Chapter 90: The Big Reveal
A few days later, Nebula was taking care of Rad and Enid in the bodega. "I warned you guys about eating those expired Glop Chips. But did you guys listen? Noooo! And look how that turned out. You guys are lucky that Mr. Gar is letting the new people take over while you two rest up" Nebula said as she wrapped a blanket on Rad and then Enid. She felt her phone vibrate and she saw that she got a text from Bianca. "I'm in Lakewood for brunch with Ko and his mom. Hopefully I'll get to see you" she read.
"Maybe… I'm taking care of Rad and Enid, they got food poisoning, so I don't know if I'll get to see you. Sorry to hear about Laserblast" she mumbled as she typed her reply. "Who knew after all those missions, he would end up croaking. I wonder what did it? Miss Bianca never did tell me" Her thoughts were then interrupted when she heard Rad gag and she quickly put her phone back in her pocket and put a bucket near him.
Moments later, Mr. Gar approached her just as she finished putting Rad and Enid to bed. "Nebula, I need you to go to Voxmore to help Ko with intercepting an illegal glorb deal" he said. "But what about Rad and Enid?" she asked as she glanced over to them. "I'll take care of them for you while you're gone" he said and he ushered her out the door. "Welp, guess I'm going to Voxmore" she said with a shrug and she ran towards Voxmore.
When she entered the building, the saw Ko pulling up to the building on what used to be Rad's old vehicle with Solana and a bag. "Hey Ko, what's with that?" she asked as she motioned to a small black charm on his headband. "It belonged to my dad, ZenStrike" Ko said happily and as they ran inside, he told her about what Bianca and his mom informed him about his father. "That's really cool Ko! So, why do you have Solana? I thought that she was supposed to be with her mom" she said. "Well, when Mr. Gar called me, I offered to take her so that my mom could comfort Miss bianca" Ko responded. Ko and Nebula punched through a wall and they finally came across Professor Venomous and Lord Boxman. "You don't want to mess with me, I just found out who my daddy is!" Ko said proudly and unknown to him, the bag fell to the ground when he landed and Laserblast's helmet rolled out.
"That helmet!" Professor Venomous exclaimed after he spit out his drink. When he reached for the helmet, Nebula quickly tackled Professor Venomous to the ground and made a sword out of ice appear as Ko chased after Lord Boxman. "Don't even think about touching it! It belongs, well belonged, to Laserblast and I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't want you getting your filthy hands on it! I'm sure that you would already know this since you must have heard of him" she growled. Professor Venomous then began to cackle. "What's so funny?" she asked venomously as she held the blade of the sword close to his face.
"Heard of him?" he cackled. He then knocked the sword out of her hand and he lifted her up by her arms. "Take a good, long look. I am him! Although you probably don't remember much of me from before you were born" he said and Nebula felt her heart stop for a moment. "Y-you mean before I woke up? What would I remember?" she asked nervously and carefully. "Think about it, you had to be created with two pairs of DNA, Bianca's and well, you can guess who else's DNA" he said and she stared at him in shock as her hands began to glow.
"And that's not all, yes you did come from a lab, but that was because you were born early and in bad condition, you had to be finished in the lab in order for your body to finish developing" he explained. "S-so y-you mean…" Professor Venomous then let out a laugh. "That's right Nebulana, I am your father!" he said and he dropped her. "Y-you're lying! You must be! I can't trust you!" she cried. "If I was lying, then how do I know that the numbers that was on your tube were 6207. I know that you remember that, and you have never told anyone" Professor Venomous said smugly as he took the helmet from the ground and put it on. Ko noticed Nebula motionless near Professor Venomous so he immediately called for his mom. Not moments later, she and Ice Queen came smashing through the ceiling and Carol tackled Professor Venomous to the ground while Bianca checked on Nebula, Solana, and Ko.
"How dare you steal Laserblast's helmet!" Carol yelled as she took the helmet off of him. "Mommy, wait! That is Laserblast!" Ko said. Carol then put the helmet back on and then took it off.
"Uh Bi?" Carol called and Bianca walked over where she was. "Hi Snow Angel" Professor Venomous said smugly. "Laserblast! What?! But you died in an explosion on your solo mission days ago!" Bianca said in disbelief. "That my dear was a goo clone of my own design! Did you ever wonder why I stopped calling you Snow Angel like how I used to?" he asked. He then took a beaker out of an inner coat pocket and threw it on the ground. They all began to cough as room was filled with purple smoke. "Seriously?!" Carol shouted once the smoke cleared and she chased after him.
"Oh no you don't! You're gonna explain everything or I'll destroy you right now!" Carol demanded as she tackled him to the ground from behind. "Fine, but you're not gonna like the answers" he taunted and Bianca created an ice slide to get to him and Carol.
"After Bi and I conceived Solana, I began to grow tired of my mediocrity at P.O.I.N.T, she and everyone always told me that I should be content with the powers I already had. But how could any of them possibly understand when the powers that she and everyone else wielded were far vastly superior? Especially ZenStrike. I knew P.O.I.N.T would never approve of my efforts to obtain new powers, so in between missions, I studied up on bioengineering and conducted experiments in secret. I was even able to take Bianca's notes and sneak off to my secret lab while she was busy. I created a goo clone of myself to avoid any suspicion or interference whenever I needed to study or work in secret. Suffice to say things would have been very different now if it weren't for Greyman. On that day, I couldn't risk Foxtail destroying my lab and countless months of research. So on that day, I left you, Silverspark, and El-Bow outside while I ran in to cover my tracks. I wanted to leave you behind as well, but we all know what ended up happening. When we were inside, I began to destroy my lab while she searched other parts of the building. Fate however had other plans. One of the orbs dropped and of course Bianca rushed over to shield us while the building disappeared" he explained and Carol put a hand on Bianca's shoulder as she felt the room getting colder.
