The birth of the blades
Isha face ahead of her, eyes closed as she tried to feel that familiar darkness, but found none. That familiar dark aura wasn't any where close to here, which both relaxed her and made her anxious. It seemed her mother wasn't among them and she hoped she wouldn't come at all. They were in a bad situation already, her mothers presence would just make things worst. Then again her mother always tended to appeared when she had big plans or when she knew she needed to be there. It was both a blessing and curse. Her not being here only meant she was somewhere else done who knows what.
"How could they have found us?" Lion-O question as he looked at the army before them. They had just set the slaves free and where ready to head out and hide the sword of Plun-darr when they found them self with this new problem.
Panthro stood behind Lion-O looking at the army threw his hand telescope. "To late to worry about that now," he replied as turn to him. "If we move fast. We might be able to slip using the same trail as the cat slaves."
"Are you crazy?!" the puma exclaimed as she turn toward them. "You want to bring Mumm-Ra straight to them! We didn't free our people just to see them slaughter."
"Do you have a better plan?" Lion-O asked.
"If it's the sword of Pun-darr and gauntlet he's after." Pumyra began as she looked at him, "Let's use them to draw his forces into the mine. I know it's tunnels systems better than anyone. It'll give the slaves time to escape."
"If were caught Mumm-Ra will have everything he needs to rule Third Earth," Panthro replied not liking the female cats idea.
"Then let's not get caught," she simply replied before turning towards Lion-O. "I know its dangerous but you own it to your people... your majesty."
Lion-O look down as he ponders on the females words. Aideen could already tell what he was going to say. She didn't like the way the puma was making him do what she wanted with just using her words. The way she spoke with that tone that, she was sure, made him remembered that he had fail her. Not wanting to fail his people again she knew he would take her advise. Touching his arm his attention turn to her, "You know the risk we can be taking by doing what she said," the girl said as she turn to Pumyra who narrow her eyes at her. She turn back to him as she ignored the pumas look, "I think we should find another way out."
"That is the only way," the puma replied.
Aideen turn to her and narrow her eyes. She just seemed to persistent to want to go into the tunnel it was quite questionable, "I don't believe so. If we go in there we can easily get caught by them. I mean no disrespect, but I don't believe you know the way. There many tunnels and we could easily get caught or get our self's trap in there."
Pumray growled at the girl but Aideen didn't backed away. Isha, being right next to her cousin, turn to her with slight widen eyes at seeing the girls narrowed eyes. She hadn't see Aideen reacted like this before. No, there was one time where she had reacted like this but it only happen on rare occasions. But right now her actions sent bad signs to her. She had already notice the changes in her after their encounter with Alchy and whatever magic she had used on her.
Pumyra huffed at the alien girl. "Right, because you've been in this tunnels before."
"I don't need to be have been a slave and have been in the tunnels to know that it's a bad idea," Aideen stated as she crossed her arms. "Look, all I'm saying is that there's still that possibility."
"Why would you have a saying in this if your not even a cat," Pumyra turn to Lion-O. "Well, my lord, what is it that you wish to do."
Aideen stared at her with hurt in her eyes before turning away from them. She didn't think she could have felt so out of place with them and now she felt exactly that. Pumyras words hurt her because she knew she was right. What saying does she have in this matter? She wasn't apart of them and yet she had felt she was. "You've been longer with them. You know them more than she does. Why should she have a saying in this? her mind seemed to tell her. She clenched her fist as that thought rotted itself in her mind. Why should she feel left out when she has been the one to always be by their side. Anger raised withing her, a feeling she had never felt before, as she thought of the possibility that Lion-O would listen to her and at the fact that he hasn't said anything to the pumas comment. Even if She wasn't a cat, or at lest not one of Lion-O's people she had been with them the longest. A part of her still believed that he would listen to her and hear her advise.
The lion looked at Aideen who had looked a way from him. He knew she was worried that this plan couldn't work a part of him told him to listen to her, that she was right. She was always right. But, to him, Pumyra was also right. He didn't free his people only for them to get caught by Mumm-Ra. This was perhaps one of the hardest decisions he had to make. Letting out a sigh he turn to Isha, "Do you think your mother is there?" he asked.
Isha looked from her cousin to him her expression was a mix of worry and offensive look. He was sure she was worried about her cousin. "First, don't call her my mother. She was nothing like a mother to me. Second, no she's not. I don't think she won't be coming at all." She bit her lip as she set her eyes on the horizon, "its a relief and quite worry some."
The lion nodded before thinking about what to do. He knew what she meant, not seeing Alchy here could only mean she was up to something. After a few minutes he let out a deep breath as the two girl waited for his answer. "Panthro, you Cheetara, Tygra, and Isha get to the tank," he said. "Pumyra, Aideen, and I will catch up once we lose them in the mins." He turn to Aideen, "unless you wish to go with them."
The girl turn to him at having heard his command. He saw a disappointing look mix by sadness before it was replace by a blank look. She raised an eyebrow at him, "you want me to come with you?"
He nodded, ignoring the emotions he had seen, "you always have a back up plan in case things go wrong. I truest you can help us in case it does. Not to mention I trust you."
Aideen didn't say anything, even though she wanted to. Yet, you truest her more, she thought angrily and sadly. No matter what, she needed to calm down and not say or do anything that she could regret later. He didn't even say anything about pumyras comment. It seemed he has began to truest her more. She shook her head before looking at him and nodding. She shouldn't be having those thoughts.
"Are you sure you want to risk this?" Panthro question as they all looked at Lion-O with doubt. Not only was he taking the gantlet and sword as bait but he was also taking Aideen. They knew the mummy wanted her and with the three together it was like the lion was giving them to him in a silver plate. "I don't want your emotions to-"
"I'm sure," the lion interrupted. Panthro gave a nod, but Isha wasn't about to back down. She stepped in front of the cat with narrowed eyes.
