Hailee was able to see Louis briefly the next morning before breakfast. It saddened her that they couldn't eat breakfast together. It wasn't fair. What was wrong with wanting to sit next to your friend from another other house? As he was leaving for the Gryffindor table, Louis jokingly blew them a kiss, which had Albus looking disgusted and Scorpius blushing as if the kiss was a declaration of love.

Hailee gulped as she saw the look that Louis' sisters gave her. Maybe it was a good thing that they couldn't sit together at a table. Albus rolled his eyes. "They're being so dramatic. Must be the French genes."

The dark-skinned girl raised an eyebrow at him. "Aren't you the one who was too scared to even talk to me when we first met?"

Albus flushed while Scorpius chuckled behind his hand. "Well I... Whatever."

When they left the Great Hall, Albus' brother caught up with him. His friends, which also included his cousins Roxanne and Fred, following him. "Yo!" He ruffled his brother's hair. "Remember what happened last year?"

Albus frowned. "What?" He shrugged his brother's arm off his shoulder.

"Quidditch, dummy. Slytherin lost. And badly at that too."

Albus rolled his eyes."Duh, of course I do. You kept talking about it the entire summer."

James grinned. "A certain someone told me that you're thinking of being on the slytherin quidditch team? Don't bother. Your team already sucks, you're going to make it worse." His friends laughed behind him. Albus was wellknown for his disastrous first flying lesson.

The said boy flushed in embarassment and anger. Louis promised to not tell James anything. So it had to be Rose.

James continued, "And don't think I'll go easy on you just because we're family. You're still a slimy snake!" James said, waggling his finger in front of the shorther boy's face. Albus looked very irrated.

Hailee and Scorpius just stood there awkwardly. They both knew that James was deliberately ignoring them. Hailee more than Scorpius probably.

"Oh hey Scorpius."

Yep, mostly her.

He then looked over at her.

Just as always Hailee observed his face. Being sheltered, she also didn't see that many guys. Well there was Scorpius, but he was gay. Messy(though Albus' was messier) black-brown hair, light brown eyes and a lenghty body, long and lean. She knew that he was on the quidditch team. She could have called James handsome had his face not being twisted into an ugly sneer.

"And what are you doing here?"

"James." Albus said in a warning tone. Scorpius took her hand.

She blinked. "Attending school."

The older boy rolled his eyes. "I don't care about that. I'm asking you why you're standing so close to my brother."

She was about to answer but Albus beat her to it. "Are you blind? Clearly we're friends."

James let out a loud laugh. Hailee felt embarassed when she spotted people stopping to look at them. "Little brother, I know that you like being the 'black sheep' and all, but befriending her. Do you know who she is?"

Albus stood his ground. "Yes and I don't care."

One of James' friends, Fred, stepped forward. "Do you even care about what happened to my uncle, Al?"

Albus' eyes softened. "He was also my uncle, Fred." he said softly.

The boy's red eyebrow twitched. "This whore's grandfather is responsible for his fucking death." He said harshly.

Shocked whispers were heard. Hailee shook from anger. How could he call her that when he didn't even know that? The boy gave her a challenging look. 'Yes I called you a whore, what are you going to do about it? Kill me?'

Albus seemed to struggle to keep his calm composure. "Fred, I understand your anger but that was a long time ago and she-"

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY." Roxanne screeched. The three second years flinched at her shrill voice. James gave him a dissapointed look and Fred looked murderous. "A long time ago? Please tell me you're kidding. Your uncle. He's your uncle. Do you even care that we never got to know him?" Her voice broke at the end, angry tears escaping and rolling down her cheeks. "An insult. It's truly an insult that this whore is walking around like she owns the place."

Albus blinked quickly. "Wait n-no. I didn't mean it like-"

"Imsorry." Fast, blurted out and almost uncomprehensible. They all looked at her. Hailee gulped. "I'm sorry." She repeated again. "I'm really really sorry. If I could bring him back from the dead, Merlin, trust me I would. In behalf of my grandfather, I-"

She was cut off by a slap. Gasps were heard. Hailee touched her burning cheek as she looked in shock at the lighter skinned girl. "Fuck you." The girl hissed hatefully before turning on her heel and walking off, her twin brother inmediately following after her.

