RWBY - The Adorkable Knight
Hello, this isn't exactly a chapter for the story, call them interludes of sorts, that might be a little easier. Anyway, this interlude is about Jaune, as you have seen from the title of this chapter, and will mainly focus on what he has done in the month break.
Now, I will not have Jaune's... abysmal haircut that he has in Volume 7, that is just all types of messed up, so, I will keep it the same as it is. However, he will get an armor change, along with some weapon upgrade designs that he will ask Ruby for advice and help on.
Please, forgive any typos or spelling mistakes. I'm only human and I can't catch every little thing even when I re-read it over and over again.
Anyway, the next interlude chapter is for Ruby and Yang as they make their way back to Vale.
As always, I do hope that you enjoy.
If you haven't already, please do check out the re-write of Jaded Harbinger of Peace, which the first chapter has been uploaded. It is under the title of Harbinger of Peace.
Interlude I - Jaune's Holidays
Jaune had a rather interesting month break. On most days, he would meet up with Pyrrha in the local park to go somewhere private to train, much like they agreed to in the holidays so they don't lose any skill, or in Jaune's case, become worse. With the training sessions, he made sure to have at least three per week, so that his body has enough time to recover and rest, but also he did it enough so that his muscle memory and his body didn't lose shape and always remained in tip-top shape.
Sometimes the training sessions were simple stretches to loosen everything up to prevent an injury from occuring, before going into light sparring, where Pyrrha would call out her move and it was up to Jaune to react accordingly.
Let it be known when they first begun that little excercise, his reaction time was pretty poor, and that would lead to him getting hit more times than he could either dodge or block. However, as the month progressed and Jaune was put under that excercise more and more, his reaction times were getting faster, and he was getting hit less and less.
Other training sessions they had was with footwork, where he would be unable to wield a weapon whatsoever, and he had to think on his feet and use his movement to dodge the attacks. That one was much more easier for Jaune to get the hang off, as he was already rather quick on his feet due to him being taught on how to dance when he was younger, and the unfortunate times that he was dragged into his sister's dancing lessons.
However, there were times when they would only do some warmups before it was a friendly sparring session. Where it was just Jaune and Pyrrha facing off with each other, using thier aura gages as the referee - as it would beep when one was running low on aura or nearing the red zone on the correct setting.
Most of the time it would lead to Jaune being completely blown back as Pyrrha seemed to let go of herself within the spars, and she wouldn't hold anything back while she came at him. So, it was up to Jaune to try and catch up to her, either matching her blow for blow, or using his vast aura reserves and try to tire her out before he went on the offensive.
Considering that his combat was still pretty lacking compared to her skills in combat, he was glad that he was able to land a few solid blows on her person. He was able to call that a win in his book.
He had to admit, trying to get past that powerful semblance of hers was quiet annoying. He swore to Monty that having a semblance that allowed you to manipulate anything that had magnetic properties and even able to manipulate metal that didn't have any magnetic properties - to a solid degree - was rather broken, and it definately was something that could turn the tide of the battle within moments.
However, that was not all that he did during the month break. Like Pyrrha had offered him on the train ride, after one of the training sessions that they had in one of the lesser used parks that were in Argus, he had met Pyrrha's mother, and he couldn't help but admit that Pyrrha did share a lot of features with her mother, mainly her striking green eyes and even the dark red hair.
Considering that it was his first time meeting Pyrrha's mother, he had to believe that he made a fine first impression.
FLASHBACK
"You did well today, Jaune." Pyrrha spoke out, a light layer of sweat upon her face as her breathing was a little harder than usual, "You have been improving at a rate that has surprised even myself." She added out once again, standing next to Jaune as she went through her little excercise bag before pulling out a fresh bottle of water.
"Thanks." Jaune panted out as he took the water bottle away from his face.
Unlike Pyrrha, Jaune was sweating up a storm, his face flushed a deep red color as his body was trying to cool itself down and he was breathing rather heavily. His clothing was ruffled and even a few rips and tears in it. It was just lucky that Jaune decided to wear some old clothing and not his newly bought clothing.
