RWBY – The Adorkable Knight
Hello guys, welcome back to another chapter for this re-written story. I have been getting a few complaints here and there about the fact that it looks like hardly anything has changed about this re-write, let me just say that there have been some small changes in each chapter, and a few major ones which are easy to spot out.
Note - I have been recieving PM's about people wanting to know if they can use my story/ies as part of the RWBY reads trope. I will say that I will allow it, however, you must let me know before hand. It also needs to have credit where credit is due, otherwise it is basically plagiarism.
As you could see in the previous chapter, I had changed Jaune's family situation, so he has two half-sisters, two full-blooded sisters and three adopted sisters. Saphron falls into the half-sister category. Which means that it won't be as taboo if they were to be in a relationship. From what I have researched, IF a situation like this were to arise in real life, genetics won't mess up the baby, considering they don't share both of the same parents.
Don't quote me on that, genetics is always a awkward thing to research.
QUESTION - What type of personality should Glynda have, one that she has for those close to her/Jaune? Example; Yandere, Obsessed, Tsundere, Switch (Meaning dom to sub or vice versa)
QUESTION 2 - To continue on with the personality part, what should the personalities be for the other girls in the Harem, you know, to spice things up a little?
Harem for this story! This will NOT be changed!
Jaune x Saphron - Arcest
Jaune x Terra Cotta - Arcotta
Jaune x Pyrrha - Arkos
Jaune x Ruby - Lancaster
Jaune x Yang - Dragon Slayer
Jaune x Blake - Knightshade
Jaune x Weiss - White Knight
Jaune x Glynda - Excalibur
Maximum Rapsody: I will not be adding Neo or Velvet into the harem for this story. However, what I can say that in the rewrite of my Jaded Harbinger story that Velvet and Neo will both be in the harem for that one. So, keep your eyes out for that one.
Mad Library Scientist: Yes, I have decided to change Jaune's family a little bit. It may be confusing and all of that, but yes, Saphron will be Jaune's half-sister, who have different mothers but have the same father. From what I have researched the genetics between the both of them will not interfere if they were to have a child together. Don't quote me on that, it's still rather confusing.
Neo Infinity: Yeah, I decided to add that little part there with Glynda as that will be the building blocks for Jaune's relationship to eventually flourish with his Professor. For the training stuff, I will use your suggestion with both Pyrrha and Yang to help develop them along, and I will take into consideration with Weiss and Blake as well.
Chapter 8 - Training Offers & Forever Fall
Jaune Arc took a deep breath as he found himself inside of one of the training rooms in Beacon Academy, preparing for a wave of bots that were set on easy difficulty.
It had been two weeks since Saphron called him and had asked him to help with Terra bearing a child, of course he hadn't told anyone yet, not even his own team in this personal matter, he believed that something this personal should stay between himself and his family, which now included Terra.
Ever since then, his mind has been plagued with what to do about this situation, he didn't know whether to accept the proposition that Saphron gave him or should he decline it.
It was a rather large internal debate. He wanted to help his family, no matter what, however, he just wasn't ready to become a father yet. He was only 17 and still in his first year of Beacon, as team leader no less, so he already had lots of stress placed on him from that, then with having a child with no source of income from his side was another thing plaguing his mind.
Sure, he could get a part-time job and help get a source of income and not have Terra or Saphron pay off everything, but that would add even more stress onto himself, dealing with work shifts from managers that might not listen to him or not be negotiable with working hours, combined with leadership duty and all of the homework and class work, it would basically kill him and his free time.
'Come on, focus on that later.' Jaune mentally scolded himself, shaking those thoughts out of his head as he focussed on the few bots that were spawning just a few feet in front of him, all wielding the same weapon, a simple sword, much like his own Crocea Mors.
The bots were rather simple, being about 7' high and being rather lean for a piece of metal. They had red visors being the only real stand out from the rest of the body which had sleek black and gray metal platings along their body. It seemed the easier bots were made for quick attacks, yet low defense.
DING
As soon as the timer went off, Jaune got into a defensive position, with his shield raised to be at the ready for a quick block for a blow, and his sword arm tensed and ready for an attack.
The bots seperated themselves from the group, leaving four different enemies in different locations for Jaune to hit, so he had to keep on his toes and be enviromentally aware of his surroundings.
CLANG
With his shield already raised, Jaune was able fully block the strike from the first bot who decided to attack first with a horizontal swipe of his sword. He winced lightly as he felt the vibrations from the block go through his shield arm and through his body. Quickly taking the training bots lack of defense, he took a large swipe towards the bot, landing a solid hit along the metal plates on the chest.
Once he did, he used his shield to knock it back away from him and sent it off balance once again, where he then performed something that he saw Pyrrha do in her combat classes. Tightening his grip around his sword, Jaune lept forward, his sword poised for a strike along the weaker plating along the legs.
SWIPE
CLUNK
Jaune blinked in confusion as he saw his sword cleave right through the robots leg, and said robot fell to the ground in a heap and unresponsive, meaning that it was defeated. He didn't know that the metal plating was that weak along the bots legs, 'Maybe that is the easy setting?' He thought to himself, the only logical conclusion that he could think of at the moment.
What he didn't know was that he subconsciously mixed his aura into the blade and made it much more sharper and deadlier.
SWISH
Out of the corner of his eye, Jaune saw a flash of steel make its way past his vision, narrowly avoiding his hair and body, just by a breath. Thinking on instinct, he allowed his body to take the lead for him rather than his mind, spinning on the ball of his feet, he performed a near perfect 180 degree turn and shield bashed the bot further away as it was readying itself for another swing of its weapon.
THUNK
The noise that rattled the arena as Jaune's shield made contact with the metal platings of the chest region of the robot, forcing it back like it weighed nothing, maybe it was part of the easy setting, "Ha!" Jaune couldn't help but let out a small grunt as he performed a stabbing attack, his weapon slashing and creating a spark as it came into contact with the chest region.
However, Jaune forgot one important thing; that there were two other training bots lurking around, "Gah!" Jaune felt two massive blows to his body, one to his unprotected lower back and the other along the back of his thighs. Even though he had an aura, it still hurt to get hit in those areas. Gritting his teeth, Jaune held his sword hand out fully, before taking a large turn on his heel and allowing momentum to carry his sword towards its targets.
