We'll make it out alive, all of us. Now that I have a solid target to strike, I can finally be useful.'.

"What are you talking about?" Licht said, making the spears disappear from the nun's body "All of you were born sinners."

"What?" Asta inquired, pulling his swords out of his grimoire, ready for combat.

Midoriya was surprised as he saw the man start to cry, tears streaming down his face "You poor thing…Sally, look at how much they've hurt you. Rest, my child.". 'is he…crying?'. "Valtos" The said, Midoriya finally noticing the spatial magic user behind him, who proceeded to open a portal, with Licht putting the girl into it.

"See you later Asta" the girl said before disappearing "You belong to me"

"Forgive me, my lord. All this because I let her go alone…" Valtos apologized "I never imagined all of this would happen."

"There's no need for you to feel responsible." Licht said, reassuring his comrade "I'm sure they used some underhanded methods."

"How can you talk like you have the moral high ground, you villain" Midoriya said.

"Yeah! Look at what you did to all those innocent children!" Asta yelled.

"She mentioned earlier that the victims on the battlefield are always the weak. That is incorrect." Licht said in response "The victims are the strong. Envied, feared, discriminated against, persecuted, and…stolen from" he said with conviction "That is why we will not forgive the Clover Kingdom. This time, we will destroy you and create our own kingdom." He said, more glowing spears appearing beside him.

"What the hell are you talking about?! The strong should protect the weak, since they hold the power to do so. Can't you even see how twisted your worldview is?!" Midoriya said, adrenaline pumping through his veins.

"You're the ones who attacked first, you jerk!" Asta yelled out at him. Not a second later, a spear went through his leg as he cried out in pain.

"Shut your filthy mouth." Licht said with a dark face "You're an eyesore. Why does someone like you have that grimoire?". 'That's bad, I can't protect us both from those incredibly fast attacks, and Asta's reaction time isn't good enough…even with his swords, he can't do anything.'.

"I'm not done yet!" Asta declared, charging forward and using his broad sword as a shield. Unfortunately, Licht appeared behind him "That's won't work." He said "I'll be taking that grimoire back" he declared, charging up an attack, but he didn't get to release it. Shoot Style: St. Louis Smash! That attack missed, but forced Licht to retreat.

"You insolent brat" Licht said, angry, he formed some spears, sending them their way. 'Shit! I won't be able to protect Asta!'. Midoriya dodged, and looking at Asta, he saw he wasn't hit, because something block the attack.

"Captain Yami! What are you doing here?" Asta said, surprised.

"Why am I here? Well, obviously…" Yami said "I'm a little lost. Give me some directions, damn it.". 'Both Captain Yami and Finral! Now we can fight!'.

"Captain, you were lost?!" Asta asked. 'Just how dense is he?'

Hearing this, Yami grabbed him by the head "Of course not, you moron. I was joking, dumbass." Asta seemed to be shocked hearing that. "We're Magic Knights. Of course we're going to show up. Everyone back at the base was useless, so I decided to come myself. I'll kill them all later."

"What the heck are they doing when we're in this much trouble?!"Asta said.

Yami looked at Midoriya next. "Good to see you, slacker. How were you enjoying the capital?". He then looked back at Asta "by the way, didn't I tell you to take the day off? Want me to give you a permanent vacation?" he said, starting to crush Asta's skull to emphasize the point. After letting go of Asta, he finally asked "So, what's his deal?".

"Apparently he's the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun." Midoriya said.

"Th-The Eye of the Midnight Sun?!" Finral asked, surprised.

"Oh? I thought he'd be some big, burly guy who could eat a cow in a single gulp, But he's just a scrawny-ass beanpole." Yami said.

"That's the black Bulls' captain" Valtos notified Licht "Shall I summon the Third Eye?".

"There's no need" Licht said, smiling "I've always to fight him, since he uses dark magic.". 'The third Eye? I wonder what that is. Also, if Yami uses fark magic, isn't that bad? If it's like Tokoyami's dark shadow, this wouldn't be a good match up.'.

"Finral, get the Injured and the kids back to town!" Midoriya said.

"Sure, leave it to me!" Finral said "What about you, Asta? You're injured as well"

"I can still fight!" Asta announced "I finally get a chance to see Captain Yami in action! There's no way I'm leaving

"Gauche and, uh…you there! Can you walk?" Finral asked, seeing Gauche and the Neige get up.

"More impotantly, get to the old hag! Hurry up!" Gauche yelled.

"Got it!" Finral said "All right, Yami. I'm leaving the rest to you."

"Hey. You better come back." Yami said with a dark look.

"You know, I think I'm running low on magic…like for real" Finral said, rubbing the back of his head.

"What do you mean? I'm for real, too."

"Of course you are…" he said, turning around, with Yami blocking a spear that was headed for his back.

"The hell do you think you're doing to my ride?" Yami said as Finral left through a portal with everyone else. "you better come back, damn it!"

"you got great reflexes Yami!" Midoriya said

"So cool! How'd you stop that?" Asta asked with a starry-eyed look "What's up with that sword?!"

"Shut up, brat" Yami said "This is a weapon called a "katana" from my homeland, the Land of the Sun. and the was…Like I have time to explain all this right now. Besides, it's a pain. Midoriya, you seem to be uninjured, so join the fight." He said, getting into a stance.

Light Magic: Light swords of Conviction. Licht launched a whole bunch of swords in Yami's way. Midoriya decided to try and flank him, so he took to the side of the cavern, running along the walls. One for All: Full Cowl 18%. 'I can't use 20% for to long, so I'll just have to get close!'. Looking back at Yami, he saw him block all of the swords with his now black Katana.

Smash! Midoriya slammed his fist on where Licht was, forcing him to relocate, and he appeared behind Yam. This attack method did not work, however, as Yami swung his sword back, blocking Licht's attack. "So this is the power of the great Magic Knight heretic."

