Chapter 82: Ko vs Fink
The following day, Rad was stocking a magazine shelf while Nebula was organizing the back. He stopped when he saw one of the articles catch his eye. He then heard Nebula humming softly and the sounds of her heeled boots on the floor coming to the front of the store. "Her babe, check this out!" he said and he leviatated her over before she could wall over to him. "Huh, Joe Cuppa's getting another comedy special on tv and there's gonna be a movie about his life story. Cool. We should see them when they come out" she commented as she looked at the cover. "Not that one, the one below it" Rad said. "Chip Damage no more. Kinda a good thing too. His tiny hands were freaking me out" she commented. "The other one below it" he responded
"Are you and your partner compatible? Take the quiz and find out what you need to be the perfect couple. Rad, we're already a great couple. We're inseparable, we know everything about each other, and most importantly, we love each other" she said as Rad opened the magazine and turned to the article. "Hey babes, I don't think we've ever done our hobbies with each other" he pointed out. "We've done mine. A lot. We even did it this morning when we got to the plaza" Nebula said with a wink. "No we didn't. All we did was-oooh" he said as he realized what she was referring to. "That's not a hobby" he stated and she shrugged. "Say what you want, I on the other hand think that it's one of my favorite hobbies. Besides, we are both on social media. Other than that, hanging with the girls is my thing. I mean we could go on a large group date with Prohyas, his girlfriend, and their couple friends. We could embroider together I suppose" she suggested. He then looked around and dragged her into the back. "Then what if I taught you how to knit and do yoga?" he asked once he was sure that no one was around. "That would be amazing!" she said excitedly and she hugged him.
The day was a rather quiet day so Rad began to teach Nebula how to do yoga while there were no customers while Enid choose to sit on the counter on her phone. "Warrior one" he said as he stood with one leg out to the side, the other knee bent, and his arms were extended above his head. "And exhale" he then exhaled and Nebula copied him. "Warrior two" he instructed as he moved his arms down and out to the side so that they were parallel to each other and the floor. "Good. Now, Reverse warrior" he instructed and he put one hand in his extended leg and leaned his torso a bit and the other arm was stretched towards the ceiling and once again, Nebula copied him. "Hi Enid! Hi Nebula! Hi Rad!" Ko greeted as he entered the store. "Hey Ko" The three greeted in unison. "I wonder who it could be this time" Nebula groaned as an alarm blared. They looked outside to see a box opening to reveal Fink. "Not her again. Do me a favor and don't stop me from destroying her" Nebula sighed out as she rubbed her temples, remembering the previous fights with her. "Bodega men! Come out and play-y-y" Fink called. "You guys sit back. I'll take care of this myself" Ko said and he went out to fight Fink. Enid and Rad retreated back inside and the alien male had to levitate his girlfriend inside. "Don't worry. Ko will be fine" he said. Nebula sighed and watched as Fink was taunting Ko. She then activated a device that caused her to go turbo. "See? You can't do anything without your mama" Fink said and Nebula stormed out of the store.
"Look who's talking Daddy's girl! You can't even to turbo without that device that your daddy made you. At least Ko can go Turbo by himself. And you must be pretty desperate for real friends since you choose to come here instead of playing with the Boxmore bots" Nebula jeered as Ko kicked Fink off of him, for the device she was using had run out of glorbs to use for energy. "I'll be back to play again later, Momma's boy" Fink taunted and she started to scurry off back to Voxmore. "You get back here Fink!" Ko yelled as he began to chase after her. Fink laughed as she used her tail to knock the special cupcake that Ko's mom made him onto the ground. "Looks like your little snackie got ruined. Why don't you go cry to your mommy?" she taunted. Nebula narrowed her eyes and she walked over to Fink, ripped the device off of her back, threw it on the ground, and stomped her foot on it to destroy it. "Oh look, your toy is broken. Why don't you go cry to your daddy?" Nebula taunted darkly. Fink let out a growl and she hurried back into Voxmore, and tripping on the way there.
"My lil' cake" Ko said sadly as he picked up the ruined cupcake. "I'm sure your mom made more for you. Or she can always make more" Nebula reassured as she kneeled down to his level and put a hand on his back. "Why did she do that?" he asked angrily. "Cause she's one of the bad guys. They're supposed to be mean! I'm sure you've heard all the bad things she and the Boxmore bolt for brains call me. As I said, they're the bad guys, they're not meant to be nice" she said. Ko went silent as he thought of what Fink was saying to him. Nebula saw him starting to get upset and she let out a sigh as she picked him up. "She's not worth it Ko" she said as Ko struggled to get free while brought him back into the store.
"Chaturanga" Rad said as he had his hands on the floor with his legs pointed directly out behind him. "You continued without me?" Nebula said acting hut by his actions as she put Ko down. "Baby Cobra" he said as he rained his upper body up a bit. "Downward Dog" he said calmly as he arched his body. Nebula sighed falsely and she copied him, only to lose her balance and roll forward. Rad stood back up and raised his arms up as Ko took out the trash. "Fink all taken care of?" He asked as Ko walked out the doors. "I don't think he wants to talk about it" Nebula said as she took off her boots and put her palms together. Enid and Rad stared at her in confusion as she put one foot on the inside of her other leg. "What? It's the tree pose? I saw you doing it the other night with your mom, Rad" Nebula explained.
