Chapter 89: Planet X Part 3
That night, after Rad's parents set up a sleeping area, Rad got under the covers with Nebula. "Today sure was great!" he said and Nebula turned on her side, facing away from him. "You're not still mad about me taking your phone are you? "He asked worriedly. "I said I was sorry" he said as she remained silent. He then smirked as he got an idea. He put one hand on her arm and he began to lightly kiss her neck. He heard her breath hitch and he began to lightly kiss her shoulder. "Come on babe, what's it gonna take for you to forgive me?" he asked as he pulled her close to his body. "Judging by your response, maybe I should stop" he said huskily and he felt her shiver. "W-wait! Don't stop….It-it feels good" Nebula said just as Rad began to pull away. "I'll continue if you forgive me" he said. "Deal" she said quickly and Rad resumed his affection. "Just don't ever take my phone again!" she said as she turned to face him. As she cuddled up to him, Rad chuckled. "I love you too" he said softly and he kissed her forehead before he fell asleep.
The next day was a huge feast. Nebula was helping Rad set up the large picnic blanket while his parents got all of the food together. Nebula heard her and Rad's names being whispered and she turned her head to see Theodosia and Ofrang talking to Coach. She then saw Coach turn his head to look at her. She then felt Rad sit next to her on the blanket and take her hand.
"Hey Rad, there something I need to talk to you about" she said as she sat next to him. "What's up babe?" he asked. "Well… yesterday, one of your cousins was flirting with me" she admitted. Rad stared at her in confusion as she told him what had happened. Rad sat in silence as Nebula thought he was trying to think of how to respond to what she told him.
"Hey Nebs" Rad called. "Yeah?" she responded. "Are you the moon? Because even when it's dark , you always shine" he said and Nebula's face began to get red. "Are you the sun? Because you're the center of my universe" he said and Nebula hid her red face in her hands. "You know, if I had a star for every time you brightened my day, I'd have a billion galaxies in my hand" he said and he heard Nebula let out a squeal of delight. They then heard Ofrang calling them and asking for their help with carrying the food to the blanket. Nebula quickly stood up and ran over to them, Rad soon following behind her. "Are you alright dear? Your face is all red" Ofrang asked worriedly. "She's fine, I was just telling her some pick up lines and she got flustered" Rad responded casually as he took the purple gelatin from the table and walked off to the large blanket.
The sky then began to change into what appeared to be the inside of someone. "Hey Rad" Nebula called and she pointed up. Rad looked up from what he was doing and he shrugged. "I'm sure everything's fine. Come on, the sooner we get all this done, the sooner we can eat" he said as he and everyone brought the food to the large blanket.
Once the feast began, Rad sat next to Coach and Nebula sat in between him and Theodosia. Nebula sensed someone looking at her and she saw Rad's relative from before that flirted with her staring at her. He then winked at her when he caught her looking at him. She shuddered and scooted closer to Rad and he put an arm around her waist. "Care for some Steamed Blorp Dumplings sweetie?" Theodosia asked as she held out a plate full of dumplings. "Yes please" she said happily. "Thank you" She said as Theodosia put some of the dumplings onto Nebula's plate.
"So, when do you two plan on gettin' hitched?" Coach asked as he ate. Nebula and Rad both began to choke on their food. "Well?" he asked getting impatient. "Don't you think that we're both still a bit young to get hitched?" Rad asked nervously. "That never stopped your folks. Besides, I could probably just marry you two right now" Coach said casually. "We both want to become better heroes before we decide on getting married. We want to become stronger and we don't want to have to worry about planning the wedding. Since weddings are a lot of hard work to plan and make sure that everything is perfect. Right honey?" Nebula asked nervously and Rad nodded. "Y-yeah! What she said" he said nervously. "Well, you two better hurry up, 'cauze I ain't getting any younger and I'm pretty sure that your parents both can't wait to have their own grandkids. You two do plan on havin' kids right?" Coach asked.
Rad saw Nebula's expression fall and he knew what was going on through her head. "Hey, why don't we check in on Enid and Ko?" he suggested. He then took out his phone and made it hover once he dialed Ko's phone number.
