Haku felt a sudden chill go down his back as he stared at Tei, and while he tried to will his body to move, it wouldn't and the Tracker could only watch as Tei's body started to change right in front of him. There was an aura around her, heavy and potent enough that even Naruto could feel it and shiver at the raw hatred he felt.

Tei glared at Haku while her being continued to change, her hands forming claws and sharp deadly fangs clearly becoming visible with every second. Her hair became longer and messier before a pair of wolf ears sprouted on top of her head followed by a long silvery tail. Before long, Tei's entire body shifted one cracking bone at a time to that a bipedal lupine creature covered in beautiful silver fur.

Tei stood still just a moment before opening her muzzle and letting out a deafening roar, something that caused everyone on the bridge to cower momentarily. Anko was the most affected, her legs trembling as that roar echoed through her. The snake Jonin closed her eyes and shook her head, trying to get over this but her body would not respond.

Zabuza, after recovering himself and briefly worrying about Haku, took Anko's lapse in attention to attack, giving her a deadly slash to her right arm even though she woke up and managed to get away at the last minute, yet her arm was a bloody mess and the Jonin wasn't sure if she could use it fully.

Snorting, Anko tried to ignore the pain and kept her eyes on Zabuza, after all this, she couldn't be sure if the Mist Demon was going to continue going after her or try to cut down Naruto and Tazuna.

Haku lowered his head briefly, the roar made him tremble inside the glass, his body locking up from the horrible sound. It was the opening Tei needed. Bunching her muscles, the bipedal wolf launched herself forward, punching the ice mirror with all her might and instantly shattering it.

Haku managed to fling himself from a flying shard to another mirror, cutting into Tei's side in the process but the silver canine didn't look too hurt by the attack.

The wolf slowly turned her head towards where the boy ended up in the ice mirror and charged after him, snarling and shattering that reflective surface as well. Haku repeated the same process, this time getting Tei's arm.

The wolf simply snarled before licking her wound and turning, tracking the boy as Haku tried to flit through numerous mirrors to give multiple cuts to her as Tei got ready to act.

'No matter how many times I cut this beast, it doesn't seem to do anything!' Haku gritted his teeth in frustration and tried once more to cut into the beast but at the last second, Tei grabbed Haku's ankle as he whirled past and slammed him hard into the ground.

Haku felt something inside him crack and he was sure that he now had a few broken bones but that was the least of his problems as he saw through the mask fearsome claws barreling down towards him. At the last possible second, the masked ninja managed to will his body to move, away from the deadly creature. The false tracker ninja skidded to halt, quite close to Hinata's and the wolf saw this, breathing heavily before running straight for the boy, her jaws opened wide.

However seeing Haku so close to Hinata, the beast faltered but only for a moment. Purple eyes narrowed as she continued with her charge, getting Haku to flee from his current position and into an ice mirror. Taking a few senbon, he took aim close to Hinata, having gathered that during the battle the pair seemed to share the other's pain.

Maybe whatever connection the pair shared still worked despite the Hyuuga girl being dead. He threw three senbon at Hinata but Tei shielded the corpse with her body, snarling as the needles embedded themselves into her flesh.

Like Haku had thought, her wounds transferred to Hinata as well and the giant wolf saw this and kneeled closer to her slain companion, nuzzling her cold cheek. Haku hesitated when seeing this. Such raw emotion for this beast, it was just ready to claw his head off and now, it was in mourning.

Tei seemed to forget all about the fight as she continued mourning over Hinata's body, licking her cheek and even whining softly as she nudged the dead girl with her nose. The wolf took in Hinata's rapidly diminishing scent, trying to will her body to not forget the girl's smell. The beast even went so far as to lay down, placing her body close to Hinata's, as if to sheild her from the damp air and keep her warm.

Haku narrowed his eyes as this. This was an animal, ready to tear him apart but now, it was ignoring him. Raising a few senbon to try to inflict more damage, he faltered when he saw Tei carefully and as gently as she could, pluck the needles from her body. She then started to lick the small puncture wounds until the girl almost looked like she wasn't dead, only resting.

Scowling behind the mask, Haku reached into his bag and pulled out one of the few kunai he owned and took aim at Hinata's ribs, the blade embedding itself deep into the flesh. Tei winced when she moreso felt the blade pierce Hinata and slowly, ever slowly looked up to where Haku's reflection stared back at her, his expression hidden behind the mask.

Putting a paw to where the cut appeared corraspondnt to Hinata's wound and looking at the blood that collected on her paw, Tei leveled a hate filled glared at Haku before checking Hinata's body, finding the blade and swiftly pulling it out.

There was no words for the fury Tei had she stared at Haku, who started to tremble within the ice mirror. Then Tei crushed the kunai with enough force that it snapped in half before dropping down to all fours. She looked down briefly at Hinata before rushing forward, her fangs bared as she slammed her whole body into the mirror, completely shattering it.

Haku only had time to let out one ear piercing scream.

Zabuza looked up at the scream and the sound made the assassin freeze up. He wasn't the only one, Anko closed her eyes against the scream and turned her head away, shivering. She could only guess at the pain the tracker was enduring and knew that Tei was not going to let him die so easily.

But she couldn't focus on that, she had to deal with Zabuza. Taking a deep breath, Anko tried to feel out the arm at the Mist nin slashed and grunted when she realized that it was still pretty much useless. Shaking her head and deciding to not worry about it, the purple haired Jonin gripped her kunai tight before reaching in her coat and pulling out a scroll.