"It wasn't until I was on a mission with ZenStrie that I lost my powers. You see, I was able to track down my secret lab. I had Zen searching the rest of what remained while I gathered what I could. I began to plan for when Nebulana woke up. She would be a wonderful weapon! Created to be the perfect hero, or well villain once I got to her. That's when Zen found me and discovered what I was doing. I couldn't let him undo all of my progress, so I triggered the building to disappear again, but with him in it. Once I lost my powers, I began to think about what purpose could I possibly serve as a husband, as a partner" he then paused and looked towards Bianca who was comforting Carol.
"As a father" He then looked to Nebula who was holding Solana. "My answer was always none! So I went into hiding. I spent ages desperately trying to regain the powers I'd lost. But nothing worked! And yet, through all my miserable failures, I'd made big developments in areas of great value to a market I hadn't considered...villains! It wasn't until I'd struck it rich selling my goods to all those crooks that I realized something very important. You don't need powers to have power!" he then began to laugh evilly as a platform rose him up and a panel in the ceiling opened up.
"Now then, if you'll excuse me, I have a delivery to make" he said and a cannon popped out of the platform. "Cannons aimed for Billiam's P.V" Lord Boxman announced as he appeared out of the cannon with a briefcase. "You ready to blast off?" he asked as he handed Professor Venomous a helmet. "Yes, I think we're done here" he responded as he took the helmet. "Unless… Nebulana, does the villain in your blood beckon you?" he asked and Nebula glared at him. "How'd you like to join Daddy at work today?" he suggested smugly and Bianca got in front of her and Solana. "How dare you even ask that you slimeball! You think they want anything to do with you after everything you put them through?!" Carol yelled and Bianca held up a hand.
"So this whole time you've been a goo clone, you've been tormenting Nebula, and now you dare ask me if you can take her to do whatever evil thing you want?! My answer is no! How dare you even ask that! Instead of being there for Solana's birth and any other important moment in her and Nebula's life, you were doing who knows what evil thing!" Bianca yelled
"Wait, Miss Bi, I mean... mom? Even though he's the worst even we ever fought, he is still my dad and there is some of him in me! Who knows, maybe learning from him about the dark part of myself will help me control Negula whenever I get too emotional. Yes he did kidnap and brainwash me, forcing me to become Negula, but I just might be able to learn how to control her! I think, no, I need to do this!" Nebula said and Bianca sighed sadly. "I suppose you're right, but what about your mission that you and Ko agreed to?" she asked and they all looked to Professor Venomous.
"Mmm, how 'bout weekends" he said and Nebula looked to Bianca and they nodded at each other. "Visits with Solana will be supervised" Bianca said coldly. "However, lucky for us today is Tuesday!" Carol said as she cracked her knuckles. "Yeah! And on Tuesdays we kick villain butt!" Ko said as he copied his mother. Carol then lifted the column and Professor Venomous gasped and he yelled in shock. Carol the tossed the platform into the air and she and Ko jumped into the air and power punched the platform, causing Professor Venomous and Lord Boxman into one of the large towers on the building.
Once Carol and Ko landed, they noticed Bianca holding Laserblast's helmet with Nebula and Solana sitting next to her. "Hey, are you girls okay?" Carol asked.
"To be honest, I'm not sure. I just found out that my husband and the father of my two girls is a villain and the whole time he was with me after we conceived Solana, he was a goo clone" Bianca respond in a daze. "You're telling me! I just found out that I'm your actual daughter and that one of our greatest enemies is my dad!" Nebula said. "What do you say we all get some ice cream from Weiner Kabob?" Carol suggested. "Thank you, but no thanks. I think we just need some time to process what had happened. Nebula, you're more than welcome to join Solana and I back at P.O.I.N.T if you need some time away from here" Bianca responded and Nebula nodded. "Hey Ko, would you mind not telling anyone? I want to be the one that tells everyone, but only when I'm ready" she asked and Ko nodded. Nebula smiled and hugged him. "Thank you Ko! Tomorrow, don't be surprised if you don't see me at work. Just please text me if Enid and Rad are feeling better" she said. She then pulled away from the hug and she saw that Bianca had summoned the IceCycle and she was holding out a helmet for her. Solana was strapped to a special seat in the back. Nebula then hugged Carol and took the helmet from Bianca.
Once they got to P.O.I.N.T, Bianca led Nebula to a spare apartment-like room. "This used to be my old room, we'll be staying here tonight. I just can't go back to-well, you know where" she said. She then took out a pager and moments later, Foxtail arrived with Solana's baby bed. While Bianca took it and thanked her, Nebula took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Hey Rad" she said once he answered. "Hey Nebs, you okay? You sound upset? Did something happen?" Rad asked worriedly. "I'm fine. I'm staying at P.O.I.N.T. Stuff happened. See you tomorrow… maybe" she said. "Okay. Love you" Rad said and Nebula sighed. "I...I love you too" she said and she hung up. Something on the coffee table then caught her eye.
She looked at it to see a picture of a male with a medium grey veil, what appeared to be brown hair. He was holding a golden staff with three hoops on it and he had a strange symbol on the top of his white kimono. On his belt was the charm that Ko had along with a medium pink, blue, and green flower charm. "Is this Zenstrike?" Nebula asked once Bianca sat next to her. Bianca nodded and Nebula put the picture back on the coffee table. The females were silent for a moment and they turned to each other and hugged as they cried. "Don't worry, everything will be okay. We'll find a way to get past this, and this whole time I'll be right beside you" Bianca said after she calmed down. Nebula went silent as she tried to process what had happened. "Promise?" Nebula asked and Bianca nodded and hugged her.
"I promise"
