Demons Thoughts/Speech

Human thoughts

Dreams

Anko stirred slowly in her sleep, thinking of Kuu and her being killed by Zabuza. With a small grunt, the purple haired Jonin woke up with the quiet sounds of night greeting her. Looking around, she saw Tazuna propped against a tree, snoring lightly before moving on to see her students sleeping peacefully. Well Naruto was sleeping easy, Tei and Hinata on the other hand were constantly twitching as well as breathing heavily as they slept. Anko's mind went back to where Zabuza stood trying to cave in Tei's skull and then having Hinata react in the same flailing, agonizing way that Tei had before both passed out.

Narrowing her eyes, Anko thought of anyone she knew that had this same experience when out on a mission. No, that was just stupid to even think of that. There had never been any reports of two unrelated ninja sharing or experiencing that same pain to such an extant in the village. Shaking her head, the young Jonin heaved out a long sigh before quietly getting up and walking the short distance to where Tei and Hinata lay side by side.

Looking them both over, Anko saw Hinata's arm was still bleeding and with a snort changed the bandages. Through all of this Hinata didn't stir other than her soft muttering and occasional twitches, even as Anko purposefully tightened the bandage around the girl's arm she did not move though to her amazement Tei's fingers did twitch before becoming still once more.

Taking a deep breath, Anko pulled out a kunai and ever so lightly pricked Tei's hand, while there was very little blood the reddish brown girl's hand did tense up before relaxing. With a muttered prayer the snake Jonin then turned her eyes on Hinata's hand and much to her horror and amazement there was the wound with the same amount of blood and in the same place.

Anko felt a cold chill run down her spine. How was this possible? There was no jutsu in the world that she knew that could do this. What the hell was wrong with her students? Then just as she thought this, her mind went to Kuu, of course it had to be her...but then Kuu was dead now. If this indeed was a jutsu, however unlikely, it would have stopped when the she-wolf died.

'I don't understand, why is this happening to them? If it isn't Kuu doing this then who...? Besides that how can they go on being ninja with this condition? Does this means that if one of them dies does the other follow? No, I won't that happen, I'll protect them both, no matter what!'

With a resolute nod, the young Jonin went back to her sleeping spot and decided it was best to get what little sleep she could now. Tomorrow the group would have to march double time if Hinata and Tei didn't wake.

XxXx

Hinata walked through a dark forest though her steps were uneven and she kept tripping over herself. Everytime this happened she would stiffly pick herself up and continue on. She didn't know where she was going and really she didn't care. Her eyes stared clouded ahead of her and took in nothing, if something were ton happen, she wouldn't see it and frankly once again she wouldn't care.

Eventually Hinata made it out of the dimly lit forest and somehow back to the clearing where she and Judas first met. The girl looked around blankly and saw nothing of the young silver she-wolf. Still Hinata looked around and finally becoming bored and sitting on the grass beneath her.

For a long time Hinata sat motionless, barely bothering to breathe, her eyes continued to stare at nothing. Even the ache of the wound in her arm which followed her sleep didn't tempt her to move. True, there was nothing outward that the young girl was doing but inside her mind was in turmoil. One thought constantly ran through her mind, eating her up inside until she became numb to everything.

'Suzuran is dead, it's all my fault!'

Hinata closed her eyes and allowed herself to fall into the grass, she could stay here forever, she wouldn't mind it. Just as she was about to sink further into darkness, a soft prodding at her side made her eyes open and turning over slightly she saw Judas standing over her. The black and silver she-wolf stared down at her and without a word laid down next to Hinata, putting her head on the girl's stomach.

"I'm sorry."

Hinata turned her head at the wolf but remained silent before heaving a small sigh and closing her eyes again. Judas flattened her ears a little yet continued on, hoping that it would get the girl to eventually speak. However Hinata did nothing but sigh and turn her head, leaving silence to reign once again. As Judas lay next to the girl she looked up, thinking about how she reacted and wished she could take it back.

"But then again, no matter what I do I can't change anything." she muttered softly, flattening her ears and closing her eyes.

Suddenly Judas felt Hinata shift away from her as a hand gently started petting her head and she opened her eyes to see Hinata petting her. Overcome with sorrow and pain, the young wolf ghost could do nothing but whine and slowly began to wag her tail. They stayed like this for a long while, Hinata remaining silent while Judas cried and wagged her tail. It was even longer before the wolf heard Hinata speak her last words before the girl woke up.

"It's not your fault, I forgive."

A/N: I am so sorry that this chapter is so short, I got some things on my mind and wouldn't concentrate. The next one will be longer.
