RWBY - The Adorkable Knight
Well, I would like to say that my finger has been feeling much better after about a week of not using it a lot, so, here I am, updating this fanfiction one more time. Once again, I would like to thank you for the continued support that you have shown me, not only in the this fanfiction, but in my other ones as well. I do hope that I can continue bringing you stuff that you like and enjoy.
Glitner: No, I didn't just breeze past the entire Blake being a Faunus thing.
edeath756: Thank you for the kind words! However, I do doubt that I am that great of an author, there are much more better ones out there. Compared to them I might be a toddler trying to beat an adult at something.
Adol116: Originally, Jaune was meant to tell them that he was becoming a father, however, when writing that out, I didn't want to over-indulge in him admitting two big things, like him being a father and also entering Beacon with fake transcripts at once.
HalloweenJackal0w0: Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I have decided to change up Jaune's family a little bit. Instead of a single mother giving birth to eight children, I have made it so that Jaune's father was in another marriage. That means that Saphron is the daughter from the previous marriage, thus a half/step-sister, however you want to place it.

Chapter 13 - Looking for a Job
Jaune found himself waiting patiently in one of the many airships in Beacon's little aircraft landing and take-off area. It had been a few days since Jaune had told the rest of team RWBY about his fake transcripts, thus, his illegal entry into Beacon Academy.
Like he imagined what would happen, Weiss seemed to be the most angry about the revelation, having avoided talking to him for an entire two days, which was only broken up when they were forced to work together for one of the assignments that Doctor Oobleck gave them about the History of Mantle.
Finding a little way to actually strike up a conversation with Weiss, he had asked his team and Ruby, Yang and Blake for him to partner up with Weiss, as a way to try and talk to her and hopefully get on a better ground with her.
Yeah, that entire duo project was a little awkward for him, and very stiff when it came to conversing with Weiss. With her only really responding to him after he had asked questions about the mines or even how the city of Atlas managed to actually still be stable and liveable high within the sky.
However, Jaune would like to think that Weiss had atleast become a little more sociable with him. However, it would still take a bit to actually regain what the bond once was before Jaune came clean about his transcripts.
Shaking his head away from those thoughts, Jaune allowed himself to look around the passenger area of the aircraft. While there were a few people scattered about, however, Jaune didn't recognise them, so he guessed they were from the upper years, or possibly some were from his year, but he just hadn't met them yet.
However, there was one passenger on the airship that surprised him, because sitting a few feet away from him, he noticed Blake, who was reading what seemed to be the final few pages of the novel that she showed him a few days ago.
Getting up from the seat that he was in, Jaune decided to sit next to her.
Plopping himself down next to her, "Hey, Blake." He greeted out softly. He didn't want others to overhear the conversation.
With her feline ears flicking atop of her head, barely giving a passing glance out of the corner of her eye, she greeted him, "Morning."
"Morning." He greeted out, before stretching his body out, getting a few satisfying pops coming from his joints. He always loved morning stretches, they just felt so good for some reason, "Heading to Tukson's Book Trade again?" He asked her.
"Yes." Blake simply replied, before shooting a glance over towards Jaune, "What are you doing?" She asked in return, a little curious to why Jaune was coming to Vale.
Sighing to himself, Jaune sat up a little straighter in the seat he was in, "I'm going to be handing in some resumes. Trying to find any employment opportunities." He answered, taping the small bookbag that he was carrying.
He knew that nearly every store liked to have resumes sent in online, however, they still appreciated resumes being handed in the 'old-school' way. Which meant that they also liked having the paper in front of them.
"Any particular interests?" She questioned, thinking of a few places that were looking for some staff on a moments notice, however, it might not be in Jaune's forte.
Shrugging his shoulders at that question, he murmured out, "Not really. I will take anything that comes up. It will be nice to have an income coming in."
"Have you had any past experiece with work?" Blake questioned again, wondering where the sudden interest in getting a job.
"Yeah, during the semester I worked as a Crossing guard at the local school in Argus. I enjoyed it, and the kids loved it... although, the parents were pretty... bold when it came to me." He answered, shivering lightly as he remembered those mothers that kept on hassling him when the kids were out of sight.
How were they so bold! Seriously, even one placed a pair of panties in his pocket as a 'gift' for doing such a good job!
"Interesting." Blake murmured out, before the slightest of coy smiles graced her features, "Who would've known you were a ladies man, and great with kids." She teased out.
Flushing lightly at that, Jaune turned away, looking anywhere but Blake in his embarrassment. It wasn't his fault that those women were always being so bold with him, even when he told them off!
"It's nothing like that." He muttered out, still a healthy flush of pink on his cheeks.