The older girl trusted him-she really did- but she wasn't about to let her cousins life be at risk only because he believed the new cat and thought she was right. She had see the look the puma had given him and could feel darkness within her. Her intentions were yet uncleared and she wasn't about to let Lion-O be played again. Then again if he wanted to follow her, Isha knew she couldn't do anything to stop him from choosing his path. What worried her was that, not only would he be choosing his, but he would help Alchy get Aideen. Alchy always knew how to play with people, how to use their weaknesses against them. And whatever she had done to Aideen it seemed to be taking its effect on her as well.
"I will just tell you something, and I hope that it stays with you, and makes you think carefully about your actions," she said. Already the look in her cousins eyes told her the young girl wouldn't change her mind about going with him. She at lest wanted him to think about his actions and the consequence his chooses had on all of them. The lion gave a nod and waited for her to continue. "Aideens father," the young girl looked up at the mention of her father, "once said this to me, "a king's life is no longer his, but rather it is also the peoples. Once he had made a choice- it can be between life or death- that choice effect his people. No matter what, one must not always think with his heart or head but with both." The choices you make not only effect you but everyone else as well."
The lion gave a nod after a few seconds. He turn towards Pumyra as they began to ran to the opposite way from were the tank was. Aideen turn back to her cousin before following soon after.
As they followed Pumyra, Aideen couldn't help but get a bad feeling about all of this. Going into the tunnels may perhaps been the worst idea lion-O had agreed to. She was sure that thanks to the path they had taken Mumm-Ra would be getting the sword. No matter if they were able to ran away from him. He was going to get what he came here for. She looked at the two cat. She hated that he had listened to her. How long had he spent with her? No more than a couple of days! You've been with him months! You were there when thundera had fallen. When Jaga had sacrificed himself for him. Heck! You almost dies because of him! and now he chose to listen to someone else above you?! She looked down as she tried to shake that angry feeling she was getting. It didn't matter how long she was with him, Lion-O was their leader she couldn't question his decisions. But he's not your leader.
"Why does it feel like coming in here was a mistake?" the lion commented. A small light in his hand light the way fro them.
"Well, if you had came for the slaves in the first place we wouldn't be ruining for out lives," pumyra replied.
Aideen rolled her eyes, "She treats him like this and yet he follows what she says. What is he trying to achieve from this?" she question.
"You're never gonna give me a brake, are you?" the lion replied.
"You've got a lot to make up for, your majesty," Pumyra said as she looked at him.
Aideen frowned before her eyes widen as the sword began to glow. Lion-O stop and looked back as Aideen got closer. The puma felt them not following her and turn to them before walking back, "What's it doing?" she asked.
"The sword is connected to Mumm-Ra," he narrow his eyes, "he's calling to it. It's evil, Pumyra. I can feel it. All the death and distraction it took to create it."
Aideen looked at the swords glow as she felt mesmerized by its glowing color. It felt as if the soft purple light was fulling her, calling her. She retried her hand as she looked away and shook her head. Something wasn't right. Why did she feel drown to it? "We better continue," she suggested and ignored the worry look the lion was giving her. They kept walking with Aideen ignoring the way the sword glowed.
Neither one of them noticed the dark shadow with red eyes that smirked at the way the human girl had reacted to the sword. It slowly followed them keeping away and only observing.
Juliet cover her eyes with her hand as she tried to block out all of the fear she had at the moment. She couldn't stop thinking about the plans that Alchy had for her. What were her intentions? She thought the only reason why she was here was in order to kill Aideen. She was beginning to realize that her life was endanger the longer she believe Alchy. The longer she stayed here. She turn to her side as she wonder what she was going to do. Her soul seemed to become trouble as the days passed. Her eyes slowly closed as she tried to sleep and push away the fear that was beginning to claw in her mind.
Behira looked at the scene before her. Everyone's suffering and misery she could feel it. Their hurt their losing hope and the life of those who had died withing this walls. She could feel it all. And she could do nothing but stand and watch it unfold. Watched everything without making a move. Without knowing what to do, except try to comfort them. But what could comfort give them if in the next seconds they were treated like dirt. She felt hopeless. 'If I ever get the chance to change this I will take it no matter what,' she thought. With a sigh the young queen stood up from her chair. She walked towards the door and decided to make a visit to a friend.
As she walked along those cold echoing walls she couldn't help but remember the lives of her people and how they were taken from them. She as queen and priest should have been able to stop them but she didn't. Mumm-Ra had used the two stones to over power her killing all of her sibling and parents. All those she was close too, then threaten to kill the remaining of her people. She couldn't allow him to do that. She knew what he was after and she knew how she could stop him from getting it but she didn't stop herself from living because she knew if she did there would be no hope for the rest of the species. She decided to think of a way to save them all and yet... she was still imprison by the ancient mummy and now it wasn't just her life in the line.
"A planet of your own?" the queen heard. She looked at who was closed by already knowing who the voice belong to. And hopping that a certain someone was not with her. "Is that what your soul is worth, Leo?"
"What are you talking about?" the lion asked in confusion from her words. Behira's hand clenched as she remember that voice. It came from the man that had killed her people and destroyed her planet. She walked closer towards them making sure that they hadn't spotted her yet.
The panther turn to him, "The distraction of one more civilization so he can have his precious stone!"
Leo's eyes widen as he shushed her and looked around making sure no one was around. "We don't like it when you talk like this, panthera," he said, "Mumm-Ra need this stone to bring order to the universe.
"Then why has his persecute of order only brought chaos?" she question.