James took a step closer. "James no-" He pushed his brother away without blinking. Taking her shirt in his fist, he looked down at her menacingly. "I was able to overlook Albus and Louis being friends with a fucking Malfoy. But a Riddle? I won't accept that. You're lucky that you're a girl. Otherwise I would have ended you here right now." He smiled, but it was fake and full of barely conceiled hate. "Unlike Roxanne, I can't get away with hitting you nor am I the type to hit a girl. Even you."

Hailee was shaking again, but this time from fear. "I can promise you though, I'm going to make sure that your life here is going to be hell. Don't think we're the only one who don't like you. Remember that my uncle was not the only victim of your grandfather." With those words he let go off her and walked away, his friends giving her evil smirks and following after him. And people said that Slytherins were the mean ones...

Scorpius worriedly took her hands in his. "Hailee? Please look at me, are you ok? Hailee?"

She kept her gaze on the floor. She knew that if she looked up, she would be met with very unfriendly looks.

Albus had his fists balled and was shaking from anger. "Fuck James. Fuck Fred. Fuck Roxanne. Fuck all of them." He glared at a couple of Ravenclaws who ,frightened , quickly made their way to their classroom. "How can they be so stupid? You weren't even born when he was there. None of us were."

Hailee looked up. "Let's just..." She spotted Louis waving at James, swinging his arm over his shoulder when the boy was close enough. She knew that they were family and since Louis wasn't spotted earlier, he certainly didn't know what happened. Yet she still felt hurt when she saw Louis being cozy with those kids yet claiming to be her friend. He had to know what their views were... "Come on boys. We have to go to class."

Albus and Scorpius gave each other a worried look. It was unspoken but they all thought the same: had it really been a good idea to come to Hogwarts?

The first lesson they started with was Potions. Hailee liked the way the classroom looked. Albus glanced behind him, giving her a worried look. He was worried because of two reasons: firstly, his family was bullying her. secondly, people visibly didn't want to sit next to her and a girl-Macy?-only sat next to her because there was no place anymore. She gave him a reassuring smile. Sure she was sad that beside Al, Scorp and Louis no one wanted to be near her, but crying about it wouldn't help, right? Not to mention with the way the classroom was set up, Scorpius couldn't have sat next to both of them at the same time. She wasn't as childish to let it bother her though. Scorpius needed friends of the same gender too.

Slughorn was still the Potions master. According to Scorpius, the man was planning on retiring soon. Today they were learning how to make a Sleeping Draught potion. Hailee was slightly amused at how angry Macy seemed to be about having to work with her.

While everyone was practising the charm and Macywas busy looking at the Potions book, she caught Scorpius staring at the Gryffindors. She followed his look and wasn't surprised that he was staring at one particular Gryffindor. Louis caught him staring and gave him a wink, Rose behind him gave Scorpius a quite unfriendly look. Hailee frowned; That Rose girl seemed a bit stuck up.

Scorpius looked away flustered and Hailee had to bite her lip to not laugh. Albus rolled his eyes at his antics.

Macy fake coughed, giving the black girl an impatient look when Hailee turned to look back at her.

Louis quickly glanced at the Riddle girl. He wasn't present when it happened but word got around fast in their year. Not to mention, Rose also talked about it. She was on James' side. Louis knew that he had a good reason to not really like the Granger-Weasley; her younger brother was much more likeable.

He was angrier at James, Fred and Roxanne though. He felt really dissapointed and disgusted at the way they treated poor Hailee. Had he known about it earlier, he wouldn't have greeted them and had a friendly chat with them before class. Instead, he would have gone and checked on Hailee inmediately. He didn't know Hailee for really long but he knew that she didn't deserve this. If only other people knew that too.

Poor Hailee. People really can't give her a break.

What do you think of Albus and Scorpius? Are they being good friends?

How about Louis?

Do you think that people are being logical for not liking Hailee?