Tittering lightly, Blake's eyes were positively shining in mirth, "I know." She said, before leaning over closer to him, "I know of a few places that are looking for workers, although they might be a bit... unconventional." She said to him, before playfully blowing some air into his ear.
Jaune tried the best to prevent a shudder from running up and down his spine when Blake blew into his ear, even moreso when the scent of her hair and the scent of her deodorant entered his senses. He could smell the coconut flavoured shampoo that she had used this morning, along with coconut and vanilla scented deodorant that she used.
"Alright, I look forward to know your options." Jaune said, leaning back onto the backrest of the seat, closing his eyes, trying not to focus on the uncomfortable feeling starting to begin in his stomach, and instead, just focused on another memory.
One unlikely one that built up to this friendship that he and Blake shared. He knew of her secret first, and Blake was the first one to know of his secret. Apparently Blake already had an inkling of suspicion for his transcripts well before Pyrrha offered to train him on the rooftop.
FLASHBACK
Jaune tiredly made his way through the rather large library of Beacon Academy. He had fallen behind in Doctor Oobleck's classes. It had been rather annoying that everyone else seems to be taking this to a fish out of water, but he was left straggling behind once again.
It was getting rather late in the afternoon so the library had a little less occupants due to it being so close to dinner time, where teams could either have it in their own dorms - if they were confident in their cullinary skills - or just take what the cafeteria served up.
He found it a little more peaceful and he felt a little more confident when there were less people around, judging him and perhaps talking about him when he got certain books about subjects that they found easy.
As he made his way to the shelf that contained the books for the topics that he was straggling on, something had caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. Turning his attention to where his attention was dragged to, he blinked in surprise, "Blake?" He questioned softly, keeping his voice low as they were in the library.
It was true, sitting in all of her glory was Blake Belladonna, who looked like she had just jumped out of her skin. Slamming the book she was reading with an audible thump that echoed in the library, she turned her attention to who had called her name. She was looking a little paler than usual, and her eyes were filled with fear.
Seeing that Blake had turned around fully, and he wasn't just staring at her back, his attention was inevitably brought to her head, where he spotted one major difference.
Instead of her wearing her bow on her head, it was no gone, and what lay underneath them were revealed to him.
Yet, Jaune tried his best to contain his childishness at the sight.
She had a cute pair of cat ears, just as dark as her hair with a light pink inside!
"J-Jaune!?" She yelped out, hoping out of her seat and looking a little skittish. Seeing that his attention was on her head, she patted herself down, before she seemingly paled even further when she felt that her bow was not in place, rather, it was on the table near where she was sitting.
He had spotted her secret!
"W-what are you doing here?" She questioned again, her voice filled with fear.
Fear of having someone knowing her secret - well, one of them - and she had this ingrained fear that she would be ridiculed by someone who she thought of as an acquaintence.
"I was coming to read up on some topics I was struggling with." Jaune admitted, before gesturing to the shelf that had the topics that he needed help with behind him, whilst never taking his eyes off of Blake, "I'm kinda falling behind." He admitted, an embarrassed flush on his face.
There was an awkward moment of silence between the duo, with Blake still looking rather nervous, and Jaune looking like he was trying to play off everything as fine. However, it was his willpower that broke first, "So... you're a Faunus?" He questioned, although he mentally slapped himself, 'Duh, idiot. The evidence is right there!'
"Yes..." Blake admitted, looking away from Jaune, her cat ears drooping down ever so slightly, "Are... you mad at me? For hiding this, I mean." She asked, although she quickly rectified what she meant right away.
She knew that Jaune wasn't like most others, and he actually didn't mind the Faunus, in fact, he had openly admitted to the group that he believed that Faunus were actually better in humans in some regards. As they had more acute senses, or perhaps some natural quirks that came with being a Faunus that they could be considered better than humans in most cases.
Especially when it came to being Huntresses or Huntsman. He had said that having acuter senses, then it would be so much easier to find Grimm and eliminate the threat of them much quicker.
It was something that had placed the rather blonde knight higher in her book.
Blinking a few times, Jaune had to wait a moment to process what he had just heard. Blake of all people talking so softly - well, softer than normal - and she seemed so... disheartened. Seeing as how she was getting a little uncomfortable, he quickly answered, "No. Of course not."
"Really?" She sounded almost surprised at his answer, happy even.
"Yeah. Everyone has secrets that they want to keep for as long as they can." He admitted, knowing that feeling all too well with what he was hiding.
Nodding her head in understanding, Blake seemed to calm down enough now that she knew that Jaune wasn't upset or mad at her for hiding something like this to begin with, flashing the smallest of smiles, she asked, "Want some help studying?"