It was successful, one of the training bots that was the closest to him managed to get hit, while the other one managed to parry his swing, before it yanked its own sword up in the air and managed to disarm him as the pommel of the robots blade managed to get hold of his blade and yank it out of his grip.
CLINK
Jaune watched as his family heirloom flew in the air in a near perfect arc that would make some jealous, before managing to get the blade stuck in a small crack in the marble flooring.
Bringing out his scroll, Jaune took a look at his aura levels, and was surprised to see it nearing 50%, when he started he was at 90%... due to him jogging into a brick wall as his mind was occupied about everything that was happening recently.
Seeing no way that he could win this with merely a shield and his hands against two active training bots with speed and swords, he deactivated the training program from his scroll, making the training bots lurch forward and slump over, before they were picked up via claw and taken in a compartment in the roof.
Sighing to himself he collapsed his shield and lumbered over towards his sword and carefully got it out of the ground and back into its sheath, "Well... at least I did better this time." He muttered to himself, trying to find a silver lining in all of this, he managed to get embarrassed once again by training bots that were set on easy.
He didn't know how he lost nearly half of his aura in only three hits, normally it would take more than double that to make him lose half, "Why did that happen?" He asked himself, like he was expecting an answer to appear out of thin air.
It didn't.
As Jaune was going down the hallway that lead to his dorm, he was thinking about everything about his fighting style... well, not style, more like random moves put together to hopefully dish some damage out. However, with how easily he was disarmed by the training robots set to the easiest difficulty really got him thinking 'What would happen if that was a real opponent?'
That simple line of thought made him shiver a bit, if that did happen, then he would be screwed, he didn't want to rely on his team too much and he wanted to improve himself, he wanted to stand by his friends as an equal, not someone who got carried to victory as some would call it.
Now standing in front of his dorm room, where he could hear the talking through the door, and it was about him.
"Hey, do you know whats wrong with fearless leader?" It was clearly Nora's voice, as she was the only one to call him that, even when he said multiple times to stop. He sometimes wondered how Ren dealt with her, it was sometimes worse than his little sisters when it came to annoying him with certain things.
"I don't. I just think he has some things on his mind." The calm and collected voice of Ren replied to Nora, before he heard something that made nearly made his jaw hit the ground, "Maybe it was something to do with that call that he got last week."
Jaune blinked for a second, wanting to know how he heard that, he made sure that he was quiet when it happened, he also didn't know that Ren was within the dorm room.
"Maybe it could be that, however, he needs to be ready, the field trip to Forever Fall is tomorrow." Pyrrha's voice interjected within the conversation, he could tell that she was worried about him, in fact, all of his team were. The simple knowledge of that made his heart flutter and a small smile to appear on his face.
Like he mentally promised himself a few weeks ago after having Ren's rather personal conversation in the cafeteria, Jaune had made it a goal to get his team to bond with each other. Although, once he revealed what he wanted everyone to do, it was met with some form of hesitation, but once he explained that they would only reveal and delve into what they were comfortable with, then the idea finally got off on its feet.
Everyone had a one-on-one session with another person on the team, and was done when both people had free time from a free period or sometimes it happened when they were both in the library to complete some homework or to simply relax in a quiet space.
Recently, after a week of suggesting this little team bonding session, all four of them finally had their own session. The first session started off relatively easy, with Pyrrha taking Ren and Jaune was left with Nora.
Considering that Ren and Nora knew each other really well from what Jaune could remember, there really wasn't a point with having them have the session together, as they most likely knew everything that there could possibly be for each other with the way they acted sometimes... well, from the way Nora acted sometimes. He also had very little doubt that at one point in time that they were going to get together.
Not the 'together-together' that Nora kept on saying to everyone, but genuine boyfriend and girlfriend. It was obvious to everyone that something was there, it was just up to them to finally recognise it.
With Jaune's session with Nora, he had managed to get some more information from her. For one, Nora had to reiterate that she loved pancakes, and possibly breaking legs - he didn't doubt that she might've done it once or twice in the past considering her weapon - and he also managed to know that Nora did have a few things that were on a 'no-go' list, such as the amount of sugar that she could take within a week, and he also learnt that Nora was forbidden to have coffee.
The reason why was pretty obvious, she was already hyper normally, and adding caffeine to the mix didn't sound like the greatest of plans.
However, when Jaune came upon the topic of what her semblance was, the answer that Nora gave him will stick with him for a long time to come.
FLASHBACK
Sitting in the dorm room with Nora, Jaune found himself sitting at one of the chairs that surrounded the small dining room table that was in the room.
Clad in a white tank top and some simple blue shorts, Jaune Arc couldn't help but have a healthy flush on his cheeks as he watched Nora, his partner and his partner for this little team bonding session, wiggle around and struggle to keep herself still.
The reason why he was blushing?
Well, it was due to the fact that Nora was wearing a dark gray T-shirt with the word "Boop" written on it, which also includes her hammer emblem in place of the second letter 'O', and on the occassion when she bounced up enough, Jaune could see that she wore pink shorts that were patterned with white thunderbolts, which left a lot of room for imagination when it came to showing off her long and toned legs.
However, the problem that Jaune was facing was with the shirt, as it was rather... tight around her chest area, and with each wiggle that she did, it caused her breasts to jiggle slightly like they had a mind of their own. It was quiet easy to tell that she wasn't wearing a bra underneath.
Despite being a healthy teenaged girl, one that was rather hyperactive and could easily decimate many opponents in battle, it was clear to Jaune that she was still rather oblivious or simply too innocent to understand what she was doing was causing him discomfort.
However, Jaune didn't want to point it out and cause an awkard situation to arise, so he did his best to keep his eyes locked on Nora's face, "So, Nora. May I know what your semblance is?" He asked, finally asking his final question.
Blinking a few times at the question, Nora obviously thought that it would be something different than what it was, "Well, I don't know the specifics, but I do know that when I get hit by anything that has electricity, it makes myself stronger." She said rather quickly, before flexing her muscles to Jaune.
