RWBY - The Adorkable Knight

Well, here is the final interlude before we head into 'Volume 2' of the fanfiction. I do hope that you are enjoying this, and with what I am changing for canon. Considering that I am not a massive die hard fan of RWBY, considering that I really only watched Volume 1-3, and some of 6 and 7. I don't know, the show just doesn't stand out much to me anymore.

Either that or my tastes are just changing.

Anyway, don't forget to leave a Review, Follow and Favorite.

Newest Update on my Update Book

Well, I just had a idea pop into my head, it is a RWBY fanfiction, but one that is a little... out there and probably something might not take off well with most of you.

Anyway, the general idea of the fanfiction (A harem, btw, but sort of one that Jaune isn't aiming to get, it just... happens by things out of his control), is that Jaune becomes a ward at a Women's Insane Asylum, as he just really wants to help people, but the only way that he could get into this field, was by accepting this job that was placed on the table.

Considering the fact that to get admitted to an insane Asylum (For men and women) back in the day was really easy and sometimes something that was done without proof of the condition or 'insanity', it wouldn't be too out there for some of the reasons, and some of the reasons were real stupid. However, more often than not, the people going into the insane asylum will never leave, or if they did, they changed a lot, and I mean A LOT.

So, with that, give me any woman from the show (only RWBY) that could be in there, and give me a reason as to why they are in there, and for how long they have been in there. Also, give me some personalities for them as well.

WARNING - The women that fall for Jaune... well, they are a little... off in the mind, meaning that they will be rather obsessed or possibly have Yandere-like tendencies for Jaune. Remember, Jaune wants to help these women get back into society, so that means that if he has to bite the bullet with them, he would.

I already have three characters confirmed in the story; Willow, Winter and Weiss.

- Either PM me or leave in a Review with who you want to be in the story with Jaune. Remember to give solid reasoning for why they are in the Insane Asylum. For Faunus' it could simply be because of their animal features and they were caught outside of Menagerie.

Interlude - Ruby and Yang

Ruby Rose was bouncing on the balls of her feet as she continued to jitter and move about on the RORO - also known as Roll-on/Roll-off - she was one of the three personel on the rather moderate ship, with Yang and the person operating the moderate vehicle carrier.

The reason why she was on the large water transport that was meant for vehicles? Yang wanted to bring her motorcycle - Bumblebee as she called it, it was an odd name, but it made sense since the main color scheme was yellow and black. Why Yang wanted to bring it? She had no idea, Yang often took long rides around Patch, and Ruby was never really a fan of the motorcycle, but she dealt with it, as Yang had to deal with her all the time, so it was only fair.

During the small month break that was between terms, Ruby and Yang had went home to Patch to be with their father; Taiyang, who had a love for puns and dad jokes, which is where Yang got her puns from. Those puns or jokes tended to be bad, but they long since learned to ignore them and play along with them if they were in the mood... at least, that is what her, Weiss and Blake learnt.

Ruby for her part stayed in her room for most of the break, mostly fidling with her weapon; Crescent Rose, trying to see if any improvements could be made to it, to either improve its power, deployability or effectiveness. She hadn't found anything yet, but she had a feeling that she would at some point in the near future.

When she wasn't fidling with Crescent Rose or trying to modify it, her mind went to someplace else, mainly thinking of new combinations that she and her team can utilise to gain an advantage over Grimm or if the worst comes to it; the White Fang. However, she has taken some time and effort to try and come up with team combination attacks, mainly for their 'sister' team; JNPR.

It was challenging, as they weren't color themed and some were more helpful than others, and it was challenging to find the 'perfect' match for those attacks.

Not that she was hating on it, it just was hard to think of cool names on the spot, and it annoyed the cute fifteen year old, who was unable to make a name, at least with her team it was easy as they either had color schemes or their semblances helped with making the name for the team and combination attacks.

Although, speaking of team JNPR, specifically the J portion of the team, Ruby often found herself thinking about her fellow team leader and her first true friend at Beacon; Jaune Arc.

He was her first friend that she made at Beacon, or the very first friend that she remembered making, one who became her friend for her, and not trying to get close to her sister, Yang. As she remembered a few times in her childhood where a few people became her 'friends' in order to get closer to Yang, as they believed that becoming friends with her youngest sister would place them in Yang's good books.

However, that was swiftly dealt with by Yang herself, who in a fit of protective rage, severly beat those people down.

Jaune on the other hand, didn't do that. He became friends with her, and she found him to be a lot like her, both were awful when it came to socialising with new people, and while she wouldn't admit it out loud, and give her sister further teasing material, they were both rather clumsy. While she was clumsy when it came to handling certain things, Jaune was clumsy when it came to most things. It was just a quirk of his that she came to appreciate and like.