Unclipping the sheathe that was on his waist to try and feel some more freedom with less weight, he carefully placed the family heirloom upon the bench, looking at it with a small smile on his face.
"So, be ready for another training session in a few days, give your body a good rest." Pyrrha advised, twisting the cap back onto her water bottle as she placed the bottle within her excercise bag.
"Sure, might need it tonight." He admitted, finally getting his breathing to a more manageable pace, "I think that was the longest I have lasted in a spar." He said off-handedly, grabbing a small white wash cloth and wiping his face of the sweat.
Nodding her head at that, Pyrrha answered him, "It was. That just shows how much you have improved. I'll say when you get back into combat class, you might be able to defeat most." She added on, a small smile on her face as she patted Jaune on the shoulder.
"Really?" Jaune said, a little surprised that she would say that.
"Mhm. Just don't let what I said get to your head, you still need to train hard." She said, her voice taking a more stern undertone. Almost like a mini Professor Goodwitch in her lecture mode.
"Don't worry." He said, waving her concerns off.
"Pyrrha, Jaune."
Hearing another voice within the area, Jaune blinked a little. That voice almost sounded like Pyrrha's, although it was more mature and just a little more whimsical than hers.
Turning around to see who said it, Jaune couldn't help blink at the similarities this woman shared with Pyrrha.
The woman in question stood around 5'6, meaning that she was shorter than both himself and Pyrrha by a fair margin and had lightly tanned skin. The main features that stuck out the most on her person was the light jade colored eyes - a few shades lighter than Pyrrha's - she also had dark violet glasses on that made her eyes stick out even more, and her dark red hair that was styled in a bob cut, along with the neatly trimmed eyebrows that were the same color as her hair.
Clothing wise, she was wearing some black gloves to protect her hands from the chilling breeze, and she was wearing a rather large and baggy jumper that had some fluffy gray fur around the hood and the cuffs of the jumper. The main colors of the jumper was black, brown and and dull gold, with red drawstrings that would tighten up the hood around her face. She was also wearing a pair of tight black pants that hugged her curves - which Jaune tried his best to not look at - and simply wearing a pair of black sneakers.
"Mother." Pyrrha greeted out to her mother, taking a glance at Jaune out of the corner of her eye.
"Oh, good afternoon, ma'am." Jaune greeted out politely, sticking his hand out for a handshake.
Giggling lightly, Pyrrha's mother took Jaune's hand and gave it a soft, yet firm shake, "Please, call me Xanthe." She simply said, her eyes shining in amusement.
As she let go of her hand, she took a step back a bit, looking Jaune up and down a few times, before she glanced over to Pyrrha, "So, you are Jaune, the person who my darling daughter said was not only her team leader, but friend as well." She said, turning her attention back to him.
A bit confused at that, Jaune glanced over towards Pyrrha, who now had a slight flush on her face at what her mother had said, "Uh, yes." He said, turning his attention back to Pyrrha's mother, "I am her team leader, and I am her friend as well. Although, its her that makes sure that our team stays out of trouble for the most part." He admitted, remembering some of the times when he or Ren simply weren't enough to stop the shenanigans of Nora.
At least she was able to step in and hold Nora back, and somehow worm their way out of trouble with one of the Professor's.
"I see." She simply said, looking at the both of them once more, smiling lightly at the blush that was still on her daughter's face, which seemed to get a little darker as Jaune spoke about her, whether it be from embarrassment or something else wasn't entirely known yet, "Well, why don't you join us at our place for a late afternoon snack? Besides, I have something to tell you." She added on as an afterthought.
Taking a step back in surprise at being invited over to their place, he spared a glance towards Pyrrha, who still had a slight flush on her face, but otherwise nodded her head at the offer that her mother put on the table, "Sure." He agreed, "Just let me contact Saphron and Terra, I need to let them know that it will be a late dinner tonight." He added on, knowing that they liked to be informed before hand about things.
Nodding her head at that, Xanthe turned her attention to her daughter, before gesturing for her to follow.
With Pyrrha following after her mother, Jaune was left by his lonesome as he pulled out his scroll to give Saphron a call.