Shaking away the slight feeling of jealousy spike within himself as he saw just how much more muscle Nora had compared to him. However, he joted the an abbreviated answer into his little notebook, so that he could think of any strategies that could work with her later on.
Once he done that, he asked a simple question, "How did you unlock it?" He asked, genuinely curious as to what the answer was.
'Pft'ing lightly as if she was trying to hold back a chuckle at the memory, Nora leaned back into her chair, "You know, struck by lightning and survived." She said, sighing lightly as she reimagined that moment, "You know, that was a crazy Thursday." She added on as an afterthought.
Jaune on the other hand looked gobsmacked at his partner as she revealed how she unlocked her semblance. He surely thought that her semblance manifested itself when she was zapped by something, or because of her endless enthusiam, 'Wh-wha?' He thought to himself, still trying to comprehend the fact that someone was unlucky enough to be struck by lightning.
What were the chances of that even happening to begin with?
Now Jaune was contemplating if Nora had the luck of the devil, or was just super-unlucky to be around.
END FLASHBACK
Shaking his head from those thoughts, he once again was running through the options about who he could ask to train him for hand-to-hand combat.
While he really didn't want to bother anyone by asking them to take time out of their day to help someone with little to no skill when it came to that sort of thing, and further risk of someone finding out that he didn't have any formal training at all.
However, now after a month into the school term and with very little progress made by himself, Jaune was biting the bullet and was finally up to the point in asking for help.
He had already planned on accepting Pyrrha's offer for her to train him with the sword and shield. She had noticed the many mistakes and mis-movements that Jaune did in class and she wanted to help him, and try to help him improve on them.
When he first got that offer, at first, he had politely declined it, before softly saying that he wanted to improve his technique and abilities by himself and that he would keep the offer on the table to think about at a later date.
The constant loses that he faced in Professor Goodwitch's class along with the constant loses that he had to the training bots had made him finally reconsider and accept the offer.
Not that Pyrrha knew that yet of course.
"Jaune?" A slightly younger and sweeter voice called out from behind him.
Yelping lightly as he held his chest, he turned around to see who had nearly given him a heart attack in the middle of the hallway, "Oh, Ruby. What's up?" Jaune questioned to Ruby, taking a deep breath to try and restore his heart rate back to normal.
As he finally took time to take a quick look at Ruby, he couldn't help but admit that she looked pretty adorable in her pajamas, although he had to try and surpress a chuckle with what she wore.
Her pajamas consist of a black tank top featuring a heart-shaped Beowolf design on the chest, that showed off her midriff and developing figure, long white pants decorated with pink roses. She also had a black sleeping mask decorated with triangular red eyes resting just above her forehead, "Nice PJ's by the way." Jaune said off handedly, it was the first time seeing her pajamas.
"O-oh, thank you." Ruby said rather bashfully, twirling her body around a little and having a small flush present on her cheeks, "Why were you waiting outside your dorm's door for the last few minutes?" She questioned, confusion clear in her eyes, "Did you lock yourself out again?" She asked, narrowing her eyes slightly.
Jaune chuckled a bit, when Ruby was trying to act mature and trying her best to look scary, it didn't work, it almost made her look like a kicked puppy, "No, I have my scroll on me right now, see?" Jaune said, taking the scroll out of his pocket and waving it around lightly in the air.
"Oh... so what are you doing out here?" She questioned, wondering why Jaune was waiting outside his own dorm room if he had his scroll on him.
"Well... I was contemplating and remembering some stuff, and just lost track of time doing so." Jaune said with a small chuckle, answering Ruby's question.
"Oh." Was the smart retort from Ruby as she heard the last part of his statement, "What were you contemplating? Also, why are you still dressed in your normal clothing?" She asked once again, finally taking note of how he was still dressed in his day attire instead of pajamas.
"Well, I just got done with training in the training room, and I found another weakness, if I lose my sword, I am basically out of a fight. So I was contemplating on who to ask for some advice or possible training for hand-to-hand combat." Jaune answered Ruby's question.
He watched as Ruby casted a quick, unsure glance towards her team's dorm, before turning back around and poking her two index fingers together, "Oh... I, uh, could ask Yang if she would be open for the idea... just... wait outside the door... everyone else hasn't exactly gotten changed yet." She added on, a small flush on her face as she basically just admitted that the other girls were partially naked behind her closed door.
She also knew that Jaune was now the first male to either be in or at the doorway to her team's dorm, their little safe haven.
Jaune nodded his head at the offer, although he was a little concerned at the fact that it could possibly be Yang giving him advice or possibly training him in hand-to-hand combat. He had seen the amount of destruction and just how much power that Yang had in that field, and to be on the recieving end to one of those punches have got to hurt.
The fact that he could be training with her would mean that he might be the punching bag to her as she showed some of the demonstrations on his own body.
Well, as they said, 'No pain, no gain.'
"Well... see you in a minute." Ruby said, before disappearing in a burst of fading rose petals, with the door being opened and closed so quickly that Jaune was only able to see the dorm for a split second before the door was in his face once more.
"Were those bunk beds?" Jaune questioned himself, he swore that he saw bunk beds in the small amount of time that the door was open. If that was the case, then that was awesome that they had bunk beds, even if the room was large enough to hold four seperate beds normally... unless all of the girls had so much luggage and extra items.
He shivered as he remembered all the shopping trips that he had to experience when he was younger. No wonder why it seemed to be ingrained in male DNA to hate shopping.
"Yo, what's up lady-killer? Hoping for a free show?" Yang's voice broke Jaune out of his thoughts, he turned to Yang to be respectful when someone was talking to you, and he had to clutch at his nose to prevent a nose bleed at what he saw.
Yang was wearing her pajamas, which consisted of an orange tank top that struggled to contain her well developed breasts within the confines, with her emblem on the front in red while also showing some of her toned midriff, hell there were even abs going on with her body, and black boy shorts that hugged her hips and thighs to perfection and showed off her long creamy legs to the world.
Jaune quickly brought his line of sight back up to Yang's face, and hoping that she wouldn't kill him for staring at her pajama clad body. Once he brought his line of sight to her face, he saw that her lilac eyes were dancing with amusement and she had a smirk on her face, which made her look seductive like all hell.