FLASHBACK END
Ever since that encounter in the library, it was noticeable that Blake and Jaune had gotten just a little closer, and for the fact that they had seemed to become study partners when it came to assignments and sometimes even with the schoolwork when it came to Professor Oobleck's class.
Blake had even started to cheer Jaune on during combat classes. Sure, it wasn't much of a cheer, but it was definitely more than what she normally gives during the class.
It had lead many onlookers to believe that something was happening between them, or it was just Jaune's charisma that allowed people to open up to others.
Shaking his head from those thoughts, he gazed out the window of the aircraft. Seeing a small speck of a building in the far distance meant that they still had a while before they landed in Vale.
With the new suggestions that Blake had gave him for potential job opportunities, he decided that he would visit as many establishments or stores as he could, even the ones that Blake had suggested to him, some of which seemed to be more... bold than the others.
Why she suggested that she take a look into the job opening at the adult-shop, he would never know.
All that he knew was that he was glad that he had multiple copies of his resume, so that he could hand them without worrying about running out of them. He just hoped that maybe one or two of the places he visited showed a small amount of interest in him.
Now traversing through the streets of Vale, Jaune had been on the lookout for some establishments and stores that had posters advertising that they were looking to hire someone.
He had already been to a few of them, and he had managed to sucsessfully hand in a few of his resumes without being outright denied, although, with one of the stores, it was highly unlikely that he would even be considered, and that was just going by the less than stellar first impression with the manager at the local pet store.
How was he supposed to know that small man who didn't even look like he was in his teens was the owner and manager of the store!? He wasn't even wearing a uniform for crying out loud!
However, that didn't mean that he had been entirely unsucsessful thus far.
FLASHBACK
Swallowing some saliva that had caught up in his mouth, Jaune gazed at the building in which tall and proud, despite the nature of the store, from the outside of things, it looked to be tidy and even neat.
The store was surprisingly two stories in height, and it had a finish of a sleek black color that seemed to absorb the suns rays of light, but it also was accompanied by a deep red lettering and even patterns to the outside.
There was a large window that had a small display stand behind it in case anyone happened to do a bit of window shopping. From what he could see from where he was, all he really saw were some... questionable lingerie, along with a full body latex suit that clung to the mannequin with ease. In bright, neon colored lights, the stores name was displayed for all to see, 'Vale's Kinkfest', sure it wasn't real creative, but it couldn't be easy to make a store name for something like this.
Taking a deep breath, Jaune crossed at the small intersection and made his way closer to the store, he could spot a small electronic advertisement that was placed near the store.
It was a very bright background with deep red letters that were very contrasting to each other, but also very eye-catching, and it simply read, 'Help Wanted! 18+ ONLY'
He didn't know whether to feel happy or upset that he had recently turned eighteen.
"Well... I guess this place is still looking." He muttered to himself, before clutching at his resume that he was carrying before making his way towards the entrance of the store.
Yet once again, there was a small neon red sign that had the 'Not' part of the 'Not Open' part blacked out, whilst the open was glowing, meaning that the store was open. Well, it should, considering that it is not even noon yet.
Pushing the door open as gently as he could so he didn't damage anything and seemed like a respectful citizen, he had entered the store, closing the door behind him, and a small bell rung in the store, allowing anyone inside that someone had entered the store.
The first thing that Jaune had noticed was the fact that it actually didn't smell terrible inside the store. The wafting fragrence was soft, but it was also easy on the nose so it wouldn't overpower ones sense of smell.
The next part that he noticed was the fact that there were plenty of toys - both male and female ones - along with plenty of accessories neatly stacked or placed on shelves, with some mannequins even displaying them on stands.
Some of the items that really stood out to Jaune were the various sizes of dildos - from what the tags read, the smallest size seemed to be five inches, whilst the biggest one seemed to be modeled after a horse's phallus, and boy was that thing large and girthy. He didn't even know why some people would even look at that, nor even think about putting that in their body.
On the far right side, there seemed to be multiple different whips of all different lengths and styles, with a few of them even splitting into nine-ends and seemed to be more elastic than the others. Then of course, there were the many, many pairs of handcuffs and dominatrix outfits.
Gulping lightly, Jaune tried his best to tear his gaze away from the multitude of toys and accessories that were being displayed - which was challenging, considering they were everywhere.
"Hello?" He called out, hoping to get a member of the staff or perhaps the manager of the place out.
"Coming!" A rather alluring woman's voice called out, one that sent chills down Jaune's spine as he heard it.
Surely enough, a few moments later, a woman had appeared from behind one of the closed doors - which Jaune presumed to be the staff room or break room - and she was something else.