END FLASHBACK
It was nice to know that after having the late afternoon snack with Pyrrha and her mother that Xanthe was happy to know that he didn't have a fake friendship for Pyrrha, only pretending that he was her friend to get some fame or have other ulterior motives for it.
When she said that, of course it made him a little mad, but he couldn't deny that sort of thing. It must've been extremely hard for Pyrrha to make friends after she started making a name for herself, and the only way that people would try to associate with her was to try and ride on the fame of being 'Pyrrha Nikos' friend. Despite that, Jaune had denied himself, saying to his mother that he didn't even know of her when they first met, due to him not following tournaments or even watch the news.
He even admitted that he was more of a comic-book type of guy.
That little statement coming from him made Xanthe laugh a little, along with Pyrrha giving her own little snickers.
However, what he also got was the fact that Xanthe had managed to get Jaune a job at the local pre-school as a lollipop man and or guide, however, you want to put it. The job basically entailed that Jaune would dress up with a bright vest on and carry a stop sign, and sometimes he would stand in the middle of a zebra crossing once he saw small children standing on either side of the road to stop the traffic flow and allow the kids to cross the road safely.
At other times, he would often lead the small children around the local area that the supervising teachers would book with him. Then, he would be their guide, making some small talk with them and try to play off everything as 'heroic' and if one of the children ask, he would explain to them in a simplified way about his time during initiation.
Of course, he would leave small details out and exaggerate other things to make the story more fun and compelling for the younger kids to eagerly listen to.
While it wasn't the best paying job in the whole world, paying eleven Lien per hour at most due to him working two hours and a bit hours per day, with one hour being in the morning waiting at the zebra crossing, and in the afternoon when the children were let out of school.
When he was on little organised trips with the school children, that would normally add on another hour or so, making him gain another eleven Lien for the work. However, he could easily say that the job was more fun than he originally thought it was. Not only did the teachers who were teaching the class and supervising them tell him that he was great with children, keeping them emraptured in his exaggerated stories, but just seeing the smiles on their faces whenever they saw him was enough to warm his heart and allow him to continue on with the job.
Although, at times, he really had to keep an eye out for any of the... more handsy and flirty older women who would at times get a little too close for him or offer him different things ranging from cupcakes or even small lunches.
Despite the fact that it was a little... odd for the women who were many years older than him and have children of their own to be acting like that, he still couldn't find it in him to deny them. So, with great reluctance and his best smile, he accepted the small offers - the ones that weren't too out there - however, one day at the end of his third week, somehow one of the women managed to place a pair of her panties into his pocket.
How she managed to do that without him noticing or anyone else noticing was absolutely beyond him, and that caused him to be more wary of them in the long run.
However, the biggest piece of news that Jaune got during the holidays was when he finally came home from one of the many training sessions with Pyrrha one afternoon, where he got the shock of a lifetime, although, one that was to be expected, but still surprised him nontheless.
FLASHBACK
"Saphron, Terra, I'm back!" Jaune yelled out once he stepped inside the house that belonged to Saphron and Terra, placing the keys of the house within the little key holder that was located on the small table on the side of the hallway.
He had just come back from a rather brutal and strenuous training day with Pyrrha, which made him work up a sweat from all the excercise, he also had a few bruises around his face and most probably on his arms when Pyrrha decided to have a few playful whacks with her weapon.
Of course the sparring meant that he was getting his ass kicked repeatedly while trying to absorb the information and tips that Pyrrha was sending him in the middle of the spar.
Then, after her little sparring match and training session, he had to change into his brightly colored vest and act as a lollipop man for the children of the pre-school for another hour and a bit, so he was pretty taxed after all of that.
So now, here he was, sweating up a storm, his clothing sticking to his frame in an uncomfortable way, along with the feeling that his stomach was going to implode with how empty it felt. It wasn't even six in the evening yet and he felt like he could eat a horse and still have room for seconds.
Although, he grimaced lightly with how Saphron and Terra might react, not only with the fact he was sweating up a storm and smelt like shit because of it, they might also be excited to tease the life out of him, considering he was out with Pyrrha for most of the day, before asking how his afternoon shift of being the lollipop man and asking if anything interesting happened during his shift.