"This is treason!" the cat exclaimed with wide eyes, "He's our master. Who are we to question him?"
"If we don't, Leo, who will?" the panther asked.
Behira clenched her fist in anger and frustration. She showed herself to them making them turn to her and give a bow. Before Leo could say anything she spoke. "What had Mumm-Ra done now?!" she asked with anger.
Leo turn to Behira at seeing her angry eyes. Panthera turn to her and gave a low bow, Leo soon followed. "My lady-"
"Panthera, what has Mumm-ra done or is about to do?" the shannen queen asked.
Leo glanced at the female panther before he turn to the queen. He knew her anger for him was great but she was never one to fully hold in the anger. Her people were known for not letting darkness into their hearts. And she was one of their kindness queen and was willing to make the biggest sacrifice for her people.
Behira glared at him before she turn to Panthera, "Panthera what is going on?" she question making clear her voice told her not to lie.
"Lord Mumm-Ra found the stone and has asked to get it, but by doing so-" She didn't even have time to finish as Behira already knew what she was going to say.
Her eyes twinkled with unspoken anger. She had given herself to him in order for no more chaos to happen, but it seemed her sacrifice was in vain. Before she could even talk or move to find the mummy a hand grabbed her arm. She turn to see Cato looking down at her, "Lady, Behira please head back you room."
"What?!" she said. "Let go of me!" she took her arm out of his hold. Sadness flashed before her eyes before they were replace by a blank look. "I'm going to see Mumm-Ra." She began to walk towards the main hall but was stop once again by Cato. "What-!" she was lifted onto his arms in bridal form, her rumbling stop as he looked down at her.
"Forgive me," he said, "but lord Mumm-Ra has order to not be disturbed." She was being carried by the cat but didn't complain. Her checks were pink with a soft blush but her eyes were sadder than the day her planet had been destroyed.
They continue to head down the tunnels with Pumyra leading the way. At this point Aiden sure Pumyra knew the way. It felt as if she was just leading them on a path she didn't eve know. She felt irritated and annoyed that they were even following her. Why should they? She had just gotten here and yet Lion-O had his attention all over her. Even if he knew the best choice was to go the same way as the slaves went and hid the sword, he decided to follow her. He didn't even notice that Aideen was behind him. Not even gave her a glace. Other times he made sure that she was with him by his side if not that at least she was with his brother. After all two people were after her. And why was it annoying her so much? You know why. She shook her head. No, it shouldn't matter to her. It shouldn't effect her like this after all she made her choose as well.
"This tunnels all look the same,"Lion-O commented before turning to look at Pumyra, "You sure you know where you're going."
"I doubt she knows,"Aideen mutter as she looked around her. Her hands were clenched at the annoyance she was feeling. Not just towards the cat but towards herself as well. She had said she was going to back off. To forget about her feeling. She didn't need to feel love towards someone else, not again. She had just told herself and him that a few hours ago. And yet those feeling were turning into something else, something she didn't understand. She hated it.
"Perhaps you should lead us out, your majesty," Puma said as she glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. "After all you've done such a great job at that so far."
Lion-O frowned, "Let just focus on keeping ahead of Mumm-Ra's generals." As soon as he finish saying that an explosion destroyed the walls of the tunnels they were in. Aideen looked up before the waves from the explosion pushed her and the other's away.
Aideen began to caught as she stood up, the dusk getting in her nose and mouth. She looked at the hole in the wall before her eyes widen. Kaynar was standing in front of them with a few lizards by his side. "Here, kitty kitty," he taunted with a crazy smile before laughing. His crazy laughter echoed across the caves walls. He turn back to them as they all stood up. Lion-O put himself in front of Aideen and besides Pumyra. The jackal looked at them, "ah-ah-ah, that sword doesn't belong to you," he took a few steps towards them.
Aideen took her two swords out as the jackal looked at her with a crazy smile. Lion-O glanced at her from the corner of his eye before turning back to him. He couldn't let him get the sword or Aideen. "Maybe not but this one does," he unsheathe his sword, small lighting sparked on the blade.
"Your like a toy that never brakes," Kaynar said before he let out a maniac laugh and ran towards him. "I love it!" he clashed his spear with the lions sword and began attacking him. The other lizards began to fire at her and Pumyra.
Aideen used her swords to block all of the lasers being shoot at her. She hid behind a rock and waved her hand up trying to summon her powers but nothing happen. Looking down at her hands she frowned and tried it once more but again nothing happen. "What's happening?! Why isn't it working!" She let out a groan of frustration before reattaching her swords and taking out a pair of throwing knifes. She threw it at them hitting their guns and making them explode.
Lion-O called out to them, both moved behind him. "Stay close," he said before unleash the red beam of light onto the caves. Rocks fell down as the red light hit the caves ceiling.
"Are you trying to kill us?!" the Puma exclaimed.
"Truest me!" he said back. Aideen looked as the many rocks fell around them and onto the lizards. Lion-O raised his gauntlet as the spirit stone made a shield around them. As the rumbling stop they looked around. Lizards lay under the piles of rocks. "That'll slow them down, but we have to keep moving." They nodded in agreement. "As long as we have this sword Mumm-Ra can find us."
"I still think this was a bad idea," Aideen stated.
Pumyra frowned at her but didn't say anything and instead kept walking. Lion-O turn to her, "There's no turning around now. We have to keep on moving," he replied.
"We wouldn't need to turn around if we had just thought of another solution." She thought as she followed them. Her frustration began to turn into anger. She knew it was bad to be in here. She felt it. So, why didn't he listen to her when she warn him. He's attracted to the puma that's why.
Juliet groan before turning around. She tried to wake up but the dream was pulling her in. At first she had thought nothing of it but now the dream seemed odd to her. She wonder why she was dreaming this. Why did she need to know this? How was she dreaming this? Behira wasn't her ancestor so why ?