To her, Jaune was someone who she could trust... maybe not with something as serious and personal; such as her period cycles - she doubted he would want to know them anyway - but she could trust him with secrets, maybe even she could convince her dad and Yang to invite him over at some point in the future.

However, that thought made her frown lightly, something which was a rarity for her. She remembered what happened between herself and her family one night at dinner in the break time, and it was something that not only embarrassed her, but also made her father a little weary that his 'little girl' was growing up and gave Yang a personal goal in this and upcoming terms when it came to judging Jaune Arc.

FLASHBACK

It was another normal dinner for the Rose/Xiao Long family in a modest house on the island of Patch, where the only odd and unusual thing would be that the pet of the household, a corgi that goes by the name of Zwei, that is a companion that can easily take on smaller Grimm and win easily. The odd thing would be that the dog was joining the family and eating from a doggy bowl at the table, rather than on the ground around the table.

The dog was occupying one of the three empty chairs, one of which was beside Taiyang, Ruby's father, a seat that used to belong to Raven Branwen, before she left in the middle of the night, and then it belonged to Summer Rose, Taiyang's second wife, before she too, went missing and is presumed dead from a mission gone wrong.

It was a quiet event, as it normally was as everyone was off in their own little world of thoughts, barely paying attention to the dinner they were eating, it was basically muscle memory at this point and they didn't exactly need to pay full attention to what they were doing. The dinner in this case was a simple plate of bangers and mash, with a side of gravy.

As Ruby sat picking at one of the bangers on her plate, which was lightly covered in barbeque sauce, her face was starting to get a little flushed as her mind wandered elsewhere, mainly concerning the blonde and rather dorky knight they have come to bond with during their stay at Beacon.

At that point in time, Yang reached for her cup, which was filled with soda, spotted an oddly quiet Ruby playing with her food, that wasn't odd, but it was with how silent she was, normally at dinner time Ruby was at least humming something, however, she was as quiet as a dead mouse, so, she decided to know what was happening, being the protective older sibling.

However, now that she looked closely, she could spot a small flush on her cheeks. The food wasn't hot, nor was it all that warm in the dining room. Instinctively, she narrowed her eyes, before taking a small breath and decided to bite the bullet, "So, Ruby. What are you thinking about?" Yang inquired, peering at the form of Ruby at the other side of the table.

"Huh!?" Ruby jerked back into reality with Yang's question, as she turned her gaze to her, she suddenly felt really small, with the way that Yang's gaze seemed to bore into her own eyes, "Well... I was thinking of Jaune." She mumbled out, hoping that her sister would let her off easy.

That was not the case, as Yang raised a delicate brow, trying to understand what she had said, but was unable to comprehend it, "Pardon, what was that?" She inquired

Taiyang, merely thinking this was a girl thing, didn't pay full attention, as this happened occasionally between the siblings, but he still would keep a keen interest in the conversation. He merely hid it with taking a swig from his glass, which was filled with a moderate amount of juice.

Ruby fidgeted slightly, she didn't want to say it louder - especially in front of her father - but then Yang would never quit until she found out, taking a deep breath, she let the cat out of the bag, "I said I was thinking about Jaune." She murmured out, however, it was loud and clear to the occupants of the dining table.

The occupants at the table had different reactions once the statement finally set into their minds. Zwei barked happily, with his tongue hanging out and his tiny body jittering with happiness, happy that his master was thinking about a friend, although he would have to... see about this human that his master seemed to be thinking about.

If he didn't seem right or was acting odd in anyway, then he would happily bite his rear end and chase him around til he dropped dead. No one hurt his masters!

Taiyang regretted about hiddng his curiousness behind taking sips of his juice, when the statement was dropped, his timing was rather poor for taking a sip and the juice went down the wrong hole, causing him to choke and cough repeatedly, trying to inhale as much air as possible, to help himself along, he was slamming his fist into his chest, which was helping the ordeal out a bit. However, his mind was absolutely racing with different things. Overprotective thoughts severly outran the slight bit of happiness he felt for his youngest daughter.

While he was happy that she has made friends at Beacon, if the multitude of messages she has sent him, however, none of them included this Jaune character, and from the way it sounded, it had to be a male name, and he didn't know who this male was and how he got so close to Ruby.

Although, locked away and hidden behind the overprotective thoughts, he was happy - and concerned - that Ruby has gotten a crush, it was simple from the way her mind seemed to linger on him and the fact she was nervous to say his name at the table. He hoped that it was a simple school girl crush that would pass with time, although something lingered and taunted him that it wasn't the case.

