Chapter 97: Let's Get Shadowy Part 2
They followed the paper's instructions and it lead them through a sewer. "I just love spending my weekend in a stinky old tunnel! Thanks so much Nebula" Fink said sarcastically. "You know, you didn't have to come with us" Nebula responded smugly. "You love sewers Fink" Professor Venomous said. "Well not this one" Fink pouted. They then came upon a door with a wheel like latch. "Shadowy's secret lair" Professor Venomous breathed out. "You ready Nebula?" he asked and she nodded her head. "Let's do this!" she said and the father-daughter duo burst through the door, ready to attack. "A beaker, really?" she commented as she noticed that his weapon was a beaker. "What the?" Nebula questioned as they noticed that the room was empty. "Let's take a look around" Professor Venomous said and they both searched the lab for any signs of Shadowy Figure.
"Check this out" Nebula called when she came upon a familiar scarf on a table. Professor Venomous walked over and picked up the cloth and examined it. "Oh man, we missed him again!" Nebula complained. "So are you ready to throw in the towel yet or do we need to track down yet another dead end that leads us nowhere?" Fink asked from the doorway. "Maybe if you stopped whining and actually helped us, we would have been able to catch him!" Nebula argued angrily. "Girls come on. Cool it" Professor Venomous said as he got in between the two females. "She started it!" the both yelled as they pointed to each other. "No I didn't you did! Stop copying me! I'm not copying you, you're copying me! Stop it!" they yelled in unison and Professor Venomous sighed. "Okay, break it up! I don't want to hear another word from either of you, got it?" he warned as he moved the two girls away from each other.
"I told you the search was pointless from the beginning. But you peabrains wouldn't listen" Fink grumbled. "Excuse me?!" Professor Venomous retorted. "Shadowy Figure is a bad guy! He's the reason TKo exists! For all we know he could be under some sort of mind control and he needs our help to snap him out of it! Maybe this isn't a big deal to you, but it is important to me!" Nebula retorted and her hands began to glow darkly. "It's a huge deal to me!" Fink said and Nebula stared at her in shock. "You may be my boss' kid, but you don't know anything about me!" Fink yelled as she tried to push Nebula. "Fink, what has gotten into you?" Professor Venomous asked angrily. "Just go see for yourself" she responded as she pointed to a circular door on the ceiling. She pressed a button and it opened up.
Professor Venomous and Nebula stuck their heads out of it to reveal what looked like something that was once a house. "Now this seems familiar" Professor Venomous commented as he got out of the hole. He then held out a hand to help Nebula out, but she swatted it away and choose to levitate herself out. She then began to look around for any traces of Shadowy Figure. "Just where are you hiding now?" she questioned. "Venomous, any idea where we are?" she asked as she continued her search.
"Before Boxman blew it up, this was my lair" he revealed and Nebula gasped. "Some view you have here" she commented as she looked at the scenery that what was once his lair overlooked.
"Is there something you want to tell me Fink? How did this Shadowy Figure hide a lab under my home without my knowledge?" Professor Venomous interrogated. "Because you're Shadowy Figure!" Fink revealed and Nebula gasped. "No. Freaking. Way!" she exclaimed. "Ya happy?!" Fink asked rhetorically.
"I see now… After the night I lost my powers, I made every attempt I could think of to try and gain them back. I can't believe it worked" Professor Venomous explained in awe. "So this whole time you were the real Shadowy Figure?!" Nebula asked in shock. "I-I didn't know!" Professor Venomous said defensively as Nebula got ready to attack him. "Why-why didn't I know?" he questioned.
"Because Shadowy didn't want you to! Haven't you wondered why you're always so sleepy and cranky? Or why as soon as you tried to search for Shadowy Figure on your computer, it basically exploded?! Shadowy Figure isn't just a part of you, he's like-like your alter ego!" Fink responded.
"You knew this whole time?" Professor Venomous asked. "I hate Shadowy! He's so lame!" she then recalled about whenever she encountered Shadowy Figure. "Shadowy told me to stay away from him, and I was more than happy to" she said. "But why didn't you tell me?" Professor Venomous asked as he kneeled down to Fink's level. "Shadowy told me that if I did, he'd take over your body and make you disappear forever!" she responded on the verge of tears.
