Demon Thinking
Dream
When the team arrived at Anko's house, she immediately went to Hinata's room and gently placed her in her bed, for a moment she watched Hinata before leaving to deal with the rest of her cell. Naruto and Tei were standing in the living room; the boy was barely able to stay on his feet so Anko ordered him to bed while Tei herself seemed tired but looked around the room with interest. The dark haired woman was struck with a feeling of foreboding when she looked at Tei yet she didn't understand why and quickly shook it off.
Stepping closer to the girl she cleared her throat, forcing Tei's attention to be on her. The younger girl waited for her to speak which Anko was extremely grateful for. She wanted this over quickly, her ankle was hurting and she wanted nothing more than to sleep like her two roommates.
"So, you all were able to win against me, of that I am proud but why put so much effort into protecting Hinata? Or better yet would you have acted the same for Naruto?" Anko asked, coolly observing the girl in front of her.
Tei lowered her head, making her reddish-brown hair fall into her eyes and for a moment she was silent. "That girl…I feel like there's something about her that I can't explain. I want to protect her, want to be with her. I'll fight anyone that brings her harm; I want to keep her safe."
Anko listened quietly; she could see that what Tei was saying was the truth although she didn't fully understand. She knew that however strongly Tei felt about Hinata the fact remains that they have just met unless both girls have had a prior history together. Shaking her head, Anko decided that she will let it go for now but she still had to focus on Tei.
"I can appreciate your dedication but you must also look out for Naruto as well, you all must watch each other's backs. No one is more precious than the other, understand?"
Tei's head remained bowed but she nodded nonetheless and Anko smiled before a thought came into her head. She would have to deal with the repercussions later but for now she purposefully didn't think of that. Still she wasn't going to just leave the girl.
"Hey you hurt and I wouldn't feel right sending you home wounded so…if you want you can stay the night here or something. I have plenty of room."
When she was met with Tei looking up and giving her a blank stare the woman rubbed the back of her neck and gave an awkward laugh before muttering, "Or not."
Tei tipped her head to the side and smiled before nodding happily. Anko gave a small sigh and despite her aching ankle she led Tei through her house to yet another room where she told her to make herself comfortable.
"Great, now I have all three of them in my house, I'm gonna need a drink but first…sleep…sleep is good." Anko muttered walking/hobbling to her own room and promptly falling asleep.

Hinata remembered fighting to prove herself to Anko and Tei crouching over her and protecting her with her body and Anko proclaiming that they all passed, and then after that everything went black. The girl was lying on her back, she groaned as she pulled herself into a sitting position and looked around, taking of her surroundings. She was in a lush forest with the sun's light could only dapple through the tree leaves, creating a calm and serene sense all around.
Hinata sighed as the peace reigned all around her while she felt her eyelids droop. There didn't seem to be any danger, she could rest here for a while and regain her strength. Yet just as Hinata was about to close her eyes for good a movement caused her to wake up and put up her guard.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, are you okay?" a feminine voice asked, though it sounded as if it was coming from everywhere, Hinata couldn't pin down the owner's exact location.
"Where are you, show yourself!" Hinata ordered, turning her head every which way until she caught a glimpse of movement to her far left.
The foliage wavered slightly as a figure stepped through them though they stayed in the shadow of the forest only to reveal to Hinata's shock, Kuu. The girl stared at the wolf for a minute before sighing warily and motioning for the beast to come closer. However Kuu stayed where she was though Hinata wasn't that surprised why would Kuu listen to her? Yet when the girl looked at the canine again she noticed that something was a little off, okay a lot off.
It took the girl a minute to figure it out but it quickly came to her. "You're not Kuu, who are you?"
As the question left her mouth the wolf before her stirred, although her expression remained unchanged a thought was running through her head.
'Looks like Kuu was right, humans really are stupid. But if I want to make her understand I have to be patient.'
Taking a deep breath, the wolf waved her tail in greeting before stepping fully into the light. After she did so it was clear why Hinata thought she was staring at Kuu. The she- wolf's pelt was silver though in the dark it could be gray just like Kuu's and although she didn't have a red blaze of fur from her head down her back she had the other's eyes, a soft purple. However while Kuu's eyes were often filled with rage and hate this one's reflected amusement and kindness.