He would need to find this... Jaune person and have a nice... chat to him, the one that many potential boyfriends had with said girls father. He will try not to use any force when the time came, although he would test him, to see if he is worthy of his precious youngest daughter.

Yang on the other hand, well... her expression was easily distinguishable, with her eyes burning a deep crimson and were rather narrowed from the statement - one could say she looked like the embodiment of a hellcat, a pang of something rumbled in her chest - whether it was from anger or jealousy, she didn't know, but something painful was happening in her chest - it was a rather close guarded secret that Yang harbored some form of affection for the dorky knight of Beacon - what a fitting name for him - however, she didn't expect for Ruby to have a crush on him as well.

Ruby was rather easy to read for anybody if the took the time to know her, however, as Yang had been there all of her life, even being the mother figure in Ruby's life after Summer 'Super Mom' Rose passed away, Yang could read her little sister and her emotions like an open childrens book. She could tell that Ruby harbored a crush for him.

"I... see." Yang muttered through gritted teeth, taking another gaze at Ruby, she simply said, "We will talk about this later, alright?" While to anybody else, to Taiyang - who finally recovered from his choking - and Ruby and Zwei, they knew it wasn't a question, it was a statement.

Ruby gulped lightly at her sisters expression, and she merely nodded her head in confirmation, before looking back down to her food, deciding that know would be the best time to eat, as she believed this might be her final meal.

END FLASHBACK

Ruby shuddered at remembering that moment, it was never easy seeing or dealing with her sister when she was like that, as everything that she said could have became a bomb waiting to explode in some form, however, she was glad that she seemed to have calmed down within the thirty minutes that it took to finish that meal.

While the talk was rather awkward and rather touchy, it became aparent to Ruby that Yang also had a crush on Jaune. She wasn't sure when Yang gained the crush on him - it may have been the fact that he didn't stare at her chest when she was around, laughed at her puns or was steadily improving in skills... or if it was something as simple as his looks, she never really was sure when it came to Yang - but for her, they way she saw Jaune had definately changed during the Forever Fall accident, where he pushed her out of the way of the sap.

He did it, even though he was severly allergic to the stuff. Sure, she might have been embarrassed if she got hit by it, especially if it got on her clothes and made it all sticky, but she would survive, and when those Rapier Wasps came flying towards them afterwards, she would have just taken her clothes off and throw them away from the group - that would have been more embarrasing since Jaune and Ren were there, and them being the only two boys that were outnumbered two to six, however, she was wearing spat shorts with her underwear underneath, along with wearing a sports bra, so, she wasn't completely naked.

It would have been embarrassing in the moment, but it is something that could easily be forgotten or simply looked over, as it was in a more dangerous situation.

However, despite that, he still took the sap, placing himself in danger and placing her needs and being above his own, something which she can appreciate, as she would do the same thing, if the case ever arose.

That was where the friendship eventually evolved past mere friendship, and how she gained a crush on her fellow team leader, and her first friend at Beacon.

While she may have been young compared to her yearmates, she certainly wasn't naive or innocent to crushes or love - she just ignored them for a while and they went away, however, with Jaune, it didn't - and most innuendos that Yang performed daily didn't fly over her head either, its just that dirty thoughts just didn't enter her head as quickly as they seemed to for Yang and the others.

Shaking her head from those thoughts, she placed herself down on one of the many scattered seats on the rather large ship and rested against the wall, where she eventually dozed off.

With some thoughts lingering in her mind as she did so. What would the next term bring to them? Will there be more homework to do now that the first years were settled into the academy life?

Yang was many things. She was boistrous, strong, a little hot-headed, and in Weiss' words 'Unlady-like'. However, she also knew what it was like to harbor a crush on someone. Despite her entire 'party girl' reputation and flirtatious attitude, she never really had been in a relationship for more than a month, and that was when she was reaching on in the years of Signal, where many of her 'girl'friends were in a relationship of their own.

Her first 'relationship' had been in her second to final year at Signal, where her first crush happened to be on the resident bully and all around dickhead. She didn't know why she gained a crush or gained interest for the young teen, maybe it was from the way he carried himself, or maybe from his strength. When she was asked out by the bully, she was ecstatic and accepted it without second thought.

Then, everything spiralled out of control, when the final stages of puberty set in for her and she matured more, she found out that the boy she was dating for a solid three weeks, was nothing more than a jerk and idiot, and someone who was all bark and no bite. What she thought of confidence was merely arrogance coming from his end, his strength was through intimidation and bribing, something which she didn't take lightly, and that he was a pig, but that would be an insult to pig faunus' out there and to actual pigs.

