RWBY - The Adorkable Knight
Alright guys, welcome to one of the three chapters that will help with the bonding between Jaune and Professor Goodwitch, and nothing other than that will happen in this chapter. There will be another two chapters like this, and those will be for Blake and Weiss respectively.
I just wanted to solidify how, why and when these remaining women will eventually come to terms with their feelings for Jaune.
I would also like to point out that we are nearly at the point where Determined Knight was left off for this re-write, and I am feeling much more comfortable with this version.
Don't forget to leave a Review, drop a follow and favorite, along with checking out my other stories if you haven't already. I know its cliche and rather overused, but seeing all of them really helps out, and lets me know that people are enjoying my works
Harem for this story! This will NOT be changed! [I don't understand WHY I have to keep having this in place.]
Jaune x Saphron - Arcest
Jaune x Terra Cotta - Arcotta
Jaune x Pyrrha - Arkos
Jaune x Ruby - Lancaster
Jaune x Yang - Dragon Slayer
Jaune x Blake - Knightshade
Jaune x Weiss - White Knight
Jaune x Glynda - Excalibur
Anywho, with that being said, let us continue on... after these questions left by the reviewers last chapter have been answered.
NeoInfinity: Thank you for the kind words, they mean a lot to me. I'm glad that you continue to enjoy my works, even through the re-writes.
Liquidforest: Thanks for the ideas, I will possibly use them if I don't get any other ideas from the readers.
Pariah of the multiverse: Well, a few chapters ago you wished for a Yandere harem. Well, you have your wish, although it is not for this story, but I have accepted a challenge and it involves a !FemNaruto x Yandere harem. Hope that counts.
Chapter 11 - Detention with Professor Goodwitch
It hadn't been a good time for Jaune, nor was it for Ruby. As expected, they had gotten into trouble because of the foodfight incident that had happened in the cafeteria not even a few hours ago. It was also pretty bad that it was Professor Goodwitch was the one reprimanding them, probably the most strictest and stern out of all the Professor's that Beacon Academy had.
At least if Professor Port caught them, then there would've been a small chance that the jolly fellow would have laughed it off, and somehow managed to tell them a story of his childhood and from the time if he ever got in a foodfight.
However, that was not the case, as now Jaune and Ruby were situated in the empty classroom that belonged to Professor Goodwitch's Combat Class. This was the case because both him and Ruby were team leaders, and thus needed to be punished by the Professor that supervised the leader classes.
Everyone else was on detention as well, and for the sake of things, everybody was split up to different Professor's of the academy and having some kind of punishment. From what he heard, Yang and Nora had gotten the worst punishment out of the lot of them, due to them being the instigators of the food fight that quickly evolved into something much more messy and dangerous to bystanders.
Ruby had mentioned in the aftermath of everything, a pillar had been broken from the sheer force of the fight that had happened, and many tables belonging in the cafeteria had been broken, with one of them even being flung through a window somehow.
He was pretty sure that they were being supervised by Doctor Oobleck, and they were cleaning the mess that they caused, which meant they were picking off the scraps of food, trails of sauce and mopping the floors of the place.
He felt sorry for them, Doctor Oobleck could be very picky, and from him learning about what had happened, he would probably be a little angry.
He also wouldn't be surprised if his team and team RWBY had to help pay for the damages done to the place and to help pay for the furniture that needed to be replaced.
"I hope you two realise how much trouble you are in." The stern voice of Professor Goodwitch rang out in the empty classroom as she paced between Jaune's desk to Ruby's desk, and to Jaune and Ruby, the sound of her clicking heels and the small 'cracks' that her riding crop made against her skin was enough to send shivers down their spines.
"Yes, Professor Goodwitch." Ruby muttered out, not even bringing her eyes up to look at the Professor.
"Yes, ma'am. I am aware." Jaune spoke out softly, his voice easily being heard by Ruby and the Professor, despite the clicking of her heels and the noise that her riding crop made when it made contact with her skin.
"What your teams did was very irresponisble. It was a miracle that no one got hurt from this." She added on, standing in between the two desks that the team leaders were sitting at, making sure to give eye contact to both of them, who flinched under the gaze that she had.
The amount of anger that were showing in her eyes along with the way that her facial expression was set in a scowl helped with that.
Risking a glance over towards Ruby, Jaune couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the younger girl. She looked like she was ready to curl up underneath a blanket and hide until she felt like she was safe.
"I'm sorry, ma'am." Jaune spoke out, getting Professor Goodwitch's attention off of Ruby and onto himself, "It was my fault for not trying to intervene, and when things were getting a little heated, I had left the cafeteria with Pyrrha. I'll accept any punishment that you would feel is suited for me, as I had failed to control my partner." He added on, idly rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand, where he felt tears starting to escape them.
"I'm sorry as well, Professor Goodwitch. I'll accept any punishment that you decide to give me, for not trying to prevent the food fight, but from also participating in it." Ruby murmured out, from where he was sitting, Jaune could see some tears landing on her table, along with a few sniffles being heard coming from her.