"Huh? Hey, have I met you somewhere before?" Yami questioned Licht, going back on the offensive, slashing away at Licht, however Licht was dodging his attacks with great speed. 'He's magic grants him amazing speed, and he's skilled to boot. But Yami will keep him on the defensive, and I'll intervene whenever he tries to go on the offensive. This strategy should work.' Midoriya gave the spatial magic user a look 'As long as he stays out of the equation'. '

"I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone who uses light magic." Yami blocked attacks from Licht, speaking as he was fighting "Who the hell are you? And what's so fun about all of this?" Midoriya rebounded of the cave wall, lunging at Licht and forcing him to relocate again.

"Let me tell you a fable." Licht said, appearing elsewhere and preparing an attack "Long ago, in a certain village, there lived a people with very strong magic. They were loved by mana. They changed the weather and manipulated key lines. They had power to rival the gods. The humans from outside the village worshipped them as such. However, gradually, the humans grew to fear their power. They envied it and wanted it. They tricked them, massacred them, and stole their powers." Licht finished the story.

"What kind of story was that?" Yami asked, attempting to go on the offensive again "What's that got to do with you? Planning to become a bard or something?" Yami blocked the continued onslaught of light magic as he ran up a wall. Midoriya leaped again, cratering the place where Licht was floating in moments ago.

"All right, I've got a little story, too" Yami said, smiling "In a certain place, there was a pure young man. His folks were fishermen and they started sending him out to fish from a young age." Yami used his sword to flip around, facing the teleporting Licht. "And then he got shipwrecked…" he slashed at Licht "…and washed ashore in a strange country. Since his race and culture were different, he went through some nasty stuff there." Yami forced Licht to go on the defensive "But…He kicked all their asses and became the boss of a group. The end!" Yami landed on the ground, exhaling some smoke from his cigarette. "Well? What'd you think of my response fable? Well, it's half of my life, actually."

"You bastard! You dare mock Master Licht?!" The spatial magic user said

"Shut up! Your face is scary!" Yami responded "Why are there lines on your face?!"

In response, another light sword was launched, this time, managing to scratch Yami. 'Not good, did he just get faster?'. "As a foreigner, I suppose my story had nothing to do with you. Would you mind stepping off the stage, then?" Licht said, launching another flurry of swords, this time, some managed to slip through Yami's defense, hitting him.

"Captain Yami!" Asta called out

"I wonder how long you can avoid a fatal blow?" Licht said. 'I must make him take some pressure off of Yami. Come on, Go beyond!'. One for All: Full Cowl 20%! He then promptly charged Licht from the side, dodging the little amount of attack sent his way, before reaching him, Forcing him to retreat again.

"You've gotten faster too." Licht said. Midoriya didn't bother to reply, talking while fighting here could have unfortunate results.

"Are you the guy who took out Fuegoleon?" Yami asked.

"I am." Licht said, a calm look on his face "Although I laid my plans carefully and had him walk into a trap."

"you bastard!" Midoriya yelled at him, charging in again.

"Shut your mouth" Licht said, shooting some more spears his way. 'I won't be fast enough with this percentage of One for All, but what if…' Midoriya commanded his quirk, black tendrils erupting from his arm, whipping away the spears, before vanishing, all in a second.

This second, however, was what Yami needed, breaking forward towards Licht. Leaving him on the defensive, Midoriya couldn't really help, at this close range, his will get in Yami's way. Both their magics increased in power, getting faster, as they were destroying large parts of the cave.

Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Lightless Slash! Yami launched a black, crescent shaped attack at Licht, destroying all the swords he sent his way, managing to scratch Licht, giving him a cut on the cheek.

"Master Licht!" Valtos cried out.

"Trap, eh? I'm sure you wouldn't have been able to win without doing something underhanded." Yami said "This time, come right at me. I'll show you the true power of a Magic Knight Captain!" he then turned to Midoriya "Sit this one out, shrimp".

"Hey, brats. Were you watching me fight?" Yami asked.

"Y-Yes, sir!" Asta replied with a starry-eyed look.

"Good. Now try the same thing." Yami said.

"Yes, sir!" Asta said, before realizing what he said "Wait…Like I could actually do that! Of course I can't!"

"Oh? Who do you think you're talking to?" Yami said with a dark expression, grabbing Asta by the head "I told you to do it, so do it."

"Ow, ow, ow, that really hurts! Ow, ow, ow!" Asta tried to escape the grip of Yami's hand.

"That'll make you a bigger man." Yami said.

Light Recovery Magic: Healing Light Particles. Licht conjured a spell, making him glow brightly as the small wound on his cheek healed.

"He can use recovery magic, too?" Asta said, surprised. 'If he can heal now too, it makes him all the more formidable.'.

"I haven't seen it in person much, but apparently, guys loved by mana can use all sorts of magic. It's especially rare for an attack type to also be able to heal." Yami said while Licht summoned more light swords "Anyway, get ready.".

"No, really! I can't! Not in the middle of fighting! Not to mention, I don't have any magic!" Asta said.

"I don't mean the last attack I did. I'm saying do the thing before that, idiot." Yami said, pointing his dark-cloaked katana towards Asta.

"Yami, we can't block attacks we can't see!" Midoriya said, powering up his quirk and seeing Yami block another sword without even looking.

"You're both hopeless" Yami said.

"I'll explain it just this once. You'll have to pay me 500 yuls later." He said with a dead serious expression "The reason I've been able to react to the attacks is because of something called "Ki" from back in my homeland.

"Ki? Not mana?" Asta asked

"Yeah" Yami said, still blocking incoming fire "People looking at you, the sound of their breathing, their smell, the motions of their muscles, the vague sense that they're there…Ki is the blanket term for all of the different types of life energy the human body emits.". 'Incredible, if there's such a thing here, people can harness it to fight like that, by reading their opponents!'. "I read that Ki and predicted his next move, the made mine. You've done that before, haven't you?" he gave Asta a look. "When I do it, I combine it with magic and muscle, and fight that way. I guess it's like being a magic swordsman or something."

"Muscles! So that's why your neck's so thick, Captain Yami!" Asta said

"Like you can talk, kid." Yami replied.

