Chapter 99: Red Action 3: Grudgement Day Part 2
Nebula was the first to fall, then Enid, and finally Ko. "Did it work?" she groaned. "Are we in the bodega?" Ko asked as Nebula levitated him and Enid off of her. "Mean Beans?" he gasped. "I thought we stopped selling those months ago" Nebula said as she dusted herself off. "We really did travel back in time!" Ko gasped in awe. "Look, even the posts on social media are from the past!" Nebula pointed out as she showed Ko and Enid her social media.
As they were looking through all the posts, they came across a video of Ko being attacked by a green tentacle. "I remember when Red posted that video" Enid said with a laugh. "Yeah, she shouldn't have posted this, but I like it now. We all learned valuable lessons" Ko responded.
"This is it! The moment Rad follows Red on social media" Enid said when they heard Rad cheering. "Just one follower away from breaking one-hundred baby!" he cheered. Red Action then entered the bodega in a grey sweatshirt and dark blue half jeans. "Oh, Red Action! Follow for a follow?" Rad asked. "Ooh, sorry, Radicles. Forgot my phone at home" Red Action responded. "Oh, s'cool. You can just follow back later then" he said trying not to sound disappointed as Red Action walked away. "Oh no, Red Action doesn't even have her phone with her!" Ko said.
"She's lying. She never forgets her phone. She's like you Nebula" Enid remarked. "I'd be offended if I knew that wasn't true" she responded. She then summoned a shadow jutsu and got out Red Action's phone. She then followed Rad back and once Red Action's phone was back in her pocket, the shadow jutsu returned back to Enid. "To easy, now let's hurry back to the present!" Enid said and they traveled through the portal once more. "Alright! Back to the present and- oh cob they're still fighting" Nebula deadpanned and Ko and Enid saw Rad and Red Action still fighting. "Oh man, we made everything worse!" Enid exclaimed. "Should we try the prom thing?" Nebula asked and the two nodded at her. Enid opened another portal and they were transported to the plaza's prom.
"There it is! The last slice!" Enid motioned to the single piece of cake on the table. "Alright, I'm gonna go stop Red. Wait a minute" Enid paused. "Should we worry about bumping into our past selves and affecting time and stuff?" Enid asked. "Oh Enid, you ain't gotta worry about that" Ko said with a laugh. "Right Ko" he asked and another Ko's head popped out from under the table. "That's right Ko! Alternate timelines don't exist" he said.
"Yeah, unless something major happens like someone died and it caused someone else to turn evil in one timeline and if that person never died, then things would be way different!" Nebula remarked.
"Thanks for covering for me, me!" the one Ko said and the Ko that was beside Enid got out from under the table. That Ko was in a tuxedo "No problem me! I love to help!" he said as he walked away. "Ooh, speaking of help, I'll take care of Rad" he said. He then jumped onto Rad's face. "Rad! I love you!" he said and Rad struggled to gain his balance from the sudden impact. After a while of searching for something, or someone, Nebula saw Enid dancing with Past Red Action. Ko then guided Rad to the last piece of cake and forced Rad's face to the cake slice.
"Good enough!" she said and she then walked over to a dark corner where a girl with long blue hair in a blue starry dress was watching Rad with a smile and holding her phone. "You like him don't ya" she remarked and the girl looked at her. "You-you're me?!" she asked in confusion. "I sure am. Except I'm from the future" she then put an arm on the past her's back.
"Look every day I regretted never showing myself to him when I saw him at the Plaza Prom. You need to get out there and really let him know who you are! And don't even worry if he won't like you, cause he will!" she said with a wink.
She let out a whistle and Ko looked over at her. She beckoned him over and he guided Past Rad over to where she was. "Now's your chance!" she whispered into her past self's ear. She then hid from their site and levitated Ko to hide with her.
"Hey, aren't you that new girl?" Past Rad asked and Past Nebula nodded her head and put her phone in a hidden pocket of her dress. "I'm Nebula" she said as she shyly held out her hand. "Rad" he responded and he shook her hand. Ko lightly nudged Past Rad from behind and he was forced closer to Past Nebula. "So um.. Do you uh...do you wanna dance?" he asked as he held out a hand. "Judging by your moves against that robot? I'd be honored" she responded and she took his hand.
