Chapter 107: A Fond Farewell
"For the last time, the name is Negula" Negula roared and inside her mind, Nebula was fighting off dark figures. "Hang on guys!" she called when she heard their chanting. "Everyone's counting on me" she said as she fought the dark figures with every last ounce of her strength. The figures disappeared and in their place was a music box.
The music box was circular and had intricate designs of snowflakes and stars on it. Nebula noticed a small slot on the side of it. "There must be a key somewhere around here..." she said and she began to search for the key.
On the outside, the dome was shrinking and Shadowy Venomous was scolding Negula. "Don't you think I'm trying?" Negula grunted. "Well try harder missy" Shadowy Venomous scolded as he continued to fend off IceBreaker. "Well maybe if you stopped nagging at me and actually helped, we wouldn't be having this conversation" Negula argued and the dome disappeared.
Shadowy Venomous pushed IceBreaker to the ground and scowled at Negula. "Did you just talk back to me?" he asked warningly. "No duh! So what if I did, what are you gonna do, ground me?" Negula remarked smugly. "Ooh I'm so scared" she said sarcastically and Shadowy Venomous let out a growl. "Don't forget Daddykins, I'm the one with all the power" she said smugly and Shadowy Venomous became enraged. "I think you are forgetting your place, girly" he warned as he took her face in his hand. Negula smirked and spat in his face. The crowd was heard "ooh"ing and Shadowy Venomous lifted Negula up by her sash. "Don't' forget, I made you! And once you've fulfilled your purpose, you will do my bidding" He then dropped her onto the ground. "And all will bow to me! The most powerful being on the planet!" He then laughed maniacally and IceBreaker released a large beam of light blue energy at him.
"What the?" she wondered as a dark blob came out of his mouth. Shadowy Venomous landed on the ground and IceBreaker noticed that he was back to being Professor Venomous once again. Professor Venomous gasped as Negula squished the blob with her boot and the blob disappeared. "You said we were partners, that we were to be the most famous father-daughter duo in history! But I guess I was nothing more than a pawn in your stupid plan!" Negula then blasted a beam of ice at Professor Venomous. "You used me! Well, no more! This bird is flying solo and this planet's power is all for me and I'm gonna disempower everyone so thoroughly that not even a speck of energy will remain!" She then held her palm out to him. "And I'm starting with you, daddy" she spat. "Do your worst kid" Professor Venomous said and Fink got in front of him. "Fink! I thought that I told you to stay back!" IceBreaker called. "Fink! Get out of here!" Professor Venomous urged. "Sorry Mom Boss and Boss, but what kind of minion would I be if I didn't stand by your side till the very end?" Fink responded through tears.
"Makes no difference to me!" Negula scoffed and IceBreaker fell to the ground when Negula zapped Fink. "See you 'round Boss and thanks for everything mom" Fink said as she disappeared. IceBreaker wept violently and Negula zapped Professor Venomous. "Now then, who's next?" she asked sickeningly and she turned to IceBreaker. "How about you, mommy" she then raised her hand to her as she did to Fink and Professor Venomous.
Back inside her mind, Nebula was still searching for the key when she noticed Negula zapping people. "I need to find that key! But where is it?!" she then came across a small key. She gasped happily and she inserted it into the slot. "Here we go...Hopefully this will get her to stop, to get her attention at the most" she said as she slowly opened the lid.
A soft melody played and an image of a newborn Nebula in a large incubating tube was seen. Bianca was seen looking at her through tears as she had a hand on the glass. Laserblast without his helmet came up beside her and put a hand on her shoulder. He then pulled her into his arms and she wept. "I think I remember this song" Nebula gasped.
Outside of her mind, the melody was heard and IceBreaker gasped and Negula remained still.
"Let's go in the garden
You'll find something waiting
Right there where you left it lying upside down" she sang through tears carefully as she slowly approached Negula.

Where everything stays" Negula began to unknowingly sing and tears began to stream down her face as she sunk to the ground. She then went silent as IceBreaker continued to sing. Another voice then joined in. Everyone looked where the new voice was coming from to see Bianca's mom coming towards them.
"Let's go in the forest
All the birds are singing
Had them play for you a very special sound
So if you're ever frightened
Let their melody protect you
For they will bring you to me when the sun goes down

Once the song ended, the females carefully hugged Negula and held her close as she cried. "Wh-what is this? Why am I crying?" Negula questioned as she touched her tear stained face. "Make it stop!" she cried and a large dark blue dome formed around her and zapped IceBreaker, Bianca's mother, Mr. Gar, and Carol who were holding Enid, Ko, and Rad who also got zapped. Negula then got onto her hands and knees as the tears continued to fall.