Midoriya suddenly noticed something, a portal appeared behind Asta, and soon a dark purple projectile appeared behind Asta, but Midoriya moved Asta out of the way before it could hit. "Be careful, Asta!" Midoriya said.

"That's the way, Kid!" Yami said. "This feeling of something coming is what I'm talking about" he then turned towards the two "Perfect timing. Practice on that scrawny dude with the slanty eyes."

"Huh?! On the scrawny dude with the slanty eyes?" Asta asked "That's too sudden! Of course I can't!"

"Where I come from, we've got this saying…" Yami said, exhaling some smoke "A warrior never goes back on his word. You said you were going to become the Wizard King, didn't you? Surpass your limits. Right here, right now. There's no other way."

"Yes, sir!" Midoriya said "Come on, Asta! Where I come from, we have this saying, "Go beyond, plus ultra!". Midoriya saw Yami give him a suspicious look. ´I slipped up! I forgot I'm supposed to have no memory!'.

"All right! Lets do it, Deku!" Asta said with a second wind, suddenly pumped for the battle.

"Someone with no magic like you could never stop my attacks." Valtos said, launching another attack. Asta attempted to block it, but some of it still hit his leg.

"Wrong" Yami said, kicking Asta "You can't fool me, kid. You just reacted to your ears that time. That ain't Ki. Use all five senses, and sense it with your whole body, you moron!".

"With my whole body?" Asta asked, confused.

"Yeah. You can't just rely on your ears or your eyes. Visualize something halfway between instinct and a prediction. If you don't do it right, I'll kill you!"

Asta closed his eyes, concentrating on sensing Ki, before he suddenly opened his eyes, shouting "You're there!" he struck the projectile, sending it through the portal and back at Valtos.

"Great job, Asta!" Midoriya said.

"I did it, Captain Yami!" Asta said.

"Wow, you actually managed to do it? Talk about creepy, you weirdos." Yami said

"How dare you…Harm Valtos?!" Licht said, turning around with a dark expression "I can't allow people like you to harm my comrades ever again."

"What is up with you!? You are both attacking us?! don't you dare make excuses now, you villain" Midoriya said, angry at the man's weird conviction.

"The path this spell traces resembles the motions of a whip. Can you predict it's movements?" Licht said, strings of light appearing all around him. "It's said that whips were used to punish criminals, once upon a time. That makes it a perfect fit for you lot!" Light Creation Magic: Light Whip of Judgement! The whips struck all around them, and Midoriya, who didn't have a weapon to protect himself, took to whizzing around the cave at incredible speed, avoiding the whip.

"It's useless to struggle!" Licht said, Laughing maniacally as he destroyed large parts of the cave roof with his whip.

"The cave…" Asta said.

"That nutcase has gone ballistic!" Yami said

Large parts of the roof fell upon the two bellow, but Midoriya smashed through the ones headed for them with the power of One for all, protecting the two.

"Oh, dear… I held back most of my magic, but it's all really too fragile… Both this world and you fools" Licht said, feeling victorious. His moment was cut short however, as the dust cleared and he saw the three of them stand upon the rubble.

"If you concentrate like that, you can sense the Ki of natural objects, too. That way, you'll never be killed by stuff like falling rocks" Yami said.

"Ki is awesome! Hooray for Ki!" Asta said "And thank you too, Deku!"

"Now take it up a notch and go after the white-haired dude with the round eyebrows!" Yami said, pointing his sword at Licht.

"Actually, I think I could do that right now." Asta said "All right! Because of my Ki, I'm enthusiastic, energetic, and confident! Hope you're ready, round brows!" Asta said, only to disrupted by a kick from Yami. "Actually, scratch that." Yami said "I told him that I'd show him the power of a captain, so I'll do it. Plus, if you did it, you'd die."

"But then what am I supposed to do with all this extra energy?!" Asta asked

"Asta, we can take that spatial magic user, so he won't intervene." Midoriya said.

"Now, then…" Yami said, getting into a stance, veins popping out of his muscles, and dark magic started covering his body "It's been a while since I've let loose." After that, he charged forward, striking the ground where Licht used to be, demolishing it. 'Now they're both letting loose. Captain Yami sure is amazing.'. but Midoriya saw that every time Yami closed in on Licht, he just relocated, before launching more attacks, and then the cycle begins anew. 'He needs some strategy, but it doesn't seem to concern him for now.´.

"Hey, you were in the middle of some weird story, but that wasn't the end of it, was it?" Yami questioned "That grimoire means you're a citizen of the Clover Kingdom, right? Why attack your own country?" Licht stopped throwing swords, creating a big one of his own and got into a close up battle with Yami, before switching to a whip again. But then, Midoriya saw it, and he knew Yami did too. 'An opening!'. The following strike shattered the ground beneath it. 'What power!'. But unfortunately, it didn't do much.

"Answer me. What's your real goal here?" Yami asked, pointing his sword at Licht.

"Since you're a foreigner, I'm sure you've noticed them, too." Licht said "The distortions in this country. Some are on the brink of death from starvation, but others have so much excess food that they throw it away. People are ranked by how much or how little magic they have, but some have great magic, yet are discriminating against for reasons of birth. Some are hurt in the name of justice because they were born in another country. We were born from these distortions…In order to correct them."

"I'm not seeing the point here. Aren't you trying to do the same thing these distorted people do?" Yami asked "Are you sane?"

"Perfectly sane." Licht answered "Let me answer your sins with sin."

"So you're gonna have it your way, no matter what." Yami said "I like guys like that. But…" he said, leaping into the air, his sword over his air "I hate your guts!" he launched a crescent attack as the fight continued. Their Magics clashed in a fantastic display of dust clouds erupting and rocks shattering. Asta was looking at the spectacle with amazement, staring without saying anything.

"Hey, brats" Yami said, landing next to them and knocking Asta down "What are you staring at, dumbasses. I left that scrawny guy to you. I don't give guys jobs they can't do. Do something about him"

Asta got up from the floor, picking up his swords he charged the Valtos, suddenly pumped. "First, I'll become the guy who beats you!"