The final straw that broke the camels back per se was when she found out that he and his little group of jocks were picking on her little sister, and that one of her friends was saying that he was flaunting the fact he was dating the 'Yellow Dragon of Signal'.

That relationship ended faster than Ruby eating a cookie.

So when the entire ordeal of finding out that Ruby had a crush on Jaune, she was devastated, but she also decided to make it a competition to see who can win Jaune's heart first.

A friendly competition between sisters to see who can win the heart of their crush first, however, they decided to be fair, they couldn't sabotage each other, and each attempt had to be from the heart, and not thinking about the competition as the driving force behind it.

Setting herself down on one of the benches in the garage section of the RORO, Yang contemplated on what she learnt, remembering the conversation that she had with Ruby.

FLASHBACK

It had been a solid half an hour since Yang had decided to have a chat with Ruby with concerns about having a crush on Jaune Arc. In that half an hour, Yang had to wait for what felt like an eternity for Ruby to finish her dinner, which she must have guessed that taking her time to do so would make it so it would be less of a problem. It was a smart idea.

Except, Yang wasn't a very patient person, and the longer she had to wait, the more antsy and irritated she got.

So by the time Ruby had finished her dinner, Yang could feel the irritation burning deep within herself, and she wouldn't be surprised if her eyes were deep crimson. If she felt irritated enough or getting close to activating her semblance, she learnt that her eyes would turn a smoldering, crimson red, something she then used as an intimidation tactic to seem more threatening to others that would annoy her.

Watching Ruby place the utensils down on her plate, Yang decided that would be enough time wasting. Quickly getting up from her seat, which made a really loud squeaking noise as the chair legs rubbed against the wooden floorboards, she reached out and grabbed Ruby by the scruff of her pajama top and briskly walked away, all but dragging Ruby behind her.

"Yaaang! Quit it!" Ruby whined out, her legs flailing in the air, unable to get onto the ground. Yang had managed to lift her high enough so that her feet couldn't touch the ground and try to add resistence.

"No, you had enough time already." She briskly replied to Ruby's whines. When they got to the stairs, Yang used her strength to lift Ruby even higher off the ground, allowing her enough room so that her feet didn't hit the wooden stairs.

Ruby merely pouted as they made the journey up the stairs, she clearly saw that there was no point in trying to reason with Yang in this state.

It was a relative silent journey up the stairs and into Yang's room - which was across the hall from Ruby's room - the only real sound being made was the footfalls from Yang and the rather loud breathing coming from her.

Once inside the room, which was relatively bland for a girls room - although most of her posters were in the dorm room at Beacon - she dropped Ruby down on the floor, not really concerned when she landed on her behind. She landed on carpet, plus the drop wasn't all that high, and Yang quickly went to the door and and closed it, even going as far to lock it with a slight clicking noise.

Turning on her heel and placing her hands on her hips, Yang turned her gaze directly into Ruby's eyes. She happened to be taking a position that she used to do when they were younger and Yang was in the mothering stage for Ruby. This pose was when she caught Ruby trying to steal from a cookie jar, "So, explain yourself." She simply said, tapping her right foot on the ground, making it even more nerve wracking for Ruby.

Gulping lightly, Ruby decided to preen for more information, "What do you mean?" She asked softly, looking down to the ground, unable to look in Yang's smoldering eyes.

Sighing to herself, Yang got out of the pose to try and look less threatening and intimidating to her sister, "I want to know why you are thinking of Jaune? Is it a crush or something?" Yang inquired Ruby, taking a few paces before coming closer to her, where she knelt down closer to her sisters height and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Ruby was about to deny Yang's accusation, but then, she truly thought about it. After the Forever Fall incident, the way she thought of Jaune changed, and that led to her denying it with her mind, but her heart said otherwise. A few nights ago, she even had one of those dreams, a dream about where she and Jaune were a couple and were together slaying Grimm and protecting villagers, and afterwards, they were sitting under an old Oak tree and shared a kiss under the sunset.

Then, another dream came, and it was definately more spicy than the other ones. She had heard of wet dreams before, but she never truly understood what it meant to have one, until she had one and she was with Jaune, doing things that are definately meant for adults... although, they did look older in the dream.

"It... yes." She eventually got out, continuing to look at the ground, not wanting to see her sisters face.

