Dream

Hinata stared at her opponent wondering where would be a good place to strike. She had the option if taking out her sensei's ankle; she could see that Anko was trying to put as little weight as possible on it.

However Anko didn't allow her any more time to think to think as Anko made a rush towards her, stumbling back Hinata looked as if she was going to falter yet quickly dodged off to the side but not before giving her sensei a small jab to the ribs. Anko skidded to a halt and quickly checked herself over then turned her attention to Hinata who was trying to make a get-a-way through the trees. Pulling out a kunai from her weapon pouch, the snake ninja took aim and nodded when the knife embedded itself into Hinata's arm.

Still the kunai didn't stop the girl from getting away, not that it mattered. No matter how far the girl went the trail of blood she left will lead Anko right to her. Knowing this Anko decided that she should fall back on the trail, it would give her ankle time to rest. However just as she was sitting down on a tree stump, a small rock clouted her on the head. Growling in annoyance Anko looked in the direction in which the rock was thrown before she was pelted with another, bigger rock this time behind her. Getting up the young teacher searched the immediate area before looking up, just as yet another rock still bigger than the last one crashed into her neck. The size and weight of the rock brought the ninja down leaving her winded for a moment.

As she lay there Anko snorted before closing her eyes and casting out her senses. She knew it was Hinata but how could she move so fast and not create even a tiny rustle in the trees? Ninja were supposed to be fast and silent but even they leave a trail or make some sort of noise, so where could the girl be? Taking a deep breath Anko combed through the area in her mind, she could Naruto's and Tei's chakra signatures and knew that they weren't helping Hinata with throwing rocks. She could now tell where Naruto and Tei were but where was Hinata?

A thump near her side broke Anko's concentration, levering herself up she was instantly sent back to the ground by a heavy blow to her legs. When she hit the dirt she felt someone grab her legs and started to slowly move her body in a sideways motion. From the charka signature Anko could tell that it was Hinata but what was she doing? No she couldn't think about that now, she had to get away from the girl and deal her a good enough blow that it would leave her staggering. Using all the strength she had Anko flipped on her back and shot forward managing to latch on Hiinata's body and brought her down with her.

The two rolled together on the ground until they forced themselves apart, Hinata quickly got to her feet while Anko took a little longer. Once up the snake ninja went through a number of hands that Hinata couldn't catch. For a moment nothing happened until the girl found herself to be among the writhing bodies of thousands of snakes. Every time she moved the snakes would wound tighter around till the point where she couldn't breathe. Gasping for breath Hinata stared at Anko who had a wicked grin on her face; she walked up to Hinata and gently patted her cheek before doing the same to one of the snakes binding her.

The snake detached itself from Hinata slightly only to wound its way around her neck, any air that she would have gotten into her lungs was now being painfully cut off, and soon the girl found it painful to even try to stay awake. As her eyes drooped from the lack of air Anko turned her back before dispelling the snakes, Hinata fell limply to the ground, barely conscious while her breathe came in shallow gasps. Anko watched as the girl slowly started to come around and once she was able to sit up she decided to disappear into the forest.

Hinata couldn't move; it hurt to even try to move her body. The snakes were thorough in taking her breath away and right now all she wanted to do was close her eyes and sleep. However just as she was about to do so something pulled her back into wakefulness. A loud growling, it sounded a bit like a dog, or maybe it was something Anko conjured up to finish her off. No matter what it was, it wouldn't let her sleep and the girl had no choice but to try once again to rise to her feet.

It took three tiring attempt s but Hinata managed to get to her feet, yet it took her even longer to start walking in the direction of Naruto and Tei. Once she had made it to the clearing where Anko had begun the test, she winced when she saw the snake ninja standing over Naruto with her foot placed heavily on his chest. The boy struggled vainly from under their sensei but couldn't even get Anko to shift her position. Hinata's eyes roved over the clearing and couldn't found a trace of Tei, where did their teammate go?

A rustle sounded close to Hinata's right and although sluggish she was to pull out a kunai, aiming it at her enemy's throat.

Tei didn't seemed fazed by the weapon just inches away from piercing her neck, gently lowering the knife she gave Hinata a cheeky wink then turned her attention on Anko. Narrowing her eyes, the reddish-brown haired girl snorted, touching a forming bruise on her arm she once again turned to Hinata, her expression expectant.

"Right, what's the plan?"

The other girl simply shrugged and watched as Anko pressed her weight on Naruto, causing him to cry out in pain. "I wouldn't really call it a plan, but I say we in and try to beat her senseless 'til we win."

"No doubt she knows we're here," Tei muttered, applying pressure on the bruise until she felt it hurt more.

Hinata noticed and grabbed her hand firmly. "Please stop. I agree with you, she's just baiting us with hurting Naruto and hoping that we'll just come out, yelling like maniacs."

Tei eased her hand out of Hinata's grip and smiled wickedly, her brown eyes glowing in excitement. "And what's wrong with yelling like maniacs?"

"Nothing, but in this case it's not very smart."

Tei gave Hinata a skeptic look, "But beating someone senseless 'til we win is?"

Hinata smirked as she readied herself to run. "Absolutely."

Tei nodded her head and together the two girls rushed out of their hiding spot, silent and alert for anything Anko might throw at them. Anko turned her head coolly to face the oncoming fighters and with one final stomp on Naruto's chest, readied herself.