"You won't get me twice!" Valtos said, conjuring a spell. Spatial Magic: Myriad Black. The spell opened a whole bunch of portals in the air. "You may be able to see what's coming, but can you block all of these?" the portals appeared next to Asta, and Midoriya, with magic projectiles thrown out of them. 'I could get there with speed, but he will just teleport away, what can we do?' Then, an idea flashed in Midoriya's head. "Asta," Midoriya said quietly to his friend "If we could see when an attack is coming, we'll be able to jump through the portals he made to close the gap quickly and catch him by surprise." He said in a hushed tone, so Valtos won't catch up to what they were planning. Projectiles came at them, but with Ki they were able to avoid them easily.

"This will go on forever. Until you can't move anymore!" Valtos said, continuing the onslaught. "You dared defy Master Licht despite having no magic. You will pay with your life!" Midoriya was able to perfectly avoid all the projectiles, but Asta wasn't doing as good, sometimes getting hit. 'I'll finish this quickly'. Midoriya calmed down, watching Valtos' next move "Asta, Distract him" he said, to which Asta replied by throwing away his weapons, this surprised Valtos, making his movements lag. That was all Midoriya needed, blasting through a portal at incredible speeds, he saw Asta do the same. Asta punched him in the face as Midoriya kicked his back.

"You just decked him in the face! You kids are hilarious!" Yami said, laughing.

"You let your guard down again" Licht said, appearing behind Yami and flicking his whip at him.

"That'd be you." Yami said, as a black orb appeared beside him, absorbing Licht's whip, turning it all black. Dark Magic: Black Hole and then he casted another spell Magic Black: Dark Cloaked Black Blade! Yami struck his blade down upon Licht, this time landing the attack, drawing blood.

"You got me" Licht said "It's probably within five meters. The range is definitely limited, but to think there was a magic that could absorb my own magic and stop me from moving…Dark magic is amazing. The one attribute that's the natural enemy of my light magic. However, dark magic is extremely slow. Light has absolute speed, making them polar opposites there, as well. That's why you cloaked your weapon in darkness and created a combat style that uses reinforcement magic to compensate."

Yami lit another cigarette, exhaling some smoke "Correct!" he said, pointing at Licht "By the way, what's up? You can use recovery magic, can't you?". 'Why is he encouraging the enemy?!'. "But while you're healing yourself, I'm going to get real close and chop you up even more." He said, lifting his sword up, covering it in darkness.

"I'll admit it. You're the second person I've met with the power to defeat me." Licht said "But I sadly cannot waste my time with you." He flipped slowly through his grimoire.

"Huh? What was that, punk?" Yami asked "And whaddaya mean, the second?"

"I still have an ultimate enemy left who inflicted this unhealable wound on me," Licht said lifting up his right hand which was covered in a thick, black glove. "The Wizard King, Julius Novachrono." His grimoire began to glow brightly "This is currently my greatest magic. Speed you cannot avoid…A spell with such a wide range and high output that pulling it in with that spell you used won't do any good. You will meet your end the moment I release this, Captain of the Black Bulls."

"Like hell he will!" Asta exclaimed from behind "Quit underestimating Captain Yami! Your face is stupid"

"Yeah, that's not good. That's some insane magic." Yami said, exhaling some smoke.

"Boy. You will also be punished for hurting Valtos, and return that grimoire." Licht said

"Yami," Midoriya said "What if I interrupt his spell before he can conjure it?"

"I have no idea, unless you can catch him by surprise, it won't do you any good, because he'll just dodge."

"I see," Midoriya said, think hard "Yami, how good is recovery magic?"

"It depends"

"Can it fix a broken arm?" Midoriya asked. Hearing this, Yami gave him a suspicious look "Kid, don't do anything stupi-"

"I'll take that as a yes" Midoriya said, bracing himself for what he was about to do. 'If I miss now, it'll all be for nothing, I can't miss, if Yami can't even stop it… well, according to Yami, he isn't teleporting, he's just moving really fast, so it should work, I only need a second…'. Midoriya activated his quirk One for All: Full Cowl 20%!

"Is this your last resort boy? If even your captain can't do anything about that, what do you think you're going to do?" Licht asked, sounding cocksure of himself. 'Arrogance in a battle will be your downfall, he could hear Aizawa saying in his head'. Midoriya charged forward as fast as his body allowed him.

"Do you just want to be vaporized sooner?" Licht asked, only to be surprised as he noticed blackwhip wrap around him. "Wha-" was all he managed to say. 'This time, I won't miss! I'll take him out in one blow. Blackwhip will hold for only a second at this power output.'. Detroit… Licht face was that of pure surprise and shock Smash!

Even though he was a good distance away from Licht, the air pressure and ensuing shockwaves from Midoriya's punch reached Licht at incredible speed, hitting him and taking a huge chunk of the cave roof with him, the shockwaves were felt all around the cave, and Asta and Yami behind him had to brace themselves. That came first, then came the cry of pain from Midoriya. His arm was broken, swollen, and bleeding, with half his shirt missing, revealing his muscles.

"What's up with that power?" Yami asked.

"Deku, that was amazing! Why didn't you do it earlier?" Asta asked. His question answered when he saw Midoriya's arm. "Wh-What happened! Did he hit you?!" Asta ran up to check on Midoriya.

"No," Midoriya said "I can't really control this power. When I go over my limit, well, this happens."

"I see" Yami said, exhaling some smoke.

"Izuku!" he heard Finral say behind them.

"Brat!" Gauche said called out after seeing him, running up to them.

"Well, it doesn't seem like he dodged that, good work, Kid!" Yami said "Way to steal all the glory, jerk!" Yami laughed "As for you two, good to see you came back!" he turned towards Gauche and Finral.

"Mr. Finral! You have to get Midoriya to a recovery mage!" Asta said

"I-I can't. I told Gauche earlier that I had enough magic to use my portal one more time, I can't teleport away. I have to recover my magic first, just wait a little. Sorry." Finral said.

"It's ok, Finral" Midoriya said, reassuring his comrade.