"What do you think your doing?!" she question. Once Cato had taken her to her room and locked the door did he put her down. In an instant she moved far away from him. "You remember what you said, don't you? That you wouldn't touch me?!" She remember those words clearly because it was those words that had killed her from the inside. How could he have said that to her. After what they felt for one another.
His expression sadden, but he didn't move closer to her. "Lord, Mumm-Ra has order for you to stay in your room. You are to not leave without him summoning you," he said.
She looked at him with clenched hands as the sadness deepen in her eyes. He was just here to make sure that she did as Mumm-Ra said. What had she been expecting? For him to come back and kiss her like he had so many months ago? To tell her that he care for her like all those times he had whisper or declared to her when they were alone? If that was what her heart wanted to hear then she was a fool. A fool who feel in love with a man she knew she couldn't have. "Is that all?" she whispered.
Cato stayed were he was not moving or speaking. She could feel his eyes on her, but she had already turn away from him. Looking at him only broke her heart more. She shouldn't be thinking about him at all. She should be worried about the many slaves and the lives that were going to be sent to the other side all because of a persons selfishness. That's what she should be worried about. Her mind should be on that, but her heart longed for him.
"That is all," she heard him say. His voice back to that old emotionless voice she had heard from him the first time she meet him. The obedient voice he had used back then. It had taken her a while before she trusted him and for him to talk to her as if they had always known each other. Both had felt that pull that drew them together. They spent countless times together making it hard for them to keep ignoring each others presence and soon they both just fell in love. She could still remember the kiss they had shared. The small touches of affection.
She needed to get rid of that. Standing straight she took a deep breath and then turn to him. He was still standing even after he had spoken he showed no signs of wanting to move. "Do you believe this was a mistake?" she asked.
There was a silence, his eyes looked away from her. Her heart beat fast as she thought of the possibility that he would change his mind. But he wouldn't.. "Yes," he replied as he looked at her in the eyes. "I serve Mumm-Ra and Mumm-Ra only."
For a second the world had shatter again, just like it did when her planet had been destroyed. Before her she closed her eyes then open them once again. This time they weren't soft but rather sharp and blank. "very well then," she said before she turn from him. She walked towards her desk and picked up the book she had there. Opening it her eyes looked down at the page before she lifted her hand and waved it at him dismissively. "Very well then you may leave." She waited for a few minutes waiting for the door to open and close but when it didn't she looked up. He was still standing there. She raised an eyebrow, "I believe I dismissed you. So, leave. Now." Her voice was harsh that his eyes showed hurt, but she didn't move or said anything she just went back to reading as if it didn't matter to her.
She heard him walk out then the door closed. Her hand clenched around her book. She would show him that he didn't matter to her just as she didn't to him. The only thing she had to do now was convince her heart of that.
"I need to find a way to free this people," she thought. Closing her book she knelled down and bowed to the ground asking silently for the spirits of light to guide her in what she needed to do.
"At last," Pumyra said, "The way out is just through here." In front of them was a crystal bridge, the lower bottom was all dark.
As they ran to get tho the other end, Aideen dared to looked down before looking back up. She wasn't afraid of height, but she the thoughts of the crystal shattering or the lizards army finding them and shattering it made her worry. As her luck would have it, it seemed like her worries would come true. They came to a halt and gasped as Addicus stood in front of them with lizards by his side. "It was so nice of you to light the way for us," Addicus said. Hearing a hiss they turn to see more lizards blocking the way from behind. Now there really wasn't anywhere to go. Aideen moved close to Lion-O as she kept her eyes on the lizards. The monkey walked towards them, "Hand it to me while your still alive or I'll take it from you when your dead." He glanced at Aideen, "and while your at it give us the girl too."
She clenched her hold on the swords as she glared at him. Lion-O moved towards her trying to block them from seeing her. He glared at him, "You want it?" he said before grabbing the sword and stabbing the crystal bridge.
Addicus looked at him as the bridge shook, "Your crazier than Keynar!"
"Lion-O!" the brown-red hair girl let out as the crystal began to shatter. They yelled as they fell down. She looked to the side and prayed that her powers worked. Using all of her might she tried to get a branch or rock to form so she could hold on. Instead of that happening a crystal extended making her land on it. Unfortunately she landed a bit to hard. She groan as she grabbed her side arm as she had hit it when landing.
"Now, I know your trying to kill us," she heard the puma say as she tried to easy the pain.
"The why do I keep saving you," the lion replied. "Are you alright Aideen?"
She waited for a few seconds to respond, "Yeah, fine. Perfectly fine," she lied as she got up. Her arms throbbed as she clenched it trying to ease the pain. Taking a deep breath she stood up. Looking down at the two she moved to help them. Once they were on a path she kept her hand on her arm.
Lion-O looked at her as he saw the pain expression, "Are you sure your alright?" he asked.
The young girl nodded, "Yeah, fine." She stood up, "we better keep going if we want to get ahead of them." With a nod they kept walking. Aideen tried her best to ignore the pain on her shoulder. She knew she wasn't fine. Her arm hurt but thankfully nothing seemed broken which was a surprise to her after all, the landing was kind of hard.
After a few minutes of running the sword began to glow again. They came to a stop as they lion looked at it in thought. "We can't out run them," he said.
The puma turned towards him, "Then we each need to take a sword and separate."
He looked down in thought before shaking his head. "Panthro would tell me that's a terrible Idea," he said
"What does your gut tell you?" she asked.