Hinata also noticed that this wolf's forepaws were black as were her ears but the thing that struck her the most was a necklace that she wore proudly. It was a simple woven rope necklace with a small gem pendent hanging in the in the center of it.
The wolf bowed her head while Hinata did the same and after she straightened she found that she couldn't tear away from the she-wolf's beautiful eyes.
Smiling softly the female wolf, motioned with her paw, muttering, "You know it's not polite to stare."
At this statement, Hinata averted her eyes while the she-wolf continued to smile at the girl's expense. Hinata could practically feel it and growled softly, causing the wolf to stop smiling and tip her head to the side.
"Sorry, didn't mean to make fun of you. Don't be mad."
"Yeah," Hinata grunted, slightly annoyed.
"Yes well, let's get stared shall we? I want to ask you a few things, please try not to say stupid things. I don't really care much for stupid people, you understand right? Now first question, how are things going with Kuu? Is she okay, she's not being too hard on you is she?"
Hinata looked at the wolf strangely and wondered how she knew of Kuu, the urgency in which she asked these questions was confusing but she decided to leave then for a while to answer the questions.
"Kuu is okay for all I knew, she comes and goes when she pleases but she hangs around me a lot. She can be very harsh to me, downright abusive but there are times when I see her stop and just stare off into space, it's kind of weird but eventually she will snap back like nothing's happened. There's not much to tell, she can evil and then although fewer times she can be almost nice, though she has been spacing out a lot lately."
The she-wolf blinked at this before shaking her head, for a moment she looked as if she was about to stare off into space but she quickly caught herself and went on with her next question.
"Has she ever mentioned anything about a forbidden forest or a human roaming through her land?"
The question made Hinata freeze; this wolf seemed to know too much about Kuu for it to be just a coincidence, there was something she was trying to get out of her. Snorting in annoyance Hinata got up and walked over to the wolf who didn't move nor did she fazed by this human standing over her.
"Why are you asking these questions, what are you to Kuu?"
The silver/black wolf gave her a withering look before it changed to sudden wariness, she get up and paced in front of Hinata for a few minutes before stopping to face her again. Her purple eyes held such tiredness in them that Hinata almost felt bad for her.
"I'll let you figure out for yourself who I am but as for why I'm asking these questions, it's just simply to know, for closure I guess you can say."
Hinata stayed silent for a bit, letting that digest before steeping back and murmuring an apology. The wolf nodded in understanding and between the two the sounds of the forest went on, calming them.
"When I was born, my mother died giving birth to me. My father was enraged; he loved my mother and hated me for taking her away. So that night when my mother was buried, my father Hiashi Hyuuga, made a plan to someday steal me away. He knew of a forest where demons resided that a human should never go and he thought that there would be the best place to kill me. There was a legend about this forest it was called the Forest of Wolves and the legend says that if one were to sacrifice a life one wish could be granted."
"And let me guess, he wanted to kill you to bring his dead mate back." the wolf growled, baring her fangs.
Hinata nodded briefly then continued. "After a few years, I think I was five, he drugged me and traveled into the middle of the forest where an altar stood. He placed me on top and managed to give me a nasty stab wound but before he could finish a giant red and gray female wolf showed up. My father panicked and threw me at the wolf's paws and ran. The wolf looked from my drugged body to my father's back and decided to take me. When I woke up I knew I was dying and wanting to live I gave my soul to the wolf and she's been with me ever since."
"So it's true, you did give you soul to her, she hasn't moved on yet. It just keeps worse the longer this goes on." the she-wolf muttered, looking at her paws and growling softly.
Hinata watched the wolf confused, she couldn't hear what the wolf was staying but her body language was tense and unsettled. She didn't like that but there was nothing she could do, if this wolf wanted to open up to her that was her decision but the girl wouldn't force it. Shaking her head the girl made herself more comfortable while the she-wolf continued to ignore her.
The blue/black haired girl felt he eyes beginning to droop when the silence between them carried on, the wolf had gone completely quiet and almost seem as if she had forgotten Hinata all together. This didn't bother Hinata too much who was on the verge on falling asleep when the wolf spoke up again.
"Does…Kuu ever look at you as if she was trying to see someone else? Does she ever yell at you only to speak softly and look generally loving?"