"Tch" Gauche and Yami said at the same time.

"Honestly…You're so useless" Yami said.

"I-It's ok, Yami" Midoriya said "I can wait a little"

Hearing this, Yami didn't respond. Instead he walked up to the incapacitated Licht, with everyone following suit. "Looks like you did quite a number on him" Yami said.

To Midoriya's surprise, Licht was still conscious, looking at Gauche, he spoke "I couldn't …risk hurting you…"

"What are you talking about?" Gauche asked, clearly confused.

"What? You know him? Sorry I beat the crap out of him." Yami said.

"Of course I don't know this bastard." Gauche answered. 'Well, it does seem like he knows Gauche…'.

"you'll understand eventually…" Licht said.

"Yeah, I don't get it at all, but we're going to take you back to Magic Knights Headquarters." Yami said "You'll spill everything there is to know about the Eye of the Midnight Sun there. Now that Hot-blooded King of Hardnoses has been avenged. May he rest in peace." Yami said, putting his hands together as if he was praying.

"Captain Yami, he isn't dead yet" Midoriya said.

"Oh, quit sweatin' the minor details." Yami replied "Now, then. Let's see, Dark Binding Magic… Yami flipped through his grimoire "Where was it again? Oh, there it is." Dark Restraints. Dark tendrils appeared from the grimoire, binding both Licht and Valtos. After restraining them, they all went to sit on a rock sheet, waiting for Finral's magic to recharge.

"Hey, you ready yet?" Yami asked, annoyed.

"Please wait a little longer." Finral replied "I used a lot of magic. It's not going to recover that quickly."

"Tch"

"Tch, tch, tch, tch! Don't let it bother you." Yami said

"Of course it does!" Finral responded.

"Stop making Marie wait." Gauche said.

"I didn't get any extra magic, unlike you!"

"Hang on… The longer we wait, the happier she might be to see me." Gauche's nose bled thinking of his sister "I guess I wouldn't mind that, either."

"Wouldn't mind what?" Asta asked.

"I'm not telling you a single thing about Marie!" Gauche answered "Anyone who gets close to Marie is my enemy!"

Yami's stomach rumbled "Man, I'm starving. Can't you at least bring me some breakfast with your spatial magic?" he asked.

"I'm not a delivery service"

"Tch"

Suddenly, everyone but Midoriya and Asta perked up, as if sensing something. "What's wrong?" Midoriya asked, seeing the three get up, Asta and Midoriya getting up seeing them.

"This mana…" Yami said. 'So they're sensing mana, I see. I wonder what's wrong though.'.

Midoriya's question was answered soon enough, when he saw a portal open up in the cave. Three people appeared out of it.

One is a young man with a red tattoo on his left cheek and patches of white hair in his messy black hair, wearing a white robe of the Eye if the Midnight Sun, blue clothes with a red belt, a turquoise scarf and his grimoire pouch. Another one is a very tall and muscular man with long blond hair and a blond beard with sharp teeth. A red tattoo crosses horizontally under his eyes and over the bridge of his nose. He has a rather beast-like appearance. His normal outfit consists of a short-sleeved vest, light-colored pants, and a pair of sandals. Lastly a slim young girl with a serious expression. She has thick, wavy, pink hair that falls just below her shoulders, and large sea-green eyes. In the center of her forehead is a purple, multi-faceted stone that is framed by a red tattoo. She wears a high collared, furry maroon dress beneath the standard light hooded robe of her group, with open-toed, knee-high boots. She also carries a pouch with her that is strapped around her shoulder.

"Who the heck are those guys?" Finral asked

"Looks like reinforcement" Yami answered

"Spatial magic…but that guy's passed out…So why?" Asta questioned.

"Well, this definitely doesn't look good." The black-haired man said "Looks like Licht and Val are in a bit of trouble. I'm usually pretty lazy, but…" He yawned "I gotta save my friends.". he then disappeared in the same manner as Licht, appearing before Yami and touching his grimoire. "Hey, that's a unique design. Not that it really matters…". Yami didn't wait, unleashing a dark slash at the man, managing to scratch his arm. "Ow! Man, you're annoying." He said "but this should be easy to fix, so whatever." Light Magic: Healing Light Particles. 'He can use the same powers as Licht!'

"That magic…It's the same as Round Eyebrows'!" Asta said in surprise.

Looking behind the two men, Midoriya saw the girl stand next to Licht, flipping through the pages of an awfully familiar grimoire. 'I swear it's just like that pale guy's grimoire!'. Flame Recovery Magic: Phoenix Robe. The spells undid Yami's restraints, lifting Licht into the air as his surroundings burst into flame.

"I have nothing to worry about now that you're here." Licht said

"Huh? Who do you think you are?" Gauche asked, angry

The black-haired man yawned "Licht…It's a pain in the butt if you try to shoulder everything yourself."

"How dare you insects do that to my comrades?" asked the beast-looking man "Unforgivable. I'll stomp you like ants and rip you apart like I'm ripping the wings off a butterfly!"

"I hate those who have hurt Licht." The girl said, staring at them with her blank, creepy look.

"Who are these guys?" Asta asked

"Allow me to introduce them. They are the strongest three in the Eye of the Midnight Sun."

"The strongest…?"

"Yes… In combat, they surpass me. The Third Eye." Licht answered. 'We can't defeat people like that with the manpower we have, and I'm injured, too…'.

"They're more powerful than you?"

"Third Eye, eh?"

"He has to be bluffing when he says they're stronger than him."

"It's too much trouble to bluff." The black-haired man said, yawning.

"Just as the name suggests, your Kingdom takes the clover as its symbol. Within the clover's leaves are pleasant words that do not suit you. Namely: faith, hope, and love. I've given them names that mean the opposite of those. With a name meaning the opposite of faith, Raia the Disloyal" Licht referred to the black-haired man, who was now yawning. "With a name meaning the opposite of hope, Vetto the Despair." This time he referred to the beast-looking man, who cracked his knuckles. "And with a name meaning the opposite of love, Fana the Hateful" this time he referred to the girl, who just stared at them and said "I will kill those who have hurt Licht. I will kill you."