"See something you like lady-killer?" Yang asked, her smirk still plastered on her face as she then brought her arms underneath her bust, making them stand out even more, seemingly getting bigger because of said action.
'Down boy!' Jaune yelled at himself as he felt blood rushing towards a certain appendage. He couldn't help but take one more glance towards Yang's bust, it was really hard to ignore it when she was making it so his eyes would be dragged towards it, "U-uh, I-I was wondering if you would help me train with hand-to-hand comabt!" Jaune blurted out after a few stutters.
His face was as red as Pyrrha's hair as he tried to take his mind off of Yang's bust and onto something else.
"Oh? Why is that?" Yang asked, leaning against the dorm room doorway with one hand raised while the other one went to her hip as she jutted it out a bit, showing off more of her maturing body towards Jaune.
That was another thing that Jaune had noticed recently, which was that Yang was becoming more bolder towards him and subtly flirting with him. He still was embarrassed each and every time she did it, which made her do it even more, going as far as calling his reactions cute... although, on more than one occassion, he saw Ruby and surprisingly Pyrrha shoot a dirtly look towards her each time.
He also felt the area getting significantly colder each time, maybe that was just his imagination though.
"W-well, I was just using the training room, and I got disarmed by the bots... and then I realised how much of an anchor I will be to my team if that was a real fight. So I want to learn hand-to-hand combat if that ever does happen." Jaune spoke, determination sparking in his eyes at the chance to improve himself.
Yang raised a delicate eyebrow towards Jaune as he finished his little statement. It was obvious that he really wanted this, and Yang and her team have had suspicions about Jaune's entire time here at Beacon, he normally loses his matches, but at least every time he does seem to improve. Maybe it was this drive that he had that made him improve each and every day.
"Fine, we will be training in the gym every Saturday afternoon, barring holidays of course, which leaves Sunday a rest day for us. We will be training for two hours each Saturday. Be there or be square." Yang said, having a small smile as she playfully punched Jaune, which made him lose balance, "I will be looking forward to the training Jaune. Have a good night." Yang said with a small teasing wink at the end before closing the door once she was out of the doorway.
"Yeah, you too." Jaune spoke out, rubbing his arm a bit from the pain of Yang's playful punch. If that was light, he really didn't want to be on the end of her actually trying, nor when she is under the influence of her semblance. He shivered at the thought of that.
Sighing to himself for what seems to be the dozenth time today alone, he made his way on the opposite side of the hallway.
Now finding himself in front of his dorm room once again, he felt a little better about himself, he managed to have Yang agree to become his 'trainer' of sorts for hand to hand combat, although, he probably wasn't a brawler like she was, maybe he could get some advice when it came Saturday... which was in a few days.
'Actually, that is the start of the semester break for the first years.' He thought to himself, rather amazed at how quickly the term has gone by.
Sure Beacon may have less term length than in normal schools or even the other Academies for the first years, but that is also when you take into consideration that they have to adapt to the new lifestyle, one that is marginally different compared to normal home life or even compared to the other prep hunter schools. Along with the fact that the first year was mainly theoritical barring a few lessons of practical activities, which were mainly Combat Class and even Stealth and Security.
Who would have thought that Beacon had mock intel gathering simulators, in which you needed a partner to complete the trial.
It was safe to say that Jaune wasn't the most flexible of individuals when it came to performing in the simulator, however, when it came to reading and deciphering the riddles that had the instructions for the other person, he had found it quiet easy and the success rate that he had was one of the highest in the class, and tied for one of the fastest in the class.
That was something that he was extremely proud of. Despite not being a powerhouse in combat, perhaps he could be a tactician.
During the month of having the Stealth and Security class, he could say that he didn't mind the class now - aside from all of the homework that had been given so far - he was alright with riddles, his communication was improving and his speed was mediocre, and the topic that they were learning was actually quiet interesting.
Shaking his head clear of those thoughts, he got his scroll out from his pocket and flashed it before the scanner near the door, with a small ding the door was unlocked, allowing him inside.
Once he was inside the room, he saw that Pyrrha was gazing out of her window, looking off into the distance of the horizon where the shattered moon shone its rays behind her, making Jaune pause and take in the sight.
Her red hair that was normally tied in a ponytail was now hanging freely, cascading down her fit form with some bangs framing her face, her emerald green eyes were seemingly lost in thought as she stared out the window. Her pajamas were rather fitting, going with her general colour scheme she had, with the long sleeve bronze button up shirt that hugged her athletic frame, along with a pair of bronze pajama pants that looked to made of cotton and were rather baggy around her waist.
'What's wrong with me? Ever since that scroll call I have been having different thoughts about the women around me.' Jaune thought to himself in confusion, ever since that scroll call, he started having different thoughts about the body form and look of his friends, while before he didn't really take notice of it.
It was thanks to that scroll call that helped him realise that he was nearing the years where he could enter a relationship and perhaps at some point have a child with said partner... although he was sure that he wasn't ready for that stage right now.
Jaune suddenly lurched forward and let out a grunt of surprise when he felt somethign collide with his back, along with two soft mounds press into his neck, "Hello partner and fearless leader~" Nora sang as she basically hugged Jaune with her cheeks rubbing against his head in an eccentric greeting.
"Hello, Nora." Jaune greeted out to the eccentric teammate and partner of his, who also happened to the powerhouse and heavy hitter on the team.
"Nora." Came the neutral tone from Ren, who was sitting on his bed wearing a simple dark green robe that had his symbol embroided on it, along with wearing a pair of hakama pants that was tied around his waist with a red obi.
"Yes, Ren?" She replied, turning her attention from Jaune to her best friend Ren.
"Get off him, he just got back into the room." Ren deadpanned, looking at both Nora and Jaune with a seemingly uninterested gaze as he got back into her meditative position on the bed.
In a flash, Nora was off of Jaune and back on her bed, with a rather large pout on her face as she gazed at her childhood friend, who still ignored her for his meditaion.
Nora, clad in her pajamas, did a few somersaults in the air before landing on her bed perfectly, before pulling out a pair of headphones and placing them over her ears as she gazed upon her scroll.