The wolf's voice was so low that Hinata almost imagined her speaking; she had to shake off her tiredness and rolled the question over in her mind. Why would this she-wolf want to know that? What was Kuu to her?
Looking at the wolf again, Hinata saw the purple eyes staring back at her with a wary sort of hope, those eyes that seemed so much like Kuu's it was uncanny. Wait, so much like…
"You're…Judas."
At this the female wolf―no Judas smiled and bowed her head. She seemed to stand a little taller now that Hinata called out her name.
"That's right; I'm Judas, the daughter of Kuu. Though that is not her true name, it was Suzuran, though she cast it away when I was killed."
When Judas talked of her murder in such a nonchalant fashion, Hinata felt anger well up inside her, though she did not know why. She shook her head to clear and saw that Judas was giving her a particular look. The gray/black she-wolf snorted before walking up and closing the distance between them. Glaring lightly at Hinata, the canine then suddenly turned her head away and sighed.
She took a few steps back and sat down all the while taking deep breaths before once again smiling up at the girl.
"You have to forgive me, but when one has been dead for years it tends not to bother them the longer it goes on. I keep forgetting that for the living, death is a touchy subject and shouldn't be taken lightly."
Hinata nodded before allowing herself and calm down, she hadn't even notice that she had out her guard up and regarded the wolf with a small smile.
"Now if you may, could you please answer my question?"
Hinata gave the wolf a blank stare before suddenly the question she asked and rubbed her neck sheepishly, "Kuu―I mean Suzuran…uh―"
"It's okay to call her Kuu but if you prefer Suzuran it doesn't bother me," Judas said indifferently with a shrug of her shoulders.
"Suzuran then," at this Judas chuckled. "She would always be angry and then for some reason she would suddenly stop to look at me weirdly then go on being somewhat nice. She even called me Judas a few times."
When Hinata said that she watched Judas' expression carefully, she was expecting the she-wolf to become extremely upset or even lash out at her. However Judas didn't do even negative, she just stayed quiet for a moment before chuckling and shaking her head. Hinata tipped her head to one side which Judas took notice of and decided to explain.
"I'm sorry, I'm not mad. In fact I'm a little happy, you see I thought that my mother hasn't moved on since I was killed, and in some ways she hasn't. She sees me in you and that's kind of bad in which I want her to get over my death but I'm happy at the same time because in her own violent way she sees you as another daughter, another chance to love again."
"That's all well and good but how were you…?"
"I don't really want to talk about it right now, but I will tell someday. I will say this, after I was killed I watched my mother torture herself, for almost a year she called out for me, she wouldn't eat and barely slept. She would hurt herself, saying that she was unfit to be a mother after what happen; I think she was planning on killing herself. Though that would be extremely hard as she was a demon, I watched her as a ghost following behind and calling to her but she never heard me. Her grief was too much and she wouldn't move on, not while she holds me so close to her."
"I watched as she took care of you when your father threw you at her, of course she didn't really register anything that was happening. I don't think that she really knew what she was doing when she took your soul. However I was happy, because even though it took her a while to get used to you, she was starting to move on somewhat. She has dwelling on the past for too long and I only wish that she could hear me, to let her know that I'm alright. But she's too blind to her own depression; I don't think she'll ever hear me."
Hinata stared the she-wolf in front of her and noticed for the first time that she looked really young, her body was small; she didn't look any bigger than a yearling maybe a few months younger. The implications made Hinata cringe and then a thought ran through the girl's head. Suzuran only acted the way she did out of grief and possibly anger, but there were times where she would see Hinata as her dead daughter and remember the past. For a minute Hinata wanted to cry for the older wolf, Suzuran obviously didn't mean to treat her badly it's just that she was too immersed in her guilt and anger to really take in anything else.
As the thoughts ran through the girl's head she looked at the young wolf once again and saw that Judas was hanging her head and whining softly. It was then that Hinata realized that Judas was suffering as much as Suzuran. Clenching her fists she kneeled to Judas's level and picked up her paw. The wolf's eyes, so much like her mother shone in sadness as well as confusion.
"I'll help you. I'll do whatever it takes to help you make my mother hear you. On my life and soul, I promise you."
A/N: Well that was murder to write nut fun all the same. I finally got Judas into the story, yay. I'm going to feature her more in the story but I haven't worked out all of her personality, any opinions guys?