Aideen had enough. Perhaps was her annoyance at seeing him thinking about what the puma was saying. Or her annoyances with her powers no working. Or even the voice that for some odd reason was sounding more and more truthful than she wanted to admit. Not to mention the pain in her arm. But one thing was sure Aideen was reaching her limite more and more the longer they stayed in this cave doing what Pumyra says. And perhaps a part of her annoyance towards her was because of lion-O's interest in her, that part she was trying so hard to ignored. She walked towards lion and grabbed him arm, "Lion-O, listen," she said in a soft voice. "If we separate there is a high chance that one of them will get the sword. They've been able to track us down so far. What makes you think that separating won't make finding the sword easier for them?"
"And if we keep on going like this then he will be getting both swords," the puma protested.
For once the young girl didn't stop the anger she was feeling. Let out a growl as she turn to her, "at least together we have a chance of defeating them or at least manage to runaway."
"How can you believe that we can defeat them together?"
"How can you believe that we have a chance if we separate?"
Pumyra growl at her as Aideen glared. She turn to Lion-O, "well, my king, who will you listen to?" She gestured to Aideen, "Her or me?"
They waited for him to choose. He looked back and forth between them. This was not what he wanted. He didn't want to choose between who to listen to more because the moment he did he knew what the other would think. It took a minute before he let out a sigh making his choice that he could clearly see the displease look in Aideen's face. He took of the sword and handed it to Pumyra. "Take it and run," he order, "I'll meet you with the others. He then turn to Aideen who was clearly angry at what he had chosen a bit of disappointment clear in her eyes. The expression soon vanish and was replace by a blank look.
"Fine," the girl said, "then I'll go with-"
"You'll come with me," he interrupted her. She raised an eyebrow at him in confusion. "They're not only after the sword but you as well. It's best if we go in opposite direction."
She didn't like it. If they were going to separate she wanted to at least keep an eye on pumyra. She had no trust for the puma especially not after sensing that dark aura that surrounds her. With an irritated groan she nodded. There was no time to argue with him. She didn't like his plan, but she was going to follow him anyways. Deep down she knew Mumm-Ra would be getting the sword. They left in opposite direction, but is wasn't long before Aideen and Lion-O heard the shouts of Pumyra. The lion turn to where the shout had been heard, "Pumyra!"
Aideen looked at him as he ran past her and to where he had heard the girl had gone. "Lion-O! Wait!" she called out but he didn't listen. "Damn it!" Praying that nothing bad happen she ran after him. She knew it had been a bad Idea from the beginning.
They come to a stop in the place where the crystal bridge had been. If front of them was Pumyra hanging from a Crystal wrapped by the mummy's bandages. Mumm-Ra laughed before raising his eyes towards the lion, "Look what I found Lion-O." He lifted the sword up making the other two gasped. Aideen's eyes widen, if only they hadn't separated.
Pumyra turn to the Lion-O, "Run, don't let him get the sword of Omens too!" she said before being shot by a lighting. She let out a shout of pain before fainting.
"Quiet, my dear, were talking," the mummy said, "but she is right you should run."
Lion-O glared at him, "There's not a chance I would leave her with a monster like you!"
Aideen stayed quite as she began to think of a plan something to get them out of this. Why had he listen to her instead of Aideen. If only he had agreed with her none of this would have happen. Now they had to find a way to save Pumyra and get the sword. Things just kept getting so much difficult for them. "Then why not just get the sword and leave the girl?" A voice asked. A voice that was similar to the one she heard back in the Astrial plains. She turn around but there was no one and from the looks of it she was the only one who could hear it. "Why not grab the sword and leave the cat. She got herself into this didn't she?" The girl shook her head as she tried to push that voice away. It was so much darker, darker than the spirits of evil.
"Generations pass and still your species is weaken by emotions." She looked up as the dark voice became silent. Mumm-Ra lifted his sword up as lighting shot out from it. "This is power Lion-O. This is life." He thrashed his sword forward shooting the lightning at the two. Grabbing the sword he lifted it up and blocked the attack. Aideen hid behind him, a hand held Lion-O's shoulder. Unfortunate it was to much for Lion-O and he was pushed back until the sword was thrown from his hand. Aideen fell on the groan having been pushed by the attack as well. "With this weapon nothing in the universe can stop me."
Aideen growl as she stood up, "Oh, yeah. Will see about that." Using her inner power she threw a fireball at him. "Lion-O get the sword, go!" she order towards the cat. Lion-O hesitated for a bit before doing what she said. "So he finally decided to listen to me," she thought as she kept attacking the mummy. The only problem was that her attacks were weaker than the last time she used it against him. He dodged all of her attacks by using his sword. Blocking every single one of her moves. It annoyed her. Everything about this situation was annoying her. The fact that he had the sword. That lion-O decided to believe someone else instead of her. How that female cat could manipulate him. But most important she was annoyed with herself for letting herself feel this way. For allowing him to enter her heart. She shouldn't have let it gone to this point. She had learned from her mistake back then. Why did she feel like this?! "Dammit! I hate this!" she shouted as she put as much of her frustration and hate into that attack.
Mumm-Ra looked at the flame that was shot towards him. It was different instead of its red-orange color it was blue. He could feel the heat as he blocked the attack. This flame was far more intense that he was sure he would burn if it were to get even the slightest bit close to him. Of course her attacks didn't stop there. They just kept coming. "What is this," he let out as the heat of the fire intensified. Slashing the flames he looked at the girl only to see her dark eyes that were fixed on him with so much hate. The hate that he was waiting to see. With a smirk he realized how close he was getting to reaching his goal. Unfortunately he couldn't let her continue with her attacks. He swung his sword at her, a wave of lighting shot from it but instead of hitting her it hit the wall.
