"Well now, if it isn't Anko of the Leaf. I always wanted to fight the Snake Jonin but I guess you won't be as much fun with those brats around."

This large swordsman was as before stated a giant of a human male, clad in simple light gray pants, he had the lower portion of his face covered in bandages while his headband was twisted to the side of his head and showed the symbol of the Village hidden in the Mist. And even though they were just Genin, he showed no concern about being outnumbered. Then with a small grunt he jumped off the hilt of the massive sword and landed just a few feet shy of Anko, who still haven't lost her glare.

"Momochi Zabuza, the Demon of the Mist. Well I can't say I wanted to fight you but I guess I have no choice, yeah?"

The man smile, then rising his blade brought to crashing down on Anko with tremendous force, cracking the very earth beneath her. When the dust settled Mitarashi Anko was not there, Zabuza showed no confusion over this and simply smirked under his mask and waited. Why spend energy and chakra looking for someone when they will come to you? True to his words, Anko lashed out with a barrage of kunai at the man who dodged them easily though one did manage to left a decent gash in his leg. With a sharp intake of breath, Zabuza looked around trying to see where the kunai came from when another hailstorm of weapons, this time shuriken, flew at him.

This salvo of iron stars he was able to get away from but just barely, the fresh wound in his leg slowed him up more than he thought. The large man let out a humorless laugh as he turned his sights on the three puny Genin guarding the bridge builder and quickly went through a slew of hand signs. A thick mist soon enveloped everyone and visibility became almost zero. The trio tightened their grips on their weapons and tried with little success to see through the mist. It wasn't until too late that the four of them felt a evil presence, before Zabuza revealed himself with his sword held at the ready.

Just as he was about to chop the children and old man into doll rags, a frightening growling sounded before them followed by the agonized cry of Zabuza. He blundered past the Genin, swiping wildly at the air with his sword and screaming in pain. Hinata activated her Byakugan and even then she had to squint her eyes, but then after a few seconds she was able to make out what was going on.

Suzuran was latched onto the man's face, her fangs buried deep in the bridge of the man's nose while she clawed madly at his neck and shoulders. When Zabuza finally managed to shake Suzuran off, she came away showing the Mist ninja's face and shoulders as a bloodied mess. His right eye was forced closed and when he tired to lift his blade, his shoulders shook with the effort. Suzuran smirked at the bleeding enemy, snarling and fluffing out her fur. Zabuza focused on her and throwing all rationale to the wind, charged at the beast, yelling hoarsely. Suzuran waited until he was almost on top of her before jumping high into the air, form there she focused all of her weight onto Zabuza's head, plowing him into the dirt.

When Zabuza freed himself from the earth, from the tress yet another rain of steel came down on him, leaving him pinned to the ground once more. The giant of a man grimaced in pain but this was soon replaced by a smile as Anko finally showed herself, standing in front of her students, guarding them from Mist ninja. He didn't even try to free himself as she stepped just a touch bit closer.

'Come on, closer...Just a little more...' the thought kept repeating itself in the Mist ninja;s head, until finally Anko took that one step needed to help him end her.

Yet as he began to lift his blade, Suzuran rushed forward, pushing Anko out of the way and taking the hit for herself. As the the two rolled away from the huge blade, Suzuran stared at the large puddle of blood already forming beneath her then to her severed paw lying a few feet away. There was no screaming, no cursing, and no vow for vengeance. Suzuran's fur simply began to bristle before she easily rushed towards the down Zabuza, burying her fangs into his neck. The force of the blow actually managed to release the man from his pinned state, making Zabuza's next action easier.

This time, the Mist ninja was able to get the she-wolf to release him a lot more quickly than before, he even managed to slice into her chest before being tossed away. Suzuran fell hard and remained motionless on the ground, Hinata was the first to reach her but when she tried to help the she-wolf up, Suzuran snapped at her hand.