"I can't believe that I could keep this a secret from myself. I didn't know! I feel so...helpless!" he began to struggle and Nebula took a step back as his skin turned grey. "This can't be good" she said as Professor Venomous transformed into Shadowy Figure. "Huh so that's what he looks like under the hood" she commented once the transformation was complete.
"How dare you! I never wanted that Venomous to know. But now you brats have ruined it for me!" Shadowy Figure said and Fink went to hide behind Nebula. Shadowy Figure swing his hand to scratch them but Nebula summoned a shield that was made of ice. "Well, in a way I was partially right. Someone was under mind control and he might need my help. I just never expected it to be Professor Venomous" Nebula said calmly as she warded off all of Shadowy Figure's attacks with her ice shield.
"Shadowy's never gonna let him come back now!" Fink yelled as Nebula picked her up while she continued to fight. "Look, you want to save Venomous, right? I want to save him to. Whether I like it or not, he needs my help. I think we can bring him back… but I'm gonna need your help and you're gonna have to trust me" Nebula asked as she pushed Shadowy Figure down to the ground with her shield. She then ran behind a large piece of debris. Nebula set Fink down and she kneeled to her level. "And I know that you would do the same for me if it was Miss Bianca" she said softly and Fink wiped away a tear. "Fine. But only if we go back to hating each other after this" Fink responded. "Dela. But if we are ever around my mom we have to tolerate each other" she said and Fink nodded and took out a glorb from her pocket. She then held it up to her collar and she was transformed into Turbo Fink.
"Where'd you go of to?" they herd Shadowy Figure say as he crept around trying to find them. "We're right here Shadowy!" Nebula said as the girls appeared before him. "Aren't you gonna turn into Negula?" Fink asked. "No. If I do then I might lose control and who knows if I'll ever be able to turn back to normal" Nebula responded. "Hmm, teaming up are we? How cute" Shadowy Figure said as he pulled the hood to cover his face. "Bring it on you vampire wanna be" Nebula taunted as she and Fink got ready to attack. Shadowy Figure pounced at them and the girls managed to dodge his hits. They leapt into the air and attacked Shadowy Figure from both sides. They then leapt at him, only for him to push them away. "You keep getting in my way!" Fink yelled as Nebula stood up. "Look, if we don't work together, he's gonna beat us and you'll never see Professor Venomous again" Nebula reminded. "Look, I have an idea. But you need to do exactly as I say" she said and Fink nodded. Nebula whispered the idea into her ear and the girls nodded at each other.
"Hey Shadowy!" Nebula called. She then created a giant fist out of ice and she used her levitation beam to launch it at him. Fink leapt onto it and infused her Turbo powers with it. She then took ahold of it and launched it at Shadowy Figure. It sent Shadowy Figure flying back and Nebula pat Fink's head. "I hate to admit it, but we make a pretty good team" she praised. The wind blew and what was once Shadowy Figure turned into Professor Venomous. He let out a groan as he turned over onto his back. "What happened?" he asked and the girls walked over to him. "We saved your butt" Nebula responded as they helped Professor Venomous sit up. "Did I transform again?" he asked. "You did, but we stopped ya" Fink responded as she held onto his knee. "Yeah we did! And it was awesome!" Nebula said happily. "Nicely done you two" Professor Venomous praised. "I can't live like this. Split into two personalities. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this and stop it for good" he sighed. "Really?" the girls said in unison. "Yeah. Thanks for snapping me out of it you two. It won't happen again" he praised. He then pulled them in for a hug. Nebula quickly pulled away from him and dusted herself off.
"Look on the bright side, at least you didn't have someone kidnap you and mentally torture you until you snapped and turned into you know who" Nebula stated. "Just to be clear, we are not friends!" Fink yelled at Nebula and Professor Venomous let out a laugh as he stood up with Fink still in his arms.
He looked to the horizon and then at Nebula. "It's getting kinda late. How about I take you home" he suggested. Nebula nodded and they went back through the secret entrance and back to the plaza. He opened the front passenger door for Nebula and she silently climbed in. She told him the directions and moments later, they arrived at Rad's home. Upon hearing the car, Rad burst out of his house and Nebula burst out of the car. They ran to each other and shared a kiss.