She wasn't all that tall, standing only 5'5, but her looks made her look like a model. She seemed to have the perfect tan, as well as long, luscious brown hair and soft, doe brown eyes to go along with it. A cute button nose along with a soft shade of pink lipstick on her lips. Yet, the most prominent thing about her was the fact that she had a pair droopy dog ears atop of her head.
She was also wearing the uniform of the place, however, it didn't have a nametag for one to know her name, and she also had this sitrusy scent to her.
"Hello, how may I help you?" She questioned, taking in his appearance for a brief moment. He really didn't seem like he should be in this store, but she wasn't one to judge about what he gets up to.
"Oh, uh, hello... I'm uh... looking for a job?" Jaune stuttered out, questioning if that sign was still relevant or perhaps it was out of date and they weren't looking for any help.
The woman's doe brown eyes widened a bit, before a small smile graced her face, "Do you have your resume on you right now?" She asked, almost a little giddy with the prospect of having a potential worker.
Huh, it seems as though this place hasn't recieved much attention with resumes. Perhaps it was the idea of working in an 'Adult Shop' that was a real turn off for most people.
"I do." Jaune spoke out, a little more confident this time, "It may not be much, but I hope that you do consider me." He said, handing over one of his resume copies to the woman.
Taking the resume, the woman took a quick glance of it, humming all the while, before bringing her attention back up to Jaune, "Alright, Jaune. I will let you know of my decision in a few days." She said, placing the resume on the counter for now.
"Oh, thank you!" Jaune stated, a little surprised with how easy that part seemed to be, "Have a good day." He politely said, giving a small wave as he turned around to leave the store.
"You too!"
FLASHBACK END
Shaking his head from that memory of the adult shop and how excited the person seemed to be once he handed his resume in, he looked around, looking for the next place that was looking to hire someone.
It was starting to get a little later in the afternoon now, and Jaune had been around the city now, even making some turns with some lesser used streets in order to maximise the amount of stores that he found with hiring now signs or advertisments.
Sadly, after the adult shop store that he visited, there were only a two more stores that were looking for work. So, he had paid them a visit and had handed in his resume, and had politely left after wishing them a good day. He just hoped that some of the stores had considered him, and that he would get a call - or possibly two - for him and asking him for another meeting.
He really didn't care where he got, as he knew that this was only a part-time or even casual thing that would help him make some Lien in order to provide for Saphron and Terra in the future, and also allow him to purchase some things that he wanted, or perhaps, treating his friends occassionaly.
"Jaune."
Turning his head to the left where he heard the voice, he had found Blake once again, "Oh, hello, Blake." He greeted out with a small wave, "How was your day in the city?" He asked, trying to continue the conversation as they continued their way towards the aircraft area once again that would take them back to Beacon.
"It was fine. Managed to pick out a few novels for me to read, and had a nice time catching up with Tukson." She answered, giving a quick side glance to him before focusing on the book in hand once more, "How was your run?" She questioned in return.
"It was alright. I managed to hand my resume off to seven different places." Jaune admitted, a bit of pride in his words for how many places he gave his resume in to, and in a short amount of time too, "Hopefully at least one of them will contact me in the future."
"Don't worry. I'm sure they will." Blake reassured him.
After that the duo fell into a comfortable silence as they continued their journey.
It was odd, Jaune found most silences that built up between people pretty awkward. However, with Blake it was a comfortable silence. Maybe it was because he knew that Blake only really spoke when she wanted to, and she didn't really care whether someone would be talking or if she would be talking.
It was just one of those things where they were both good listeners when it came to others talking, yet they weren't real social butterfly's when it came to starting conversations.
"So... want to get some late lunch before we head back to Beacon?" He asked, breaking the silence after he checked his scroll and saw that the time was nearly two in the afternoon, "I'll pay, of course." He added on.
Humming momentarily, it took Blake a few moments of contemplation before she answered, "Sure, I guess it couldn't hurt." However, she flashed him a small grin and a sidelong glance, "You don't have to pay for me, I can pay for my own meal. Thanks for the offer though."
Shrugging his shoulders, Jaune tried something else, "How about we go fifty-fifty?"
Nodding her head that, she answered, "That would be fine. It's a win-win either way." She admitted.
With that, the duo had started heading towards one of the many lunch stands that were located within Vale to enjoy a nice, late lunch before they got back into the school enviroment.
END CHAPTER
Alright guys, I hope you liked this chapter, even though it was pretty short. I have kinda have hit a roadblock when it comes to RWBY fics as I seemed to have burnt myself out of the fandom for right now, but I will continue to try and create and write chapters for it.
I also do hope that you enjoyed some of Jaune's and Blake's interactions with each other, and how their friendship came to be.