Nebula watched them dance for a moment and she smiled. "Okay, now we can go!" She then whisked Ko back to Enid. One they went through the portal and back to their time, Nebula face palmed. "Oh cob he's got his van" she exclaimed and the two heroes beside her noticed Red Action firing at Rad in her tank and Rad doing the same in his van. "This is ten times worse! Cob-dangit!" Enid exclaimed. "Then there must be a real reason why Rad doesn't like Red Action" Nebula pointed out. "That's it! Time out!" Enid yelled at the two fighting heroes paused. "Yo Red, lay off him for a sec" Enid requested. "Hey! What gives?!" Rad exclaimed as Nebula took Rad from the driver's seat to the back of his van.
"B-babe? What uh, what are you doing?" he asked nervously as she tied him up with some rope from his storage box of supplies. Enid turned the flashlight from her phone and directed it at Rad. "All right, fess up punk!" she demanded. "Fess is short for confess! Enid said so!" Ko said trying to sound stern. "Oh my cob this boy is adorable" Nebula thought.
"Come on, Rad! What do you really have against Red Action?" Enid questioned as she got close to Rad's face. "Oh cob his face is all red" Nebula thought nervously. "See? What did I tell you?" the voice from earlier pointed out. "Come on Rad, say the truth!" Enid demanded. "Well, uh, because!" Rad said nervously. "Tell her Rad" Ko whispered creepily.
"I...I-because...I lo...lo" Rad began nervously and Nebula clutched her chest. "Oh cob, this is it!" Nebula thought, starting to panic.
"I loathed that time she tricked Ko into playing in lava then put it on social media for people to make fun of!" he yelled and Nebula fell back. "Thank cob he didn't confess" she breathed out quietly. "And everyone pretends like it never happened! But I remember! I remember! I know it's not my business but I took it personally, okay?" Rad responded and Nebula hugged his tied up figure. "Oh Raddie" she cooed softly.
"What, that's it! This was all about that video?" Enid asked. "You mean this?" Ko asked as he pulled up the video. "It was a little humiliating, but it's a precious memory of when I first met The Alley Teens!" Ko responded fondly. "You know, Rad's right… that was pretty messed up" Nebula remarked. "Yeah! How very noble of you for caring Rad. It's sweet of you, too" Enid praised and she pat his head. "Come on guys, let's bring Red to the past and fix this once and for all!" Enid said and Nebula untied Rad.
Enid told Red Action what Rad had said and Red Action let out a sigh. "I guess it was pretty crummy of me to do that" she admitted sheepishly. "So you'll come with us and change the past" Nebula asked and Red Action nodded. Enid opened another portal and they were taken back in time.
"Ugh, there I am" Red Action said as she motioned to the Past Red Action who was laughing at Past Drupe tormenting Past Ko. "Can't we go further back in time to stop myself from getting that nasty haircut instead?" Red Action insisted. "No!" Rad and Nebula said in unison. "Red, focus. You wanna stop fighting with Rad, don't you?" Enid asked. "Now go!" Nebula then pushed Red Action towards her past self.
"Yo Red Action from the past!" Red Action called. "Hey, it's ya girl- Red from the future and I was wondering if you could do us a solid and maybe don't post that video you're about to post" Red Action requested. "What? Seriously? Is this some kind of time travel future fates thing? What happens if I do? Tsunami? Armageddon?" Past Red Action asked.
"It'll give an unimportant person a very bad impression of you. But even if he is unimportant to you right now, he, like, has a point! Messing with little kids is a really jerky thing to do and trust me, we'll be really sorry for doing it" Red Action explained.
"Yeah, all right. Take it away, little guy" Past Red Action said and a small white figure appeared from out of her hair and deleted the video.
