Chapter 98: Red Action 3: Grudgement Day
Nebula woke up and stretched her arms as she looked over at Rad's sleeping face. She glanced over to the clock and when she saw what time it was, she got off the hammock bed. She then put her hands under the bed and flipped Rad onto the ground. "Morning sleepy head! Get dressed and ready, we leave for work in half an hour" she reminded and she walked out of the room and down to the kitchen. She saw Rad's parent's Ofrang and Theodosia finishing up breakfast. "What was that thud?" Ofanng asked as he handed her a glass with juice in it. "I woke Rad up" she responded as she took a sip. Rad come down to the kitchen moments later fully dressed.
"Good morning honey!" His mother greeted happily. "Morning" he grumbled and his father handed him a mug of coffee. After breakfast was finished, Nebula got ready and then she and Rad left for work.
"Morning" Enid and Ko greeted as the couple walked in. "Morning~" Nebula greeted as she and Rad clocked in. "Mr. Gar left us a list of stuff for us to do" Enid said as she held out the list. The day flew by and it was now the afternoon. "Welp, guess I'll get started on cleaning outside" Nebula said after she finished getting the inventory for the back.
When she got back out to the main floor, she saw her boyfriend arguing with Red Action. "Okay, what did he do this time?" she sighed as she stood with Ko. She then put her thumb and index finger in her mouth and she let out a loud whistle. The two paused and Enid walked up to them.
"Would someone mind telling me what's going on here?" Enid asked exasperatedly. "I just stopped by to invite you jelly surfing, when all of a sudden Rad shows up and starts slinging all these insults at me!" Red Action explained angrily. "Rad! You better have a good explanation" Nebula scolded. "Jelly surfing is for squares. I don't make the rules" Rad responded casually. "You're only saying that because you stink at it!" Red Action yelled. "He does not! He is amazing when it comes to surfing!" Nebula yelled defensively. "Yeah! You tell her babe!" Rad praised. "Rad, control her before any of you breaks something" Enid yelled and Nebula glared at her. "Hey Endi, let me try something" Ko said. He walked over to Nebula and tugged at her pants. She looked down at him and he gave her the sweetest look he could as he held his arms out for a hug. Nebula cooed at him and she happily took him in her arms.
Red Action and Rad then began to mock each other. "Oh look at me I'm Rad and I love to act like a dumb little baby!" Red Action mocked as she hit the top of her head with her surfboard. Rad then took the surfboard from her. "Oh yeah? Well I'm Red Action. I take up all of Enid's time 'cause I'm from the future and I say things like cowabunga. But the truth is, Enid deserves someone better than me!" Rad mocked and Nebula's eyes widened and she clutched the nearby counter for support. "I really hope he isn't implying what I think he's implying" she thought as she felt her heart stop for a moment.
Rad then threw the surfboard and Crinkly Wrinkly was forced onto it. He happily rode it… until he crashed into a wall.
"Dude" Red Action started. "Rad! What is your damage?! Every time I go out with Red Action, you pick a fight with her! You don't see me doing that every time you go out with Nebula" Enid yelled. "What could she possibly have done to cause this stupid grudge?" she asked angrily.
"Huh? Oh..she's a dodo head" Rad responded stubbornly. "What'd you call me?!" Red Action asked angrily. Enid then restrained her before she could attack the alien. "Let me at him!" Red Action yelled. "That's not an acceptable answer Rad" Enid scolded."Okay fine! It's...it's 'cause she didn't follow me back on social media! She follows Nebula but she never followed me back" Rad pouted and Nebula breathed out a sigh of relief. "Seriously?" Enid deadpanned. "Not to mention that time she took the last slice of cake at prom!" Rad accused. "Seriously" Enid deadpanned again. "Among other things! Like the fact that I...uh, I lo-" Rad began nervously and Nebula clutched the counter once again.
"You know what he's going to say right?" a voice asked. "Who said that?" Nebula looked around to see Rad challenging Red Action to a power battle.
"You know who I am. Admit it, the only reason why Rad doesn't like Red Action is because he still has feelings for Enid. Face it, he's gotten bored of you. 'I lo-' is basically the start of a confession" the voice said. Nebula was thankfully pulled outside by Ko.
"Uh, Red. You don't have to do this" Enid reminded her as he stretched. "Are you kidding? Nobody disrespects me in front of my girl" she responded and Nebula let out a squeal of delight. "Without getting pounded!" Red Action said and Ko tried to hold Nebula back. "This isn't your fight Nebula. Rad challenged her so he has to fight" Ko reminded her. "Here kid, hold my belt" Red Action said as she handed Ko her belt. "That things got time capsules in it and I don't want 'em accidentally zapping me through time mid-fight" she explained. "Wish me luck Enid" she then blew Enid a kiss and Rad scoffed. "Please, you call that a good luck kiss?" he scoffed. He then walked over to Nebula. "This is a good luck kiss" he then pulled her in for a short, yet passionate kiss Ko then guided Nebula away from Rad. "Come get some!" Red Action yelled as she lunged at Rad. The two then began to fight.
"To think this fight could have been avoided if she just followed him back on social media!" Enid cried. "If only we had some way to travel back in time and get her to follow him back ourselves" Nebula cried dramatically. The trio of heroes looked at Red Action's belt that was in Ko's hands. "Ko! Get me one of those time capsules from Red's belt" Enid asked and Ko pushed the button that released a time capsule. "Alright little capsule, help us solve our problems with a portal to the past" Enid said. She threw the capsule and a square portal opened up. "Try not to kill each other while we're gone!" Nebula called and Enid pulled her through the portal.