She moved away from the falling rocks and turn back to him ready to attack only to be hit by a lighting on the chest. Her back hit the wall from being thrown back. She groaned in pain as before spiting a few drops of liquid that had made it way up her throat. She knew it was blood thanks to the iron taste it left in her mouth. Thankfully she didn't spit anymore out. She turn to her side as she clenched her chest. There was so much pain. She had never felt like this that it made her feel tears at the corner of her eyes.
Panthera walked along the empty hall. Her anger directed to a certain cat. A cat she thought she would agree with her. Now she was on her way to meet up with the only person who she was sure would help her think of a plan to help the other animals. As she kept thinking about what to do, Leo walked in front of her. "You were right panthera, Mumm-Ra's not the leader I though he was," he said.
"It's to late," she let out harshly, "Now that he has the sword of Plun-darr we won't be able to stop him."
Leo looked down and thought of a plan, "Mumm-Ra plans to but the stone in the sword so he can direct its power," he informed. "What if we got to it first?"
She looked at him with a small frown. "And then what?" she question, "It can't be destroy and we have no way to harness its energy."
"We could if we had our own sword," the lion said with a small glint in his eyes. Panthera looked at him before giving a small smile.
"Fine, but we are still going to need help," she said before she kept walking. Leo followed her with curious look at what she was talking about. They walked along a familiar hallway one Leo knew. He was kind of afraid of seeing the person who Panthera was talking about. Sensing his uneasiness she half-smiled at him, "don't worry she's not going to hate you... I hope." Her smile widen by the look he gave her.
He shook his head, "she hates me. Not that I don't understand her now," the last part he mutter it with a sigh. He knew what he had done was wrong. He had destroyed her plant, lead the attack on her people, then handed her to Mumm-Ra. Her hate was reasonable. He shook his head, "I brought a lot of misery to her."
Panthera looked back at him and didn't try to make him feel better she knew he was right. She also knew Behira more than the other cats did. The shannen queen would do anything for her people. "Perhaps, but we need her," she glanced at him before turning back, "maybe you two will end up getting along better than you think."
Leo shook his head, "I don't think so."
"Well never know unless we try." He doubter her worlds, but there was no turning back not now that they were standing in front of her door. He turn to look at the cat besides her only for her to raise and eyebrow at him waiting for him to open the door.
Clearly there was no turning back and she wasn't going to be the one to knock at her door. With a deep sigh he knocked and waited. The door slid open relieving the Shannen queen. She looked at him with surprise before it turn to anger before he could say anything the door was shut on his face. He blinked before letting out a sigh, "I told you this wasn't going to work," he said.
The panther chuckled before she knocked. The door open with a now annoyed queen, "yes, what is it?" she said. "Did Mumm-Ra want to see me because if he did I am not available any time soon."
Panthera looked at her with a small smile, "no, my lady. I am here for.. something else."
Behira frowned before she looked at him. Her expression none friendly. "It's important," he added.
She snarled, "more important than my prayer to the spirits for those lost souls that, your ruler, had order to destroy just to get some stupid material for who knows what?"
That made him look away in shame. He could have stopped it but had been blind by his 'ruler'. With a determine look he turn back to her. "Yes," he answer, "but we cannot talk here." She looked at him with that anger in her eyes and was about to shout at him if shut the door on his face again but he stopped her. "Please, just listen to me."
Behira stopped and looked at him his eyes were pleading and showed... guilt? What was he feeling guilty about. "Maybe he realized what he had done?" a voiced seem to tell her but she was having trouble believing that. As she kept looking at him she decided to at least hear him out. "Fine," she finally said, "but make it quick."
He nodded before walking into the room. He looked around at the plainness of it. Nothing that made it seem like it belong to her. Not like how he had seen the rooms back in her planet. Everything was empty. He could only guess that was how she felt in this place that she didn't belong in. A place she didn't want to be in. He turn back to her as she had her arms crossed waiting for him to speak and so he did. He told her what had happen and that he was wrong about everything and now wanted to make it up. He told her about his plan. He watched her face go from anger to sadness to confusion to doubts and a bit of hope was shown.
"How can I believe you?" she question finally after a few minute of silence. "This could all be a lie for all I know."
He knew she would say that and there really wasn't anything he could do to assure her he wasn't lying. "I... I don't know how to show you I'm not lying. What can I do to show you that I mean what I said. That.." he let out a sigh, "I'm sorry for what I did to you?"
She looked at him with a blank expression. He wanted her forgiveness? Did he really discoverer it? He who was involved in her peoples death? He who had taken her from her planet and destroyer it? Did he deserve her forgives? She was angry, furies. "Furies at who? Him or you?" her conscious asked her. That kept her quite thinking about what the answer was. She knew it already. She was angry at him for what he did, for his blindness to what was happening around him. Blind to follow a man that only brought death and distraction. She was furies at herself for not being able to do anything. Perhaps this was what she was meant to do.
"Get the materials for the sword, then, and only then, will I believe you," she answer.
Leo looked at her in surprise but nodded with determination. Once he left he did just that got the material he needed manage to avoid Mumm-Ra, who he hopped didn't become suspicious of him and found Behira waiting for him by the underground tunnels. "I got it," he said as he showed her the gray metal.
She looked at it then back at him, "So you did," she nodded. "You really want to do this?"
He nodded, "yes, it may not bring forgiveness for what I've done but at least I can stop it from happening again."
Her eyes never left him as if she was trying to find the lie in his words but she didn't. "I still don't fully forgive you," she stated.
"I don't expect you to, but that doesn't mean I won't try to earn it," he replied.
She frowned at his words, "might take forever. It might not."
Leo smiled at her, "somethings are just worth the time."