Once Yang heard that, she had to stop herself from cursing out loud, instead she hid all those feelings down, and gently placed her hand under Ruby's chin and tilting her heard upwards, making her look herself in the eyes, "It's normal for this to happen, Ruby." Yang stated, trying to calm Ruby down as she could see some tears starting to form in her eyes, "It happens to everyone, even myself currently." She admitted to her little sister.

Ruby seeme to find comfort in that, as she didn't seem nervous anymore, however, what Yang said finally set in, her head snapped back up to her, her silver eyes alight with mischeif, "Really? Who do you have a crush on?" She asked rather excitedly.

Yang took a deep breath, fully aware of what she might say would devastate her sister, "Well, like you, I also have a crush on Jaune." She admitted, and waited for a few seconds for Ruby to react to her statement.

"Oh, thats so- wait... WHAT?!" Ruby shouted, the statement taking a while to set in, before she glared at her sister, her eyes seemingly glowing in anger, "What do you mean you have a crush on him as well?" She basically demanded her younger sister, pointing an accusing finger at her chest.

Seeing how Ruby took it rather harshly, she quickly brought her hands up to try and placate her younger sisters rage, "Woah, Ruby. Like I said, I have a crush on him... I guess he has just grown on me." She said, although once she saw her sister somehow narrow her eyes even further, she quickly added in, "I mean, he is friendly, can be funny, he doesn't stare at my chest when I am near, unless I am teasing him of course, and he treats you well." She added in.

Ruby seemed to ponder upon Yang's reasoning, before she harrumphed, sticking her nose in the air and looking at her through the corner of her eye, "Fine. However, I will not lose to you Yang." She stated, before turning her body and bringing her hand out for a handshake, "May the best sister win."

Yang blinked a few times, seemingly caught off guard with how bold her sister had become. She smirked before reciprocating the action, "Just don't go crying when you lose." She added.

"I won't be losing!"

END FLASHBACK

Yang sighed at the memory, now she knew that either her heart of Ruby's heart would be broken when Jaune choses one over the other, however, that doesn't mean that she would give her sister any advantage over her, like they say, 'All is fair in love and war.'.

Besides, with the way that Jaune came to her and asked her for some hand-to-hand combat training made it so much more easier to keep an eye on Ruby's advances or impacts of said advances disguised through some questions about his day or week on the day they met. She could also use the training days that they would have as an incentive to beat Ruby and win his heart.

A slight flush formed on her cheeks as she imagined that it would be like a 'student-teacher' thing. With Jaune being her 'student' and or 'punching bag' whilst she was the teacher, giving him pointers and helping him train in hand-to-hand combat.

She could also use it as something to learn some more things about him, as he was only one of the two boys in a group of six - who in her mind, were very attractive and had many conflicting personalities - girls, he seemed rather withdrawn when it came to personal things, mainly because it would be awkward for him do join in, as the gossip between them only really appealed to girls and not guys.

However, she doubted that Nora would give Jaune the time of day. Not in a bad way, it's just that she and Ren seemed to be very, very close to each other, and all it would take is a mere suggestion or possibly a nudge in the right direction to get them together.

So that meant that Jaune was the only male in a group of five beautiful teenage girls who were single.

It might be challenging, as she fully believes that she and Ruby can't be the only ones that were either crushing on Jaune or have simply not come to terms with it yet. However, she was absolutely determined to be with him. However, in the days leading up to the term break, she didn't miss the way that Pyrrha was looking at Jaune or was acting around him.

That simple thought was enough to place another frown on her face. If her hunch was correct, then there would be another challenger for Jaune's heart, and that would make things even more difficult for her and Ruby, considering that Pyrrha was not only on the same team as him, but from what she could tell, they were training together most nights on the roof-tops.

Somewhere deep in her mind, she found that if multiple people would be in a relationship with him, then it will be kinky as fuck, along with plenty of chances to... experiment, either with simple satisfaction or learning and using some dirty kinks against each other.

She grinned from her position, 'Be ready Jaune.' She thought to herself, before she dozed off, hoping that her dreams will allow her into some insight on what to do first in this little game.

END CHAPTER

Alright guys, that is the end of that little Interlude for Yang and Ruby. It hasn't changed much from the original because I felt like this was enough to show how Ruby and Yang started to have feelings for Jaune.

Please do forgive any slight spelling mistakes, typos or anything like that. I can't catch everything and I sometimes miss the smallest of things. In some cases, some words may be spelt differently where you are compared to where I am. Considering that Americans spell a word like this; 'Color' however, in Australia we spell it like this; 'Colour'.

Anyway, there will be a small break before I upload the first chapter of 'Volume 2' of this story. Don't forget to leave a Review, Follow and Favorite.
