Chapter 86: Help From An Unexpected Ally
Fink let out a low growl as she heard the Boxmore robots talking about Negula. "Hey Fink, it looks like you're no longer his favorite" Shannon commented. "Yeah, just think about it. Your boss has been praising and spending time with Negula lately instead of you" Darrell stated. "Will you both just shut it?!" Fink roared. "Just saying" Shannon said as she and Darrell walked off.
Fink let out a sigh and she clenched her fists. "I know what I have to do!" she said and she let out a sigh. She then ran off to the plaza. Once she was at the doors, she took a deep breath and walked inside. "Fink?!" the heroes called in shock when they saw her. "Calm down, I'm here 'cause I got a proposition for ya. It's about your little girlfriend" she said as the heroes got ready to attack. She smirked when she saw them relax a bit. "What kind of proposition?" Enid asked skeptically. "I'm glad you asked. You see, Negula's become quite a nuisance for me lately. I will work out perfectly, you guys want her back and I want her gone. It's a win-win!" Fink said. "But how do we get her back to normal? Won't she just attack us and go back to Voxmore?" Ko inquired. "Rad, anything to say? You've been really quiet" Enid said.
"So, what else is in it for you, except that Professor Venomous' attention will be back on you?" Rad asked. "How about one of those special cupcakes that Ko had the other day?" Fink responded and Enid looked to Ko. Ko nodded and Fink couldn't help but feel excited to get the special treat. Ko then walked out of the bodega and came back moments later with a cupcake. Fink happily took it and ate it. "There, a deals a deal! Now how do we get Nebula back?" Rad asked impatiently.
"She has a special collar that makes sure that she doesn't slip back to normal. There's a remote that controls and can unlock the collar and I happen to know where it is. Say that said remote is left in the open when you guys bust in to rescue her. You guys would outnumber me and while two of you distract me, the other would get the remote, or something like that" Fink explained. "Oh and one more thing, I need to fight you guys to clear any suspicions" she said. They then fought and Rad sent Fink flying back into Voxmore.
That night, Fink walked past the room where Negula was being kept. She could hear the muffled sound of Professor Venomous' voice praising Negula. She smirked as she walked into her room and settled into her den. She got under the covers and she heard Professor Venomous' footsteps leaving Negula's room and a part of her expected him to come into her room but when she heard his footsteps walking away, she sighed and held the blanket closer to her body. "Tomorrow this will all be over" she said and she fell asleep.
The next day, Fink was roaming the halls of Voxmore when a loud 'crash' was heard coming from the main quickly ran towards the noise to see the heroes fighting Darrell, Shannon, and Raymond. She then made sure to make extra noise before she attacked them. She then scurried off with them chasing after her. She spotted Professor Venomous' lab where she knew that Negula and the remote were. The heroes gasped when they saw her sitting motionless as she was hooked up to a machine. Fink laughed evilly as she pressed a button and Negula was released from the machine. Fink then took out the remote from a nearby compartment and she waved it in the air. "Good luck getting this you Lakewood Lamos!" she taunted. She then pressed a button on the remote and Negula's eyes opened. She then attacked the heroes and Rad nodded at Enid and Ko. While Rad and Ko fought Negula and lead her out of the room, Enid used a shadow jutsu to get the remote from Fink while she was distracted yelling at Negula to beat up Rad and Ko. "Rad! Catch!" Enid called and she threw the remote. Rad pushed Negula out of the way as he caught the remote and pushed a large button. Negula let out a tormented scream and everyone backed away as a bright light shone from around her neck. Rad cautiously walked towards her as the room got colder. "N-Nebula?" he called carefully.
"No! Stop! Get away from me!" she screamed. Enid and Ko then carefully approached her and the three of them embraced her. Negula held her head in her hands and they heard her muttering insults about herself in tones that mimicked their voices. A soft 'clank' was heard as the collar fell off of her neck and onto the floor.
"Nebula, we would never say or think those things to you" Ko said softly. "You're our friend and yeah all we may have our fights, but after all of them, you always forgive us" Enid said. "We love you Nebula, please come back to us" Rad said through tears. A bright pink light then formed around them and with a flurry of hearts, Nebula's hair went back to it's short and blue style, her makeup went back to it's normal pink, and her dark skin went back to it's normal bright blue.
"Uhhh, what just happened?" she asked in a daze. "Nebula?" Rad asked carefully. "Yeah?" she responded. "Nebula!" the trio cheered and hugged her tightly. "What um, what just happened?" she asked. Ko and Enid pulled away and they carefully began to explain what had happened. "Wow ...I-I don't know what to say. I'm so so sorry guys" she said. "It wasn't your fault. Venomous and Boxman were the ones who brainwashed you" Ko said soothingly. "Hey Rad, you know that you can let go of her right?" Enid commented. "I would, but I don't want to" he said as he buried his face in her hair. "And I don't really want him to let me go to be honest" Nebula said as she cuddled herself in his arms.