She felt her lip twitched as a small smile touched her lips. His words were hones and true that it made her believe them even if she didn't want to. "Is that so," she said before turning towards away from him and moving forward. "We better go to the other, they're already waiting for use." With a nod he followed. Both maneuver along the dark paths before coming to a small opening were the others were waiting for him.
"What took so long?" the Panther asked.
"Don't ask," he replied as he put the container on the table. "Did you do your part?"
She turn to the black smith, "the black smith had agreed to forge us a sword," she said and got a nod from the other cat that stood in front of them.
Behira turn to the cat, "You understand the consequences should mumm-Ra uncover our plan?" she questions.
"This is the one chance we have to defeat him," Leo added.
Panthera looked down at the metal. "Not a lot to work with," she commented, "It won't be as big as the sword of plun-darr."
"As long as it's large enough to hold the war stone," the lion replied.
Behira nodded agreeing with him, "I believe it will be enough," she said. She looked up at the two cats, "we will end this, together. All of us." She meant it, all of it. Even if Leo had brought pain into her life she knew he was the one she would need to stand by in order for what happen to her to not happen to anyone anymore. And for her to find the reason to why she was brought here in the first place.
Juliet open her eyes and sat up as she took deep breaths. Why was she dreaming this? Why her? She didn't have any relationship with Behira. She was Aideen's ancestor not hers. So, why was she dreaming this?
"Aideen!" she heard. The girl tried her best to stand up and answer him but nothing came out. Her voice was lost and her body refused to move. She took deep breaths and whipped her mouth. She tried to steady her breathing and glared up at Mumm-Ra but the mummy was no longer interested on her.
"That peace of scrap metal is no match for the sword of plundarr and neither are you," Mum-Ra said as he kept shooting the sword of Omens away from him. Aideen looked up as the mummy did his enchantment again. "Ancient spirits of evil trans form this decay form to mumm-ra the ever living." He transformed into this powerful form, his wings expanded behind him. Grabbing his sword he shot towards lion again, but the lion was able to dodged him. Lion-O grabbed his gauntlet and protected himself using the spirit stone. The beam of lighting reflected to the ceiling. Crystals and rocks feel as the beam had open a few spots on the ceiling. Mumm-ra cover himself from the rubles and Lion-O took this opportunity to go after the sword of Omens.
"Thunder," he swung his sword to the side as it began to expand. "Thunder," he swung again, "Thunder," the sword grew more. "Thunder, cats Ho!" Lightning shot from his sword as he listed it up in full length.
"Your ancestor thought he could beat me as well," the mummy said as he looked around. The lion hid but his reflection was on all of the cristals. "I'm still here. Where is he?"
"You are looking at him!" the lion shouted back.
Mumm-Ra jumped and slash at the crystal had had the lions reflection. Cracks form on the rock wall making more rubble fall and more holes to open. He looked for the lion but didn't find him until it was to late. Lion-O thrashed his sword forward and hit the mummys sword out of his hands. The sword flew in the air until it landed on a crystal. Lion-O moved quick and ran towards the sword. Just few inched before he got to it Mumm-ra spoke. "Not so fast Lion-O," he turn towards him, "You can't have for the sword and the girl. Would you be the first of your species to choose power over your emotions?" Lifting up his gauntlet he shot at the crystal that held pumyra. It cracked making it bent forward. Lion-O looked with mixed feelings before Mumm-Ra shot once again this time the crystal shatter. Pumyra yelled as the fell.
Aideen watched at the lion ran towards her. "You see, he will chose her over you," she heard Mumm-Ra say. Looking up at the mummy before her, she tried to stand but was unable to. Instead she tried her best to glared at him trying to not show the hurt that she was feeling. He smirked down at her clearly haven seen the emotions in her eyes. He moved his arm forwards lighting shooting towards her. She grit her teeth not wanting to show how much in pain she was in. Her eyes widen as she felt that sensation of something getting into her chest. It was like back then but the sensation only lasted a few minutes. "I will come back for you, but not yet." He moved away this time she didn't see him as she was in too much pain. "I didn't think so," She heard him say. Slowly she looked up at him as he held the sword of plundarr. Rays of light sipped threw the holes in the cave making him roar in pain. He moved away then made a hole on the ceiling in the opposite direction. Extending his winds he flew into the dark hole, "We will meet again soon."
She looked down as she let out a whimper of pain. Taking a deep breath she wiped the tears from her eyes. She struggled to get up but once she was steady and could walk, she used the sides of the wall to walk to where lion-O was. What she didn't expect was to see him looking down at the unconscious Puma. She bit her lip as she tried to hid the pain from her body and her heart. She moved forward but before she could call out to him the pumma stirred.
"The sword of Plundarr.." Pumyra let out as she open her eyes.
"I've lost it," he replied as he looked down at her. "And with it maybe everything we've been fighting for." He looked away from her. "All because of my emotions." He didn't notice Aideen looking at him with worry. Or noticed how injure she was.
"No," the puma replied, "Your emotions are what will make you a great king. A king I would follow anywhere." He looked back at her with shock, "Even after the way I've been treating you. You've saved me again and again. I don't deserve your compaction."
"After all you've," he looked down at her with a soft expression, "been threw you deserve more."
Aideen stayed hidden in the shadows as she but a hand on her heart. How familiar she had became with that hurtful feeling but at the moment she felt it different than before. He will always choose someone else over you, her mind seemed to tell her. Don't fall for that trick again. Easier said than done, she thought as she leaned against the wall cover by the shadows. Silent tears feel down her cheek.
"Don't get mushy on me," Pumyra began, "your Majesty."
He smiled kindly at her, "call me Lion-O."
She lifted her hand and touched his cheek, "Lion-O."