"Oh, your back, Jaune. I didn't hear you enter." Pyrrha stated, turning her attention from the window and to her team leader, a person that she had a relatively big crush on, she believed that it was rather well hidden, however, the smirk that Nora sent her said otherwise.
Quickly giving a small glare to the snickering Nora simply resulted with a childish rasberry thrown her way. How could she have known that Pyrrha wrote some things about her partner and fearless leader, some of which were rather normal, however, on some pages there were some juicy dreams written down.
"Sorry I am late. Was finishing up a training session, and had a chat with Yang to help me with hand-to-hand combat." Jaune said as he walked towards his bed that was next to Ren's, "Oh, and Pyrrha." He called out, getting the redhead's attention on him once again.
"Yes?" She asked, wanting to know what Jaune called her name for.
"You still up for training?" He asked, a small amount of hope in the tone of his voice.
Smiling brightly, Pyrrha nodded her head, "Of course, Jaune." She answered, a little more peppy than before.
"Thank you." He said, a smile on his face as sat knelt down next to the bed, before pulling out a change of clothes to change into.
"Oh! Training with Yang, I wish you luck fearless leader! She hits like a truck!" Nora called out, pulling her headphones off. Her normally loud voice was starting to get a little softer, something that most, if not all of the team is greatful for, that means that Nora is running out of energy and tired. Something that is very rare to witness.
"Ha ha, thanks, I'll need it." Jaune sarcastically laughed out his response to Nora.
"Jaune, you do realise that her fighting style might not be compatible with yours?" Ren asked, opening his eyes and staring directly at Jaune's backside as his back was still turned towards him.
"I know. I'm just getting the basics from her, then I will try to make my own style, one that feels comfortable with me." Jaune answered the questioning done by Ren.
Getting back up with a spare white towel flung over his shoulder and a spare change of clothes in his arms, he was about to get into the shower, before he was asked another question by Ren.
"I see, well, it would be best to have a fighting style with familiar movements that you have practiced before. You said that you were taught to dance by your family, maybe you can intergrate those movements in your fighting style." He suggested, his eyes still locked onto Jaune's eyes.
Jaune blinked for a moment, that thought never running into his mind. He was taught dancing by his family, and it was a small hobby of his, "Thanks for the suggestion, I will see with what I can do."
Ren simply nodded his head, before closing his eyes once more and entering his little meditative state once again to calm himself down from all the stress of the day.
Now Jaune could finally have his shower as he opened the bathroom door and placing the towel on the little stand and the change of clothes just underneath it, so they wouldn't get wet from the mist and warmth in the air.
"Jaune, wake up. We have to get ready for the field trip to Forever Fall." Pyrrha's voice spoke out, as she tapped Jaune on the cheek a couple of times, getting groans of annoyance from him.
Pyrrha frowned once she realised that her little strategy to wake Jaune didn't work, instead, she let a small grin replace her frown as she whispered, "I will get Nora to wake you up." Her soft whisper might have been quiet, but as soon as the word Nora and wake up were in the same sentence, Jaune bolted awake.
"No! I'm up, I'm up." Jaune yelped once his ears registered what Pyrrha said, getting woken up by Nora was not a fun thing to experience.
She will either jump on top of you, winding you in the process along with hurting you as she did so, or she would simply wake up you up repeated taps to the head or cheek, and when you wake up, Nora's face would be inches near someones face, causing them to jolt awake and headbutt her, making sure you were awake as pain racked through the persons body, and Nora will just laugh it off and skip around the room humming a tuneless tune.
"Sorry. It was the only way I could wake you up." Pyrrha apologised out of instinct as soon as she saw the fearful look in Jaune's eyes at the mention of the special Nora wake up call, as Nora herself calls it. She had been on the recieving end of one of those wake up calls, now she makes sure she is awake before Nora.
"It's alright, just please... no threats of Nora wake up calls." Jaune shivered at the mere mention of that idea.
Sitting upright, Jaune took in the sight of Nora bouncing around in the kitchen area babbling on about something, with the smell of pancakes lingering in the air and the lack of Ren in the bed beside him, it was safe to say that he was in the kitchen cooking breakfast and kept Nora away from her sleeping partner, "So, are we wearing uniform or is it combat attire?" He asked, forgetting what it was they were supposed to wear.
"We are wearing combat attire as we could run into Grimm. Professor Goodwitch is supervising us as Professor Peach had an important meeting to attend." Pyrrha answered for Jaune, before turning around and heading to the kitchen area, mainly to have some food before Nora ate it all, and to give Jaune some privacy to get changed.
Standing up from his bed, Jaune stretched out his body, moaning in bliss as he felt some pops and cracks sound from his body, along with the great feeling of his muscles stretching out from dormancy after sleeping in the same spot for so long.
'Great, Goodwitch has also acted wierdly to me.' Jaune thought to himself glumly as he thought about the blonde Professor who Jaune seriously thought was a dominatrix, she just had that aura about her that made basically everyone think that... even her weapon choice was a perfect match for that.
With Goodwitch acting wierdly from class to class, every single time that Jaune lost in a fight against someone in Combat Class, she would always take subtle jabs at him and his prowess in battle, however, when he is in the Leadership classes, she treats him with respect and praises him on occassion, more so than the others in the class.
He even ran into her in the hallways when he was running a little late for Stealth and Security class. He thought that he would recieve a detention then and there, imagine his surprise when Goodwitch lets a small chuckle of amusement and smiles towards him.
So many conflicting thoughts and emotions coming from Goodwitch it wasn't even funny.
Moving on from the topic plaguing his mind, he went through the drawers to find some fresh clothing, however, his eyes were widening after every passing second once he realised that his favorite Pumkin Pete hoody was not in his drawer and his second one was in the hamper in the bathroom, 'Where is it?' Jaune thought to himself as he kept on digging through the different articles of clothing.
He blinked once when he found a small piece of torn black ribbon in his drawer, and it definately didn't belong to him. None of his clothing has a black ribbon located on them, nor were the black clothing that he did have made out of ribbon or string, "What the?" He questioned lightly as he continued to inspect the piece of broken ribbon. He shook his head and placed the broken piece of ribbon on his bed. He would deal with that later.