Shaking his head from those thoughts, he patted himself down, making sure that his weapon was still on him and didn't get taken from him. Once he felt his flesh come into contact with the metal, he allowed himself to drag himself up the stairs, trying not to grimace to hard at the fact his muscles were burning and trying to force his body to shut down and flop on the ground.
'Odd, why aren't they in the living room watching TV?' He thought to himself, noticing how one of the couches was empty. When he normally got back around this time, either Terra or Saphron, sometimes even both were on the couch and watching the local news, however, that was not the case right now.
"Welcome home, Jaune." Saphron greeted, walking out from the kitchen area, where the scent of dinner was starting to come to fruition, her nose then scrunched up when she took a whiff of Jaune's scent, "Ew, you stink. Please head up to the shower before we start with our surprise." She said, playfully shooing him away from her as she waved her hand in front of her nose to get his smell away from her nose.
Jaune rolled his eyes at his sisters attitute, she always did that, she even did it sometimes after he had a shower, and then sprayed him with female deoderant. Although, he had to admit, some of the deoderants she had smelt really nice. However, Jaune looked a little curious about the surprise that was mentioned. It wasn't his birthday, nor was it Saphron's or Terra's.
Oum forbid if he forgot one of their birthdays like he did when he was fourteen and in a little loner phase. In his family, the women could be very scary if you forgot a significant event with them, whether it be their birthday or anniversary from what he remembered while he was young. Seeing his father laying on the uncomfortable couch with a few lumps on his head and his mother seemed to be in a rather agitated mood.
"Alright." He simply said, before he took off his shoes and placed them up on the shoe rack just by the door and walked further inside, as he walked closer to the living room, he could see that Terra was watching his every step, even as he was walking up the wooden staircase where he would get his change of clothes and towel for his shower.
After his nice, relaxing shower, which lasted nearly fifteen minutes, Jaune made his way back downstairs, dressed in a rather simple pair of PJs, which were a short-sleeved shirt that was white with some baby blue linings, along with some shorts which were baby blue with darker blue patterns. He chose light colors as they didn't absorb much heat and made it more comfortable to sleep in when it was a rather hot night.
Making his way to the living room, he saw that the chicken casserole was placed on a hotplate, powered with burn dust to keep it warm, so this 'surprise' must have been either rather long, or they were having guests over at sometime.
Setting himself on the couch, he allowed a sigh of relief to escape his mouth as he felt his body sink into the soft mateial, relaxing himself even more when he felt that the AC was turned on, bathing the room in a cool breeze.
Bringing his gaze to Terra with hardly concealed curiosity, "So, what did you want to surprise me with, because, it isn't any one of our birthdays." He said, hoping to get at least something out of this, however, that was met with a mere shake of the head.
"Jaune, we have to tell you something." Looking back across, he saw that Saphron had made her way over, plopping herself down on the saved spot next to Terra, and clasped her hand in her own.
Gulping lightly, "I'm not getting kicked out? Am I?" He asked nervously, his mind already taking things way over the top, plus he really didn't want to get kicked out of the house, he was comfortable in the house, and he didn't want to stay at a hotel... he doubted that Pyrrha would allow him over. Despite him meeting the mother, who was gorgeous herself and really nice, he hasn't met the dad yet.
The simple thought of meeting Pyrrha's dad was horrifying, if she was that strong, he didn't want to think about how strong the father must be. Especially if he was a high ranking officer in the Atlas military.
Small giggles escaped from them both, and Jaune felt really stupid in asking that question.
"No, Jaune. We aren't kicking you out." Terra stated through her slight giggles, before looking at him, "We just wanted to let you know something." She added on, before glancing over to Saphron, who merely nodded her head with a small smile on her face, like she was trying to hide something.
Bringing her free hand from behind her back, she got up and walked over to Jaune, her smile widening ever so slightly as she got closer to him.
Blinking a few times, Jaune then placed his attention to the item that was placed in front of him, he saw that it was mainly white, with a pink handle and had a two lines going on either side of the screen, "What's this?" He asked, having never seen an item like this before, it also didn't help that it didn't have any markings or writing on it to help him understand what it was.