"Hey guys!" Nebula said once Ko answered. "How's everything going at Gar's?" Rad asked and he chuckled. "Wait a minute. Don't you know yet?" Enid asked in shock. "You've been… eaten" Ko said. "What? Eaten?" Rad asked and he took a large bite out of his turkey leg. "We thought it was a little early to be dark and wet out here" Rad said. We've been so busy with the feast that we-" Nebula then raised an eyebrow at him. "I mean I haven't really had time to notice anything" Rad said casually. "I noticed, but Rad said that everything was going to be fine" Nebula commented. "Guys, it's gonna be okay. We're gonna figure out a way to save you and your home planet" Ko said and Rad chuckled. "Awh, don't worry little dude, I think it's all gonna work out fiiiiiiiine" Rad said and he took another bite "Fine? Fine?! We've been worried sick trying to figure out a way to keep you and your whole family from being digested! It's not fine!" Enid yelled worriedly. "You should really be more worried about this right now!" she cried. "Yeah! We need to find a way out of here!" Nebula said, starting to freak out. "Chillax, we're on vacation! We'll see you soon, alright?" Rad said with a chuckle and he hung up.
"Babe, sit back down and eat" he called as Nebula began to pace behind him. "How can I 'chillax' when we are possibly in the stomach on some unknown creature!" she protested. Rad let out a sigh and he used his levitation beam to make her sit down. "Now say ah" he said as he held out something on a stick. Nebula sighed and opened her mouth. "There's my girl" he praised as he fed her. "Better?" he asked. "I guess" she said after she swallowed the food. He then picked up his fork and glass and stood up. He clinked the fork against the glass and everyone went quiet.
"Ladies and gentleblorbs, it is my honor this year to lead the planetary belch, where all of us on Planet X burp at exactly the same time in jubilant celebration of our wonderful feast. If I may begin the ceremony" Rad said and he then let out a large belch and everyone then joined him. "Eh, when in Rome" Nebula said and she joined everyone. Nebula then saw the sky moving from inside the creature, out of it's mouth, and then back into orbit. Nebula saw something heading towards them and she motioned for Rad to look. He smiled and he stood up. He then held out his hand and they walked over to where the mysterious object would be landing. The mysterious object turned out to be Ko and Enid on a red motorbike. Rad pulled Nebula to his chest and she put her hands near his shoulders.
"Sup nerds?" Rad greeted and Ko tackled them in a hug. They all laughed and Nebula hugged Enid and Ko. "It's so nice to see you guys!" she said. "Rad, you knucklehead! I'm glad that you guys are okay" Enid said as she lightly hit Rad's head with her fist. "We-We thought you guys were d-d-dead" Ko cried. "Ha! I'll never die! As long as you guys are around to save my butt at least" Rad said. "And I'm pretty sure that it's gonna take a lot more than something swallowing the planet we're on to eliminate us" Nebula said soothingly.
"Okay they're alive. Great. Let's go Ko" Enid said. "W-w-wait! Don't go" Rad said as Enid turned away. "I actually wanted to ask you if you would maybe give us a ride back" he said and Ko gasped happily. "For real?" Enid asked. "Don't get us wrong, we've been having a great time here on Planet X" Nebula said. "But to be honest, we miss being back at the bodega with you guys really bad" Rad said and Ko awed. "Sure thing. But you guys owe me a lot of gas money" Enid said and she handed Rad and Nebula two red helmets as the bike extended to fit all four of them. Nebula got behind Enid and Rad got behind her with Ko behind him.
"Radicles! Nebula!" Ofrang called as he ran to them. "Share this Glarfnar Salad with your friends okay?" he asked and he kissed Rad's cheek. "Love you son and future daughter-in law" he said and he walked off. "Hey Nebula, your face is all red" Ko commented. "All set?" Enid asked. "Yep! But wait, where'd you even get this sweet space bike anyway?" Rad responded and he wrapped his arms around Nebula's waist. "Mr. Gar gave it to me" Enid answered. "Wha-?! Awh, no fair! You and Nebula were always his favorites" Rad pouted and Enid chuckled. "Rad honey, you already have your awesome van that you put a lot of time and effort into. Remember all those sick mods you were gonna put on it? Maybe when we get back you can put them on. Besides, your my favorite and you always will be" Nebula said as they took off and headed back to Earth.