"Hey, Zabuza, I know how you like to drag these things out. But I'm a busy woman so why don't we cut to the chase? I'm going to finish this, here and now!" she taunted, unfurling the scroll and twirling it around herself in a brief flashy maaner.

"Finish this? But I thought you enjoyed this little spar we were having, Anko. But fine, if that's the way you want it, we'll finish it just like you say, here and now!" Zabuza replied back, readying his sword for the final clash.

Anko narrowed her eyes before slamming the scroll on the the ground, creating a slight impact and cracking the bridge's surface a bit. With a soft voice, she muttered "Summoning Jutsu" too soft for Zabuza to hear and within the same breath, a gentle hissing was heard before snakes of all colors and breeds erupted from the ground to try and grab at the rogue ninja.

Stifling a curse under his breath, Zabuza did his best to dodge the onset of reptiles but soon enough, one managed to grab him and the mist ninja was quickly wrapped in a tight, constricting pile of snakes.

Taking a moment to breath, Anko walked over to the immobilized man who still tried to writhe free but only succeeded in making the snakes coil tighter around him, making him grunt in pain. He glared as Anko came nearer, huffing crossly. "You allowed yourself to be cut, just so these damn things had something to track me with!"

"Yes, that's right. If I couldn't see you properly then I would get a few friends who would get you by scent. It was a all a matter of when. My friends here would have no trouble getting to you, they rely more on scent than sight to get their prey. Now then, it's over Zabuza. It's finally time to end this."

Taking her kunai in a ready grip, Anko frowned when she saw that Zabuza was merely standing his ground. What was he up to? No ninja, even the greatest ones, held absolutely no fear of death. Even the greats trembled for a solid second before steeling themselves.

Then it hit her, literally hit her as Haku's and Zabuza's bodies were slammed into hers and she was fortunate enough to have their bodies shielding her as Tei pounced on the three of them, using her claws to shred at the two mist ninja.

Zabuza was flung hard into the railing of the bridge, hard enough to dent the metal and where Anko winced slightly at the sickening crunch that was heard. The teacher managed to avoid being savaged by Tei, though she wasn't sure if it was truly because the wolf was consciously trying to miss her.

Haku's body was flung away next with Tei following to bite and slash at the boy, quickly turning his body to ribbons. Anko got to her feet just in time to see Tei crunch the tracker's neck in her jaws, staining her fur and the bridge red with blood.

Letting the body drop, Tei swiped at it, causing the torn body to tumble near the edge of the bridge. The beast stared at Anko before taking a step forward, her rage and pain not yet spent. Anko however stood her ground and didn't move, even as Tei lumbered forward, her claws raised and ready.

"You won't hurt me. You may not like me, maybe you even hate me but I know you won't hurt me. ...I think." Tei narrowed her eyes at that but stayed still, turning her head away with a brief look of sorrow before her back was fully turned.

Naruto came up to them, taking Tazuna close to him and both startling when they saw the wolf. The blond blinked before looking around, just able to see the shadowed forms of Haku and Zabuza lying limp on the ground.

"Is it over?" the boy asked, tilting his head before realization set in. "Wait, where's Hinata?" At his question, Tei flinched and Naruto caught that, boldly stepping up to the beast and clenching his fists. "Where is she?" He didn't too fazed by the fact that he was talking to a bloody, grieving bipedial wolf.

As the wolf continued to stay quiet, though baring her fangs as Naruto raged at her, Anko blinked before it all fell into place. She turned her head to where she knew Tei and Hinata were fighting and let out a long breath.

"She's dead, isn't she?" she asked in hollowed voice, her shoulders slumping. Naruto turned to her, his eyes widening while Tei only bowed her head, her ears pressed tight against her skull.

"...Yes." the word was barely above a whisper but Anko still heard and she still took a step back.

Naruto however, shook his head, having heard and raced towards where Hinata's body lay. Tei stared for a moment but followed slowly after him, her steps heavy. She caught up to him, just in time to see the boy shouting Hinata's name and starting to shake her.

Tei narrowed her eyes and let out a soft growl but Naruto only glared lightly at her, his eyes watering. He then turned to Hinata and pulled her body close, and Tei moved closer herself, once more nuzzling the girl. The pair stayed like this for a long time, ignoring everything else around them. Naruto eventually broke the silence.

"What do we do now? Zabuza is dead, that tracker is taken care of. Tazuna is safe. What now?"

Tei stayed quiet, staring down at Hinata and letting out a breath before closing her eyes. "We go back home. The mission is complete. There's nothing for us here anymore."

"And...Hinata?" The blonde choked out, hugging her body close to him again, his shoulders trembling.

"We...leave her here. We'll give her a proper burial. A warrior's burial."

Naruto said nothing to that and only looked at his slain comrade, sniffling a little. Tei lowered her head and said nothing and for a while, there was no sound but the crashing of the waves.

"You're...going to...leave...me?" a soft voice asks, startling them both. Tei and Naurto look down to see Hinata staring blearily up at them, her eyes fluttering a little.

"Hinata! You're alive!"

A/N: So, after three years i finally update this damn story. Well better late than never. I just...haven't really been in a writing mood. But...after these last few days, I'm slowly starting to get the passion again. Here's hoping that it doesn't frizzle out. It was good to write for this story again. Hope you enjoy it, and thanks.