"Negula!" Nebula cried from inside her mind and Negula was transported to Nebula. "What are you doing?" Negula demanded as the music box's lid slowly closed. "I know you heard that. We had a way to control our anger, but we had it buried deep within our memories" Nebula then ran over to Negula and hugged her. "I'm so sorry!" Nebula cried and Negula rolled her eyes. "Yeah right! After what I just did?" she scoffed.
"Negula, I always thought that you were just this angry thing that existed inside me that was put there by someone else. I tried to suppress you when I couldn't control you. Heck, I even tried to get rid of you! But the more I tried to treat you like someone else, the worse it got. I need to accept that truth that you're not just a part of me, you are me! And I'm you!" Nebula declared and Negula smirked as they began to glow.
"It was that easy huh?" Negula scoffed lightly. "Yeah, took us long enough right?" Nebula laughed. The two then hugged and Nebula was returned back to normal, her hair even returned back to being long.
She slowly opened her eyes and was greeted by the dark orange and red sky. "Hello? Is anybody here? Rad? Enid? Ko? Mr. Gar? Carol? Anyone?!" she cried. "Oh no, what have I done?" she cried when she noticed that she was all alone.
"You won the tournament young blood!" A voice responded and Nebula looked up to see an extremely tall male with blonde hair in a white and red disco suit.
"Can you dig it? Outta sight! Aw yeah baby!" he said as he began to dance. "How's it feel?" he asked and Nebula began to cry. "Awful!" she cried. "That's not very groovy" the male said and Nebula wiped away some of her tears. "I don't even care about winning some stupid tournament, Mr. President. Nothing means anything without the people I love. Like Rad, the love of my life and the man who I wanted to spend the rest of eternity with. And Enid and Ko, my best friends" she then began to name the rest of her friends and how much they meant to her.
"Well, lucky for you little lady, tournament winners get one wish" he said as he picked a radiant star out of his ear and held it out to Nebula. "You mean that I can wish for anything?" she asked hopefully as she gently took the star and he nodded. Nebula then took a deep breath.
"Now that I've finally accepted the dark part of myself, I can live my best life with everyone that I love" she said and the star began to glow. "I wish that everyone else gets to live their best lives too" Nebula wished as she held the star. It shone brightly and everything went back to normal before Nebula's eyes. She gasped happily as she noticed that all damage was fixed and everyone was back.
"Rad!" She gasped happily when she noticed him. Rad turned to the sound of her voice and before he could say anything, Nebula had embraced him in a hug. He smiled softly and held her close to him. They pulled away and Nebula pulled him in for a long kiss. Nebula smiled when she looked through one of Boxmore's large windows and saw the residents of Boxmore wearing cowboy hats and celebrating.
The President of the Universe then approached Nebula and brought her to his realm and showed her the lives of everyone though a large disco ball. Nebula wiped away a tear when she saw Bianca with her parents, Solana, and other heroes celebrating. "Hey, Mr. President, what happened to Professor Venomous and Fink?" Nebula asked. "That jive turkey wanted to be the most powerful person on the planet, so I gave him just that! After all, he never did specify what planet" He explained and he pointed to the section where Professor Venomous was blasting buildings with his old helmet while Fink used a ray gun. "I gave him a planet of his very own that will always reform. They can destroy that planet all they want and then do it all again the next day" he explained. A glorb then floated near Nebula.
"So, one last thing. Just what is the deal with these glorbs?" she asked as she held the glorb out to him.
"Ah, I'm mighty glad that you asked. You see, I infused your wonderful world with a powerful energy so that everything would be as fun as possible" he explained as he turned the glorb into a model of Earth. "It's why you, your mother, and all your friends have special powers and why you can do things like this" he then took her and squashed her flat in between his hands and stretched her out by her limbs and Nebula laughed. "So fun comes from glorbs!" she said.
"You know, some folks just want to take the fun away from everybody! But you and your friends want to bring people together and make living life as fun as it can be! Thank you Nebula" he then places a small golden tiara on her head. "You and your friends are the truest heroes I ever did see" he said. "Now go on and live your life" he said and a large star then appeared under her. With a blow to the star, Nebula was sent back to Lakewood.
