Demons Thoughts/Speech

Human thoughts

Dreams

Hinata stirred before slowly waking up in her room, the pain of her wounds seem very far away and the girl was content to simply lay there. Yet as she did so, her mind drifted back to her dream and the promise she made to Judas. She wanted to help the dead wolf with everything she was but she didn't have a clue as to where to start or even how to convince Suzuran of what she was saying. With a small sigh Hinata thought that the best option was to get up and start the day. Wincing from her aches and pains, the blue-black haired girl slowly made her way to the kitchen where Tei was sitting with her back to her staring out the window.

She didn't seem to notice Hinata so said girl was free to look the girl over and wonder about her new teammate. The other girl held herself high even though Hinata knew she must be in pain from their test fight with Anko, Hinata lowered her head with a bit of admiration, Tei was able to shoulder her pain stoically and so could she. Clearing her throat, Hinata brought Tei's attention to her and the reddish brown haired girl smiled lightly at her and beckoned her over.

"Good morning, how did you sleep?"

Hinata gently massaged her sore ribs where Anko's snakes seemed to squeezed the tightest and grimaced. "Fine enough, though I'll feel better when the pain goes away completely."

Tei nodded at her words and briefly returned her gaze to the window where the wind was starting to play shadows on the ground below. Both girls were quiet for a moment before Tei turned to Hinata and spoke.

"If you could turn back time to any event in your life would you take it?"

The question surprised Hinata and for a minute she didn't know how to answer but then she noticed Tei waving her off with a tight smile. "Oh, don't listen to me. I'm just rambling."

Hinata decided that it was best to just not comment for now, better to focus on something else. Her subject changer came when Suzuran decided to grace them with her presence. The two stared at each other for a moment before Suzuran turned away, leaving Hinata with her thoughts, yet the she-wolf almost instantly broke into her musings with a single question.

"You talk in your sleep, you said something about making a promise. Who were you making a promise to?"

The pale eyed girl stiffened, for a moment she considered denying anything but that would only lead Suzuran to ask more questions. She decided go with the truth.

"I was making a promise to a friend."

"A friend? How interesting, can you tell me this friends' name?"

"I woke up before she could tell me." Hinata lied, hating the way Suzuran stared at her before snorting.

'Oh God, she knows. What the hell am I gonna do?!'

Closing her eyes, Hinata squared her shoulders waiting for whatever the gray/red wolf was going to do to her but when nothing happened, the girl opened her eyes. Suzuran was starting off into space, she briefly wondered if Judas was trying to make herself known somehow. Suzuran didn't seem to to reacting to anything and the sight saddened Hinata. She had to help her.

Suzuran soon snapped herself out of her trance when Tei moved to pet her between the ears, once again Hinata was mystified that the she-wolf allowed this contact when she would have definitely bitten her hand if she had tried that. Shuttering from it all, Hinata turns her attention away from the pair when Anko arrives in a still half asleep state. The blue/black haired girl noticed with a wry smile that she was still limping as she goes over to the kitchen table yet knew better than to comment on it.

"Where's Naruto?" Tei asked, still fussing over Suzuran, who was now lying down with her eyes closed.

Anko laid her head on her arms and yawned. "Still sleeping, I think. Let's give him a couple of minutes before we have to set off."

Naruto came into the kitchen at least an half an hour later, to which the three Genin had to wake up their teacher who threatened them with death if they didn't leave her alone. Remembering her harsh training session the other day, the trio sat away from her, watching as she slowly got Anko slowly got herself together. Once all of us are dressed, we set out to start on some small, easy to handle missions. Weeding gardens, babysitting, real boring work. Once they had to walk a couple of dogs and the one that Tei was leading was a huge brute of a mastiff but it seemed strangely scared of her and followed before her with his tail between his legs.

On their latest mission the trio had to catch that damn demon cat which managed that scratch Hinata and Naruto but left Tei alone, Anko was no help, laughing at her students yet keeping a safe distance from the crazy cat. Once they delivered the cat to their rightful owner, Anko face the Hokage with a serious frown and addressed him sharply.

"My lord, I think it's time for these three to get out and experience the real world. These baby missions are not going to cut it. They need something that will get their blood up. Is there anything you have that can provide that?"

The aging leader looked at the woman sharply and smirked. "Sorry Anko, the only thing I can assign to these three and yourself is a simple c-rank mission. An escort mission to the Land of Waves, you have to take that or go back to chasing cats around."

Anko looked back on her team to see them staring at her intently, she let out a snort but knew at the time nothing could be better and accepted it. With that Sarutobi talks in their client, an old drunk bridge builder named Tazuna who eyes them callously, saying that he has no trust in that they will guard him effectively. Tei herself takes a challenge to this and steps up to the man, gives him a wicked grim and lightly taps the wall next to her which starts to crack. As she walks back to Naruto and Hinata staring at her, though the girl just shrugs. Tazuna gains a stupid smile and turns his head.

"Your mission begins at dawn." Sarutobi muttered, inwardly smiling.

XxXx

At dawn the group shift impatiently at dawn with Tei even dozing while sitting cross-legged and Hinata leaning against her back. Naruto's still standing but watching the dawn clouds roll by and Anko is pacing. Finally their client shows up and off they go.

The trio stare amazed at the vastness of the forest before them, Anko watching them with a smile. She remembers the first time she was out the village on a mission, she lets them gape for a while before calling their attention and telling them to kept close to Tazuna. As they walk through the hat forest, Hinata notices for the first time that Suzuran isn't here, she looks back to actually see her plodding along a good deal back and runs over to her to which the wolf ignores her for a moment but after a while speaks.

"You need to be careful on this journey, little warrior. Things are about to happen that you might not be prepared for."

"With all of your training, I should be fine."

Suzuran bared her fangs but did nothing, she walked a little ahead of the girl before tossing her head over her shoulder. "Just be cautious, girl. You never what could lurk in this forest."

A/N: So yeah, kinda short but I wanted to get this out there. Next chapter everyone who watched Naruto should know what happens next.