"I don't need your help, little warrior. No one is allowed to touch that man. He took my paw and dared to wound me, he's mine. No one is to get in my way! Get it!?"

Her purple gaze swept over all of the other ninja, daring them to speak up and protest. With a snort, she pushed herself onto her remaining feet and prepared to tackle Zabuza again when Anko, Naruto, and Tei rushed the huge man. As bloody as he was, Zabuza looked around to the three facing him and smirked, the brats he could take out easily. It was Mitarashi Anko he had to worry about. And because he was focused on Anko, he didn't realize until too late that both Tei and Naruto surged forward to cut him open their kunai. Naruto was able to quickly jump to the side when Zabuza swept out with his hand but Tei was a second too slow.

Zabuza's hand almost completely covered the girl's face and he held high in the air with little effort, then with a sadistic smirk the Mist began to apply pressure. Tei screamed out as she felt her skull being slowly crushed and flailed wildly and just as Anko and Naruto were about to try to rescue her another scream caused them to look back. Hinata was crying aloud holding her head in both hands and was writhing on the ground,and neither Anko nor Naruro knew what was happening. Apart from the gash on her arm, Hinata wasn't hurt anyway else so why...?

"I wonder how long it will take for me to crush this girl's skull. You better hurry, Anko or you'll have a premature death to mourn." as Zabuza said this he put even more pressure on Tei's skull until finally she stopped screaming and went limp, a minute later, Hinata fell silent and now her body was draped over the ground.

Whipping her head back and forth at the sight of two of her Genin caused Anko to start to panic, she yelled at them to move, to open their eyes, do something and when neither responded to her frantic orders, she snapped. With a horrible yell, the smaller ninja charge straight for Zabuza, plowing into him with such speed and force that he dropped Tei and was knocked heavily to the ground. With her landing on top of Zabuza, Anko wasted no time in pummeling the bigger man, the angry Jonin was punching him so hard that very quickly her fists were coming away bloody with each blow.

After having his face smashed in for some time, Zabuza managed to catch one of Anko's fists and though it took some effort flung her away before following and cleaving through her with his blade. Anko however refused to go down and after putting some distance between them, summoned a two giant snakes to flank her as she pulled out another kunai before rushing at Zabuza. When she and the snakes stabbed at him, the young woman cursed as the man turned to liquid, revealing itself to be a water clone.

As she called the snakes around her, Anko felt Zabuza's presence and turned swiftly only to see him advancing on Naruto and Tazuna. With a growl she put as much speed as she could in her legs and raced towards her only conscious student yet Zabuza was too close, she could see that he was going to kill them both and she would be too late. However a streak of reddish brown caught her attention and when she turned her head Tei had woken up and moved to stand in front of Naruto and blocking the huge blade with a single kunai. However Tei could not hold out for long and Zabuza was able to push her back towards the still unconscious Hinata.

Suzuran moved out of the way as the girl's body almost collided with hers before she turned and snarled at Zabuza who was steadily coming closer. Suzuran moved to drape her body over Hinata and even Tei, the only way this bastard was going to kill them would be to go through her cold dead body. As Zabuza raised his sword, Suzuran got ready to leap and bite but not before Anko sent her two snakes to strangle the man, it was this moment that Suzuran thought to end this.

But Zabuza wouldn't be deterred, rushing forward he kicked the she-wolf to the side into a tree, where Hinata and Tei was left undefended. Suzuran stared at Hinata's unconscious form and felt her throat constrict. As she get up, time seemed to slow down.

"Get away from her! I won't...I won't lose another daughter!"

Faster than Zabuza could move, Suzuran ran, placing her body in front of the girls once again yet shielding Hinata the most. The heavy blade came down and Suzuran had only a second before her life was ripped from her body.

"...Hinata...I'm sorry."

A/N: Well, that was a doozy! Hope you don't mind the cliffhanger. Sorry I made Zabuza seem so...off and almost no jutsu going on but there's a reason for that...I just have to think of one. Anyway, enjoy!