"Disloyal, Despair, and Hateful" Finral repeated.

"Those names sound grand and all, but your names aren't enough to tell us how strong you are." Yami said. 'Why is he provoking them?! If they really are that strong, we won't last long, since we are all exhausted!'.

"Well, I guess we'll just have to prove it to you, even though it's a pain in the butt." The black-haired man, Raia, said, raising up a dark katana. 'Now he's using the same magic as Yami's?! is this his power? To copy powers? If so, that explains the portal…'.

"Wha-"

"That's…"

"The same as Captain Yami's!"

Raia then moved closer using light magic, before pulling out the black Katana, preparing to strike. Copy Magic: Dark Cloaked Lightless Slash. Shooting out a crescent attack like Yami's.

"Raia the Disloyal, was it? Don't go ripping off people's magic! I'm gonna sue you for copyright infringement!" Yami said, shooting out a similar attack, with both attacks canceling each other out.

"Yami!" Finral called out as he saw Vetto go on the offensive.

"Pay attention!" Vetto said Beast Magic: Bear Claw! He smashed his magic coated arm into the ground where they were standing, forcing them to dodge away. Asta pulled out his sword, ready to fight.

"Stupid mosquitoes and dragonflies!" Vetto yelled as he charged them again. Yami attacked him from the side, but he managed to dodge. He and Yami proceeded to trade blows, the beast-looking man using his magic coated arms as a weapon. Yami blocked with his sword until it gave up, breaking in half. "Now…Let me see the despair in your faces, little mice." Vetto said with a creepy, animal-like smile, his mouth full of sharp teeth. "That makes you taste the best!". 'What is wrong with that guy!?'.

"You bastard! This Katana was costume-made and crazy expensive! You better pay for that!" Yami yelled at the man, before examining his Katana "Tch…I haven't even finished paying this thing off." Yami was interrupted, and Midoriya could see a giant fireball head his way.

"I hate you...I'll never forgive you. I'll kill you." The creepy girl said, but now Midoriya could notice a small dragon on her shoulder.

"Fana the Hateful, was it? Nobody likes hysterical chicks, you know." Yami said, before noticing a burn on his arm.

"Now then…" Raia said

"Hope you're ready." Vetto added

"I'll return Licht's pain hundreds of times over." The creepy girl announced.

"You guys stay put." Yami said, leaving them inside a black cocoon.

Midoriya saw the battle, they were rapidly attacking him, leaving no room to breathe, and slowly, Yami accumulated injuries.

"Captain!" Asta called out, but it was futile. "Captain Yami I'll-"

"I told you to stay put!" Yami yelled back "What? Are you worried about me? You're a thousands..No, a million years too early for that! Just sit tight and watch! Watch me surpass my limits, right here and now!"

"As expected, you won't go down easily. But you're wasting your time. Each of them is stronger than a Magic Knight Captain." Licht said calmly, completely sure they will win.

"I think it's about time we end this." Raia said.

"Die" Fana said. Spirit Magic: Salamander's Breath. The dragon on her should spewed out another large fire attack towards Yami, Raia launched a black crescent attack and Vetto a claw.

"Captain!" Everyone cried out.

But, suddenly, three other magics came out of nowhere, blocking the incoming attacks. Out of the smoke, three forms appeared. 'The captains!'. The captains of the Blue Rose Knights, Silver Eagles and Green Praying Mantis.

"Looks like you're having fun, Yami." Jack the Ripper, Captain of the Green Praying Mantis said "Let us play, too. Stronger than a Magic Knight Captain? Why don't we test out that theory?" he said, licking his magic blade.

"Aw, man… Another second or two, and something would've awakened in me. What're you gonna do about this, you lousy so-called friends?" Yami said. 'What are you talking about?! They just saved you!'.

"I'm amazed you can even say those words when you look like that. I'm going to execute you myself someday, so be ready and wait, foreigner." Nozel, Captain of the Silver Eagles said.

"Look who's talking. You and your stupid haircut" Yami replied.

"Honestly, how pathetic are you that you actually have to rely on us?" Charlotte, Captain of the Blue Rose Knights.

"Man, harsh as always, I see." Yami responded.

"It can't be…" Asta said.

"Who are those guys?" Gauche asked.

"What?! They're Magic Knight Captains!" Finral said. 'How can he not know who they are?'. "You need to show more interest if you're a Magic Knight!"

"I only care about Marie" Gauche answered. 'Of course you do'.

"I'm surprised you even know my name, then." Finral said "The captain of the Green Praying Mantises, Jack the Ripper, who uses severing magic. He's super sadistic, has a destruction fetish, and likes to brag whenever he cuts anything and everything." Meanwhile, Jack had his super long tongue out. "Apparently he cut down a mountain after a squabble with Yami." He then continued over to Nozel "The warhorse, the royal captain of the Silver Eagles, Nozel Silva. Just look at his sparkly aura. Man, is he hot!" then his voice jumped up a few octaves "The captain of the Blue Rose Knights, the cool and beautiful Charlotte Roselei!".

"You're excited all of a sudden?!" Asta asked.

"She's so beautiful! I want to get closer to her!" Finral said with a blush.

"Now, then, let's get things started. I'll chop you all up." Jack declared

"The Eye of the Midnight Sun…" Charlotte said

"We have plenty of questions for you." Nozel finished.

"Reinforcements, eh?" Vetto said, a smile still plastered on his face.

"Hey, no fair, Yami. You were hogging these fun-looking enemies all to yourself." Jack said, his tongue hanging out of his mouth "Well? Are they worth slicing up?"

"Nope, not at all" Yami answered "They're pretty much like paper. I was just about to finish them off when you butted in, you jerk."

Jack let out a weird laugh at that "Yeah, right. Look how beat up you are. Not even talking about the kid back there." Jack said.

"Beat up? Who are you talking about?"

"Actually, why don't I use this opportunity to slice you up, too?" Jack asked "Vent all of my past grudges"

"And there he goes. What an idiot." Yami said, to which jack pointed his blade at Yami "I'm sorry, please spare me."

