POV third person

"Astra Night, A word?" Was the harsh edge of Star's voice once he had found out where Jaune Arc was staying

The warlock gulped as she nodded. "I have a moment."

They walked behind a bend, out of sight and earshot of Jaune.

"So, you offered your spare room to Jaune." Star said flatly, glaring at Astra Night.

She nodded. "He has not been assigned a room yet, so I offered him my spare."

Star sighed, shaking his head. "You're angry." Astra reasoned, knowing why.

Star shook his head, taking a deep breath in. "I really shouldn't be. I know that you're giving the newbie His room, but He's gone." The two fell into a saddened silence.

"Do you want him on the fireteam?" Star asked finally, looking the warlock in the eye. Astra thought about it for a moment. Did she? Jaune was nice and all, and they were missing a fireteam member. Being a mere five instead of six. Besides, he had survived the RDZ with Stryder, even if that implied that Stryder carried him through it.

She nodded finally. Star took a breath in. "I'll talk to Stryder and the other two about it. We will have a decision tomorrow." the large orange exo turned to walk away, but had a few more words to say.

"Oh, Astra? Be sure to throw him in the crucible tomorrow. And get him fully kitted out in the armory department. I don't want any member of fireteam Huevos running around in jeans and a hoodie!"

Astra Night only nodded, taking a deep breath in. she was sure that B0lt and Stryder would vouch for him to be in the fireteam, and Alpha might be on board as well.

She took a deep breath in, a smile etching on her face. "Time to get Jaune grinding."

The room that was assigned to Jaune was surprisingly cozy, despite someone having obviously lived here previously. A decorative bolt action rifle was mounted on the wall above a wooden mask that looked very old. The night dresser had a photo of Star, Stryder, and some unknown Exo hunter on it. Beyond that, the room was relatively sparse. The knight got the feeling that a lot of the stuff had been removed when whoever lived here moved out. A good sleep later brought him to consciousness somewhere close to eight in the morning. He exited to the common room that me and Astra shared, looking at the leftmost wall. A painting of an ocean island with a pink sunset hung on the wall above a short bookshelf. Perusing the books for a little, some titles caught his attention.

"Oh, you're up." Astra said, walking out of the bathroom.

"Yeah, I woke up a li-uhhh." he turned to meet her gaze, and the poor titans brain ceased to function. A soaking wet Astra in a towel will do things to the male brain. Like shut it down.

he quickly turned around, trying to banish the image that had been burned into him poor mind. Astra just laughed at my embarrassment. "I highly recommend that you get used to this, Jaune. I have a feeling that after the possibility of centuries of living together, we'll see a lot of things that were not meant to be seen."

Jaune blanched. "C-Centuries?"

"I mean, yeah. We are immortal, after all." Astra explained before the click of the door closing was heard. She hopefully was going to go get dressed.

The knight, however, decided that food seemed like a good idea. Knocking on Astra's door, he heard a "in a minute!"

"I'm going to see if i can make something to eat. You want anything?"

"Eggs and toast will be fine, Thanks!"

he nodded, getting his partner's order. Popping open the fridge, taking out a few eggs. A moment later they were frying in the pan and bread was in the toaster. Astra exited, clad in a guns and roses tee shirt and fitting jeans.

"Smells wonderful. Did you know you could cook?" Astra said as she sat down at the table. The cook answered with a shrug, plating the fried eggs and toast.

"So, what's on the agenda today?" Jaune asked his roommate and partner. She thought about it for a moment. "Well, you need to get some more glimmer and get yourself some armor before we throw you in the crucible. So I was thinking that we could drag you out to the outlands somewhere on a patrol. Don't worry, i'll be there, and i'll see if I can't get someone else to come along from the fireteam." The two continued to eat, making small talk about the upcoming grind. A knocking at the door interrupted their meal. Jaune sighed, getting up from his seat. The door opened to reveal the towering orange and black Exo.

"Jaune. Good morning. You mind if I step inside?" Star said, looking down at him. He

nodded, stepping to the side. The Exo stepped in, greeting Astra curtly.

"Did the Fireteam make a decision?" Astra asked. Wait, what decision? Fireteam? Jaune had some questions.

"They did. A near unanimous decision after Stryder gave his support."

Astra and Star turned to me. Uh oh.

"Uhh, what decision was made? And what does it have to do with me?" jaune asked, nervous as to what ungodly torture He was about to recieve. Star straightened up, taking up much more space than necessary. "Titan Jaune Arc." he started, his exo eyes boring into Jaunes very soul.

"Fireteam Huevos has taken a long and thoughtful discussion that lasted all of four minutes, and we have come to a decision. We would like you to be on Fireteam Huevos."

Uhh, what?

The blonde blanked at them, giving them a look. "You want me, a new Titan who has about zero skill or ability, to be on your fireteam?"

"Yes." Star said gruffly, tired of repeating things to his fireteam. B0lt was bad enough.

Jaune made a couple faces ranging from disbelief to bargaining to acceptance in the span of four seconds.

"Ok." Jaune said finally. "Sure, why not?" he said with a shrug. "Do I have to do anything, like monthly fees, or…?"

At this, Star laughed, deep and heavy. "Monthly fees! Ha, Very funny Jaune!" Star said, his light southern accent coming through. "Very funny. But no. there are no monthly fees associated with being a fireteam member, or anything like that. You are expected to help out fellow fireteam members out in the crucible and various missions that they ask of you." Star said, recovering from his laughter. "I will send you your invite later today. I presume you'll be out on a patrol today?"

Astra nodded, answering for the blonde. "Good. Here is roughly seven hundred glimmer, and get this man some gear." The exo said, handing Astra a pile of the shiny cubes. She nodded as the titan left without a word.

"So! Let's go shopping." Astra smiled, rubbing her hands together.

Jaune had a bad feeling about this.

"Astra, I look ridiculous." Jaune said, gesturing to the get up they had him try on at the moment. A sandy yellow helmet is what he looked though at the mirror. He saw a mismatched titan before him, a red chest plate clashed horribly with green boots and a white gray gauntlet let. All the gear either Uncommon or Rare, being within their price range

Bolt just leaned in from the stool she sat on. "Ehh, it would look well enough together if it was all the same damn color. Too bad you don't have a shader yet." the Exo sighed, giving him a once over.

Jaune made an unknowing face. "Rose? Do I?" Jaune asked, the chipper ghost popping into existence.

"You shouldn't, but let's see. Yup. associated with your sword. 'Arcadia.' White, Gold, Blue, grey." Rose said, not expecting it but not necessarily surprised. Rose was getting used to the fact that Jaune was not a normal guardian. Not a special one necessarily, but not normal. "It's attached to your sword."

"Could you apply it?" Jaune asked, the mismatched armor suddenly changing color with a glimmer of light. It was mostly white and gold, but small strips were blue for highlights and a backshading of an almost white stone grey. Jaune cocked his head, considering the look.

"Ehh, does not look terrible with the shader." he said, mulling over the look.

Astra light up. "Wonderful! You can find anything really at the Recycle place!" she cheered, ready to drag the poor Arc out onto the field for patrol.