Although, he was annoyed that he couldn't find his favorite hoody, he simply didn't have time to go about looking for it, and he definately wasn't going to wear the one he wore yesterday which must have stunk of sweat and body ordour.
So instead, he opted to get a simple black muscle shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans, it was probably better off not wearing a hoody anyway if they were going to be outside in the sun all day.
"At least I can eat some breakfast today." He muttered to himself as he heard his stomach rumble in hunger, for the past two days, Jaune had been so busy and stressed that he actually forgot to eat breakfast, which left him rather agitated and tired throughout the day, only having food when lunch came about later in the afternoon and some rather bland dinner that the school provided on most days.
"Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so." Professor Goodwitch spoke out as the students on the field trip were murmuring about the beauty of the red tinted forest.
Jaune abrubtly stops when he realises that his team and team RWBY are busy looking in awe at the forest as well, he shifted the hold on the box he was holding, which held eight empty glass jars, one for him and the rest for his friends. It was decided on the airship that they would work together, not only to get it done quicker, but it would also be safer to be in a large group in case of a Grimm attack in the area.
As Jaune looks around the area himself, he suddenly catches a glimpse of Cardin, and he is glaring at him yet again, although the smirk on his face unsettles him.
Goodwitch held up a jar of the objective that the students were collecting as an example, "Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!" She said, with that being said from her end, the students quickly make their way to trees just past the small clearing they found themselves in, all fighting for the closest trees in the area.
"Well, let's go. The quicker we do this, the more free time that we have." Ruby chirped out to the others as she started marching her way through the other people doing the tasks, they wanted to go to an area that wasn't littered with other students.
With that being said, both teams nodded and headed off after Ruby, leaving Cardin and his team behind in the small clearing they landed in, although, they look at each other and nod, the three of them were going to do the task while their leader was going to go along with his plan they had been working on for the past few nights. Who knew that getting a couple of bugs was so hard. The target for said plan was Jaune Arc, and maybe even Ruby Rose.
It wasn't like he was the bully and Jaune's friends finally had enough and basically threatened him to stop doing it, hell, even Jaune himself stopped a few more attempts of Cardin trying to bully a second year rabbit Faunus by the name of Velvet.
Team (C)RDL were making themselves as useful as possible by collecting the sap that was slowly seeping from the tree trunks. They were really only doing this because they didn't want to get on Professor Goodwitch's bad side again, and they wanted to be as subtle as they could be as the plan was going on.
Speaking of the plan, Cardin already had one jar full of sap while he was filling up another one, which meant there were five jars between the four of them, even though they only needed four. The extra one was part of the plan that they had, which involved the sap splattering over Jaune or any of his friends and then releasing part two of the plan.
"So boys, who should we target for this little beauty, any preferences?" Cardin said with his prideful tone as he carefully juggled the second full jar of sap in the air and catching it again in the palm of his hands.
"Eh, not really. They all really annoy me the same." Russel said, leaning against the tree, having just recently finished his jar of sap, he didn't like the feel of it as he got some of it on his fingers. It felt like jam, and he hated jam for its taste, but also the texture it had, and it felt almost the same as that.
"I agree with Russel, although if I had to choose, I would choose the blonde idiot that doesn't belong here" Dove said with a dismissive shrug of his shoulders as he was carefully clasping the lid over the jar to not spill of it anywhere and placed it within the box next to the one that was already placed in their by Russel.
"Don't care, I just want to get out of this place, I would rather be in a club at this point." Sky placed in his opinion, he hated school for the most part, it was just so boring, he lived for the excitement and thrill of everything.
Cardin sighed to himself, he had to be a team leader to three other people who didn't seem to have the same ideals as him in general, unless it was about bullying others. Other than that, they had nothing in common, which lead to them being rather terrible with teamwork.
"Fine, I'll think about it. Come on, follow me, I found a nice vantage point." Cardin ordered, his irritation clearly known and heard throughout the other members of his team.
Now perched on a hilltop overlooking the other students, team CRDL peaked their heads over the crest and watch as everyone is retrieving their samples of sap. With the eight people down below being team RWBY and JNPR as they were doing the objective that was given to them. It was handy that Cardin found this place, as they had the high ground and an easy escape as they could hide under the cover of the shrubs before them.
"Payback time." Cardin muttered, staring at the unaware group with narrowed eyes. His eyes mainly lingering on the forms of Jaune Arc and Ruby Rose, who were idly chatting while collecting the sap. Although, Cardin spotted that Jaune's face was becoming more and more red as time seemed to go on and his face was swelling slightly.
Cardin's attention then went onto Ruby, where his expression turned into a rather mean looking scowl, "That girl. short goody two shoes, thinks she's so special because of her early entry. Alright, boys-" A large cardboad box is pulled out, with it shaking lightly with a large 'W' being shown on the sides of the box, "-last week, I learnt that these beauties here are attracted to sweets, so I managed to get a few of them from around Beacon grounds. I think I am going to aim at here, take her down a few pegs." Cardin said, a dangerous look in his eyes as he handed the box to Russel, who didn't seem interested at all.
The grin on Cardin's face managed to stretch even further as he grabbed one of the full jars of sap in his hands, standing up and allowing himself a better aim, "Russel, when you hear this shatter, I want you to open the lid of that box. Understand?" Cardin questioned, sending a look towards his teammate with a shaved head and light green mohawk.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say." Russel said, clearly not interested in what was about to happen, like Sky, he just wanted to get out of here. He wasn't an outside person, he would rather listen to music and watch movies.
"Now, as soon as those beauties are released, we run for it." Cardin added on, before turning around with him looking down to the group of eight collecting the final remnants of sap for their objective. Roughly lining himself up he readied his arm back with the jar of sap in hand, then on an unspoken command he threw with all of his might, launching the jar of sap in the air, with the contents sloshing about slightly as it did so.
Wiping his hands of imaginary dirt and small residues of the sap that wasn't contained in the jar, he smirked, knowing that the jar of sap will either land on somebody or near them, enough to startle them.
Nodding his head towards Russel, who was waiting for the sound cue to release the buzzing wasps.