"you moron. Like I actually would. I'll only do it when you're in tip-top shape. Otherwise, there's no point." Jack said.

"How long are you just going to sit there?" Charlotte asked "You're so pathetic for a man."

"You idiot. The ground just loves me so much, it won't let my ass go." Yami answered.

"You're the idiot." She replied "There's no way the ground would love an outlaw like you."

"Talk about harsh. You're never going to find a guy who'll marry you with that attitude." Yami said, and in an instant was ensnared in Charlotte's magic vines. "I Don't need to marry anyone! The battlefield is my partner!" Charlotte said.

"The battlefield's your partner? That's sad." Yami said.

"The Eye of the Midnight Sun…" Nozel spoke up "It's leader and top brass…The top brass of the traitors who attacked our country are all in a row. What a perfect opportunity. I'll bury them with my own hands."

"Wow, you're so cool." Yami said.

"Begone from my sight, foreigner."

"Thanks for your consideration, Mr. Ball o' Pride." Yami said "Hey, I wonder how he gets his hair like that.". 'Is it really a priority with the enemy just standing over there?!'.

"Huh? Doesn't he just get one of his servants to do it, since he's royalty?" Asta asked.

"I'm sure he's got his own hair stylist." Finral said.

"He actually has someone do it for him? But it's so lame!" Yami said.

"Wait, so he does that braid himself?" Asta asked.

"That's pretty gross, too" Yami said.

"Shall I bury you lot first?" Nozel asked

"Nah, don't waste your magic on a foreigner." Yami replied.

"I shall not hold back" Nozel declared.

"I'm getting fired up!" Asta said, readying his swords for battle "I can still fight, too!"

"Stay out of this, pond scum." Nozel said "When the captains are on the battlefield, Mediocre combatants will only slow us down. Especially a lowly peasant with no magic like yourself."

"Very well! True despair lies at the end of an endless battle!" Vetto said, cracking his knuckles "And the despair of the strongest fighters is the ultimate spice!"

"What the hell is he talking about?" Yami asked.

"We're hunting some rats. Let's go." Vetto declared

"You seem pretty excited, Vetto. What a pain." Raia said, Yawning again, and raising up his black katana. "Well, whatever. I guess I'll do my best for Licht." He then charged forward, heading towards Charlotte "Right, so I call dibs on that pretty lady! If I win, we're going drinking together!" he flashed her a smile.

"If you win? In that case, we'll never raise glasses together." Charlotte said. Briar Creation Magic: Corpse-Hunting Briar Trees! Vines launched after Raia, and he cut them down before dodging away as more came.

Meanwhile, Vetto went for Jack, and they brawled for a bit, blocking each other's attacks with their magic. Severing Magic: Death Scythe! Jack launched an attack at Vetto, cutting the ground where he was standing a moment ago. "You get to fight me, big guy!".

"Oh? The Praying Mantis Knight." Vetto said "You dare fight me, insect?"

"Don't underestimate insects!" Jack announced as he laughed, charging Vetto.

"You're just a praying mantis!" Vetto said, covering himself in an orange aura "I'll tear off your limbs and wings while you're still alive!". He said, charging at Jack.

"The one I have business with is you." Nozel said, launching a spell at a recovering Licht. Mercury Magic: Silver Spears! The attack, however, was stopped, by Fana, who melted it completely with her dragon's attack. "You want to hurt Licht, too?" she asked "I hate you. Die."

"Her flames melted your mercury!" Jack laughed "Want me to switch with you sparkles?"

"Shut your mouth." Nozel said "As if flames like those could hurt me. Just who do you think I spent years competing with?!" Nozel then launched another barrage of spears, and Fana's dragon let out another attack as well.

After that, all captains were busy in their fight, stirring up a giant dust cloud that obscured the view of their fight. "What?!" Asta asked, amazed at the sight. "What is this? They're practically a natural disaster!" Finral said. "I can't see through all this dust!" Gauche said, shielding himself from the dust flying their way.

"Wow, they're working hard. Hey, that's cutting it a little close, Jack. Not bad, Charlotte. I'm surprised Nozel's braid stays in place."

"You can see them? Midoriya asked, confused.

"I'm using Ki. Try it, even if you can't see them." Yami said "Hey, Finral. You've recovered enough spatial magic for one trip, haven't you?"

"We're going home? Yes, let's!" Finral replied "Let's let them handle this and-" he was cut off when Yami laughed. He instructed Finral to open a portal above Licht, instead. Yami jumped down, sword down, ready to strike. But instead, the fire around Licht stopped, and he was prepared to unleash an attack at Yami. But to everyone's surprise, Asta leaped through the dust cloud on Licht's flank, ready to strike. "Not giving up…" Asta said, as Licht abandoned his attack on Yami, not knowing what to do.

"Thanks for believing I'd take a shot at you." Yami said "I believed in out no-magic idiot!"

"…is my magic!" Asta yelled, striking Licht with his heavy sword, right into Yami's striking distance. And Yami promptly brought his dark blade on Licht, knocking him to the ground, created a giant dust cloud. "How'd you like that? No magic in that attack!" Asta said, before Yami suddenly sat on top of him "Same with my attack. You surpassed your limits, kid."

"Right!"

"Licht!" All members of the Third Eye cried out.

"There won't be any other reinforcements, will there?" Yami asked

"What? No way!" Asta said.

"Let's finish him off while the others are being held up!" Finral spoke up.

"Yeah" Yami replied. And then, suddenly, the unconscious Licht started glowing brightly.

"What?"

"What is that?"

"Why? Why do you have that grimoire?" The now awake Licht asked Asta "Why do you…have the Demon-slayer sword and the Demon-dweller sword? These swords belong to the master!"

"All this about getting something back, or something belonging to the master…" Asta said "What the heck are you even talking about? This crappy grimoire and these crappy swords belong to me! Stop making false accusations, you crazy bastard!"

"No…Give them back." Licht said "That grimoire is…Our master's grimoire and swords…A human like you shouldn't have them."