"Jaune, this is a pregnancy test." Terra stated, allowing Jaune to take hold of the item, although, with some caution, looking up in confusion, Terra quickly added, "See those markings, Jaune?" Jaune nodded his head at that, looking at the lines going down the screen, "What that means is... I'm pregnant, a few weeks pregnant, and your going to be a father." She added, her smile nearly splitting her face from happiness.
Jaune, on the other hand was frozen in shock, his jaw dropped and his eyes comically wide as he continued to stare at the item in his hand. So many emotions were running through him at the moment, some of them were frantic, others were happy and some of disbelief.
"So?" Terra added, her voice a little meek with the fact that Jaune was quiet for more than half a minute, making her rather concerned with how he would react.
Sensing her fiances nervousness, Saphron quickly got up and grasped one of Terra's hands, taking a mental note that they were shaking rapidly, she also saw out of the corner of her eyes that past her glasses, small tears were running down her cheeks.
"This-" He begun, his mind still reeling from the surprise given to him. Setting the pregnancy test down on the spair cushion beside him, he got up, not caring if his muscles were still sore from the days training and activity, "-is amazing!" He said, all thoughts of nervousness gone from his system and all that remained was an unbelieveable amount of happiness.
Seeing the happy and relieved faces of Saphron and Terra respectively, Jaune rushed forward and engulfed Terra in a massive hug, lifting her up with some ease and spinning around to show off his happiness, before setting her back down and continued to hug her, rocking side to side in a rhythm. He heard sniffling coming from Terra, along with some wet spots forming on his shoulder as he felt her cry in happiness and joy, going with what he felt was right, he rubbed soothing circles on her back.
Seeing Saphron off to the side, looking at them both with a smile on her face, Jaune opened up his other arm - which was wrapped around Terra's back - and gestured for her to join in on the hug.
That was all it took before Saphron joined in on the hug, making it a hug of a growing family. One with a bright future in front of them.
FLASHBACK END
Smiling lightly at that memory, which happened to be his greatest one of the break, he looked back down again, this time, looking down at the many printed pieces of paper on his desk. These papers were his resumes, and hopefully, they were good enough to get him a job in Vale once the school term starts. Briefly going over them once again, he looked to see if he missed any spots or important information on them.
Name: Jaune Luna Arc
Age: 17
Schooling: Homeschooled, Beacon Academy Student
Past Experience: Childrens School Crossing Guard
Past Supervisor/Manager: Xanthe Nikos
Talents: Dancing, Cooking, Cleaning, Strategising
Other Information: Student at Beacon Academy, Team Leader of JNPR
Seeing everything in order with the paperwork, he placed them in his suitcase that he would take with him back to the Academy, which consisted of new PJs, clothes which were in his new size, some books on leadership and combat, and even anatomy books.
Sighing to himself, he looked over at one of the small stands that he bought before he left for Beacon the first time, on it was his armor, something that he always loved, even if it was old and rather outdated compared to the armor that other huntsman and huntresses wore.
However, seeing the armor now brought a smile to his face, while he loved his old armor, he had to admit that it was very poor when it came to protecting his vital organs, but now, it was definately better, protected more, and just felt right on him.
Just thinking of the armor made him remember the first time he recieved it from Pyrrha, something that she didn't need to do at all, but she did anyway, so now, he had to find a way to pay her back.
FLASHBACK
With the third week coming to an end for the break, Jaune was making his way to the last training session of the week with Pyrrha.
Ever since the daily training had begun, Jaune found himself growing and developing more, while his frame wasn't as bulky as Cardin's, nor were his muscles as defined as his fathers or Yang's even, he had a frame that people liked to call either the 'Swimmer's build' or even 'Runner's build'. While his arms weren't as muscular, they certainly weren't 'noodle arms' anymore.
He still can't believe that people called them 'noodle arms'
He had to get clothing that were a size or two depending on the brand of clothing, so it made it quiet expensive on his leftover Lien from when he 'borrowed' some before he ran away from home.