CRASH
SHATTER
"Jaune!" Came the call of Ruby, as the voice was still rather high pitched compared to the other voices of the females around him.
On an unspoken command, Russel lifted the lid of the cardboard box, and in a flash, revealed the occupants of said box, being four large and deadly looking wasps that were mainly black and green in colour, with mean looking toxic yellow eyes and large pointed stingers about the size of a pistol.
The angry fluttering of wings was enough to send most people in the opposite direction, as the wasps scanned their surroundings, it suddenly picked up on the sweet smell of sap, making them all turn and fly in the direction of the smell.
"Now, we can go." Cardin said, giving a small chortle as he could only imagine what the faces of the group of eight would be once they saw the Rapier Wasps flying towards them.
With that, team CRDL all ran back towards where they originally were, making sure they got the four full jars of sap with them, along with hiding evidence of them having the Rapier Waps in the first place, by rather lazily tossing the cardboard box containing them in the shrubbery behind the trees.
Jaune was not having a good time, having found out the hard way that he was allergic to the stuff they were collecting meant that he couldn't do anything other than wait for his team and for Ruby's team to finish the objective, so he was mainly on look out duty in case of any stray Grimm or anything else that might stumble on the path they were on.
It was as he was placing the final jars of sap in the box, making sure they were tightly compacted so there was no chance of them falling over and spilling the objective, he saw a quick shadow flying overhead.
Looking up, he saw that there was a flying jar of sap heading in their direction, with it coming from somewhere up above, meaning that someone purposefully threw it in their direction, either to annoy them, or taking advantage of his new found allergy.
As he looked at the jar again, he then mentally created a line of impact on where it would land, and he saw that it was heading straight to the unaware Ruby who was finishing up her jar of sap, having been talking to Jaune most of the time and making sure that he wasn't doing anything dumb for his allergies to take hold once again like they did previously.
With complete disregard to his allergies, Jaune rushed over towards Ruby and pushed her out of the way, which unfortunately made her drop the jar of sap from the sudden impact she experienced, "Ah!" She yelped out once she landed on her behind.
CRASH
SHATTER
Ruby snapped her eyes open, along with the others a few feet a head of them on different trees looked to what the sound was and why Ruby yelped out in pain.
They saw shards of glass sticking out through some of Jaune's clothing from when something shattered against him, and he was also covered in red sap, with it mainly being on his chest and neck area from where to took the flying jar of sap.
"Jaune!" Ruby cried out in panic at seeing her best friend and leader in arms covered with the sap that he was allergic to, "What happened!?" She asked, in a burst of rose petals she was up to Jaune who know looked like he had trouble breathing or looking straight, as seen by his eyes that were rather hazy and unfocused.
"S-someo-one threw a-a jar of sap tow-wards you." Jaune slurred out, almost like he was drunk, when in fact he was having a large allergic reaction. His neck was swelling rather painfully, his face was getting a wierd colouration of pale white and green to it, along with his sway as his body was fighting off the allergy.
He was lucky that the aura he had was helping him fight off the allergy, otherwise he might have already passed out.
The rest of the members of Ruby's team and Jaune's team all rushed over to help him and wanting to know what happened, when they heard what happened, they already had a hunch to who did it.
Gritting her teeth, Yang turned to Nora, "Nora, help me get Jaune to Goodwitch, he needs some treatment." She said, anger clearly heard in her voice along with hints of concern, it was also shown that her lilac eyes were gaining splotches of deep red in them.
"Right, come on fearless leader, you may have saved Ruby the embarrassment, however, you put yourself at risk." Nora chirped out, it would seem like she didn't care about what was happening to her team leader. That was clearly a lie, on the inside she was brimming with anger, her happy personality was just trying to keep it at bay.
Without any further warning, Nora grabbed one side of Jaune while Yang grabbed the other and in tandem, they both lifted him up on their shoulders, so his weight was mostly on them with his feet dragging against the ground.
"I'll go with them, I have a cloth on my person, I can get some of it off." Ren said, his semblance allowing her to control her negative emotions and not displaying them out.
As Ren quickly made his way towards the trio, he made her wis behind Jaune, as he was leaning back slightly allowing more space for her to operate then walking backwards and doing the same thing.
However, everyone stopped dead in their tracks when they heard the furious beating of wings coming closer and closer. Blake's bow twitched as her eyes got a little wider as she confirmed what the sound of beating wings were, "Run! Those are Rapier Wasps!" Blake called out, preparing her weapon in its gun mode as she was going to try and stop the wasps from even reaching her friends.
Weiss' eyes seemed to widen as well, before racking through her brain from the lesson from earlier in the week, "You need to get Jaune out of here! He has sap on him, they are attracted to sweet things!" She called out, not wanting her... friend getting hurt, sure they had a rocky start to the year after the pre-initiation meeting, but they both had come out and apologised to each other, hers was simply about how she acted, and Jaune was about how he unintentionally disrespect her and annoyed her, 'It's not like I care for that dunce anyway!' She mentally berated herself as she got her weapon out and rotated the chamber before it landed on the fire dust.
If they were wasps and they liked sweets, then surely they were afraid of fire.
Ruby on the other hand was panicking a little, between looking at Jaune who was now being rushed to safety with Nora and Yang running, along with Ren pushing his back in order for him to keep up and not plumet to the ground, then she looked at the remaining members of her team and Jaune's team, who were preparing for combat. She looked down to the ground and saw her jar, which was thankfully still in tact and still had some of the sap inside it.
Smirking lightly as she got an idea to lure the Rapier Wasps away if they got passed the other members.
"All right, if more Rapier Wasps come about, then I will through my jar and hit a tree or maybe even a stray Grimm with it, then the target will become the Grimm and not Jaune, giving us time to escape." Her well thought out plan was heard by Pyrrha, who looked to Ruby with a surprised expression, she herself had never thought of doing that, as it was the objective they were handling... it might not have been a real mission, but it was practice for one and she wanted to pass it with flying colours.
As Jaune continued to be carried away from the others by Yang, Nora and even Ren following and pushing him along, which he was thankful for as he was able to keep his balance in his near drunkern allergic state.