"Well, this isn't good." Yami said "Hey kid," he turned to Midoriya "Is there any chance you can do this thing again?".

"Captain Yami!" Asta said "Don't tell him to do ridiculous things!"

"What is this magic?" Finral asked "We're finished. His power was actually restricted before?" he then screamed hysterically "I knew I shouldn't have come! Actually, I wish I'd never even joined this squad!"

"Hey, quit your complaining." Yami said "This is actually our chance. If we defeat him and this power, we'll leave our limits in the dust!"

"All right!" Asta said, readying his sword.

"Ummm…Mr. Finral…Can you open a portal?" Midoriya asked.

"No! Don't you think I would have done it by now?!" Finral said "You're all nuts!"

"Hey! Don't you dare give up, Finral!" Gauche said, grabbing him by the collar.

Then, Midoriya noticed the Third Eye gather around Licht, glowing in an orange aura Trinity Sealing Magic! After sealing Licht, Raia quickly appeared behind them, picking up an unconscious Valtos. "Let's go, Vallie" he said, going back to the two others, he opened a portal, swallowing all of them whole.

"Our boss isn't feeling too good, so we're gonna head home for today." Raia said.

"We lost this time. But the next time we meet, I'll show you what true despair is!" Vetto declared "Rodents will fall prey to the carnivores."

"And that will be the end of you." Fana added.

"We, the Eye of the Midnight sun, are always watching you."

And then, they disappeared. And so did Midoriya's strength. "Deku!" Asta said, catching a falling Midoriya.

"I did want to ask, what happened to him?" Charlotte asked.

"His power happened." Yami answered.

And slowly, his eyes closed, and he blacked out.

Todoroki's P.O.V

---

Todoroki felt pretty useless just doing nothing every day, that's it was a refreshing change of pace to help in attack some foreign army, but, other than that, he wanted to do more, and be with his long-lost friends. The Wizard King has told both him and Yaoyorozu that they won't be able to join a squad just yet, because some the captains have their doubts. 'So what? I don't care what they think of us.'.

His train of thought was cut off by a knock on his door. "Todoroki, I have a message for you" he heard Marx say from outside. He got up from his bed and opened the door. after greeting Marx, the latter spoke, "It is finally time. Gather your friend and go to the Meeting room I showed you, be there on time." He then walked off.

"Thank you, Marx." Todoroki spoke up "You took good care of us, so thank you.". at that, Marx nodded and walked away. Todoroki walked to the desk in his room, picking up his hero suit that got back from the laundry and put it on instead of the clothes he was loaned. Going to Yaoyorozu's room, he knocked on the door. "Yaoyorozu-" he was cut off when she opened the door wide open, inside, he saw an angry Bakugo on the floor, trying to meditate like Yaoyorozu did. "What it is Todoroki?" She asked.

"We finally got summoned, Marx says it's time." He answered.

A smile appeared on her face. She then looked at Todoroki, seeing him wearing his hero suit, she decided to switch into hers as well, kicking Bakugo out of the room and telling Todoroki while Bakugo walked of else to continue his meditating training. When she finally finished, she came out of the room, wearing her hero costume and her cape.

"Let's go" she said, and they both headed off. They head to a certain tower in the castle, reaching the golden doors, they halted, hearing voices from inside. 'They're already here? I hoped to get here before them'.

"Man, the gleam on a new Katana is something else" A man said inside. "Sucks that I'll be making payments on it for then years, though. Anyway, calm down, original Scrawny Line-Face Guy. What Garbledre is saying is the truth."

"It's Gueldre" Another man said

"You're the last person I want to hear that from, No-Stars Yami." A man said.

"Whatever. I've got plenty of black stars." The first man replied.

"Those are negative stars! Why are you proud of that?"

Shoto froze, not knowing what to do. He didn't expect this to go like that.

"Silence, you foreigner and former peasant."

"What was that, Mister Royalty? Do you want to join in?"

"How stupid. We're getting nowhere because of you noisy men." A woman spoke up.

"I guess they haven't decided on a temporary captain for the Crimson Lion Kings yet. If Fuegoleon was here, he'd pull things together really well, but…" A young-sounding man said, and after that, the room seemed to have gone silent. 'Well, a better time than ever'. Shoto pushed the door opened, taking two steps into the room, with Yaoyorozu standing right behind him. And suddenly, everyone around the table had their look on the two, and Todoroki could swear Yaoyorozu shrunk behind me as the pressure was moved onto them. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, someone spoke up, a black-haired man, who was holding a Katana in his hand "So, you finally decided to come in?"

"We didn't want to disturb your chat" Todoroki answered.

The man burst into laughter "I like you!" he said, cleaning his Katana.

"So, what are we supposed to do? I believe we were sent here for a reason" Yaoyorozu spoke up.

"You were called here because some of us were doubting this unorthodox recruitment into the magic knights. You see, every year, an exam is held to get into the brigades, but this year's exam has already passed." A guy with silver hair and a braid in front of his face said "Yami has taken responsibility to take you into his squad, but I believe your skills can be used in another squad."

"Hey! I called dibs, Mister Royalty!" the black-haired man said.

"Shut up, foreigner." The silver-haired man replied.

"Actually, what are your powers?" Asked a scrawny man with a green robe. "I heard some great things about you, Kid!"

"Well…I can make both fire and ice, that's about it. And she…" Todoroki said.

"I can make anything, as long as I know what it's made off" Yaoyorozu said, and to show them, she walked up to the table, first pulling out a Glass filled with water, then a simple sword, a brick, and some sand.

"Hmm…that doesn't seem very good for combat" The scrawny man pointed out.

"Of course, if I want to fight, I use this" Yaoyorozu said, a blade coming out her arm and reaching the ceiling, piercing it.

"Anything else?" Todoroki asked.

"No, I think that would be enough. After all, Yami is no stranger to unorthodox recruitment" A blond girl with a helmet on said. And with that, they both left the room, leaving the captains inside.

"Todoroki, how did you think we did?" Yaoyorozu asked.
