A/N: The one shot that won't die
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck
"Hey, what was so urgent?" Sarah asked, walking into his house… their house. Chuck had sent her a text earlier, asking her to come over as soon as she could. He came out of the kitchen, met her in the living room, and gave her a kiss that made her forget about everything else in the world but Chuck Bartowski. He pulled away, and she saw his eyes sparkling, almost teasing her. "What was that for?"
He didn't answer, but sunk down to one knee. "Chuck, you know you can't propose to me."
"Sarah," he began.
"Chuck, you can't do this," she said, smiling and laughing. He pulled out a bread tie. "You're insane," she breathed.
"Sarah Walker, will you-" she laid a finger over his lips, stopping him. She gave him an amused look, reached into her purse, pulled out a wedding ring and slipped it over her finger.
"Chuck, I've already said yes," she reminded him.
"Will you be my wife, and quit pretending around others we're not married?" Chuck asked. Her eyes went wide.

"Carina, what do you mean you're getting married?" she asked into the phone. She gave Chuck a look. The phone was on speaker, Carina had asked her to, while Sarah made dinner. Chuck had offered to step out, so she could talk in private, but she was making something special tonight and Carina and her craziness were not going to stop it.
"I'm getting married," Carina said. "I love him, he's the one."
"Carina, you swore you'd never get married," Sarah reminded her.
"He makes me feel things," Carina told Sarah.
"That just sounds weird," Sarah muttered, making Carina laugh. "I mean, okay… when?"
"Friday night, Las Vegas," Carina told her. "I want you to be there on Thursday to help me set it all up, and bring someone, in case I need another witness."
"I am not bringing someone to a wedding," Sarah said, giving Chuck a look. "Who would I bring? And bringing someone to a wedding is one of those really serious moments in a relationship."
"Bring that guy you're living with," Carina replied. Chuck's eyes widened. "The one who's house you're at right now."
"What are you talking about?" Sarah asked, shaking her head and giving Chuck a look. How the hell did Carina know?
"Because I stopped by your place earlier, and you weren't home. So, I called you, and that's when you said you needed to cook," Carina explained.
"Carina-"
"Stop, blondie… I'm not telling anyone, and trust me, seeing someone on the DL… it's hot."
"It is," Chuck mouthed, nodding. Sarah silently chuckled.
"Sarah, please," Carina asked. Sarah looked at Chuck, who nodded.
"I'll see if I can find someone," Sarah began.
"We won't even call him by his real name, if it helps," Carina said. "How about… Hector?"
"I don't feel like a Hector," Chuck whispered.
"Okay," Sarah relented. "I'll… we'll do it."
"Knew you were with someone," Carina said. "Is he good in bed?"
"Bye, Carina," Sarah said hanging up the phone. She turned to Chuck. "I mean, I wasn't about to tell her how good you are. Don't need to break up that marriage before it starts."

Now
"We are terrible at this 6-month thing," Sarah said with a grin, pulling him up from the floor. "So, what is it you're… proposing?"
"Nice," Chuck said with a grin, pulling out his own wedding ring and putting it on. "We leave these on, all the time."
Sarah gave him a look. "Okay," she said. "Wait, I'm not agreeing, just making sure I understand what it is you're…"
"Proposing," Chuck finished for her. She gave him a shoulder bump. "And we share the same home."
"Don't we?" she asked, giving him a look. "When's the last time either of us have slept apart?"
"I have no idea, but unless you need your bachelorette pad…" Chuck trailed off, grinning.
"So, our marriage isn't like that?" she replied, laughing at him.
"Do you remember when I asked you after the first week, if we were exclusive?" Chuck asked.
"I believe I told you that if you were with anyone else, now was the time to confess, and I'd give them a two-hour head start before I found them and killed them," Sarah replied, batting her eyelashes.
"God, that's hot," he muttered.
"You're so weird," she said, taking his hands into hers. "Chuck, I love you, we are married, but…"
"You're worried about the reactions?" Chuck asked.
"I'm worried about my reactions," Sarah admitted. "When you said in your office that day, out loud, that you loved me… do you know how I felt?"
"Pretty sure I do, since I felt the same way when you said it out loud."
"Nu-uh," she said, like a petulant child. "Me hearing it was way more…"
"More what?" he asked, as she searched for the right word.
She smirked, closed the distance between them, raised an eyebrow, and bounced a shoulder. "More," she said softly.
"Fine, yours was more," he admitted, his throat a little dry, finding himself a little breathless.
"Why do you always let me win?" she asked, moving to kiss him.
"I find we both win when you win," he admitted, letting her kiss him.