At least by now most of the sap that was on his neck and face were somewhat cleaned, only a few splotches left on his skin, while the rest was basically drying onto the small chestplate he had, which would probably not be worn anymore due to the stuff on it for Jaune.
It amazed them that they couldn't hear the Rapier Wasps flying after them anymore, although they probably put that down as Ruby and the others taking them out to prevent them from chasing after them. They didn't want to deal with those disgusting things anyway.
"So, why did you take the hit when you know you are allergic to the stuff?" Yang asked, wanting to know why he did that, it was dangerous for him to do it as they learned he had an allergy to the stuff they were collecting earlier.
"I-I didn't want her to get embarrassed when we came back. I would rather get embarrassed then her... she doesn't deserve it." Jaune answered, his voice still slurred slightly but was improving slowly, his neck was still swelling up slightly and becoming more and more red with each passing minute.
Yang nodded her head, the notches to Jaune's name going up in her books, they were starting to become really high actually. Which was a good thing, it meant that she could rely on Jaune and not have him piss about.
"Fearless leader, I know you want to be a hero, but you can't just risk your life like that for something so small." Nora said, looking up to Jaune, her turquoise eyes shining as she did so.
"I-I know, it just happened." Jaune quickly answered and looking away from Nora's eyes, they were deadly sometimes, especially when she got concerned or was making the puppy dog eyes. Somehow every female could make that work.
"At least we are nearing the bullhead, where Professor Goodwitch should hopefully have something for your allergy." Ren said from behind Jaune, his gaze always moving about from the bushes and treelines, he was basically on look out duty while being behind them in case of any surprise attacks.
"Hopefully, I mean who would have thought that Jaune would have been allergic to this stuff, even he didn't know it... maybe his parents put that down on his profile before he arrived here." Yang said offhandedly, wondering if the staff knew of Jaune's allergy.
Unseen by all, Jaune flinched at the mention of his parents. He ran away from them as they kept on coddling him, which was why he went to live with Saphron and Terra, to get away from the constant coddling that he got from his family. Since his half of his transcripts were indeed fake, Professor Ozpin overlooked them and still allowed him in, after taking make up tests for it.
He failed rather badly with the combat section of it, he only just passed for the academic side of things, but he was told that he got one of the highest marks ever recieved for leadership and tactics. Which made him feel rather good about himself after hearing about his failure in combat and near fail in academics, 'I really need to tell them the truth.' Jaune thought to himself, looking upwards towards the sky, he really wasn't going to enjoy that conversation... hopefully they won't hate him for it, 'I've kept it a secret long enough... although I am scared about how Ruby, Yang, Weiss and Nora will feel about it, I mean, I only just recently made up with Weiss.' He thought to himself, feeling a storm cloud of depression form over head at him imagining all the possibilities.
The fact that he continued hiding this was enough to make him feel so much more guilt, and when he did finally tell them, he was honestly scared of what their reaction would be. Would they hate him? Would they ignore him, or possibly try and get him kicked out of Beacon?
Now coming into the clearing that they originally landed in, they saw Professor Goodwitch on her scroll, probably doing some marking some papers for the higher years, along with some other teams that have probably already finished their objective and were resting on the other side of the bullhead or playing on their scrolls.
"Professor!" Yang called out as loud as she could.
The shout obviously got the attention of the other students as they looked on in confusion about the condition of the blonde knight, although some of the males were jealous about him being that close to the blonde bombshell that was currently helping him.
"What?" Professor Goodwitch called out, a small tick mark on her head as she looked up from her scroll and turned her harsh gaze to Yang, she was going to have a little lecture about interuppting others when they were working, however, that died in her throat as she saw the condition of the blonde knight, who had been steadily improving in his academics and fights, "My Oum." Professor Goodwitch muttered out, shutting her scroll off and placing it in her skirt pocket as she quickly made her way over to the group, "What happened?" She said after taking a look at Jaune's form at a closer angle, some of the swelling had gone up around his neck and chin, while the others parts of his skin was still rather pale.
"Someone threw a full jar of sap. It was heading towards Ruby, but Jaune pushed her out of the way and took it himself, even though he is allergic to the stuff." Ren explained, not exactly trusting Nora or Yang to do the explaining, as they would most likely swear and get them all in trouble.
Glynda snapped her gaze towards Ren, her eyes burning in annoyance and concern, "What do you mean his allergic to the sap? Why didn't you notify me about that?" She demanded, turning her gaze to Jaune and basically going mother hen mode on him as her piercing emerald green eyes stared directly in his hazy blue ones.
"S-sorry, I didn't know I was allergic to the stuff until earlier today." Jaune answered with some amounts of embarrassment in his slurred voice.
Sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose, Glynda looked at the trio that accompanied Jaune back to the clearing, "Thank you for bringing him here, luckily I have medical supplies for this. You can go back to where your teams are." She said, a purple miasma appearing around Jaune as she used her semblance to carry him from the others.
"Can't I stay?" Yang asked, wanting to make sure that Jaune was alright. Blame her big sister instincts that were currently screaming at her, she was protective of her friends, especially when they were friends with Ruby.
"No, Miss Xiao Long, you still have a task at hand. Although, I will mark you more openly because of the setback that happened. I will also make sure to find whoever caused this in the first place." She said, going into lecture mode with her being adamant that they go back to their task they were given.
Yang looked like she was going to argue, however, that was cut short by Ren placing a hand on her shoulder and merely shaking his head at her. Clicking her tongue in annoyance she turned around, and started heading off back to their little area they found. It seemed as Nora had already left when she was first told.
Before Ren left, he turned to the Professor once more, "Thank you. I do believe that team CRDL were the main culprits as they had been glaring at Jaune since we got here, along with the fact that they are smirking in his direction right now." With that said, Ren did a small respectful bow and started heading off, catching up with Yang in the process.
Glynda pinched the bridge of her nose once again, praying that it wasn't team CRDL, they were already on thin ice as it was, if this was indeed the case, they would be in serious trouble, in fact, despite them not knowing that Jaune was terribly allergic to this stuff, they did place his life in danger, and that was enough to warrant an expuslion, "Come on, lets get you cleaned from this mess." Glynda said, making sure her semblance was still on Jaune.