They then went through the portal one last time. Nebula was standing with Rad as he and Red Action talked. "Whatever your workout plan is, I need to do it 'cause your abs are just amazing! You're like a god!" Red Action praised. "I know right? And I tell him that every day! But aside from working out, you also need to eat right too! Can't let any bad food ruin your progress" Nebula commented. "Yeah and as a fellow crop-top aficionado, you're looking pretty shredded yourself" Rad praised and the trio then laughed. Rad and Red Action then began to laugh even harder. "Oh Enid, there you are!" Red Action called. "Rad and I were planning on going jelly surfing today!" Red Action explained and she and Rad got out two surfboards from behind the counter. "So what do ya say? Wanna make it a double date?" Red Action asked. "Oh? Uh, okay!" Enid responded. "Great! What do you say we all get out swimsuits and stuff and then meet back here in twenty?" Nebula suggested. "Sounds good!" Red Action replied. They all then went their separate ways and twenty minutes later they were in Rad's van, on their way to the jelly surfing site. "Ha! Figures you two would match" Red Action commented once they were all changed into their swimsuits. Rad and Nebula's swimsuits were red with pink trim. "Well, why are we standing around when there's perfectly good jelly just waiting to be surfed!" Nebula took Rad by the arm and brought him into the jelly lagoon.
Rad sat on the surfboard with Nebula behind him. "Awh, we can't forget you Ko" she said as she levitated Ko onto the front of the surfboard. They all watched as Red Action and Enid came in on a small jelly wave. "Now you're gettin' it! You got it! You got it" Red Action praised as she was teaching Enid how to jelly surf. "I lost it!" Enid remarked as she lost her balance and pulled Red Action into the jelly. They emerged and held onto the surfboard as they laughed. Nebula's grip on Rad tightened when she saw how they were looking at each other once they stopped laughing. The two females shared a kiss and Nebula cheered and she unknowingly let go of the surfboard and she fell into the jelly. Rad laughed and levitated Nebula back onto the surfboard. "See? Aren't you glad that you didn't go with Professor Venomous today?" Rad asked as he paddled over to Red Action and Enid
"Wow!I support this" Rad said and Nebula let out a giggle. "We support you too weirdo" Enid responded. "Oh Rad, isn't it wonderful? We have another couple to go on double dates with!" She said excitedly as she leaned against him. "Yeah! It is pretty cool!" He responded. He then covered Ko's ears and made sure his head was still before he and Nebula shared a kiss of their own. "I'm glad we finally fixed the beef between you two" Enid said as Rad let go of Ko's head. "And I couldn't have done it without…" she then paused when she saw Ko crying.
"Ko? Buddy, what's wrong?" Nebula asked as she pet his head the best she could from behind Rad. "I know we changed time stuff multiple times to make things better" Ko began in tears. "Multiple?" Rad asked. "But now I won't be able to watch that video anymore! And that makes me sad" Ko responded sadly. "Oh, Ko. That video may be gone, but the memories are still in your dome piece!" Enid explained. "You are so wise Enid" Ko said in awe. "Well, I don't really like that memory anyway" Rad said.
"Yeah! Cause now that Rad and Red aren't fighting, we can make even more memories!" Nebula commented happily. "Yeah! So what do you say we make a new one! With more of me in it!" Rad suggested as he got out his phone. "Come on Enid, you gotta say it!" Nebula insisted. "Oh alright" Enid sighed. "Ready everyone?" Rad asked. "You know what to say. On the count of three" Nebula began as Rad held the phone out. "One...two…three!" He and Nebula said in unison. "Cowabunga!" Everyone said and as Rad took the picture, Nebula kissed his cheek while Ko climbed up onto his shoulder. Rad sent everyone the picture and they continued to surf and play in the jelly lagoon
Once they all watched the sun set on the jelly lagoon, Nebula leaned against Rad and wrapped her arms loosely around his torso. "I'd say this was a great end to a great day. Don't you think?" She asked softly. "Yeah" Rad then turned his head and he smiled when he saw her eyes closed and a small smile graced her lips. He then heard her breathing slow down and he chuckled softly. "Hey Enid" Rad called softly. "Yeah?" Enid responded quietly as she looked at him. Rad slowly paddled over to her and put a hand on her shoulder as he said…
"Welcome to the club!"
This episode made me SOO happy! I LOVE Red Action and Enid and I was ecstatic to see that they were together!
