The Doctor opened the door and peered into the room where the Daleks and Cybermen were battling. He jumped in and flew over their heads. He twisted and swerved to avoid stray bullets. He dove to the ground and grabbed the two Magnaclamps. He used them to deflect bullets as he jumped into the air and flew back to where Rose was waiting anxiously.
"Hold on!" the Doctor screamed.
Rose held with all her might, but she was slipping. The Doctor reached out to her in vain. He slowly relaxed his grip on his clamp. He flew against the pull of the void. He let go, but he was quickly pulled toward the void. He pushed against it. He tried to move toward Rose, but it was all he could do to keep himself from being pulled in.
Rose screamed as her fingers slipped off and she was pulled toward the void.
"Rooose!" the Doctor screamed as he dove across the room toward her. He reached for her outstretched hand. He only touched the tips of her fingers as she was pulled out of reach. He ran into the wall and flew as hard as he could against the pull, clawing on the wall, but he was still dragged toward the breach. He watched Rose's terrified expression in horror and helplessness.
Pete appeared at the last minute and Rose fell into his arms. Rose glanced over her shoulder at the Doctor before vanishing with Pete. The Doctor's energy and will vanished and he fell toward the void. It finally closed and he collapsed on the ground, breathing hard, staring at the place where Rose and Pete had disappeared. The wind died down and the room was silent.