Later that day the alarm blared just as Nebula and Rad were doing a pose together where they relied on each other to stay balanced. The sudden noise caused them to lose their concentration and fall into each other. Nebula went outside to see Ko telling Fink how her words earlier hurt his feelings and that she needed to apologize. Fink then moved her hair to reveal a new device with more glorbs than last time. "Make me boy scout! Unless you need mommy's permission to pway wiv me again" she taunted. Nebula took a step towards her and Ko put an arm out. "This is my fight. Please let me handle it" he said. "Okay. Call if you need me" Nebula said and she went back inside. "Ready to try that again?" he asked and they resumed the pose from before Fink had interrupted them. Nebula heard a thud so she ran outside and hit from sight. She silently gasped as she heard an extremely familiar voice telling Ko to get angrier.
"I thought he was done for back in New York" Nebula thought to herself. She then checked her social media to see recent pictures of Laserblast and his family. "This was from a few minutes ago… Then who or what is this one?" she wondered and she snuck inside. "Babe?" Rad questioned as she hurriedly walked past him. "Sorry hun. We can continue later. I have something I need to do" she said quickly and she disappeared into the back. "It's me. I don't know who, or why, or even how, but I think he's back. I heard what sounded like Shadowy Figure talking to Ko and telling him to basically go turbo. I'll get the security footage and audio when I can to double check if it really was him" she said into her phone.
"Alright. Thank you for the update. Please keep an eye on him and Ko especially. I'll warn Director Elodie. Be sure to warn Mr. Gar and tell him to be discreet about it. We don't want to alarm anyone" Bianca's voice was heard from the device. "Got it. I'll send you the video and audio soon" Nebula said before she hung up. She walked back into the front of the store and when Rad gave her a worried look, she waved her hand to signal him that everything was fine and to dismiss what he was thinking. "Enid! Nebula! Rad! I need your help!" Ko called and the trio rushed outside. "We're on it buddy!" They said in unison and they attacked Fink. Enid went back to Ko while Nebula then got two brooms from inside as Rad was levitating her. Ko then told them what Fink was calling him. "What's wrong with that?" Rad asked as he took a broom from Nebula and they began to hit Fink with them. "Yeah. Carol's a really cool lady" Enid commented. "Then my did Fink say all that stuff?" Ko asked. "I told you, because she's on the side of evil. She's supposed to be mean" Nebula explained. Fink then tackled Rad to the ground and she was biting his leg.
Nebula then began to kick Fink in the head with the sole part of her boot. "Get your grubby teeth off of my boyfriend's leg you grotesque rodent!" She growled as she kicked her harder. Nebula then ran into the store and got out a spray bottle filled with water. "Off!" She commanded as she sprayed Fink. The rodent child released Rad's leg to let out a hiss. "Bad Fink!" Nebula said as she chased after her while continuing to spray water at her. "Bad! Go back to Voxmore" she said as she stopped running to spray at Fink.
"If I told you that you were a momma's boy because you're strong like her and you love each other, does that sound bad" Enid asked. "She's right Ko. I mean, If I ever became a mom, I would want my child or children to be happy that they were my kids. You mom is strong, kind, patient, and overall incredible. Aren't you proud to be her son?" Nebula asked. "It's not if, it's when" Enid commented as she glanced at Rad smugly as Nebula was using her ice to heal his leg. "Besides, Rad's a momma's boy" she commented. "Yeah! Being a momma's boy isn't bad. You're lucky to have a mom who loves you a lot and takes care of you" Rad said. "And she also kicks major butt" Enid stated and the blue couple nodded in agreement.
"But I thought that I was supposed to show bullies how angry and hurt they made me" Ko said. "If you do then you're only stooping down to their level. You need to be the better person and let them see and know that you aren't phased and that you won't let them bully you anymore" Nebula said. "She's right you know and just where did you ever get an idea like that Ko?" Enid asked. "Yeah dude, the only way to fight back is to talk to people you trust" Rad started as he put an arm around Nebula. "That loves you as much as you do" Nebula chimed in as she put an arm around Enid's shoulders and Rad's torso. "that'll remind you to keep loving yourself the way you are" Rad and Nebula said in unison. "Yeah! Thanks guys! I love my mommy!" Ko said happily.
"Blech! You guys gross me out!" Fink said in disgust. "That's just fine by us. Right guys?" Ko said and the other heroes agreed with him. Nebula then lifted Ko with one hand and the other hand was supporting Rad's foot while he and Enid formed the top of the heart. "Bodega love formation complete!" Ko said. "Is that supposed to intimidate me or something?" Fink asked as they began to glow. "We don't intimidate, we appreciate!" Ko responded. "Love beam!" They said in unison and a large heart beam was fired at Fink and it sent her flying into Voxmore.
"Hey kiddo, ready to go home?" Carol greeted as she walked up to them. The four heroes then hugged her and Carol froze up in shock. "Ko, that's gotten into you?" she asked. "I just want you to know that I'm so proud to be a mommy's boy and that I'll be one for life!" Ko explained. "Well shucks, aren't you precious. Thanks kiddo! And you guys, what's your deal?" she asked as Nebula began to pet her hair. "Oh we just shot a love beam and are now filled with residual emotions" Enid explained. "Yeah. We love you Ms. Carol ma'am" Rad said. "And we always will" Nebula said as she sighed happily. "I see. I love you guys too" she said and they all hugged her tighter. "Now let's get you guys home" she said and she carried them to their respective houses.
That night, Nebula and Rad hugged Theodosia and Rad told her how much he loved her and that he was glad to be her son. "Aren't you two sweet" she cooed when they presented her with a ray gun with "Universe's Greatest Mom" engraved on it. Before Nebula went to sleep, she sent Bianca a text saying how she likes being her creation and how she is glad that she was created for good and not evil. She also told her how she appreciated her and she could already see her smile when she saw that she read the text. "You good?" Rad asked as he got onto his bed. She nodded and put her phone in its charger. "Yeah, I'm good" she said as she cuddled up to Rad and fell asleep in his arms