He wished he could go back in time and not buy a whole set of comic books and other useless things, then he would be in a much more better place financially, for himself and for Terra and Saphron.
Walking into the park where they usually met, he was glad to see that it was empty barring the various wildlife forms and flora, only he and Pyrrha were the only people there. He still didn't know how the park was empty every single time he came to meet Pyrrha.
"Pyrrha!" He called out, getting her attention as her back was turned as she stared at the various critters scurrying about doing whatever it was that they do on the regular basis.
Seeing her turn around, a look of surprise etching itself onto her face from the unexpected and early arrival of Jaune. The look of surprise was gone from her face in a blink of an eye as she gave him a smile and leaned forward a little bit, making it look rather cute, "Hello~" She greeted out, giving a small wave towards him.
It wasn't a surprise for Jaune seeing Pyrrha in her combat clothing, as she normally was when it was time to train for most of the day, however, he was surprised to see a rather large package resting on the bench near her, one that he could easily see his name on.
The package was wrapped in a rather fine looking bronze shaded wrapping paper with hints of crimson red patterns on it, along with a rather cute ribbon on top of it, "What is that?" He asked, pointing to the package.
Pyrrha followed where he was pointing and saw that he was pointing at the package, once she saw what he was pointing at, she became rather nervous, "Uh, w-well, remember how I said I wanted to look at your armor?" She asked, getting a confused nod from Jaune, she continued, although her voice was getting more softer, "Well, I... I made some changes to it." She added, an embarrassed flush on her cheeks as she made her way to the bench and picked up the package with ease, before making her way over to Jaune, "H-here." She stated, before quickly dropping the package in his outstretched hand and moving back a few paces, her cheeks still tinted red.
Blinking a few times in apparent shock at her massive shift in attitude, where the normally confident Pyrrha was now a flushed and stuttering girl, he looked down at the package before shrugging his shoulders and carefully pulled the ribbon off of the package.
As soon as the ribbon came off, the wrapping paper followed suit, and when the wrapping paper was off, he saw that it was a box underneath, one that was clearly from a Blacksmith shop, judging from the logo and the name of the brand. Moving over to the bench, he sat himself down, idly aware that Pyrrha was now in front of him and shuffling her feet awkwardly, pulling the lid of the box off and placing it on the bench beside him, he couldn't help but gasp at the contents inside.
Inside the box was his armor, but at the same time, not his armor. The armor in which he gave Pyrrha to look at, as she wanted to for some odd reason, was now upgraded, it now was modified to cover more of his upper abdomen and further protected his ribs and the pointed end just went down to his belly button. It was now polished, giving it an extra shine to it, along with it being trimmed with gold lining. His bracers, which were rather bulky as well were also upgraded in a similar fashion, but were now two seperate pieces of equipment, with two pieces of white and gold trimmed pieces being for his upper arm and shoulder area, while the other, longer pieces were for his wrists and went up to his elbow.
All in all, it looked absolutely amazing, and if the looks of some of the pieces, looked really flexible around the joint areas, which would make it even better.
"Wow." Jaune breathed out, running his hands over the armor and enjoyng how smooth it felt to the touch, looking back up to Pyrrha, who was giving a megawatt smile at the fondness of the armor, "Thank you, Pyrrha. I love it, although, why the gold? Not that I am complaining of course." He quickly added on to make sure that Pyrrha knew that he wasn't complaining about the secondary color source on the armor.
Pyrrha rubbed the back of her head awkwardly, her cheeks becoming a rather healthy shade of red, "W-well, I, uh, had some spare armor that I wasn't using and decided to use the bronzinsh-gold material into the upgrade." She said with a small stutter as her green eyes were looking everywhere but Jaune.
Jaune smiled at the gesture that she did, even though she could have easily sold the unused armor for a healthy sum of Lien, she instead used it on him and his armor upgrade, "Thanks, Pyrrha." He said with a smile as he started to take the armor pieces out of the box.
He was going to wear the armor proudly, along with thinking of some weapon upgrades that use the same color scheme as his new armor.
FLASHBACK END
He was broken out of his thoughts when he heard knocking on his door, "Yes?" He called out, knowing that it would either be Saphron or Terra on the other side of the door.