First, Hinata tried to lunge for the older woman but was quickly overtaken when Anko flipped her body onto the hard ground, leaving her winded and Tei alone. The two exchanged blows with no hint of remorse, Anko gave Tei a hefty blow on her that knocked the girl senseless for a moment though she remained o her feet and retaliated with a swift punch to the right cheek. The dark haired ninja staggered back a few paces that allowed Tei follow up her attack with a kick to the stomach. This unfortunately was blocked and Tei's nose was cracked by the resulting punch.

Hinata forced herself to her feet and charged Anko, who had her back towards her thus allowing the girl to tackle her to the ground. The snake ninja growled in pain when Hinata's foot landed on her injured ankle, sending agonizing sparks through her leg. The pain caused Anko to freeze up which gave Hinata the chance to land a few punches in while Tei went to help Naruto to his fee, groaning as he did so.

The blonde boy watched as Hinata continued to hammer away at Anko until the older woman managed to kick her away, as she regained her footing, the boy noticed that she was hobbling trying to put as little weight on her ankle as possible.

Motioning for Tei to follow him, Naruto ran to cover Hinata while Tei herself stood facing Anko, the dark haired woman watched as all three students then stood together she couldn't help but smile and hoped that they would be able to win.

'Though they have been coming at me one at a time so maybe they won't win, still they are strong and this was fun.' Anko thought with a smirk as she prepared herself, hoping that her ankle will hold out.

Taking a deep breath, Anko charged at the trio while said three scattered but not too far from each other. Naruto and Tei landed side by side, each holding a kunai while Hinata was to the right of them, empty-handed. The three looked at each other and nodded before all together rushing Anko. The woman couldn't move fast enough and was assaulted by a barrage of kicks and punches yet somehow she managed to duck and weave, catching Naruto by the leg and hurling into Hinata. The two went down quickly but quickly got back up again, kunai poised for cutting.

Anko had just enough time to take out her own kunai and started hacking and slashing, tearing into Tei's shoulder, cutting Naruto's leg, and ripping Hinata's hand. Despite the injures, the three forged on, scoring several hits on Anko and leaving her bleeding from her stomach, right hand, and left shoulder. Heaving a sigh the snake ninja rushed forward, taking Tei by surprise and pinning her to the ground where she used the shuriken she was holding as a makeshift knife, stabbing the girl repeatedly.

Trying to hold in the pain was useless and as such screamed loudly, her cry made Naruto flinched but Hinata seemed more affected by it. Baring her teeth the young Hyuuga barreled right into Anko, heedless of the shuriken that was now half buried into her stomach. Together the two rolled, growling and kicking while Naruto helped Tei to her feet. Anko and Hinata broke apart with the older woman painfully yet swiftly gaining her feet first. Hinata however remained on the ground, clutching her bloodied stomach and groaning in pain.

Anko could see that Hinata's hand was outstretched and throwing the shuriken expertly buried it into the girl's hand therefore pinning her there. At first Hinata couldn't think for the pain pulsing from her stomach then she realized her impaled hand and her breath quickened. On top of that Anko began to advance on her while she was stuck, helpless. Naruto tried to stop his sensei by grabbing her from behind but the woman easily slipped out of his grasp, pulling out a kunai, slashing his side and kicking him away for his efforts. As Anko came closer, Hinata tried to free the kunai from her hand but she was losing a lot of blood and soon she beginning to see darkness creeping up her vision. Just as Anko was about to bring the kunai down on the barely conscious Hinata, Naruto screamed and tried to get to Hinata but couldn't move for the pain. But Tei could move; she ran forward crouching over her, glaring at the older woman.

"Back away, I won't let you hurt her!"

Anko stood still for a moment before lowering her weapon; she then started to reach forward causing Tei to growl but she did not move, in fact she lowered her body, almost completely covering Hinata from harm. However any pain that she was expecting did not come but she felt Anko's hand patting her cheek.

"Well done, you passed!"

"Eh?"

"You passed," Anko repeated, smiling. "I know I said that you had to beat me to win but I wanted to see if you were willing to sacrifice your life for your teammate. You did without hesitation."

"I-I don't…." Naruto stuttered, looking from Anko to Tei and back again.

"Those who run from battle are cowardly bastards but those who leave their friends to die are worse, inhuman, unworthy to live. When I saw Naruto try to move to help Hinata and you shielding her with your own body I knew you were worthy to become ninja."

Tei and Naruto though hurt, and bloody cheered loudly while Hinata smiled before passing out. The two instantly stopped and kneeled next to her, worry etched on their faces. Anko bent down and unintentionally yanked the shuriken out of the girl's hand while Tei growled at her and wrapped the wound with some bandages. Then gently picking her up the woman carried her bridal style and walked in the direction of home. She looked back to see Naruto and Tei although a little ticked at her handling of Hinata following her steadily and smiled.

Yep, even though one of them is unconscious she was sure that this cell would make it. The thought made Anko smile even more as she led them forward.

A/N: Ahhh…..that's finally done. Sorry it took forever to do but I've dropped with the bomb-shell that we are moving (YAAAAAYYYYY!) and I've been a little distracted. But I was able to get this out so enjoy.
