Chapter 85: The True Power Of Love (Or So They Think)
The weeks passed and Nebula would attack the heroes. Each time they would have their share of bruises but they would constantly try to defeat her and defend the plaza without seriously harming Nebula. The trio was currently with Mr. Gar in his office trying to come up with a plan on how to get her back to normal.
"This is quite a predicament..." Mr. Gar said. "But how did they get their grubby hands on her?" Rad asked angrily. "Let's see…" Mr. Gar then pulled up the security footage from when she was kidnapped.
The video showed Nebula on her phone in the video surveillance room. She ended her phone call and Raymond's figure appeared out of the shadows and threw a sack over her. He laughed evilly and the sack with her in it was constantly knocked into his body and nearby objects.
Mr. Gar stopped the video and Rad punched a nearby wall. "You guys get back to work, I'll review all of the footage to see if there is anything we can use to get her back to her normal self" he said. The trio nodded and went back to their usual tasks. Rad kept looking out the window and staring at Voxmore. Ko approached him and put a hand on his leg. "Don't worry Rad, we'll get her back. I'm sure we will" Ko said. "I sure hope so Ko" Rad said with a sigh. An hour later, Mr. Gar called the trio into his office.
"Bodegamen, do you remember the other day when the large delivery truck was blasted at her?" Mr. Gar then played the video for them. "Looks like she can't freeze really large objects" Enid commented. "Now that I think about it, whenever she gets tossed into a building or a tree, she passes out" Rad said. "What are her other weaknesses?" Mr. Gar asked and Ko pulled up her social media.
"Let's see… she hates having her phone taken away" Rad said and everyone looked to her phone that was on a small display in Mr. Gar's office. "She hates Voxmore, seeing us fight, other girls flirting with Rad" Ko read. "She isn't really herself so if let's say Enid was to flirt with him, she wouldn't react like she normally would" Mr. Gar said. They all went quiet and they turned to Rad.
"Well, she does hate being alone… She doesn't like thunder, small spaces, maybe needles" Rad said. "What about things that will trigger a reaction out of her?" a voice asked. They turned to the voice to see Bianca and Azra. "Sorry for arriving late, I was on a mission" Bianca said. "What we need is to find a way to find something that she will react to out of instinct. Is there anything she will react to in her sleep or when she is not expecting anything?" Azra asked.
"Let's see… she's not exactly herself… what would she react to?" Rad wondered as he thought. "Well…" His face then went red and everyone waited with bated breath to hear his answer. "I'll try it next time we face her, but I'll need you guys to keep her distracted" Rad said. "What's your idea?" Ko asked innocently. "You don't want to know" Enid said.
The next day, the familiar box fell from the sky and when it opened, Negula sauntered out. "Alright Lakewood Losers, let's get this done and over with, I have things to do" she said coldly as she played with one of the dark orbs from her sash. The trios looked at each other and Rad nodded. They began to fight and Ko got a hold of Nebula's sash with the dark and mysterious orbs. Rad then went behind Negula and wrapped his arms around her waist, making sure that her arms were bound to her side.
"What are you doing you imbecile?!" Negula screamed as Rad pressed his face into her neck. Enid then turned Ko around and ushered him into the bodega and she walked in with him.
Once the two were in the bodega, Negula continued to struggle against Rad. "Come on Nebs, I know you're still there" Rad said huskily into her ear. He felt her struggling loosen and he ran a hand through her hair and curled a strand around his finger as he blew a puff of air behind her ear. "S-stop" Negula protested. Rad then kissed up and down her neck slowly. He heard her shudder softly and he felt her legs give out for a moment. Rad heard her mutter insults about herself and Rad held her close to his body.
"Enid! Get her phone! Quickly!" Rad called and Enid came running out with Nebula's beloved phone in her hand. "Rad, what are you doing?" Enid asked as she saw him rubbing his cheek to hers. "I haven't shaved my stubble lately. It's a good thing too, she's ticklish!" he said as he continued to rub his face on her neck and tickle her with his free hand while the other arm restrained her. Everyone was surprised when Negula let out what sounded like a squeal and a squeak. Everyone went silent and Negula stopped squirming. "Just what was that?" Enid asked. "She does that a lot when I make her laugh. I think it's cute" Rad responded and her muttering resumed. "Now get Ko! Quickly!" he said and Enid raced into the bodega and came out with Ko. Rad then levitated them into a group hug. Negula began to squirm and the heroes felt their energy draining as their grips on her loosened. They were then sent flying back as Negula fell to the ground.
It was dead silent for a moment before Negula stood up and ran back into Voxmore.
"That was quite a show" Professor Venomous commented and Fink scurried back into the building. She let out a low growl when her creator began to pat Negula's head and praise her. "What about me boss?" she asked. "Oh yes, you did good too" he said and he then lead Negula out of the room. Fink let out a sad sigh as she thought about all the times then Professor Venomous praised her. "I need to get rid of her, but how?" she wondered.