He wasn't wrong, as when the door opened up and allowed the person behind it to be seen, it was Terra, who seemed to be radiating a happiness that had come from when she first showed him her positive pregnancy test.
She even had a new habbit, which was to rub her belly softly, and lovingly, despite the fact that no baby bump was present.
While she was not at the stage for wearing any maternity clothing, Jaune knew that she was looking at the different stores in Argus to find some brands that were good and comfortable for her, along with reading articles online about what to do to keep herself healty and the developing baby healthy during pregnancy.
"Jaune, it's nearly time to go." She said, allthough, her tone of voice was rather sad and she had a bittersweet smile on her face, like she didn't want him to leave, but she also wanted him to continue with his education at the same time.
She did enjoy having him over, moreso than before. She just thinks that is due to the fact that Jaune is going to be the father of her- their child - and she just wants him around more often. She might also blame her rapid and very sporadic mood swings that she was starting to get.
"Alright then." He replied, getting up from his chair and giving it a brief once over, making sure that he left nothing behind. Nodding to himself once he saw that nothing was left, he picked up his suitcase and made his way towards the door, as he looked up, he saw that Terra was looking rather down in the dumps about him leaving, "Hey." He said gently, with his free hand, he cupped her chin and made her look at him.
He saw tears starting to form in her eyes just behind her glasses.
Now, Jaune wasn't a real romance guy or knew how to deal with a crying women that well, so he did one thing that he saw Terra do to Saphron and vice versa when either one of them were upset.
He gave her a small kiss on the lips, where his senses were filled with the smell of coconut from her shampoo, along with the taste of strawberries from her lipstick, pulling himself away, he looked her in the eyes, smiling to himself when he saw the shocked look on her face, along with a smile starting to twitch upon her lips, "I will be back, either when the next term ends, or if you are going into labour." He started, before continuing on, "If you ever need to talk, either you or Saphron, you can always call me, yeah?" He stated, bringing her into a one-armed hug for a few moments, before making his way down the stairs.
Terra smiled lightly as she watched Jaune make his way down the stairs, before her hand made its way to her stomach and she rubbed it soothingly.
As Jaune made his way down the stairs, he was met with Saphron, who also looked a little upset at seeing him with his gear ready to leave, however, she shook her head getting rid of those emotions, before she rushed at Jaune, engulfing him in a massive hug, "Be safe, don't forget to call us every now and again? All right?" Although what she said might've been a question, for Jaune, who was used to the look and the tone of voice knew that it wasn't a question, but it was a statement, and it meant serious pain if he didn't follow through with it.
Bringing his hand up, he ruffled her hair, despite her being older than he was, he was still taller than she, so it made it easy to do things like this, "Alright, Saph. I won't forget. Also call me if anything comes up regarding Terra's health." He said, ignoring the pout that she was doing as she tried to undo the mess that Jaune made of her hair, "I'll miss you." He added on, giving her one last hug before picking up his suitcase once again and making his way to the door.
However, he stopped just before the door and turned around, seeing that Terra was making her way down the staircase, looking back at Saphron, "Call our family, tell them to ring me, I'll be ready to face the consequences of me running away and going against their wishes." With one final wave, he opened the door and made his way out of the house.
He was ready to face whatever was going to come his way next. He had to, as a team leader, friend, and as a soon-to-be father.
END CHAPTER
Alright, I hope you liked this little interlude chapter. I know it wasn't much, but it did have some importance, however, it wasn't enough to be considered a full 'chapter', so I merely put it into an interlude. Before anyone mentions the armor, it is Jaune's volume 7 armor... just that Pyrrha is alive and used some of her leftover armor that she doesn't use or it doesn't fit her anymore.
Ruby and Yang, along with the others that have had feelings starting to grow and develop for Jaune almost like Pyrrha has staked a claim and made her first move on Jaune.
This chapter shows how Jaune's relationship with Terra and Saphron grew.
It also showed Jaune's improvement when it comes to sparring, and of course, developed his relationship along with Pyrrha, along with meeting her mother.
The next little interlude will be for Ruby and Yang.