Softening her glare slightly, Glynda spoke out, "I realise that." She said, gaining the duo's attention, "However, despite that, you will still have to face reprecussions, and that will be done with a week's worth of detention. Expect to be held back in class by any of your class Professor's, I won't be handling them all, it's the same for your team. It has been decided that it would be best to keep you separated to make sure you know that detentions aren't meant to be fun." She stated, looking at both team leaders as she revealed the length of the punishment, and the basic details of what will be happening.
While many students thought of her as someone who was strict and knew no sense of humor, that wasn't the case, she just put her job above everything else. Also, with the rumors of saying that she loves dishing out detentions left and right, that was untrue as well.
Every Professor had their own way of dishing out detention. For Doctor Oobleck's case, he liked to give additional readings to the students in question, forcing them to do more work rather than spending time doing what they want. Ann Green was the same case, giving out additional readings to those students not paying attention, however, if a case of bullying was caught in her classroom, then she would be much more harsher.
In her opinion, the harsher punishments that Ann Green dish out are much more worse than her own.
"Now, Ruby. I want you to clean everything off of the whiteboards around the room." Glynda said, gesturing with her hand towards the dozen or so whiteboards that had various levels of writing on them. Some were definitely had less room than others.
"Yes, ma'am." Ruby muttered out as she stood up from her desk, she was about to head to the Professor's desk and grab the large whiteboard rubber. Hopefully she could use her semblance to help speed things up a bit.
"Ruby." Turning her attention back towards Professor Goodwitch, who was looking at her like she had an inkling to what she was thinking, "No semblance. Like I said, detention isn't meant to be fun nor is it supposed to be enjoyable."
Sighing deeply, Ruby's entire body seemed to deflate as she heard that she wasn't allowed to use her semblance to help speed things up. With a little less energy than before, Ruby trudged her way down to the desk that held the whiteboard rubber.
She wasn't going to enjoy this one bit, and seeing the amount of whiteboards that she had to clean nearly made her whimper.
"Mr. Arc." Professor Goodwitch suddenly spoke out.
Taking his eyes off of Ruby, who was now starting on the whiteboards, he placed his full attention on Professor Goodwitch... whose eyes seemed to convey a multitude of emotions, and anger wasn't the main one. Instead... it seemed to be concern, and even a little bit of happiness?
"Y-yes?" He stuttered out, he really wasn't expecting Professor Goodwitch to have those sorts of emotions displayed in her eyes.
"You understand why you and Pyrrha also recieved detentions, correct?" She said, inching just that little closer to Jaune's desk.
Nodding his head, he gave what he thought was the reasoning, "Yes, it is because that my partner and Ren, started and participated in a food fight, and caused a lot of damage to the cafeteria."
"Yes, that is one of the reasons." Goodwitch said, nodding her head at Jaune's reasoning.
Blinking a little, he couldn't help but be confused at that statement that she made. Only one of the reasons? Clearing his throat so he doesn't have an embarrassing voice-crack, he asked, "Uh, what are the other reasons?" He almost shrunk in on himself, almost fearing to hear the other reasons.
Doing her best to keep a smile off of her face as she saw the rather cute reaction that Jaune did, she simply decided to use the edge of Jaune's desk as a small seat for a bit, "Well, for one, while you and Pyrrha were indeed not involved in the food fight and were elsewhere before it got out of hand, I still had to punish everyone involved in the incident." She started explaining, keeping her gaze on Jaune as she did so, "I believe it would be unfair for only half of the team to get punished while the others don't. Hmm?" She finished explaining, tilting her head and giving a small hum at the end of her explanation.
Leaning back in his chair as he heard the reasoning, he couldn't help but acknowledge that was a very good reason. It was rather unfair for a few people to be un-punished for something while the others did. Plus, he couldn't help but admit that since Nora was his partner, then it was fair that he got in trouble for her actions as well, "I understand, ma'am." Jaune spoke out, before giving a small sigh with it, "Nora is hard to control sometimes, she just has too much energy for her own good sometimes. I promise to try better with that in the future." He finished, looking Professor Goodwitch in the eyes.
For a moment, however, he could've sworn that he saw a proud smile adorn her features before it was replaced with her usual stern expression.
"Very mature of you, Mr. Arc." Goodwitch spoke out, nodding her head at the attitude that Jaune possessed. However, while she was here, she decided to bring something else up, "Mr. Arc, I would like to congratulate you for your improvements that you have shown in sparring and training." She said, surprising him a little.
Making a soft noise of surprise, Jaune blinked a few times, wondering what she meant by that, there haven't been any classes yet, "What do you mean, ma'am." He questioned, interested to know what she meant by that.
Jaune watched as she brought her scroll out from her pencil skirt pocket and activated it, before maneuvering her way around the screens with ease, and eventually pulling up his file, "I mean this." She simply said, before laying the scroll down on the desk just in front of Jaune so he could see.