"So, why Vegas?" Chuck asked.
"I assumed she had an Elvis fetish," Sarah replied. Chuck's eyes nearly bugged out. "However, it turns out, she just wanted something simple and small at the Bellagio. They take care of everything."
"Hmm," Chuck hummed. "I mean, think of all the things you don't have to worry about."
"Right?" Sarah replied. "And, I mean if you're going to get married, and wanted someone to take care of all that stuff, what's wrong with paying a little extra to make sure it's what you want?"
"Is that something you'd like?" he asked. She gave him a look and he threw up his hands in a defensive posture. "Whoa, I was literally just curious, that's it."
"I don't hate it," she admitted, shrugging. "I mean, I know a lot of people have family and friends, but… I don't know, maybe a ceremony for them, later, but for me…" She trailed off.
Chuck started laughing. "You're all about the DL, aren't you?" he asked.
"God, I have to sound horrible," she said, shaking her head. "I mean," she turned and circled her arms around his neck, "I don't want to listen to I-told-you-so's with our friends and family now. I want a small ceremony for when I get married…"
"You don't sound horrible at all," he said softly. "You sound like you want what you want, and I'm just glad that right now, I'm what you want."
"What do you mean right now, Chuck Bartowski?" she asked, raising her eyebrow. "I love you, you idiot, you know that, right?" He grinned at her. "You have gone along with this, knowing what your sister would do if she found out."
"Worth it," he said softly.
"What would she do if she found out we got married?" Sarah asked teasingly.
"No idea… maybe one day I'll get to find out," he replied, kissing her. She pulled away and gave him a look. "What?"
"I think we're getting caught up in something," she said.
"I think we're just being us, and being honest," he replied.

Now
"So, to be clear?" Sarah asked, a little while later, her lounging naked against Chuck, in the bed. "We don't get 'married' later?"
"Sarah, what happens when I go to buy you an anniversary present and it's on our actual wedding day? What is Ellie gonna say?" Chuck asked her.
"Maybe she won't notice," Sarah replied. "Hush," she said, not even looking at Chuck as he made a face at her. "I heard the ridiculousness of it as soon as I said it. Chuck laughed into her shoulder, and then kissed it. "Stop that; you made us food, and now it's cold. And if you keep that up, we'll have to warm it up even more."
"Worth it," he said.
"Chuck Bartowski, stop that! That's how you sweet-talked me into marrying you," she said, giggling.
He pulled away, faux affronted. "Woman," he said, making her laugh. "We both know you sweet-talked me."
She rolled over and kissed him. "I think we both sweet-talked each other."

"So, to be clear," the wedding planner said to Chuck and Sarah. "You two aren't the couple getting married, they are?" They looked over at Carina and her fiancé, whose name they hadn't learned, and wasn't sure they would. "I thought for sure you were."
"Why?" Sarah asked.
The planner smiled at them. "Dear, you two are so in love a blind person could see it." The planner walked away.
"What would be different?" Chuck asked softly. She spun, her eyes wide. "I'm just talking, since you know, they're about to make a scene and I don't want to watch it." Chuck widened his eyes, making her giggle.
"Let's see, until everyone knew, we'd have to keep it quiet," Sarah began.
"Like us dating?" he asked, and got a flat look in response. "Got it."
"Nothing, I guess," she said, shrugging. "I mean…" she trailed off, shaking her head.
"You know you're it for me, right?" Chuck asked. Her head shot up, and locked eyes with him.
"What are you saying?" Sarah asked.
"Wedding's off," Carina said, storming out. "You two use it and the room, I'm heading home."
"Carina," Sarah began.
"No, blondie, not now… I'll call you," Carina said. "I gotta do this solo. I'm okay, but… bastard," she muttered. "Hector is cute." With that Carina turned and left.
"Go," Chuck said. Sarah smiled, kissed him quickly, and hurried after her.
"So," the planner said. "The limo can take you to get the license in the morning." Chuck turned to the planner, who gave him a smile.

Now
Sarah's phone rang, and she answered it. "Hello, Carina," she said. "Fine, I'm putting it on speaker."
"Bartowski's an idiot," Carina said. Sarah's and Chuck's eyes both went wide, and Chuck nearly dropped his fork. They had finally made their way to the kitchen to have dinner. "First, I said it was on me, I didn't need the check. Second-"
"His name was on the check," Sarah muttered, putting her head in her hands.
"So, did you do it?" Carina asked. Sarah lifted her head and smiled at Chuck.

"Why are we doing this?" Sarah asked. "We don't have to be married to be together and love each other."
"We're doing it because of those things, but also because I want to be there to support you in the bad times, when you need me, when you want me, and when you need your feet rubbed," Chuck replied.
"I need my feet rubbed a lot," Sarah replied.
"Remember, computer guy, good with the fingers," he said, wiggling them.
"So hot," she whispered. Chuck swallowed, and she laughed. "But-"
"If you don't want to, we don't have to, but Sarah… what does it really change?" Chuck asked.
"Yeah, but what happens when you want to tell everyone?" Sarah asked.
"Then I ask, and if you're not cool, you say no," Chuck replied.

Now
"So, did ya?" Carina asked.
"Gotta go, Carina," Sarah said, clicking off the phone. "Wanna run away and elope with me?" she asked, grinning.
"That is still code for sex, right?" Chuck asked. Sarah grinned at him. "So, do I have to take your last name?"

"What if I want to keep my last name?" Sarah asked. "What if I want you to change your name to Walker?"
"Then I'll do it," Chuck replied. "But, when I do, we're in the open about this, okay?" Sarah bit her bottom lip, but nodded, and his grin grew.

Now
"No," she said softly. Chuck nodded. She looked him in his eyes. "I'm going to take yours." She looked around the house. "And I'm going to move my stuff out of my apartment."
"Really?" Chuck asked, his grin growing.
She nodded. "Mmmhmm," she hummed, and then grinned. "And then…" she trailed off as Chuck dropped his head. "Then we tell Ellie."