He will chose her over you. Mumm-Ra's words ran in her head as Aideen looked at the scene before her. She bit her lip stopping them from trembling as she kept her eyes on them. She had to stop them. She didn't want those feeling but it may seemed that they were far more deeper than she had thought. "How much longer will you keep being weak and fragile."
They walked out of the tunnels after the puma was fine enough to walk. Aideen ignored the pain she was feeling, her face held no trace of tears ever being there, thankful. She didn't know if her eyes had been red or glassy. She thought they weren't as neither at had said anything to her about it, that or they hand't even notice it. Despite the pain she was happy to finally get out of the tunnels. She would be even happier once she got a good distance away from both cats as well. As they came closet the others looked at them. "Mumm-Ra has the sword of Plundarr," Lion-O informed.
"Then we better make sure we find that next stone first," Panthro said.
He nodded, "The balance have shifted were looking at a whole new war."
Aideen clenched her fist as she felt the anger withing her. She had been right and yet he listen to her someone he had barely meet and clearly trusted more than Aideen. Because of her now he had the sword. The feeling she had whenever she saw them together kept growing. She hated that feeling she hated her. But right now she was far more anger at the fact that this new war would be claiming a lot of lives. With a sigh and a shake of her head she pushed those thoughts away, or at least tried to.
The older half-human looked at her cousin as she saw her eyes turning slightly red and the anger within them. Something had happen. Whatever it was it was not good. She watched as Aideen walked away from them. "Aideen," Isha grabbed her hand trying to stop her from walking away. She saw her flinched at the girls touch. At that sudden movement she tried to examine her arm. Of course Aiden was already in a bad mood and the last thing she wanted was to deal with her cousins over protection. She hadn't even notice the cut on her arm to much pain from her chest to notice the slash on it.
"Isha, I'm fine, let go of me," the young girl said with a sigh. She really didn't want to be around anyone right now. She wasn't emotionally stable at the moment. The anger in her was still there and her cousins over protectiveness was not helping. "I want to be alone."
Isha didn't budge, "but-"
"I'm fine," she said as she tried to move away. The older girl acted quickly and grabbed her arm making Aideen gasp and winced at the pain. Taking her arm again more gently Isha turn it around to see a thin line of blood. The blood had dried up and because of the dirt she couldn't see if it was deep or not. She was surprise that Lion-O hadn't even notice and it seemed that even Aideen hadn't notices either. The frown in her face was clear of that.
The other cats looked at them with a frown wondering what was going on. Tygra walked towards them, looking at her arm his eyes widen slightly. "You do not look fine," he stated having heard her statement. Turning towards Cheetara he called her over, "you need to get that check."
"I'm fine," she let out a little harsher than before. The other cats were surrounding her looking at the wound in her arm. Lion-O's worry expression made her angry. He had just notice she had been hurt. Then again he had been to busy gushing over Pumyra that he didn't even notice her. "I just want to be alone," she thought as she tried to move away from them.
"Kid, that could get infected," Panthro pointed as he looked at her.
Aideen clenched her hand as hard as she could, her nail digging at her palm, but she didn't care. She wasn't about to let her anger and frustration be directed at them. All she wanted to do was be left alone. She wanted to be alone. She needed to be alone. "I'll take care of it," she said before trying to walk away again. Isha grabbed her once more.
The older girl held stubbornly, "No, your hurt and-" she was stop as the young girl pulled her hand out of her grasp. Isha gasped as she looked at the girls dark eyes. They were darker and harder. It almost reminded her of-
"I said I'm fine. So, leave me alone!" she exclaimed with a harsh tone. She didn't even wait to register the shock look on their face before turning around. Just as she was about to leave she stop. Her hand instantly lifted to touch her chest as she felt a slight sting and something going up her throat.
"Aideen?" Isha called and turn the girl around. Aideen frowned at the sensation before spiting something from her mouth. She touched her mouth then looked down at it. Liquid stained her gloved hand. Looking up at Isha she saw her eyes widen and knew what it was. She was sure her injury's weren't that bad, then again she did get shot on the chest twice. She could feel the worry looks the others were giving her. "Aideen!"
"I'm fine," Aideen said weakly, "I'm fine." She kept repeating that as if she was trying to convince herself that she was alright. Isha whipped the blood from her mouth and looked down at it as if trying to see if it was blood. The expression she was giving her told her that she thought she was crazy for thinking she was okay. Something wasn't right. Isha grabbed her as she began to cough. Small drops of blood staind the girls hand as she grabbed her cousin. Why was she having trouble breathing?
"Come on," the older girl said with fear clear in her voice. "We'll let Cheetara look at you. Okay?"
Aideen said nothing but nodded as she took deep breaths. All she wanted was to be alone. To be away from them. Away from Lion-O. She let Isha guide her as she walked slowly towards the tank. Her cousins fingers trembled and she knew right away how fearful she was. "He will choose her over you," she remember Mumm-Ra saying. Those words had been echoing in her minds as if they were engraving themselves there. She shouldn't have care. They weren't going to be together. She should ignored those words. She should have suppress that feeling, to not think about it, but she couldn't it was a part of her. She hated herself for that. "I'm fine," she kept telling herself but she knew it was not true. Something was wrong with her. Very wrong.
Alchy looked at the dark water with a smirk. Her plan was working. The girls heart was getting darker and darker the longer she was with the others. She could already feel the darkness all the way from where she was. For the first time in years the witch was happy. She was going to get what she wanted. Everything she had work hard for was finally taking root. Now all she needed was the right time for Aideen to Kill Juliet and finish the transformation to the dark side.
"She will need to be pushed more," the witched mutter. She walked to her cabins were she had many ingredients. "A small potion to help push her more into the darkness will do." She began to pick what she needed. Oh, how much fun she was going to have once her beloved sister and husband saw their daughter killing all those they loved.