Looking at the Professor and seeing her gesture towards the scroll, he took a small glimpse at it, before his eyes widened slightly.
Displayed on the screen was the results of Jaune's time within the training room with the bots, and there were plenty of them. Each of them had recorded the time active in the training 'session', the level that the AI was programmed on, how many AI's he had taken down, and even the aura results from when he exited the session. Another minor display was the amount of aura that he had going into the session.
Most of which were completely full, although there were a few scattered around when there were a few slithers missing, and one when he was in the yellow when he started. That one wasn't fun, considering that he decided to push himself through that ordeal after having Yang tutor him.
"How did..." Jaune began, but his question soon died in his throat as he continued to look at the results.
"Whenever someone enters the training room and starts the program, it takes a picture of the person entering and places it within the database of the training facilities, which are then gathered and sorted accordingly." She explained to Jaune, before she quickly turned her attention towards Ruby, to see if she was actually doing what she was meant to be doing.
Seeing as she was now cleaning the third whiteboard without the use of her semblance, she turned her attention back to Jaune.
"Wow..." He muttered out, "I guess I have been improving thanks to Pyrrha." He murmured out once again, keeping his eyes on the latest results that had been taken.
When he first started using the training facility, he could barely last a few minutes, even with his sizeable aura reserves, and he could hardly take down three AI's at most. However, seeing the averages in the past few training sessions compared to the older ones, he could see a massive improvement.
Not only with how long he has lasted, but also with his aura level management and even how many AI he has been taking out per session.
Of course he was still on one of easier difficulties as he wanted to perfect everything on the easier AI, but witnessing the improvements, he was starting to feel like he could push himself and bump up the AI one or two levels.
"Indeed." Glynda agreed, nodding her head at Jaune's statement. Taking the scroll from the table and placing it back within her skirt pocket - after turning it off of course - she once again spoke out, "You know, back when you first started here, I wasn't impressed whatsoever, I thought you thought that this was a game." She begun, ignoring the look of depression that overcame him, "Now, I see that I was wrong, I believe that you have what it takes to become a great huntsman, and a great tactician. Despite the problem with your transcripts, I can say that you surprised me." She finished off, sending a knowing glance towards Jaune about his papers.
Snapping his head up to meet the gaze of Professor Goodwitch so fast that he was surprised that he didn't get whiplash, he couldn't help but squeak out, "You knew!?" Jaune basically yelped out, staring wide-eyed at Professor Goodwitch, and he could feel the fear gripping his heart as it thumped against his chest.
"Of course, Mr. Arc." She said in a reprimanding tone, before shaking her head and giving a small titter of amusement, "Did you really think that would go unnoticed, especially within the first few days of Combat Classes?" She asked rhetorically, "It was actually Ozpin that overrode my decision to deny your application." She added on, revealing how close he was to actually not being accepted within Beacon, "However, Ozpin could sense something great in you. Surviving initiation and taking charge in the middle of battle, along with trusting seven strangers whilst doing so was the main turning point for us." She revealed once more.
Flopping back in his seat once more now that information had been shared with him, he couldn't help but thank his lucky stars. Another thought that had run into his mind was visiting Ozpin and thanking him, not only for allowing him into Beacon, but to also thank him for giving him a chance.
"Now, I'm not sure if you have told your friends yet, but I would recommend so if you haven't." She said, before standing up once again, "They deserve to know the truth, and it is entirely on the strength of the bond that you have that will determine the result of the outcome." She added on before taking a few steps away from him, "Oh, and Mr. Arc." Glynda questioned.
Glancing towards Professor Goodwitch, he was met with the tiniest of smiles from the normally stern Professor, "Yes?" He questioned.
"If you ever need any help, I am always willing to help students. However, it is up to you to make that choice." She simply said, before taking one more glance his way, "You are free to go. Just be sure to remember the other detentions you have due to this incident with the other Professor's." She stated, the small smile on her visage was gone, almost like it wasn't there to begin with as she made her way other towards Ruby.
Nodding his head at that, Jaune took a deep breath as he got up from his seat. He made sure to keep the offer open within his mind, even jotting it down in his little notebook that he always carried on him.
He was also glad that Professor Goodwitch had lowered her voice when speaking about his transcripts. He didn't want Ruby to find out that way, so now, he just needed to find the correct time to actually break it to his friends about this debacle, and if they asked, he might as well give them the truth about what was happening with his step-sister and her wife.
Due to it affecting him, and it might put a little un-needed stress on him when it comes closer to the delivery date.
With those thoughts and feelings being weighed down on him, Jaune double checked the desk and patted himself down once more, seeing nothing left behind and feeling everything in place, he left the classroom, leaving Ruby behind with Professor Goodwitch.
END CHAPTER
Alright, I hope you enjoyed this chapter that brings Jaune and Professor Goodwitch some more screentime together and allow the bond they have to grow a little further into things.
