Oneshot
Bonding
Ben Tennyson sat on the counch with a bored look yawning while he was sitting upside down with is legs on the back of the chair and staring at the tv and playing video games. He'd been like that for quite some time just staring at the screen and playing the game bored as someone walked through the front door, he'd assumed it was one of his parents. But a slender figure walked up and cleared her throat annoyed at him. Looking up he saw his cousing looking annoyed seeing him like that.
"How long have you been playing games like that?" His Redheaded cousin questioned looking at him with her arms crossed disapprovingly.
"Um.." He began thinking looking at the clock and trying to remember when exactly he'd started. "Awhile?"
Rolling her eyes in response to this statement she sighed and then spoke to her cousin she was there to visit. "Turn it off, you need to give your eyes a break."
Sighing Ben hit save and once it was done turned off the game passing the remote over to Gwen before speaking. "So what brings you here today anyway?"
"I'm staying the wekend." Gwen then responded to his question about why she's there gesturing to her backpack she had sitting on the floor. "Don't tell me you forgot that our parents were all going out for a weekend thing?"
"I thought that was next week." Ben then responded sitting up normally and scooting over to let his redheaded cousin sit down on the couch too.
"Nope, it's this weekend. Remember your parents invited mine along with them to some weird retreat?" She then reminded him about what they were doing this weekend. "I'll take my stuff to the guest room."
"I'll.." Began to speak the brown haired young man as his stomach began to growl causing him to look down at it and sigh. "I'll go find something in the kitchen, I just realized I haven't eaten since breakfast."
Rulling her eyes Gwen then sighed and headed off to unpack her stuff in the guest bedroom while Ben headed off into the kitchen to see if he could find anything other than the stuff his mother tries to pass off as food. It's not that she doesn't care more like she's a crazed health nut that will believe almost anything that she reads online. And MAN does it ever taste horrible. Still digging through the cabinets he'd managed to find at least something that he could throw together with the various ingredients and began to cook.
"Something smells good." Gwen spoke as she came downstairs making her way into the kitchen having changed into a sleeveless green top with jean short short and her hair tied into a pony tail. She'd decided not to bother with shoes since they weren't going anywhere anytime soon anyway.
"Thankfully mom left something normal around the kitchen that we could eat instead of having to go on over to the store or ordering something for delivery." Ben stated to his cousin about what he'd been doing.
"You cook?" She questioned as a look of surprise overtook her face seeing as how that was something she didn't really see Ben doing.
"When you gotta deal with mom's cooking, you tend to either learn to cook yourself or starve." He then half joked about his mother's healthly habbits and how nasty they are.
"Ben that's horrible." She spoke laughing at his joke about his mother's cooking before trying some of his cooking. "Oh wow, this is actually good."
"Naturally, Cooking is a survival skill after all." The spoke her cousin while modestly bragging about his skills as he sat at the table with his own plate and began enjoying himself.
The two of them enjoyed the food and then headed off to the living room where Ben walked over to pick up the remote only for Gwen to run over and snatch it instead sticking her tongue out at him and playing keep away whenever he tried to reach for it. He'd begun to get frustrated while reaching for it as she stepped back as he reached forward. She'd turned it onto some girly fake dating show of someking annoying her cousin since he hated those shows.
"Really?" He questioned his cousin with a sigh annoyed seeing the show she'd put it onto, she knew he hated those things.
"Nyeh." She spoke sticking her tongue out at him and laughing at her cousin's reaction to her acting so childish.
"Oh it's like that is it?" Ben questioned laughing and took a step forwards as Gwen then took a step back away from her cousin still laughing. "Oh that's it."
Gwen just stuck her tongue out again and blew raspberries at Ben in response before laughing, then she noticed his expression and spoke. "Ben, no." She spoke stepping back as he stepped forwards. "No, Ben no." She spoke before being chased down the hall by her cousin towards the gues room.
"Nowhere to go now." Ben then spoke as he moved closer to his cousin cutting off her escape route to the door. "Surrender the Remote."
"Never!" Spoke the readhead as she was holding the remote control out of Ben's Reach behind her not giving it up to her cousin.
Laughing he lunghed at his cousin and began tickling her, causing her to begin laughing. "I warned you." Ben spoke continuing to tickle her while laughing as well.
"B..Ben, Sto,Stop." Gwen continued to laugh as Ben was tickling her while she was trying to get away. "Sto-ohop."
"Give up?" He questioned her as he just continued his onslaught as the redhead before him continued to squirm trying to escape.
"NOoo." Refused his cousin as she was about to fall over and grabbed onto Ben causing him to fall over with her as the two of them then fell onto the bed with Ben now on top of her in a rather awkward situation.
The two got quiet realizing the awkward situation they were currently in and then began to snicker followed by laughing as Ben rolled over so that he was now laying onto the bed beside her with his hands behind his head being used as a pillow. "You remember how we used to fight if we ended up in a situation like that as kids?"
"Ya, but we've matured since then, or, at least I have." Gwen teased looking over at Ben with a teasing smug look on her face.
"Ouch." He then laughed hearing her teasing him as the two just relaxed on the bed having a good time together just hanging out. "But it's nice just hanging out like this."
"Ya." She agreed scooting over and resting her head on his chest getting comfortable on the bed. "It's been hectic with the whole highbreed thing going on. But at least we get one weekend to be normal."
